I'm new to this store. Why would you ever go anywhere else particularly a grocery store? The staff is overly kind and friendly. The meat is high quality and they cut it how you want it. We just had South Side cater our baby shower and everything turned out wonderful! We ordered menu 1 and we (and our guests) were very happy with every item. Sent everyone home with full bellies and left overs and we still have food to enjoy for us. The hot boxes kept the food hot for hours! It's a small local business that provides quality meats with friendly customer service. Simple as that. Additionally, they make their own sides and barbecue sauce. I just tried their "Italian pasta salad with meat" for the first time and I'm in love. I could cry it's so beautiful. Stop in. Order a pig from these great guys for a pig roast. They guaranteed a Friday pick up and come Friday, my luck a northeastern storms rolls in on the pig roast day. Call them back and ask if they can store the pig for next week. With no hesitation they said no problems and that they would cover the pig with cloth to keep it fresh. Picked up my pig the following Friday and they even filled my cooler with ice. These guys kick ass and will meet all your butcher needs. Highly recommended read more

Grabbed a big Sirloin steak and some ground turkey just to try South Side out. Was not disappointed in the least. Excellent service and very friendly guys running the business. The man we had helping us offered to cut anything to size if we couldn't find anything which was nice. Also service with a smile. Couldn't ask for a better experience. The steak was fantastic. Cooked with their house rub in a cast iron pan. The house rub is good, adds a nice subtle flavor to the meat. The steak was very tender and full of flavor. The ground turkey I turned into breakfast turkey sausage. Full of flavor and not dry in the least like other grocery store ground turkey. Seriously great job guys. I'll be back and use South Side as my "go to" place in town for all my meats from now on. I agree, keep as much as your money as you can with local business if they do it right. Hands down the best place in Bristol to get your meat! It can get a little bit pricey, but you're definitely paying for the quality and service. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, and my girlfriend's family swears by them. Besides the plethora of meats available, there is also some sides and grocery items that can be purchased. My personal favorite is their beef jerky - it's thinner and crispier than your standard jerky and it has tremendous flavor. I can't believe a place like this still exists! We walked in and were immediately greeted by the nicest guy you can imagine. We knew we wanted steak for dinner, but had no clue what cut or size. He asked us a few questions and picked us out a delicious cut of meat (and seasoned it with their house seasoning) and even recommended some excellent sides they make in house. We grilled up the steak and it was one of the best we've ever had. I can't speak highly enough of this place. They really care about each and every customer and about their quality of meats. These guys are legit. I ordered a prime rib from them for Christmas, based on their good reviews, and arrived there on a fri night thinking they were open on their usual hours. Turns out they were closed from holiday hours, but they let me in anyway and allowed me to pick it up. I was amazed by their customer service and dedication to still allow me to come in. Outstanding meats and chicken. Cut and it prepared the way you like it. Different sides available, deli meats, hot dogs, rolls, etc. The service is top notch, extremely personable and friendly. The owner will go out of his way to greet you, such a nice group of people. Knowledgeable as well, will give you tips on how to cook the meat if you ask. Closed Sunday and Monday (big football fans so I'm guessing they like having game day off).
