This is a wonderful place for certain people. If you love a sports bar, spicy food, and like to experiment with different fushion/sushi/ American foods. This is for you. (Not my taste). We have been coming here for years, always had a great experience with staff and the food was always delicious. But i have to say, after our visit this Friday evening (4/17) we were EXTREMELY disappointed in the service and food. Firstly, our server sat us (party of 5 + baby) and took our order without writing it down. 3 of the people in our party received their meals in a decent amount of time, my wife and I sat their for another 20 minutes waiting for our burgers. I also ordered a side of broccoli as well. We asked the server to check on the status of our other meals. A runner came out maybe 5 minutes later and finally brought out out our burgers. I asked the runner about my broccoli and he said he'd look into it. The server then came out and said, "Oh, I wasn't sure if you still wanted that?" I said to her well, yeah, I did order it. The broccoli came out shortly after. Our burgers were very bland with almost no spice/flavor and undercooked. The fries were salty and soggy. The rest of our party was already done with their meals. By the time we received our burgers, my wife and I had to rush our meals and take some things home. Again, it's a shame because whenever we wanted a low key dinner with good food and service we'd go to K-Pub. After this experience, I dont think we'll be coming back anytime soon. read more

The bartender was excellent I ordered pad Thai and it was very greasy and I ordered chicken and shrimp. Two proteins which I was charged for probably four or five shrimp but less than 2 ounces of chicken. I don't know what happened. It used to be so good. read more

I have been what I consider a regular at K Pub for a couple years now. . Sorry to say, I will never go back after the experience I just had.... I'm blown away. The server who seemed to always be pleasant to me was scary angry tonight for some reason? I actually found myself asking , is this the same person I know and has served me in the past??? I walked in at 10:30 (Sat night) - I asked, did I miss the kitchen - yes done she replied (very nasty) I noticed all the keno slips were pulled off the bar. i then asked is keno done - my answer, not yet? But she obviously wanted zero part part of giving me a slip or accommodating my request. She obviously had a bad night and wanted out, at this point, I had to smirk because I was. So amazed at how I was being treated by a server I thought liked me and knew me. - She said what are you smirking at?? Did you just Video me??? Lol INSANE!! I knew at that point - it was time, pay my bud light and get out! I thought sad, maybe she needs a change or something? And what she accused me of doing was so not normal. If nothing else - I hope the management reads this and pulls Video from internal cameras to see how absurd this 5 minute visit was. This video thing she accused me of was bizarre- lol - crazy stuff!!! Why would I do that ??? Maybe she likes confrontation and felt like taking her bad mood and frustrations out on me. Kpub is local . I want to embrace this but the food is just average. Last night ordered a take out a pad thai that was dry lacking flavors. The asian chicken taco's had old dry chicken in the mix. Flavor was ok but the dry meat was a turn off. Sorry I cannot embrace you. read more

My friends and I stoped by as we were in the area. They were an hour from closing so the kitchen had done their last call but was still waiting to take our order. Only my friend was hungry so he got two orders of salmon sushi which we liked. For drinks we tried their Lychee martini and Bahama Breeze. The martini was good but strong! The Bahama was almost like a piña colada but not as creamy. Overall we had a good experience. Staff were super nice and checked on us as they were also closing down the bar. Seems like a place locals like to come too. I'd like to come again when their regular menu is available to order from as well. read more

K-Pub is fine. Went there on a Wednesday night specifically for the music bingo. I had called the previous day and confirmed that they were having it. Got there and they didn't have it. Only one thing wasn't good so I'm tempted to go back and try more options. Walked in here with my partner to get a couple drinks on a Sunday evening. He has an out of state ID with an active military ID. Bar had maybe 2-4 people there- it was pretty dead. Bartender asked to see our IDs. She saw my partners out of state ID and asked if he had anything else. He gave her the military ID. She said she wouldn't be able to serve him for some vague reason. He asked to speak to the manager. She said she'll show his IDs to the manager. She came back and said manager said no. Still unsure whether she actually showed a manager and why she didn't accept both forms of ID. In this day and age, maybe it was racism? There were barely anyone at the bar, you'd think she would accept the two IDs to get the bar busier. Bartender was not a person of color and my partner is. Will never know what was truly going through her mind but what I do know is that I will be telling all my local friends in the area about this experience and to make sure they don't bother with this establishment. read more

Today I visited a new spot called K-pub kitchen and bar. It's a fusion between a sports bar and Asian food restaurant and honestly after eating here I feel like they should be mutually exclusive. Overall the general dining experience wasn't anything amazing... Just kind of your average sports bar serving Asian fusion dishes so this is probably just going to be a quick review. For appetizers, we had the K-pub Spicy Wings. These wings were actually very solid. They had a nice tangy yet sweet taste very similar to a soy garlic glaze with hints of spice, the outer layer was crispy while the chicken inside remained moist. Next was one of the specialties of the restaurant, The GOON Burger. The name is inspired by the crab rangoon filling and the fried wonton that top the burger patty. Does it mix...kinda. It's a combination that may not suit everyone. I also got a side of fried pork gyoza, which brought a plate of 6 classic dumplings filled with ground pork and cabbage. Now I'm the type of guy who likes to try a rice dish from every Asian restaurant I visit. Luckily, this kimchi fried rice with bacon was super solid. The rice was very loose with a firm texture, every bite had flavor with equal distribution of veggies and meat. Great taste, great rice. This next item, this was the main reason I came here and I gotta tell you... What a let down, this crab rangoon pizza didn't really have much to say for itself. No real flavor, just kind of dough with some toppings on top, nothing really rangoon about this besides the name. Overall this spot was just another sports pub. Would I recommend this place? At the off chance you're craving a beer and some Asian fusion I say go for it, service is great and there's definitely a nice atmosphere to the place. Went to kpub for my birthday with my parents. Very surprised by the creavitiy on the menu, its an asian fusion with american pub food. Not a combo I had thought would work but the food was amazing. We started with lobster Rangoon and it was very tasty with a good balance of sweet and tangy. I got the goon burger which had a really good flavor profile of seasoned beef and crispy wonton and lobster filling. 10/10 would recommend read more

I wanted to like since it's close to my home but I was really disappointed with the sushi. The rice was bland and tasted too dry. The shrimp tempura was more of a breaded shrimp where the batter and crunch overwhelmed the delicate nature of a maki roll plus there was zero flavor. It almost tasted like frozen shrimp. The one plus was the lobster dumpling. The sauce was good and the lobster flavor came through. Skip the sushi though and go to Shoyu. read more

Ordered the chicken tenders with boom sauce for pick up. They changed their tenders from the unique crunchy and crispy strips to regular old poor quality tender style (clearly) frozen chicken with much less breading and did not give me any sauce. They packaged them in a Chinese takeout box so when I got home and opened them they were all soggy. Very disappointed this was one of my safe foods and I drove out of my way to get it on my lunch break. Now I will now be hungry all day. Disappointed in the decision to switch the chicken style to a much poorer quality product as well as the customer service if not checking to make sure that the whole order is in the bag. Parked in their lot on a slow Sunday(no one in the entire lot) and went across the street for a drink to support our friends opening day with the intention of coming back and grabbing drinks and playing some pool.... Came back an hour later , ordered drinks and they had towed our car. The bartender put the drink on the bar and then I was told to fuck off in front of my 75 year old mother. Kpub has an interesting atmosphere. It definitely looks clean because it is a semi-new place, but something is off. The bar area looks nice with TVs surrounding it, but the rest of the restaurant is lacking something and I can't put my finger on it. The food itself was all over the spectrum. The chicken gyoza and dipping sauce were good to start with. My table ordered crab cakes, a burger, sushi, and steak tips. The burger was a standard burger and my friend enjoyed it. The steak tips were alright, but tasted like steak with teriyaki sauce on it. Bland and unimpressive. Half of the sushi was alright and the other was not. The sushi rice seemed stale or hardened on half of our order. Now, for the crab cakes....I DO NOT recommend ordering the crab cakes until they change the recipe. It resembled a burger, flat and greasy, smelled overly-fishy and the texture was like a fake meat substitute. It was inedible and was not eaten. Crab cakes should have a nice height and bounce to them all while tasting fresh and flaky. This was my first time here and will be my last time, unfortunately. I'm not sure if a restaurant can specialize in such a wide variety of differing cuisines, but this place certainly does not cut it. read more

Have been here a few times now. The first time was very good. Yesterday was terrible. Sat at the bar for dinner. Service was very poor. Two bartenders working tremendously slow and favoring the locals. Myself and the guy next to me each wait minimum 10 minutes for our drinks, even after my food was delivered. My dinner was even worse. Lobster dumplings had no lobster and sat in an oily cream sauce. Barely ate 1 of them. My noodle dish had a mountain of noodles and very little else. I didn't find many reviews on Yelp and I was expecting a more traditional Asian restaurant. KPub is more of a fusion with American food which I was a bit disappointed. The food was okay not my favorite. We had the spicy wings and the peppery baby back ribs. I did not enjoyed them as the meat had too much of a meat flavor missing the spices. We also had the walnut shrimp had the texture of freezer burn. The only plate I enjoyed were the Maki. We had a Philadelphia roll and the Dynamite roll (scallop and yellow fin). The Maki were good and I enjoyed them. I don't see my self going back but if I want a quick Maki I might stop here since is close to home. The server was Rachel. K pub is a great place for a fun night out/date night. There is a bar area with lots of tables and booths and then a quieter dining room area. We usually sit in the bar area and share a few scorpion bowls (drinks are always very strong) and play keno. The food is Asian inspired, with some American classics, and they also have sushi. The desserts aren't great, so skip those, but everything else is really good! read more

Tried this place as we were looking for something different - will NEVER go back. made reservations for 7, took 30 mins to order. My daughters milk was sour and she started gagging. Food then took over an hour to come out - and came out over 20 mins with only some people eating at a time. My daughters meal was wrong and after about 1.5 hours there and my husband and I not getting our food, asked to speak to the manager. She came over with a bad attitude and was extremely passive aggressive stating they were busy and that is why everything was late (14 empty tables and 6 tables of people). When I asked to speak to the owner or get their info, she told me to go to Yelp - so here I am. save yourself time and find another place! read more

Also coming from a very diverse part of NJ, it seems odd that an asian fusion place has only caucasian workers.
