We love Joe Willys food. They are consistent, quality, and quantity. Their food is fresh and delicious. Sea food lovers you will have a plethora of choices. I'm We wait a whole year for their delicious Soft Shell Crab. They did not disappoint. The crabs were big and meaty. The Francese sauce was finger linking good.

Great spot to include in your local dining rotation if you live or summer in the area. We learned of this gem from one of my fiancé's favorite shows - Restaurant Impossible (shout out to his man crush Tom Bury) - and decided to take a drive up the Hudson Valley from our home in Northern New Jersey. Restaurant was quiet for a Saturday evening but that was just fine for those of us looking for a relaxing dinner spot. He, of course, had to check out all of Tom's works of art and the dishes featured on the show. The Shrimp Topped Salmon is a must have. The fried calamari was standard but prepared well. Stuffed clams were too bready (feedback that Robert Irvine also provided). I had the Zuppa di Pesce - while a tad salty for our taste (which says something for the fiance that adds salt to most things he eats) - came in a generous portion of both seafood and linguine and definitely worth a try. Service was great - and there may have been a little fanboying on the fiancé's part as we were leaving the restaurant.

Lobster tails with drawn butter and Potatoe wedges, fried shrimp and French fries.

Not sure of why I haven't been back yet, but Joe Willy's had some of the freshest seafood items. My lobster tails were a nice size and they were not rubbery or chewy. The atmosphere was exciting and the live band was a great bonus. There was not much diversity there but other than that the food was great.

The service and ambiance was nice, so were the prices. Unfortunately the food was mediocre or ok. We started out with the raw sampler of shrimp, oysters and clams, the clams were gritty but otherwise the appetizer was good. We both had the cup of lobster bisque, it was served barely lukewarm and was a bright orange color. The salads were average. My hubby had the zuppa di peche with shrimp and clams, it was ok. My broiled lobster tail was dried out and tough, I didn't bother to try the shrimp, and surprisingly the cod was moist and flavorful. My hubby tried the cannoli, he didn't finish it because it was pasty. The woman's restroom reeked horribly, I could smell the stench three feet from the door, the floors were sticky. We've been here several times, each time it's gotten worse. We won't be back.

Clams shrimp and scallops with an upcharge?

Meh Menu is confusing, very confusing. Upcharge for scallops. They don't offer a scallop dinner. The fried shrimp were over cooked and flavorless. The clam strips were tasty but 1/4 of the strips were tiny crumbs. Nothing impressive.

This has become my go-to spot for great seafood in the area. The quality of the fish is fantastic and the service has been much better the last few times we've come. Admittedly my husband and I had mixed feelings our first couple visits as most of the waitresses are pretty young and the service wasn't great, however we kept coming back for the food and so glad we did. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the lobster roll/mac special as I felt there wasn't much lobster for the price, and I also had a daiquiri that simply wasn't a daiquiri - it was super milky, runny, and frankly not good. My husband also had clam strips recently that tasted sandy, however those are our only complaints. All of the other seafood has been exceptional and the owners and waitstaff are very welcoming. The shrimp topped salmon is DELICIOUS and all of the broiled choose your own fish specials are great as well, they give you so many options to choose from in terms of flavor profile that you can't go wrong. The crab stuffed fish dinner is very yummy as well. Their clams oreganata are my personal favorite, the best I've had! Recently had my fish selection prepared that way and it was delicious. The vibe of the restaurant is nice but not pretentious. The food truly speaks for itself and we're so glad to have this seafood gem in the area.

It's been a while since I was here last, at the new location. The food is good and service is fine. I do wish they had a greater variety of seafood and the zuppa di pesce was more traditional - all kinds of seafood with pasta for one price.

I ordered the gnocchi with sausage, and unfortunately I don't love it since the gnocchi was overcooked / the ratio of gnocchi to sausage was uneven. But I would def recommend the hush puppies and General Tso's cauliflower for appetizers, as well as the cast iron s'mores cookie for dessert.

FOOD: 3.5/5 WHY? Good quality ingredients but inconsistent execution. For example, my poppyseed cinnamon bun was presented in one of those cute cast iron skillets but the bun was ice cold, dry, and not failed to deliver comfort food vibes. I suspect that the dish was originally cooked in the skillet and drowned in a creamy cream cheese frosting. THAT would score high. Unfortunately, the little pan was a real let down- almost like a bait and switch. Management-- if you want to take a shortcut, just serve the bun on a plate. Other dishes delivered on presentation, but failed on practicality. Example- The Flatbread which is topped with beautifully cooked fried eggs was served on a board with no side plate so the egg yolk ran unto the table-embarrassing. This brings me to SERVICE. Kevin was pleasant buy not efficient- we had to ask for plates, were not offered coffee or tea for a brunch service. And one of our group of 4 ppl received her entree at least 5 minutes after the rest of us- Our food got cold waiting for the missing entree. No excuse for that with a near-empty dining room. Would I return? Yes. With lower expectations

After checking with his sources, he recommended I try Obercreek, which was a short drive from where we were staying. The great news about Obercreek is that they're a very small craft brewery located on a farm and their focus on small batches keeps everything fresh. The flip side is that their hours are short. I had hoped to get there on Tuesday or Wednesday of my short trip and put my feet up, but their only hours when I was in town were from 4 to 7 on Thursday, and they only sell traditional cans on Fridays. I understand that they sell out their cans pretty much right away. I say all of this just to make sure that you do your homework before heading to the brewery, but you should head there. The beer is very good. The consumer-facing parts of the business are on the far side of a working farm, and consist of a small tap room with some seating and an outside tent-covered seating area. There were some other surrounding structures. I assume that's where they make the beer. They have a few beers on tap. I tried 6 oz pours of an IPA called Celebrity, a DIPA called Passports and a Coffee Stout called French Press, which was made with -- get this -- Pappy Van Winkle coffee beans. All of these beers were very good, and the Celebrity, made with Garston Nelson hops was on par with my favorite New England IPA's, including from the most beloved breweries like Treehouse, Trillium, Etc. Given my family's plans and the limited hours, I did not get to stay as long as I would have liked. The good news is, while Obercreek does not have cans on Thursdays, they do have 32 oz can-like crowlers instead of growlers. So I was able to get a 32 oz of Celebrity to go. I have to shout the service. The person who helped me was invested in the business (perhaps an owner?) and very knowledgeable about their beer and beer in general. He was also very welcoming. He mentioned that they will be relocating to the part of the farm that is more accessible to main roads and the train stop. Sounds like this will likely increase the number of people visiting and perhaps the facilities will be larger and more elaborate as well. 5 Stars. Obercreek is a young brewery that's clearly going places. Make a note.
