My cat's last day was in the care of this clinic and I had been taking him to another office but the care there wasn't personal. I saw Dr.Ennis, she was honest and empathetic. I wish I had seen her a long time ago. I wish the other clinic had just said he was in a lot pain instead of come back in 6 months. Today, I put him down today. It honestly just meant a lot someone was just transparent with him. RIP DAVEY. You gave me the world.

We put our 15 year old kitten down yesterday. He's brought us so much joy and love over the last 15 years. We are still in shock and definitely in pain considering our tremendous loss. I'm taking the time out to write this today, first and foremost, because I wanted to thank the doctor and staff who took such compassionate care for us in our time of need. Our kitty had been sick for a while, he's had surgery (at a prior location) but he just wasn't improving overall and his health continued to decline. Since being seen at this location, he had a better quality of life for his last year despite his fragility. Yesterday we had to rush him in and we were given the news that he was in pretty critical condition and we just didn't want to subject him to the long road of "let's see if this will make him better" test, procedures, diet changes, possible chemo ect..... for a kitty who had been really tough, but it was clearly his time. I know as a pet owner there are things I could have done differently to extend his life starting from when he was young but I am grateful that we got to say our goodbyes with him till his last heartbeat and breath, comfortably, and with a very clear explanation of what to expect with the euthanasia process. Nothing can ever prepare you for the loss of your furry loved one and I'm forever grateful for the compassion this clinic showed us.

Dr. Natarajan is the best! I took my little baby here after moving a few months ago and Dr. Natarajan took such great care of her! The front desk staff is always friendly, albeit they are always busy, but never too busy to help!

Trying hard to pick up the food that was dropped on the cone... Cream should have been given a Garfield ribbon instead lol

Both my cats love Metro Vet!! I had Cream neutered a couple of weeks ago. When I picked him up, he looked happy so I was sure he received good care after the surgery. Since that was my first time having my cat neutered, Metro Vet provided me thorough instructions about the things I should pay attention to after I take him home. I also received a follow-up phone call after about 2 days to check on Cream. They do care about Cream!! I'm glad I picked Metro Vet for my cats.

    Waiting for her appointment.

I've been taking my dog here for years and was referred by my two friends who both take their cats here. We've all had wonderful experiences with them. My dog is a nervous old girl and they always handle her with care. Highly recommend.

Liner is folded up when it should be unfolded before laying my cat inside so that he's kept warm.

Caution: Highway Robbery! First time dropping my cat here for boarding due to late scheduling with the regular place, Burnham Park Animal Hospital. First off, MetVet charges $72 per day of overnight boarding. This is almost 3x as much as BPAH. When I asked why it costs so much more. They responded that's just their flat fee. So no satisfactory explanation to justify the cost. And because my cat is on Rx diet, I even had to bring in my own supply of food. So that was over $500 plus my own food for 7 days' stay. That's more costly than a human staying in a economy hotel, where most even include a complimentary breakfast. Then, when I brought my fur child home today, not until I unzipped the carrier to let him out, did I notice that the fur liner was folded up and that he was just laid on top of it. I walked home with him exposed to the cold for good six blocks. They did not even bother to unfold the liner to get him tucked inside to keep him warm. It was 27F but felt like 15F outside. For a place that is AAHA certified, you would think they would be more cognizant of the well being of the client's pet. After all, I paid $72 per day. I'd expect more.

I already consulted our general vet and they mentioned it was due to the medication he was on that was making him this way. I just felt like something wasn't right and wanted to see another doctor just in case. I searched around online for the closest one to see if they would schedule us in on the same day but alot of places were not taking in any new patients. I called right when they opened and I believe I spoke with Dr. Beauchamp and explained what was going on with my boy. I was very grateful that she was able to squeeze me in on the same day. Dr. Beauchamp and their team provided such respect and care to my boy. They took a look at him and told me that he did not look well and was needed to be admitted to the hospital right away. Everything was explained to me very thoroughly and answered all the questions I had. Unfortunately, there was alot of complications going on with him that day and he didn't make it. I am extremely thankful that Dr. Beauchamp followed up with me via phone call to see how he was and did not charge me for our first visit. If we were ever to get another pet, I will be 100% taking them here.

My dog was neutered 1 week ago. Since then he has had complication after complication. 1st a bad reaction to a prescribed medication causing him to diarrhea blood for days- when we went in to address his diarrhea and dehydration there was an attempt to sell me on a fecal test for Giardia when this was CLEARLY a reaction to the medication. Then the Dr "FORGOT" to give him fluids for dehydration and sold me 3 cans of food to take home to help him. Luckily, I looked into the ingredients of the food further and realized that it contained chicken which he is allergic to. No comment at this appointment on the state of his incision. 2- Luckily because I am a nurse myself I continuously assessed his incision site and noticed that there was a severe hematoma starting to look black. I immediately called the vet to let them know that the tissue was beginning to look necrotic and he was an increased pain. They requested a photo- I sent the photo for an opinion and they NEVER RESPONDED.. 3-We went to the emergency vet they said that the incision looked extremely abnormal and that we should follow up with our vet bc he will likely need a second surgery. 4- We go back to the vet because I followed up 2 DAYS after the picture was sent and Dr asks if I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A QUOTE FOR A LASER to try to bring back life to the dying tissue. Due to my pushback, they did the laser for free. I still walked out paying $85 for more pain medication because it is now required since he's having ongoing pain due to this complication. The doctor then stated that if the tissue does not get better, he will definitely need another surgery which I am sure they are thrilled to charge me for. Not only is this place an extreme money grab, half of the staff is rude and the bedside manner is CRAZY. I brought my dog in because he was clearly in pain and one of the vet techs was grabbing his cheeks, smooshing his face around aggressively saying how cute he is when he's VISIBLY uncomfortable. I'M SO THANKFUL THAT WE DECIDED TO GO WITH A RECOMMENDATION FOR HIS NOSE AND PALATE SURGERY BECAUSE I'M CONFIDENT THAT IF WE HAD SEEN A RANDOM SURGEON AT THIS LOCATION , WE WOULD'VE HAD WAY WORSE COMPLICATIONS OR ACCORDING TO OTHER REVIEWS MAY HAVE LOST OUR DOG. Save your money and go somewhere that isn't private equity and actually cares about their patients not just $$$$$!

They then checked her anal glands which was an extra $130 without informing me prior. Then they recommended a shot for her itchy skin for $150 and cleansing wipes for $30 which I said no to. It was all done with little to no information given without me prying answers to questions out of them. As a new dog owner I'm not sure what to ask and not sure how to navigate caring for a dog and they not only didn't help they felt deceptive. The experience with booking and follow up is very good. Nice that you can book online, they text ample reminders, follow up to ask how the service was, and when I spoke to a manager about my poor experience he handled it very well. It was just the experience at the actual facility that was the problem. The tech that came in before the vet was awkward and quiet and had no answers to anything. The vet was arrogant and deceptive.

All visits and the surgery cost me over $3k. My poor dog had a scar the size of a ruler for a lump that was the size of quarter. Seemed extreme and insanely expensive. Dealing with the front desk staff was a nightmare and I had to fight to get my dog into the surgeon within a reasonable amount of time. If I hadn't fought this they were perfectly fine seeing him for surgery a month later. And this was for a lump that grew into the size of quarter in less than 5 days. The whole experience was baffling. I decided to return to this place for my dog's annual exam and vaccines due to proximity. Just tried taking my dog in for the routine annual exam along with his shots and they were asking for $600 total. Luckily they showed me the costs before jumping in to conduct the work. Last year, we did the same round of shots and the exam here and it was $325. I'm now needing to find a more affordable option. This clinic shows up at #1 on Yelp for "low cost vet in Chicago". Very wrong. Seems like a business looking to make money rather than help people take care of their animals at an affordable rate. They did call me when we were running 5 minutes late just to make sure we were on our way and that they would be able to make a profit off of us today. What an eye roll. We won't be returning. Any suggestions for other low cost options would be welcomed.

This practice USED to provide excellent care, but the decline in service has been both…read moredisappointing and concerning. I recently requested a refill for my cat's prescription diet, which is medically necessary due to a severe intolerance to regular food that causes bloody diarrhea. I was initially told the refill could not be authorized because my cat had not been seen in over a year. That statement was incorrect. My cat was seen in July 2025, and the staff eventually acknowledged that fact. After that, I was told that because my cat's regular veterinarian had moved to a different location, a new veterinarian would need to see him before the prescription could be renewed. Frankly, that explanation makes little sense. The entire purpose of a veterinary practice is continuity of care. My cat's diagnosis, history, and response to treatment are thoroughly documented in his medical record by one of your own veterinarians. If a documented medical condition and treatment plan established by your own provider cannot be relied upon by another veterinarian within the same practice, what does that say about the confidence you have in your own medical records and clinicians? Are clients expected to start over every time a veterinarian changes locations? Should established diagnoses suddenly become questionable because the original veterinarian is no longer in the building? That rationale undermines the very concept of a group practice. What is most troubling is that despite being informed that interruption of this diet could result in my cat developing bloody diarrhea, there was no apparent urgency, compassion, or effort to help. The response I received felt focused on generating another office visit rather than ensuring continuity of care for a patient with a known medical condition. The front desk staff appeared completely unbothered by the situation, despite understanding the potential consequences for my cat. Meanwhile, I continue to receive marketing emails and promotions for care plans, which seem to receive more attention than the needs of actual patients. After more than four years as a loyal client, I am deeply disappointed. This experience has completely eroded my trust in this practice. I will be transferring all of my pets' care to West Loop Veterinary Care. Shame on you for treating a loyal client--and more importantly, a sick animal--this way.
