Been going here for several years and this is the last straw! After taking in one of our puppies there yesterday with evident parvo symptoms (diarrhea, vomiting and fever) we were given two quote options one being higher with X-rays and blood work to see if they was an intestinal issue and the other lower but still over $300 option was just meds! Nothing was discussed of being tested of parvo when it's evident by a simple Google search that the symptoms of parvo were apparent in our puppy and still NO TEST FOR PARVO! We were told that if she continued to vomit that she would need to go to the er. Of course she was going to continue cause she had parvo! Called back to the vet to have her tested for parvo! In mid conversation of setting up the appointment tech comes back on and says o well we don't treat for parvo so ain't no sense of having the test done here if she more than likely has it you may as well go to the er! End result is we had to put our puppy down because she was so far into the parvo symptoms that she would not have survived treatment! How the f**k did you not even test for parvo yet charged for medicines that weren't going to work when it was obvious on how sick she was! The new Dr is a self entitled bit** who is out for money! Previously pushed a quote upon us to get our female fixed so she could not be breed when I told her continuously that we are not doing that! Do not take your dogs or puppies here AT ALL! She still continued to bleed for days I took her back they charged me for another test and more medication. She still bleed for over a week after I spent over $400 for nothing. I did my own research and found out she had a UTI. I cured her myself. They could have at least told me what was wrong with my cat. read more

I have been going to Kragness Animal Hospital for 50 years and all of my animals are blessed to have Dr Kragness attend to them. Once Dr Kragness fully retires, I will no longer take my pets there. The other doctor is not competent or knowledgeable or caring about the animals. She needs to seek another profession! Dr. Kragness is a caring and loving doctor of all living creatures. Update: since my last review, I have a new puppy. During the pandemic, it is especially hard to get her in for her shots at most vets. I tried to get her in Petco. They make you schedule online and scheduling is about 3-4 weeks out. Once I did, my appointment was cancelled because of other events so it would've had to wait another 3-4 weeks to schedule, meaning she'd be without boosters and I couldn't take her for walks. Other vets were also making you schedule appointments and either they were too far location wise or the appointments were just too inconvenient. I decided to take her to Kragness. They offered me a $10 discount for coming plus they also gave us a free bag of dog food. I thought that was really nice. The first round was over $100 (stool sample, examine, etc) but the second round is about $40. Not terribly expensive and because they required appointments before the pandemic, the process was pretty seamless. I'd also like to mention: I love how this place treats pit bulls and bully breeds. About 11 years ago, I took my boy to the vet and as soon as I walked in, the vet asked if I wanted to put him down. Mind you, he was only 9 months old. Now having more experience with dogs, I believe he may have had gastroenteritis but the vet "took care" of him. They gave him two shots in front of me, one in another room and blew a dryer on him. They said it'll help his body absorb and in 24 hours, he'd be fine. In 12 hours, he was dead. So I really appreciate Kragness, it's hard finding a place who isn't afraid of a dog simply because of its breed. read more

Wow!! Great vet! Efficient and fast check in. I was seen within 5 minutes of my scheduled appt. my dog has an ear infection. He got a deep pluck of his ear hairs. He also got his rabies updated. The entire visit took 30 minutes. He got his 3 medicines, rabies, exam and meds for $120. I used the first time customer coupon. Thanks to my partner, this will be my dog's new vet. I'm happy to recommend this puppy place. Their atmosphere is truly nice, friendly, professional. The establishment is clean, big open space. Dr. Kragness gave my pup a thorough check up, and my lil pup seemed comfortable. My family has been going to this place for over 40 years. Legendary rapport with the Kragness family. Until I brought in my dog for surgery. Having a medical condition the office manager Susan the manager called me names and insulted me simply for not being able to comply with her unlawful and Unconstitutional request. When asked for an apology I was told No. Do they do good work? Yes. Will they take care of your animal? Yes. Will Susan insult you and call you names and show hostility. Definitely. Will Dr Kragness control his venomous employee the way I control my barking dog? No. I give them 5 stars because they do good work. Very reputable. Long term legendary veterinarian family. Legacy. I was able to get time with Doctor Kragness, who thoroughly inspected my kitty: top to bottom, front and back, eyes, ears, and mouth. Gave me some good recommendations to keep her in good health for years. I brought my newly-rescued Jack Russel there and the service was very cordial and professional. The fee better than any northside establishment I have contacted/used. Since 2004 my husband's two cats received their vet care from Dr. Krageness. I joined them several times. The facility is clean and well-maintained. It was always very easy to get appointments. They got to know my husband. The staff work hard and are "no nonsense" and are great. They are very affordable. The cats boarded a few times and there were no issues. One cat lived to be 19. He got very sick at the end and was euthanized. He was curled up in my husband's lap when they administered the drugs, and it was a peaceful ending, and everyone was very compassionate. The other lived to be 21. He died at home, the night before he had an appointment to be euthanized. Before the end, they had regular well care and work on their teeth. No reservations. read more

My family has been with Kragness for a very very long time (Before 1980). When Kragness use to own it and I have to say they were very very good. Sadly, since Kragness retired, this is no longer the case. I was given pain killers after a surgery, but no antibiotics. I had to take my animal to a Vet ER after she had seizures and even the Vet thought that was odd. I felt strange with my other animals being there as well, it just didn't feel comfortable anymore. The five-star reviews here baffle me. Maybe these folks have not been to any other veterinary practice and have limited experience with good care? I don't know. Each of the at least half-dozen times I've brought my cat here, my first thought is always "Why would a business hire such a sour, unhappy, cranky receptionist?" THIS is the first impression you'd want people to have of your business? She always wears an expression of "What the hell do you want?"--you can see it in person and even hear it on the phone. One day, bringing my cat in as an emergency, she not only moved like molasses with an "I'll get to you when I feel like it" vibe, but kept answering the damn phone instead of hustling us into an exam room and summoning the vet. A coworker even said "I'll get the phone" when it rang, but she waved him off and answered FOUR CALLS before heaving a huge sigh and telling me that she'd "go find" the vet. I walked in very afraid for my kitty, but ten minutes after that was very afraid I'd punch her out. Then there's the vet. I have never, not once, not ever, gotten a complete sentence out of my mouth when describing the symptoms that led me to make an appointment. He interrupts Every. Single. Time. He's short-tempered, too. I have not for one moment ever felt like he was on my team when it came to caring for my pet. And to my repeated horror, I am expected to act as the vet tech when any procedures are required. I was told to hold my sweet cat's arms while he was blindfolded and muzzled, one leg stretched out and held by the vet and one stretched out and held by an assistant. They then tried to stab a vein in the poor animal's leg while he shrieked in terror. I burst into tears, put an end to it, and left. We will not be going back. read more

I started bringing my cats & dogs to their old facility on 61st & Wentworth over 15 yrs ago and followed them to Pullman. They go above and beyond caring for your pets and are considerate, kind, and educated. They are "watchdogs" over any animal abuse cases brought in. They are resonably priced and professional. They will not BS you ...in my case a cat that was losing it's vision and they relayed that in all likelyhood he would die in less that 1 yr. due to diabeties I decided to put my "friend " to sleep, vs. a local vet who had a miracle cure for diabeties yrs. later for another cat and (foolishly) soaked me for a couple of thousand dollars. I completely trust their judgement and highly recommend them. They have my complete confidence and trust. Dr. Kragness was very thorough and caring when he was our vet for our elderly cat, and was very compassionate when we finally had to let her go. So even though it's a little bit of a hike, we take our dogs here and once again, very compassionate and caring toward our animals. Even the one who likes to wild out a little in the waiting room. I just started bringing my dog to Kragness for their grooming services this year. The groomer there does a fantastic job. I have never been to a groom shop where they have take the time to explain to me the proper way to brush and care for my dog Snoopy. Dominique is the best groomer I've come across thus far and I hope she stays! All of the grooms that I've seen personally that she has done when I come to pick up Snoopy, I give all thumbs up.
