Afterwards I stay downstairs and experienced the coffee shop. I ordered a gluten-free breakfast sandwich, which was really good. The bread was a bit firm, but I actually appreciated that since most gluten-free bread tends to fall apart. This one held up nicely. My honey latte was absolutely delicious, smooth, perfectly sweet, and beautifully made. There's also a cute outdoor seating area, great for relaxing with coffee on a nice day. Parking is on the street around the corner, since the street the shop is on is closed to cars and open to pedestrians only, which adds to the charm of the area. You order at the counter, get a number, and they bring your food right to your table. When you're finished, you clear your own dishes to the bin, which keeps the place tidy. I also noticed the staff going around regularly wiping tables and keeping everything clean and welcoming. Overall, Bloom Bake Shop has a great vibe, tasty food, and friendly service. This place is so adorable on the inside, it is small and pretty intimate, but the decor is precious! There are so many toadstools (the oversized red mushrooms with polka dots) and rainbows everywhere. Tony's specialty's are all his mom's recipes. There was a delightful selection of an assortment of sweets. Of course you can get your coffees and teas too. Each month they change their drink specials. I got a slice of their Salted Caramel Pecan Blondie and a May Specialty Latte called Fay Valentine. The Blondie was rich with caramel on the outside but decadently sweet, yet crunchy. This is an indulgence for sure! The Fay Valentine is a Banana and Peanut Butter Latte, absolutely delicious! I kept slurping long after it was gone! Please go check out the restroom at Tony's, even if nature isn't calling you to go. I have never before encountered a more magical restroom. If I tell you there's Alice herself hanging upside down from the ceiling, maybe that's enough reason to go. I had a wonderful time with my friend at Tony's Flour Shop, the staff is super helpful and friendly. I cannot wait to return.

The best word I can come up with is "lovely". Everything was lovely -the dining room, decorations, the craft goods and pricing from local artisans, the pricing, choices, quality and quantity of the foods, and especially the service and hospitality. If you want an overall lovely vibe and experience, you really need to visit. Their menu board is divided into two sections, with breakfast on the left and lunch on the right. We were there in the morning, so with breakfast on our minds we checked out the left board and saw breakfast sandwiches, bagels, a kid's menu, and a potato patty side. My wife ordered a single egg sandwich on an English Muffin ($4) with bacon ($1) and a potato patty side ($1). Now those are very reasonable prices, so I really don't agree with some of the price bashing I've seen on this page. I ordered what turned out to be one of the very best breakfast sandwiches I've had in months. My Breakfast BLT was a feast of toasted rye bread, lettuce, tomato, bacon, cheese, and two fried eggs. It kept me full for half the day, and at $10.50 was worth every penny. Village Market's coffees are sourced from "Those Guys Coffee Company" out of New Hartford. Our coffee was excellent ($3 for a 12-ounce cup). Oh, and there is one more reason why our visit was lovely - our conversations and interactions with Evelyn. She and her daughter are owners, and she was super friendly, and just a real pleasure to meet and chat with. And to add one more reason to visit is this -they also sell ice cream! Located in Unionville pretty close to the Farmington River, this adorable coffee shop will provide you the fuel before or after your walk. They offer lunch, breakfast and coffee options. They have a spacious interior as well as a few tables outside. Their large menu of coffee, teas and energy drinks was intriguing. I had to get the Peeps Latte when I saw it listed on their Specials menu. It was ready quickly. This was adorable looking, it had three colorful peeps sitting on top of the marshmallow cold foam. This vanilla based latte, was equally tasty as it was looking. After my pick me up, I picked myself up and went for a walk, the trial is really intended for cyclists, but we made do. That gave us the perfect opportunity to stop at a place we've driven by a zillion times. Rebel Dog Coffee's area shops have been on our radar for years, and yesterday we finally checked their Farmington location. It's in a strip mall shopping plaza right next to a Nardelli's more or less where Route 6 crosses Fienneman Road/Birdseye Road. Their Dog Pack has four Rebel Dog members spread out around the Greater Hartford area and some of their coffees can be found in local supermarkets. Their Farmington store is very large and comfortable, with plenty of space between the customer tables. The dining room was fairly crowded when we arrived, with people socializing and banging away on their laptops. Rebel Dog has a very deep offering of coffee drinks and food choices, Want a coffee? Well, you best be ready to choose among single or double espressos (with or without foam of whipped cream or steamed milk, lattes. Cappuccinos, mochas, and Americanos, light-dark-or decaf drip coffees, French Press, Pour Overs, teas, jot chocolates and a ton more. You can even get a growler of coffee, tea, or kombucha. I never saw that before. Now, what good is a morning coffee without something to munch alongside it? No worries, because the Dog has you covered with everything from "Build Your Own" breakfast sandwiches, six egg Benedicts, oatmeal, yogurt & granola, fruit cups, and pastries. If you arrive later in the day, your options might include soups, salads, sandwiches, grilled cheese and burgers. Our breakfast order was a cup of their Steady Habits light house blend (a medium-light roast, smooth and sweet with notes of roasted nuts, fig, and caramel), a cup of their Big Red Truck Dark Roast (a blend of both washed process and natural process Colombian coffees for a rich and layered coffee with notes of dark chocolate, crème brûlée, and warm spices), a "build Your Own" Breakfast Bagel Sandwich and an order of Avocado Toast. With tax and tip, everything totaled under $25. The sandwich we built contained ham and an egg on an Everything Bagel and we had zero complaints about it. My Avocado Toast (no added egg or protein) was wonderful. It was a thick slice of homemade multigrain bread topped with a very generous blanket of smashed avocado. The teenage staff working here are super friendly, knowledgeable and ready to offer suggestions. On the walls they have very interesting artwork. The bottom half of their framed artwork is painted a single color, together with the frame. I have never seen this before. At first I thought they were trying to disguise something on the painting using tape, but it's actually paint. This is consistent among all of their paintings. Our coffees were very tasty, naturally very sweet, but very well crafted. The waffle was a bit too dry for my preference. After doing some other things in the area, we returned for lunch. We got Avocado Toast and a Sweet Potato Quesadilla. First, the portion size of the quesadilla was plenty big for us two. This was a tortilla filled with sweet potatoes, mozzarella, spinach and cheddar. It was very thin and very warm and melty. Eatery is also in Wallingford, and Giv's flagship is in Canton. Eatery has some traditional and creative sandwiches. They also have bowls, salads, etc. This is a dream collaboration between one of my favorite Sandwich Plus Shops, and one of my favorite New England Coffee Roasters Giv. I've been a few times already. On the sandwich side, I've had an Eatery BEC and a Chipotle Roast Beef Melt. Both on fresh ciabatta. I believe The Eatery uses "Bread and Chocolate" Ciabatta out of Hamden. The ingredients of the sandwiches were high quality, and the sandwiches are reasonably priced. Also, if you like sweet and sour pickles, The Eatery House Pickles are amazing. I've had 3 Black Cold Brews now. With the Giv beans, the coffee was top notch. Service was friendly. I'm a big fan of the Eatery owners. They set a great tone for the vibe of a cafe. The space is very nice and there is over 180 degrees of windows and natural light. There is plenty of comfortable seating. There is outdoor seating as well.
