What a gem!!! As of mom of three girls, this is a home run!!! The store is located in a small shopping strip. There is a small parking lot but also street parking is available. The concept is like none other - imagine bedazzling useful items with cute charms. First, you pick an item - like a phone case or a hair clip and then you can paint it or add charms. There is a process that is clearly explained by the staff. They help facilitate your masterpiece. I'm including the price list, which I will say is a great value considering you get to personalize all the items. And I knows its a small detail, but I absolutely love the clear box package they send home the items. There is a few upcoming events - sip and craft is where you will find me!!!! My girls were asking to go back before we left!

Chris told me that this would take 2 weeks to complete. If by 2 weeks, he meant 10 weeks, then it was 2 weeks. No matter how many times I called, nobody EVER picks up the phone, so I had to keep going in to his shop (I live 25 minutes away). I asked to have pictures of the unfinished product sent to me before the work was completed to make sure I liked it, and everything was the way I wanted it (spacing, borders, colors, etc.) After 8 weeks, I finally got an email of the pictures, and it was wrong so the layout had to be changed. Finally, after 10 weeks, after the changes, I picked up the frame. Then, I gave him much more expensive cards ($2,000) to frame and told him that this can't take 10 weeks. He assured me that this time it would only take two weeks. I told him that this frame had to be the same size as the last one since I would be displaying them together. I called after 2 weeks to see if it was done, and as usual, nobody picked up the phone, so I left a message. I said the same thing as before. Make sure you send me pictures before you seal up the frame. Of course, nobody called me back, I called 4 more times that week, left 4 more messages...not ONE call back. Then, suddenly, I get an email that the frame is done. I went in and picked it up, brought it home and noticed that not only was this frame bigger than the first one, but the borders/frames around the cards were MUCH bigger than the first ones, so the white borders of the cards could not be seen. It made the cards look much smaller. They do not look like real baseball cards; they look like imitations and copies that I've seen online. The spacing of the cards in relation to the engraved plaque was off as well. I emailed Chris again (since there is no point in calling), and he told me that he was NOT going to redo the piece and it looked just fine to him. He didn't even want to hear what the issues were. It could have been a small fix. I would have even been willing to keep the larger frame but at least change the borders around the cards to they look real. Maybe it looked fine to him, but he is in the framing business, not the baseball card business. It was not what I wanted or asked for. You can see the difference in the 2 pieces. One has a slight orange frame around the card for a nice hint of color, while you can still see the white borders, and the other where the white borders are completely covered up and there is a dominating large gray frame around the card. The two look nothing alike. I was going to sue him but it wasn't worth the filing fees, or my time for $230, which I never even got a receipt for since I paid cash. So, if you want to wait 4 times longer than it should normally take for your merchandise to be completed, have your calls ignored, have zero communication with who is doing the work, and have them make their own decisions as to how YOUR items come out.... then this is your place.

Forget about the one out in Riverhead. My current hobbies are building scale plastic model and flying model rockets. These are in one aisle that I make a beeline for when I come to the store. The selection is not great, but adequate. The plastic models go on 40% off sales a few times a year and the model rockets & supplies are usually discounted 30% off MSRP. I wait for the annual clearance sale, when they knock off as much as 75% from the already discounted prices. There are also items in the clearance area with prices slashed as much as 90%. Those are usually junky, returned merchandise or damaged goods, but if you have the time to browse through there, you might come up with some gems on occasion.

We waited a while and the service bell was busted so we left. For scrapbooking, their stickers are decently priced and of course always better when on sale. There is a large selection of merchandise throughout the store, a lot of seasonal and religious items. We found ourselves making a wrong turn into the parking lot (into Whole Foods) but the parking lots are not connected so had to come out and make the correct turn. I went to this shop, and paid the owner in full for the completion of my picture. He told me it would be ready in ten days. After two weeks I went back to what I thought was to pick up my picture. The owner said that the picture was not ready yet. He went on and on saying that the price he quoted me was half the price it should be. I returned back the third week and he tried to tell me that I didn't pay for the boarders for the picture. I had a picture copy on my phone of exactly what I ordered and paid for. One month later I went to his shop again to pick up my picture. He said " I'm not giving it to you." He insinuated, I called him a racist, I never said that, He followed up by saying that if the black community on 125th Street heard you say that I am a racist ,they would spit in your face. He then screamed at me "To Get The Fuck Out Of His Shop," and then called me a Bitch! There isn't enough soap to wash off the dirt he inflicted upon me. It is my opinion and experience that all should stay away from H&M Art and Home Decor at 17 East 125th Street New York, NY 10035.
