Ask any of the Beach Boys (the living ones at least) and they'll tell you that cars are most useful and fun when they're drivable making it axiomatic that no child in history was ever conceived in the back seat of a Yugo, Fiat or Plymouth of any vintage. My Volkswagen recently had a strange problem (as a multiple owner, VW's only have strange problems)... while the vehicle started fine the ignition cylinder couldn't be disengaged without fifteen minutes of jiggling and twerking the key until the damn thing shut off. The local Volkswagen dealer was worthless, informing me the part was on a multiple month "supply chain" backorder and just for grins added that their Bavarian pride forbids the installation of a sniff, sniff... "used" part. Enter Mark of KPS. He searched for new and struck out but he did secure a high quality used ignition cylinder that had me going in two weeks after a fairly complicated install. A labor intensive job that wasn't fun to pay for but considering the thousands they saved me on a long-term car rental the repair was a bargain. The value equation here is simple. If you can't get the part, and you have no idea what to do with it when you get it, a bargain repair is no bargain. Many thanks to Mark and KPS. After getting a flat, I rolled onto their lot on Labor Day and had to leave quickly with my dog and bags of ice to get to a party in town. When I called the next day to set up service, I was asked if I filled out paperwork, I said I had not and asked if he wanted me to come in to do so. He then called me a "typical Tesla owner" for thinking I could do whatever I wanted. I confronted him about his insult, but he had no interest in apologizing for his lack of professionalism. My drive belt broke, and was referred here by a trusted auto body shop. I spoke with Mark, and he had me leave my car overnight, and gave me a quote the next day. He quoted a drive belt at $59.98, drive belt tensioner at $248.88, P/S belt at $69.99, and P/S belt tensioner at $359.95. Labor was quoted at $419.85 for a grand total of $1,239.92 after tax. When I picked my key up from him, I told him the quote was a little higher than expected, and he didn't seem surprised nor did he seem like he cared. I took the car nearby to 'T & M Automotive Repair" less than a mile away, and spoke with Tim there. He fixed my car for about half the cost, and he was extremely professional. read more

KPS Garage : honors their warrantee : Had a new suspension put on my 2011 BMW 535i - after 3 months I started hearing some noice from the front end So I dropped off my vehicle at KPS and they found and corrected a lose anti sway bar- problem fixed - no cost no issues - Happy Customer Dec 2022- Took my 2011 BMW 535I xdrive, into the only garage in the area I trust - KPS -Princeton Garage. The drivers side headlight had condensation on the inside and I needed the entire headlight assembly replaced. The team at KPS once again did a phenomenal job replacing the parts and getting my vehicle back to 100%. You may think that's should have been an easy job, but it wasn't- my vehicle has adaptive headlight which means when you turn the steering wheel, the headlight shift so that you have a clear path while turning. The job required a new headlight assembly, an adaptive light computer module and a blinker module- it's all electronic and KPS managed the job perfectly- thank you KPS for another outstanding service completion- a forever customer- M. KPS just brought my HONDA riding mower back from the dead.... Bob found parts for my ancient riding mower which I just love. He scoured the Internet and found pieces that haven't been made in 20 years. I've had the same mower repaired by various other supposedly reputable mechanics but never has it worked as well as it does now. It's true and they say they don't make them like they used to and I thought for sure this one was done. I highly recommend KPS Garage for any of your automotive and small engine repair needs. I ordered tires Thursday night before a holiday weekend. I took my car to the shop on Friday at noon and demanded that my alignment and tire mounting, balancing, and rotation be finished before 5 so I could leave for vacation. And guess what? IT WAS! They tell you they can fix something and then call to say it can't be fixed ( so I thought NOTHING WAS FIXESD) then a month later they charge your credit card and do work not authorized to perform. Even gave my key back, and did not ask for payment, didn't expect to be charged almost $1000 for a car I had to trash, I no longer have the car, so not even sure if they even did any work, car would not even start, sold it for parts. If you have an old car don't take it there, they don't like to work on old cars. I'm never going back again! read more

I took my car there for a check up after a long road trip and when Dan (one of the mechanics) called he was very patient in discussing the issues they found. He was very understanding in meeting my needs and not pressuring/scaring me to do any work. They're prices seem very reasonable, although, I didn't really compare to any near by places. I would definitely recommend this place. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that they're hours are not the most accommodating to working professionals, however, it's very easy to drop your car off before they open or after they close. read more

Totally incompetent shop. Brought my 2011 BMW in because it had a warning light on, and KPS is listed as a shop that knows BMWs. KPS had no clue what the light meant. They spent all day with the car and couldn't figure it out. They then tried to tell me the car needed a number of things that the car's computer said it did not need (guess they don't know how to check the computer...or they assumed I didn't know how to do it). Finally they told me the car just needed an oil change and a computer reset to tell it maintenance had been done. When I got the car back, I start the ignition, and the light comes on immediately (so obviously not fixed). I went home and googled the problem myself. I immediately found a video explaining exactly how to figure out what the light meant. In other words, a competent internet user was more effective than KPS garage. I would not ever return here. Not only did they try to sell me services I didn't need, but they're completely incompetent. read more

I now service my two cars with KPS rather than going to my dealership. On my SUV I had my brakes replaced with genuine parts and saved quite a bit. I thought that my Hyundai had broken a timing chain and that my engine was shot. Mark was very honest, thorough and competent in diagnosing and finding some minor problems instead. They could have sold me a $5000 engine replacement, but instead they diagnosed and fixed the problems for a couple hundred dollars, and the car runs fine. Mark was one of the most competent, pleasant and accomodating people that I have ever dealt with. It was the first time that I dealt with KPS, but it is the only place that I would go to in the future. He even called a few days later to make sure that everything was all right. read more
