Krafty does a great brunch on weekends with old school hip hop playing in the background, and they take reservations. Be still my beating heart! Did that thing where we each ordered our own dish and then spent the meal trading plates to taste everything. Tried the Dizzee Rascal sandwich, Rack city Benedict and The pound cake. We stopped by Krafty for drinks and patio time (which they have plenty of both!). The catch, you cannot just drink at Krafty! You must order some type of food. Which was ok since their menu list starts at $3.00. We ordered wine first. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable about their wine selection. Then we ordered olives and chili. The chef/owner actually came out to introduce himself to us and told us about how they make everything themselves in the restaurant. So we had to order pickles which was delicious. And it wasn't just pickles, it was cucumber, peppers, mushrooms, and other stuff. I would definitely recommend checking out Krafty!! read more

My husband and I went here for brunch and it was delicious. I had been here once before and was not happy with the service, but the management team promptly addressed my concerns and I therefore decided to give it another try; I'm happy I did. The space is really warm inside with great decor. We ordered the pork belly bowl and the smoked chicken Benedict. Everything in both meals was delicious, especially the pork belly and the smashed potatoes. Make sure you order a side of homemade hot sauce, it's delicious and they sell it by the jar as well. We will definately be back for brunch, and I'd like to try it out for dinner as well. read more

We came here on a weekend night without reservations, which we quickly learned in kelowna is a mistake to begin with as every place was packed to the gills with long wait times. We waited it out.. they had just seated a bunch of tables so unfortunately none of the tables were turned and when they were finally ready to seat us about 5 tables all opened up at once.. go figure. The hostess was very nice though and did a good job keeping us informed and trying to find options for us a the bar. After we were seated, it then took a while for the waitress to even come by. The menu isn't too extensive, so I went with the shrimp risotto and my boyfriend did the buttermilk chicken. It took quite a while for the food to come out - the risotto was just ok and my boyfriend said the same about the chicken except that the serving size on his was actually quite small. There were a couple of chunks of chicken but after pulling it apart he found that it was almost all breading... there were a couple of little chunks of waldorf salad as more of a decoration around the plate, so needless to say he left here very hungry which I find to be pretty unacceptable when you're paying over $20 for a plate. The original reason I knew about this place was because I heard of their hip hop brunch which I really wanted to try.. but unfortunately they don't even open until 10:30 which seems late for me. Yes, I get that it's brunch, but also a lot of people wake up and would like to hit the breakfast side of brunch and I think they're missing out of a big crowd there. I'm up at 8 or 9 usually, so to wait around til 10:30 to eat breakfast isn't going to happen. Overall, not impressed with this place for the price.. but seems to have stellar reviews, so maybe my standards are just too high. read more

My first visit to Kelowna during the Canada Day long weekend and I just had to try out this place based on the online reviews and it did not disappoint! It's such a great date night! My girlfriend and I opted for the 5 course chef's table along with the 5 beverage pairings and I was very impressed! We were told about each of the menu items and what to expect and each meal tasted wonderful. The drink pairings were also very appropriate. I think the final course/pairing was a fantastic way to end everything, I personally love anything banana and to have a banana flavoured beverage as well was very surprising and was delicious! Overall a great experience and definitely recommend! Will 100% be returning during my next visit to Kelowna. read more

Following the Yelp review from others, we decided to come here for dinner on a Saturday night. Make sure you have reservations! Yes, they're that good. When we showed up for our reservation, the hostess placed us at the bar with the option of moving back to a table later. This restaurant has an open kitchen and it was actually a great watching the three chefs whip up dishes. Seeing their teamwork and attention to detail in the kitchen was an assurance that the food will be amazing. While waiting for food, it was fun to try and guess what masterpiece the chefs are putting together as well. And as expected, the food was amazing! I ordered the Sweet N Sour Pork Belly ($27) not knowing what to expect and I was definitely blown away by what I got. It comes with quinoa and a very delicious pea puree with glazed vegetables. The pork belly was also very flavourful. The sweet and sour was perfectly balanced. My partner ordered the 8 oz Bison Bavette ($33) and she loved it as well. The bison was cooked to perfection - it was medium rare, tender and flavourful, served with beautifully roasted potatoes and caramelized onions. There was some steak sauce around the side to really give the bison a kick. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the dish, and the way the flavors of each ingredient complements each other definitely shows that. Entree items on the menu were on the pricey-er side, BUT (and I don't say this often) it was worth every single penny. We love Krafty Kitchen & Bar and recently booked the restaurant to host my husbands 40th birthday party. The entire group was beyond impressed with the level of professionalism displayed by staff; no glass left un-filled and all allergies were provided with alternative offerings that had been pre-arranged and prepared as substitutes for all courses. This was a tough crowd to please (residents from Cities such as New York who have a very high dining standard) and all were impressed with the quality and presentation of the food as well as the cocktails and vibe of the restaurant. Terrible service and reservation system. Had to wait over two hours and cancel another reservation just to be told that no tables would be opening up for another half hour. Rude and unhelpful staff. Once inside, the beer taps were definitely dirty and the floor was sticky. Food is mediocre pub food at best, but worst of all I heard one of the staff members make an inappropriate comment to the table beside me. We took 6 friends from San Diego here to experience a fun chefs meal , first the chef should see if anyone has allergies, next all courses were cold and poorly cooked it took over 3 hours to get dinner and only received 1 round of drinks , we ended up sending the dessert back as it was too dry and only got $15 dollars off the ridiculous bill of 450 avoid this place!! After posting this I see a you've chosen to place the blame an the customer,instead as a business owner you should have said it was a off night please come back so we could change your mind , but instead insulted me and my friends your right we were there the night before for a drink and devilled egg and thought to share the experience ... We asked for a side of pickle juice to try and spice up our drink. I don't even think they used Worcestershire sauce or Tabasco sauce. So disappointed. This review is not for the food, which I'm sure is good based on other reviews. This is purely for the lack of service we received. We're in Kelowna for vacation and we were excited to have a rare date night out from our kids. Krafty was my 1st choice of restaurants to try and we arrived on a Sunday night at 7:30. We didn't have a reservation but the restaurant only had a few tables full both inside and outside. The host/server who was at the door said they were totally full and couldn't seat us. There were open seats at the bar so we asked if we could sit there and again were told no, those were also booked. Really? I've never been to a restaurant where the bar seats are booked... the guy seemed very anxious to get us out of the restaurant. We asked for other recommendations and he told us to go to their sister restaurant 2 doors down that was clearly closed. Really rude and unhelpful customer service. The whole experience seemed off to us, so we walked back by after we ate at Salt & Brick (great food and service btw), and the restaurant was just as empty as it had been an hour earlier when we tried to get in. I'm not sure what the motivation was to turn away paying customers, but I won't be spending any money here in the week we're in Kelowna. read more

I had brunch here on Sunday with 5 other friends who recommended this place. I was not disappointed. The food was excellent and creative, as were the drinks. We sat on the patio on a beautiful day and really enjoyed the experience. Service was just about perfect. The ONLY reason I don't give this place 5 stars is because the music was just too loud for 6 people to talk to each other. To the credit of our waitress, they did turn it down a bit and that helped but then a while later the volume increased to very loud. I would return but only with a smaller group of people. And yes, I recommend Krafty Kitchen highly. read more

Here's the thing--the food here is really great. If you're looking for a hearty, flavorful meal, definitely go here. The deviled eggs, poutine, and Krafty Cosmo (not listed on the menu--wish it was) are all yummmmmy, among other menu options. However, the service leaves something to be desired. There's a manager/hostess/whatever--tall, blond--who completely ignored me when I walked in a couple weeks ago. As soon as a group of people came in after me, she rushed over to warmly greet them, still ignoring me. I've had similar interactions with her before. She seems very stuck up, and Krafty doesn't seem like the type of place she should be with that kind of attitude. The other servers are friendlier, but there's still been times when they are either really slow at service, or not very ready for the job. All in all, this place could easily get 5 stars if the service quality matched that of the food. Oh, and they don't offer takeout, which is a big bummer if you just want to grab something and take it to the city park on a nice day. read more

It was the worst places I've been to in Kelowna. We came here because Raudz had an reservation that took up the whole restaurant. Got recommended here, and we got seating pretty quick. The food was mediocre, considering it was close to Vancouver pricing. I went on the weekend of our friend's birthday and usually restaurants (in Vancouver) are pretty good at providing cute little treats for the birthday girl/boy. But this one, sorry it ain't happening. The server (Ben) came out with a tiny cookie & a tiny candle on top of it. He also charged us for the cookie. Sorry, but that's NOT cool. I don't mind paying a bit more if its something nice, but a cookie is way below standard. I would rather he just flat out said no. One of our friends wanted a sangria, so they had it custom made. Which was nice. It came in a large mason jar (unbelievably sweet, and felt like pure juice). The sangria costed $60! The justification was they used a bottle of wine. Funny thing was, none of us felt like there was alcohol content in there. I wanted to sound positive but everything about this place just doesn't make me want to return. Not one bit. read more

This is an okay place to eat. Just a couple things to mention - ordered the potato chips and dip and was not impressed at all. I've had the homemade potato chips at other restaurants and they always come slightly warm. These were so cold that the grease they had been deep fried in had congealed within the chip and left a coating in the mouth. The dip was so incredibly boring. It tasted like they took a few tablespoons of mayo straight from the jar and stirred something chopped in to it. I will not order that again for sure! There are so many great chip dip recipes out there so it's surprising it was so blah. What I did enjoy, albeit pricey, was the braised beef stiletto and polenta. They have two sizes and I ordered the small and that's what it was - small and $14. Looked like an appetizer. It tasted good but I'm not sure it was good enough to justify the price for the portion size. Now, the large was $26 so that would probably be a decent portion size but they need something around the $16 mark for lunch and a little bit more meat than the $14 size. My friend had the tuna loin and she was very surprised at how small the portion size was but there again, she said it was delicious. So, for a treat, it might be the place to go but there are other places I'd consider a treat and I'd choose them over this restaurant. Atmosphere was really nice. Great service! read more

Been twice now and loved this place both times. Chris did a phenomenal job as our server, not only remembering us the second time but also remembering our drink choices. The menu is nicely adventurous with ingredients being sourced as locally as possible. The Bison Tartar is amazing but the General Tsao's Tofu is my favourite. The Krafty Mac and Cheese is yummy also. Our entrees have included the Pan Roasted Halibut, Arctic Char, Octopus Salad and the Shafty Burger. All cooked to perfection, nicely flavoured and beautifully presented. Give them a try! read more

I "discovered" the Krafty after a horrible dinner at another place and decided that I will not be disappointed again. So the next evening I went to the Krafty and was proved right. Everything in this place work together, the interior, the open kitchen (which somehow always creates confidence into the chefs), the menu and the drinks. They have a good selection of locals wines, but the unfortunately do not really focus on the lovely wines produced in Okanagan. Doing that would really be a commitment to the rest of the menu. However the food was excellent. The Price was definitely according to the quality of the product delivered. Everything was made fresh (preparation took a while but it was worth waiting) and was just delicious. Go for the dry aged beef to share! Stop questioning it. Just go. We're from NYC and are admittedly spoiled in our food options. Krafty easily was our fav meal in both Vancouver and Okanagan. Simply incredible. To start, they have a solid offering of local and Cali wines by the glass. After a full day of wine tasting, this is key. I naturally went with the Church & State Syrah, followed it with the Noble Ridge Meritage. Both completely delish. To eat, we just came from a happy hour (which was just fine) so skipped apps. Hubs had the duck leg which he literally obsessed about every bite. Served with lentils and roasted carrots, the glaze was perfectly balanced. He says it was "fckin yummy" I went with the bison which was cooked extremely well. The caramelized onions were the ideal sweet compliment. The sauce was a tad too salty for me but I also didn't dig into the baby potatoes so that could have been it. To close out the meal, we had the hazelnut dessert which was bomb. A beautifully dense, rich yet not cloyingly sweet vanilla custard filled with whole hazelnuts was topped with salted dark chocolate. Amazing. The best meal of our trip so far! read more

Our hostess was lovely, however, our server was slow and forgetful without apology (ie. After being seated for 10 minutes without acknowledgement, she said "you guys look like you're ready to order!" instead of apologizing, and she continuously forgot our orders). We sat on the patio, where the kitchen vent blows onto - a great way to inhale a bunch of smoke and get covered in grease! Not the smartest setup. Attended hip hop brunch this Saturday, and while the food was good, everything else made for a pretty awful experience. We got our drinks after we got our food. The music, while great, was so loud you had to shout to talk to the person across the table. Our server checked in on us ONCE through the entire experience, we had to wave him down whenever we needed anything. I truly don't know if I've ever had such awful service at a restaurant. And once we asked for the bill and just wanted to get out of there, he took almost an extra 20 minutes to bring us the machine, then put the wrong amount in and almost charged us $20 extra. Starter on this very warm Okanagan summer day was a Gin Cucumber & Lime gimlet. Followed by a couple of awesome apps and the main course. I chose an amazingly prepared halibut absolutely perfectly cooked with warmed potato salad and seasonal fresh vegetables. Paired with a local Sauvignon Blanc, yum. Relative to other places we've tried in Kelowna, I wouldn't say the quality justified the price. We ate at many of the restaurants in Kelowna during our week long vacation there, but this is the only restaurant we came back to more than once. In fact, we came back THREE times! We came in once while waiting for a table at Raudz for a drink and an appetizer, and based off the menu, decided to come back another night. Had the steak tartare and octopus dish that night, both excellent. Came back a third night for the steak tartare (it's that good) and had the duck fat fried poutine. Everything was amazing each time we were here and the service was great. Got a fruit fly in our wine once and they replaced it with a fresh glass without us asking. If and when we are back in Kelowna, we will definitely be stopping here again! read more

Amazing food! Seriously so freaking good. Obviously a bit pricier but so worth it for their menu and atmosphere of the restaurant. Our server was very friendly and more than happy to give recommendations and walk us through food and drink menus (love this). Only complaint was how SLOW it was. Friday night and I the small place was busy, so understandably things will take longer. I was also a part of a large-ish party. However, the food took a ridiculous amount of time to come out. It got to the point where me and my girlfriends were getting hangry and wanting to complain. But besides that, it was still a great experience, will definitely return so I can start making my way through their menu! read more
