When I go out and begin formulating reviews in my mind, service is always at the forefront. My opinions live and die by the staff, and it's with that in mind that I want to dedicate this review almost entirely to Kasey, who was our incredible server. From the moment we stepped inside Kpot, Kasey went above and beyond with service; she was so very kind and accommodating. Without prompting, she immediately created a space for me to keep my wheelchair safe and accessible without it being in the way at our table, which is always something I have to worry about myself when I go anywhere. I have dietary restrictions and she was very enthusiastic and willing to swap out the BBQ trays multiple times as needed. I never once felt like it was a bother. It was my loved one's birthday, and when we told Kasey, she completely understood the assignment. She made sure that we were having a wonderful time, was ninja-like in making sure our unused dishes were out of the way, she made wonderful, positive conversation that helped make our entire table feel welcomed + relaxed like we were old friends, and she had the most excellent timing with bringing out a surprise birthday treat at the end of our visit! I have never felt like a staff member at any place of business, no matter how wonderful they were otherwise, was as sincerely invested in making our experience unforgettable as Kasey was. at Kpot. Kpot is incredibly fortunate to have found such a warm, bright human being to work there. We went on a Saturday, and when any of us ever return in the future, we will absolutely be sure to come on Saturday again in hopes of having Kasey as our host again! The food itself was very good, and the value cannot be understated. It's a great bang-for-your-buck! Once you pay for the hotpot/bbq, you also have access to a variety of food by the sauce bar. (I specifically got some chicken wings and French fries and dipped them in the delicious chili sauce!) Every one at my table had very positive reviews of their food (which were, of course, only bolstered by their raving about Kasey! Seriously, I cannot overstate how this review is glowing because of her, haha! We all agreed that we will be coming back again, in a large part due to the service; KPot has found itself four loyal customers because of her. ) The food being brought to the table was also very timely. There were no delays and everything came right out, fresh from the kitchen. Absolutely nothing tasted bad or off. The atmosphere inside of the restaurant is pretty conducive to feeling social and open, yet perfectly private for your party. It feels like a really good spot to catch up with friends you haven't seen in a while, or to celebrate special occasions with a small group. I do also wanna mention how convenient it was to get food. They give you an iPad with names and pictures of all the food items. It is extremely easy and intuitive to use, and it's probably the best means of ordering food I've had at a buffet-style place. Very hygienic and timely! I truly cannot overstate how the excellent service made our experience as amazing as it was. The food is great and Kpot itself is, of course, quite nice, but the service elevated it into the position of being my FIRST choice when it comes to dining out with multiple people again. I wholeheartedly recommend dining here, if not for the insane value you get in terms of food, then absolutely for the excellent service -- be sure to come on a Saturday so that you're more likely to have such a wonderful, warm and professional person providing your service! It was our first time going to this KPOT in Wappingers as the hubby was craving hot pot! The combination of grilling premium meats tableside while enjoying a bubbling pot of flavorful broth makes every meal feel like an event. The selection was impressive, with thinly sliced beef, pork, seafood, vegetables, noodles, and a variety of sides to customize each bite. The meats were fresh and tender, cooking quickly on the grill. The hot pot broth was rich and comforting, especially when loaded with vegetables, noodles, and your favorite proteins that you can choose from! One of the highlights was being able to switch between grilling and hot pot throughout the meal. The endless options kept things exciting, and every combination tasted different. The seafood was fresh, the vegetables crisp, and the noodles soaked up all the delicious broth flavors. (You add $5 if you want both) For drinks, I got Piña Colada and tried their bubble tea as well, Matt got Coconut mojito. (The server heard Coke and Mojito she immediately change it and apologized) The thing I don't like and could possibly improve is their appetizer, sauce and salad area. Sauce were good but apps only has few selection, like chicken nuggets, fries, etc. and looks like it has been sitting there. Nuggets were rubbery. Ambiance was okay, not that much people when we came in around 5. Place seems nice as well. I recently took my family (4 of us) to KPOT for a birthday celebration, excited because their website clearly lists a birthday promotion offering free items. When I mentioned it was a family member's birthday and referenced the promotion, the waitress immediately told me there was no such thing and acted like we were making it up. She was dismissive and made me feel embarrassed in front of my entire family. After checking, the birthday offer is still prominently displayed under their Promotions section on the website. Despite this, we were denied any discount or free item and ended up paying full price. The waitress's rude and condescending attitude completely ruined what should have been a happy family occasion. Very disappointing experience. False advertising and poor customer service made me look foolish for simply expecting them to honor what they advertise online. Really good service here, our hot plate was constantly getting replaced so it never got too gunky and they also checked in a few times throughout the meal too. The marinated short ribs were AMAZING and my favorite of the meal!! The sauce bar was extensive and they had some cool offerings that I don't see in other places (like duck feet, snow crab, etc). I wish they committed more to the KBBQ aspect though as we didn't have the little triple dishes that most KBBQ places have to dip meats in. So first time having this franchise ever. Have to start with the staff is well trained, very courteous, kind, and A+ for the team. The manager yes knicks fan, haha sorry brother, knicks didn't come thru for you today. The menu is straight forward, order on tablet, they should keep the tablet unlocked somehow after table info and ordering begins. You can choose the hotpot, kbbq or both for AYCE. It's $32 per person for dinner and +$5pp if you want to do both styles. The kbbq grill is in the center of the table, i went to hungry pot recently and it's at the end of the table makes no sense. For the Hotpot, it's individual style with induction heaters for each person. The Kbbq menu has Beef bulgogi / spicy version Prime cut Ribeye steak (season yourself with butter and variety of seasonings at the sauce bar) LA short rib ( THE BEST on menu great marinade) Beef tongue Chuck tail Pork has just about as many options pork belly, bulgogi, spicy versions and plus chicken in bulgogi marinade with spicy versions as well. They have seafood, snow crab legs, scallops, shrimp, salmon, spicy salmon, squid etc and end it with a barrage of veggies. Now one thing about KBBQ at Kpot is they don't have the Korean side dishes that come with meal, appetizers, cheese corn etc. They do have chicken nuggets fries and egg rolls today. The hotpot has all your typical hotpot proteins, veggies, shrooms and your choice of broths etc. One thing i do wishhhhh their restaurant has for the sauce bar is the soy bean paste for dipping the grilled meats. I've never had KPOT before, but have definitely heard of the chain before. They are an AYCE KBBQ + Hotpot chain with very reasonable prices! Lunch (OPEN- 4pm): $20.99/pp for adults;$7.99/kids 4-6 y/o; $11.99/kids 7-10 y/o Dinner (4pm-CLOSE): $31.99/pp for adults; $11.99 $11.99/kids 4-6 y/o; $15.99/kids 7-10 y/o ***$5 extra per person for both kbbq + hotpot*** We chose to do KBBQ only & ended up ordering: -beef bulgogi -spicy beef bulgogi -short rib (OUR FAVORITE!) -premium ribeye steak -angus chuck flap tail -prime brisket -scallops The short ribs were the best thing we ordered! It was marinated well & sooo addicting; we put in about 10 orders haha. It was tasty on its own, without sauce! Both bulgogis were decent. I liked that they had onions mixed in but the bulgogi was more shredded than I am used to. Flavor was nice. The steak was good. Definitely have to add salt + pepper because it comes plain, w/o marinade. Scallops tasted fresh, prime brisket + chuck flap tail were nice to try! They have a sauce bar with many different sauces but I feel like they were missing soybean paste, which I normally like to use for dipping meat. The sauces, in my opinion, are better suited for hotpot, rather than kbbq. I noticed that they don't do banchan/side dishes here, though they do offer kimchi at the sauce bar. I've been here so many times and am never disappointed. We always order sooo much and end up in a food coma after lol. Service is decent just depends on the day but never had a bad experience. We always get the hot pot and Korean bbq. Such a great experience and the place is pretty big inside. They also have some cooked food by the sauce bar - they even have seafood boil the last time we went! French fries, fried shrimp, chicken nuggets, seaweed salad the list goes on. I've been to many Kpots in different states, but this one is by far my favorite! The restaurant had a beautiful, lively interior. My favorite part was the iPad ordering system, which had pictures of every single item, making it so easy to order exactly what you wanted--amazing! I did both hot pot and KBBQ, which was an additional $5, but totally worth it to enjoy both experiences. The only downside was the service towards the end of our meal. I assume it's because we ordered everything ourselves, but we had to wait quite a while to catch the server's attention for the check. It's been about a year since we were last here. No particular reason why. Today, we went for lunch; it looks like all new staff, since the last time. They still use a tablet system to place your order, which goes directly to the kitchen. Another person will bring the fresh ingredients to the table. The guest cooks the food at their pace. In Korea-town, in Manhattan, a hostess cooks the food at their pace; hope you're famished! There's a sideboard with all the sauces, condiments, sliced fruits, and foods that kids might like; chicken nuggets, spring rolls etc. There's a choice between a Hot Pot or BBQ. Both have beef, pork, chicken, fish, seafood, and many vegetable choices. The place is clean, well maintained, and has a nice atmosphere conducive to conversation and dining. I was so excited to dine here and it quickly became one of my favorite places! This is the perfect place to try different types of meats and hot pot ingredients. There's a huge selection and is really a great social experience. You have the ability to take control of how much food you want and how often the ingredients are delivered to your table. The cost of the meal may seem pricey but is really a great deal considering what you'd pay for a plate at other Korean restaurants. At least here, it's all you can eat! I'd say the only down side is that everyone at the table needs to match their dining experience. For example, one person cannot order just hot pot and another just bbq. Everyone needs to be either hot pot, bbq or both. The cost to enjoy both is just a small up charge so it's worth it in my opinion. I'd definitely recommend! Went back with some of my friends who have not had the experience of Korean BBQ. Some of them had some soup along with their BBQ and I, of course, stuck with my meat. They enjoyed the novel experience but I must say, this establishment has made some changes with their ventilation system and their grills from my previous post. Went for lunch around 1:30pm on a Saturday and was seated pretty quickly. Atmosphere: Trendy, modern decor & comfortable seating with booths for 2-4 people, larger tables for 8 people and there was also a room for a party of 10. There was an additional seating area in the back past the bathrooms. There is also a nice bar area (not open yet as they are waiting to get their liquor license) with three huge TVs showing baseball, football, and soccer games. Staff: super nice and greeted each guest warmly. Our server constantly checked up on us. Food: Standard hot pot fare. Love that we can order directly on a tablet and that the orders get sent straight to the kitchen. No need to wait for your server to collect any papers. Food was delivered super quick once we sent the orders in. Never had to wait more than a few minutes. Everything looked fresh and tasted delicious after dunking them in the broth. Tried the herbal and Tom yum broth, both of which were tasty. The Tom yum wasn't spicy though. It had strong hints of tomato. Serving sizes: - for the meats, they are thinly sliced and rolled up. There are about 6-8 rolls per plate. - for the veggies, it's provided in a bowl and was enough for 2 people - for the sides, such as mussels, fish cake, fish balls, gyoza, tempura, etc. they provided 2 pieces of each per person. *The amount of enoki mushroom that was given was super small. Considering that they shrink once boiled, you might want to order double per person. Sauce bar: It has all the ingredients you will need to make an awesome dipping sauce. They do provide some guides - I recommend their shacha, oyster, sesame oils and soy sauce combo with some garlic, spring onions, and cilantro. There are also some ban chan (small appetizers), dessert (brownie bites), and fruits at the sauce bar station. My favorites were the radish, melon, and bean sprouts. The only thing that I think needs to be improved is the cleanliness of the sauce bar. It can get messy really quickly and contamination is a real concern, especially for anyone that is allergic to certain ingredients. I noticed some specks of sauce that fell into a different sauce container. Perhaps the sauces can have a cover on them?
