Most of the furniture and artwork leaned toward the pricier side, as you'd expect, but still very reasonable for what they were. The size of this place is what really blew me away. It spans four floors, each packed with a massive variety of treasures to dig through. You'll find everything from jewelry, furniture, and vintage clothing to records, comic books, cameras, and antique household items. Just when you think you've seen it all, another room or section opens up with even more to explore--it's like the store never stops unfolding. The staff at the front counter was incredibly welcoming. They immediately struck up a friendly conversation with us and even tossed out a few compliments, which added a personal touch to the experience. This is the kind of place that surprises you--you may not know what you're looking for, but you'll likely leave with something perfect. Whether you're a collector, a casual browser, or just looking for a fun afternoon adventure, this place is definitely worth the visit.

Banyan Tree is a well-loved local boutique. They were recently honored as 2025 best women's…read moreclothing store. They also happen to be one of the more long-standing local boutiques in the city. I recently dropped in at their Tremont location after walking around in the midst of winter in Tremont, and developing a need for gloves. AMBIANCE: Banyan Tree currently has an inviting window display with a word "Joy." The storefront has two spacious rooms that feel cozy. Inside you'll find wood accents, and a comfy couch to recline while shopping. Checkout is available in the first room as you walk into the space. INVENTORY: The inventory is predominantly women's fashion. You'll find a unifying theme - comforting fabrics, sparkles, and lots of hand-knit accessories. The best way to describe the vibe is lounge chic. The clothes you'll find here will allow you maximum comfort as you venture out in Tremont and beyond. The clothing looks well made and unique while following the latest trends. The prices are on the higher end starting at about $90 something. Accessories are reasonably priced starting at $20 something. I'm not fully satisfied with the clothing inventory because the sizes go up to L and one size. I wear a plus size so I can only drool while looking at the clothing. I wish that I could also shop here and enhance my wardrobe. In that way, sizing is not inclusive. There are also smaller gifts and accessories at the store - journals, books, purses, statues, and more. Few categories have sales - ornaments and summer clothing. The sale is 40% off. MY PURCHASE: I purchased knit gloves from Banyan Tree. The price was $22. The brand is Figwood, was designed by Banyan Tree in Cleveland. It is a brand exclusive to Banyan Tree. It was sustainably produced in Bali. Imagine someone in Bali knitting gloves and knowing nothing about our winters. I find this very endearing. There are plenty other Figwood items for purchase that are made in Bali and Thailand. The gloves have a simple design but are chunky. They also have top of the glove removal so that you don't have to de-glove every single time. I found other glove designs to be awkward. They were missing top part of the fingertips which seems like the very reason you'd glove. Maybe I'm not on trend. They also have very few gloves in store due to the end of season. Seems like the season is just beginning and winter is ramping up. SERVICE: The service is attentive and personalized. I was offered assistance with glove shopping. The sales associate was really warm and friendly. I enjoyed my experience at the store. Unfortunately, I'll probably seldom stop in because the clothing sizes are not accommodating to me. I'll visit once in a while if I'm ever in need of well made accessories or gifts. Most importantly, the store is a feel good store in terms of supporting consciously made clothing and supporting women across the globe.

I always get compliments when I'm wearing something from Banyan Tree. They have an online store if like me you don't live in the Cleveland area. Their store is worth visiting though if you are in town. It's quite spacious and is located near some great restaurants, bars, and galleries if you want to make a day of it in Tremont.

Quickly I found some really nice books for the kids. Many of the books have music, drawing pads, etc. They have books of every type, fiction, non-fiction, cookbooks, novels, history and so much more. The sale on K-Cups are really good. I couldn't believe how they have Keto, Organics, Atkins to name a few. I was shocked that they had bags of BLACK WALNUTS you know how expensive and rare these are to get. The bags are 1-1/2 cups for under $2.99. The have light popcorn and buttered 3-pack for .99 cents. Sofa pillows, rugs, wall art / decor, frames, lamps, curtains for your home. I only got through 2/3 of the store and I decided it was time for me to go as I had many items in my cart. I did sneak a peak at the other side o did not visit and I did see some outdoorsy clothes, like Mossy Oak. Although I know I picked up some really cool clothes, books, snacks and such I felt that I really racked up a big bill, to my surprise when the cashier told me what the total was it was way less than expected. Score!!! If you like the store and you are visiting for the first time sign up for Ollies Army card. It's just a card that you can use in each of your visits that accumulates points for future discounts. Just remember to complete the sign up on your phone or computer. They gave me a 15 percent discount on next visit. That's a great discount on there already low prices.

Attention Baby Boomers and all others who have some spare time to take a leisurely trip to Cleveland and enjoy searching for a special furniture find. This establishment is a real find! Huge old factory filled to the brim with every kind of furniture, fabrics and on site upholsterers including antiques, retro, mid century modern, French antiques, mirrors, art moderne, classic colonial, danish modern and boho just to name a few. Despite the size of this place, and it is huge, its remarkably dust free and well organized. They also offer many services that you may find helpful i.e., house staging, downsizing services, consignment, trade-in specialty paints and beautiful fabrics with onsite upholsterers. Plan on spending a decent amount of time here - there is no quick way to take it all in except spend the time and familiarize yourself - maybe next time you can skip some of the areas that you are not particularly interested in. You might want to stop at Galucci's Italian market, close proximity to Little Italy and may I suggest Mia Bella - the oyster bar is a fun place to sit with plenty of top notch food and oysters, drinks are fab. The chef's at the oyster bar will explain all the nuances of the different oysters and curate a selection for you. YUM!

Do not trust anything VNTG or its owner!!!…read more I purchased small pieces from VNTG with good luck over the years, and used to loved going there to shop whenever they had sales. Because of this, I consulted and paid VNTG to reupholster a large amount of antique furniture that was my mother's and grandmother's. It took weeks longer than expected to get it back, but the first part turned out fine. When the initial reupholstered furniture was returned, we made arrangements with VNTG to pick up several pieces of antique furniture to sell on consignment. The furniture included various antique chairs and other pieces, plus a baby grand piano -- all in good condition. It took two trips for VTNG to pick it all up. We were promised both trips I was told that Michael would email us a consignment contract as soon as the furniture arrived at VNTG's warehouse store. After months and months of back and forth, I confirmed with the woman who had made the pickup arrangements that, yes, she remembers well the furniture being picked up, delivered to VNTG, -- and that their movers had damaged the grand piano moving it. She remembers this because this was all at the beginning of the pandemic and they were having trouble getting good movers willing to move the piano. Again I was promised that she would make sure "Michael" would call me to resolve and make sure to send me the consignment contract within a day or so. More weeks and months of back and forth letting VNTG know they had our furniture and Michael still had not sent us our consignment contract. Still nothing! Just broken promises. Never a return call. Finally, I went to VNTG to look for my furniture myself. I scoured the entire warehouse, loading docs, every room, everything. All of it, literally all of it, VNTG had already sold during the months waiting on "Michael or someone" to get us our contract. Not a single piece of my furniture was still at VNTG. At that time, the woman working said she didn't know what might have happened. I was told to call back and talk to their office manager. After numerous attempts over several days, I finally managed to catch VNTG's office manager by phone. She seemed to be the most honest person I'd talked to there and sounded completely deflated. She said she quitting after working there for about a year and only had a a few days left. She shared she was leaving because she spends all day getting nothing but complaints just like mine, passing them on, only to get a call back again that no one from VNTG was responding but her. She admitted that VNTG doesn't keep good records of what comes in, from whom, or when and who it is sold to. She said Michael never returns calls. She suggested I talk directly to the owner and she would have the owner call me back right away. I had to insist she give me the owner's cell phone number just in case I didn't get a return call. The owner, like everyone else, never returned my call. Two days later, (because I had insisted on getting the owner's cell in advance) I called the owner and told her the whole history -- names of people I had worked with; details of the furniture picked up by VNTG; the movers dropping and breaking a leg on the grand piano; who I had followed up with; what happened each time (i.e., Michael or "someone" was supposed to contact me, never got a call back ever; and that they had sold my furniture without paying me. The owner, who was at the Cleveland airport and was flying back into Cleveland at this time, promised me she would personally look into it as she was heading to the VNGT store from the airport. She confirmed she had my phone number on her cell and would be back in touch. That was a year ago. I have never heard back from the owner or anyone at VNTG! MY ANTIQUE FURNITURE AND BABY GRAND PIANO WHICH, KNOWING VNTG'S PRICING, WOULD HAVE SOLD FOR THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IS GONE! VNTG SOLD IT AND NEVER PAID ME MY PART OF THE PROCEEDS (HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!) Furthermore, I have learned that VNTG doesn't do its own upholstering any more. The first part of what they upholstered for me (my grandmother's and Mother's antiques) they did in house. The second part (three bar stools) was outsourced and they failed to inform me. It took more than a month longer than promised to get back. In the end, I had to pick it up at the third-party outsourcer myself because VNTG was so unreliable. I cannot discourage you enough from trusting VNTG. When the owner knows what is going on and that her customers are being lied to and cheated then does nothing -- you know that behavior is condoned by the owner herself.

Located on Richmond Road just South of Miles, Thriftique is easy to miss since it is a fairly nondescript building with a small sign, but it is worth your time to find. Inside you find a nice store stocked with high quality products. Thriftique is run by the National Council of Jewish Women so there is a bit of a Jewish flavor but they also generally get really good donations. The store what looks to be a good selection of women's clothing and a smaller selection of men's clothing. For the men's clothes it is a good place to find suits, shirts and shoes. Prices are a bit higher then many thrift stores, but you are getting what you pay for. On a recent visit they were having a closeout where some clothes were either $5 or $1, although it was a bit confusing over which items were in each price range. Thriftique has great decor pieces and miscellaneous. The mix is weighted towards good stuff and I really haven't seen any junk or items that are way overpriced. Where Thriftique really shines is that they have a large selection of excellent furniture. You will find a number of couches, chairs, tables and other large items. If you are looking for better items at discount prices Thriftique is well worth a stop, you may pay a bit more, but you do get value for what you pay. The money goes to a great cause. Give them a try.
