Good for you guys not letting the people with the pitt bull in !! I was thinking of buying a home in the but told Sara, who is selling it that I am afraid of moving to El Cajon because pitt bulls are everywhere out there. And I won't go near any of those "Red Zone" dogs. I have a small older Pom mix and have had it with pitt people and their excuses on those dogs. If they are so great why do you need insurance for them ?? Why are they outlawed in Denver, France and other places ?? The fact is : They are an aggressive breed ! I am a relative of a former tenant at this park and the owner at shady lane trailer park is crossing the line into verbal abuse, harassment, and a total abuse of power. I've personally witnessed a typed out note that Shirley wrote and gave to residents of shady lane. I can provide proof of said note and it is purely awful the things she says to residents. She will threaten to evict residents for literally no reason. Shirley will create a reason out of nowhere and threaten eviction. She's trying to throw people into the streets the proof speaks for itself. The other comments from residents on here have experienced the same exact thing from Shirley. Her treatment to the residents is down right awful and unprofessional. Being that she's the sole owner there is nobody who call her out on her behavior. I foresee lawsuits in the future. I will keep tabs on ownership and if ownership continues this, I will find out and keep/ save any proof of harassment/abuse of power in case lawsuits arise I will have provide proof read more

This is an amazing little hidden spot for trailer living. All the residents are very nice and the location allows for peace and quiet, even in the busy area of El Cajon. I was living there for a year and Barbara is great property manager who is always helping residents with their issues that arise. The grounds are spacious and allow for storage to keep personal belongings. Definitely a nice hidden spot for long term RV living. read more

UPDATE: It has been over two months since I posted my review of Shady Lane RV. Since then I have received a handful of upsetting to say the least private messages from Shirley that are what I very much consider to be harassment. I have blocked her on yelp and yet one more message got through. I will not be harassed or pressured in any form to change my review in fact it would be a violation of yelps own terms of use if I was to do so. This is VERY unprofessional. Yelp is here for honest reviews to help the public, it holds businesses accountable, it helps businesses improve their customer service when there is a need for it. It is absolutely not ok for this to happen. Yelp is suppose to be a safe platform and there should never be any pressure or harassment from a business to change a honest review, change your business practices and customer service. That is the only thing that is affecting your business, not my review. I stand behind my review. It was honest, accurate, and was not meant in anyway to be mean to Shirley. If I continue to get messages from this business owner I will be posting them to here. This is absolutely not ok. And yelp needs to follow up further. ORIGINAL REVIEW. I'm sure that in person that the management is nicer. Just from the reviews that were on here. But I was really nice and polite over the phone, I didn't ask any questions about the space. I just phoned to see if one was available. It was! But when my husband and I emailed our applications the email address on the website kept bouncing back. I called the next day left a message politely asking just to call back and perhaps give me a better email address to send the applications, and if the space was gone please call back either way to let us know. Nothing... I called back again the next day and same off put tone of voice, just like I was an inconvenience to Shirley. She absolutely could be a little nicer over the phone, we really just were looking forward to staying here, and I'm ok with putting up with someone's phone irritation manner if we just were given accurate information. I get it phone calls are hard, they interrupt a lot of things, but this is your business, and I didn't call at a weird time, not late, note early. Honestly it's really discouraging to have these types of interactions. We treat people how we want to be treated and work hard at that even when people don't treat us well. I'm here to be a clean, quiet, respectful and ideal tenant, and to support your park monetarily. Why do you think it's ok to treat anyone that way? We don't have he circumstances to pay 100$ a night at some of the rv parks. And it's a pretty painful process finding safe, friendly, affordable housing. This was a really really disappointing experience. Shady lane please just remember to be kind and not pull the rug out from someone. I was a resident at Shady Lane Trailer Park for just about a year. I really enjoyed my time there. The park was always clean, the management was always kind, and I met a few neighbors that I now call close friends. This isn't your average vacation RV park. It's a place that about 50 trailer tenants call home. Some for 20+ years. Inside the park is extremely quiet and you don't see many disturbances. You will never find a park this nice for the price. read more

1. We were robbed for are deposit! How do you get charged $75 for over $200 worth of stuff such as White rock, mulch, a Rose Bush! Which was all approved by management and there was a mutual agreement to leave them behind. 2. The city pipes were so old I had serveral sewage back ups! Which are not fun to handle. And was a common occurrence for the previous resident that stayed In same spot! Which I was never informed of until after I started having problems They only reason I'm giving this a two star and not a single star is. I had four really nice neighbors who made my stay bareable, other than that The management will smile in your face and talk behind your back and rob you! read more

don't apply here, they have bullshit excuses for now allowing "aggressive breeds" (specifically pitbulls) because their "insurance doesn't cover it". when my boyfriend and i went to the park to look at the space and possibly apply, the manager mentioned they don't accept them because "they lock their jaws"and bite someone. not only is this completely false, no dog breed is able to do this, but then continued to said that we could send a picture and if it didn't look like a pitbull, that they might allow us to rent the space. my dog is my emotional support animal, is registered, and certified to be. my boyfriend tried to mention this to her, but she rudely interrupted him and said "they knew the regulations and he didn't need to explain" when there's a literal fair housing act in place for ESA animals. fuck this place :-) read more

My husband and I lived happily in this Park for a couple of years all together.in our RV Trailer. We moved in the first time in Nov 2008 and then again August of 2012 until April 2012. It is a nice clean park which is centrally located and well attended. Each party keeps their lot cleaned up so it always looks neat. Its sort of like a little village, you get to know your neighbors. We will really miss the friends we made there. The lots are very inexpensive compared to other parks in San Diego County Our lot was $450 and our utilities-very inexpensive too; this makes the park VERY AFFORDABLE and comfortable . Where else could you find an apartment for those prices in San Diego! I loved living very near a Sprouts store, a number of banks drugstores and eateries. I will really miss the Shady Lane RV Park, the convenience and the safety of living among real people. The park Manager is a gem, attending quickly to any problems that might arise and also a kind neighborly sort of person. All good things come to an end sooner or later. We have just moved out of our little home in El Cajon and in with family in San Diego County. we have parked our beloved RV in storage for the time being. The good part though is that we are enjoying many happy times with our daughter her husband and our grandkids. It is so much fun to hike with them, see them mastering reading and math and such with their homeschooling mom. We are content now and loving family life, but we will always feel just a little lonesome for the simple life at the Shady Lane RV Park. Barbara & Solomon Quimba read more
