Great chicken relatively fast service great aesthetic, but the burgers are kind of meh

It seems like this place is always busy every time I'm here or I go by. When I was there a crowd of older ladies were there for some type of get together, so they were busy. I was greeted rather promptly by a young man very cheerfully. I asked him a couple of questions about the menu, which he was very knowledgeable about. He took my order and then I waited as it was to-go. I didn't wait too long and it was done. We ordered breaded chicken sandwich, fries, onion rings, cheeseburgers, and hot fudge shakes. Everything was great and the proper toppings were added as ordered. Cheeseburgers had great flavor as well as everything else. This place has the BEST ice cream!!!! Every time I've been in there the place has always been clean. The reasons I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's pricy especially for fast food. The quality is great, just rather expensive. Also they don't have brewed ice tea and the fountain pop didn't taste the best. In general, I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a good place to eat especially if you want some excellent ice cream! read more

Everything g I've ever had here, whether in the 70s when I was in high school or any time throughout the years, has been delicious. The people are great and I love the fact that the interior is much the same as back in the day. They have a lot of loyal customers who eat there regularly. I like taking my nieces and nephews here. Food is delicious and made to order (so it might take a while). Sole complaint is that the tap water isn't filtered so it doesn't taste as good as it should if ordering from a restaurant. read more

First visit and had a 1/2 pound cheeseburger and fries. Burger and fries were delicious, been craving them ever since. I thought the establishment was clean and a retro feel that reminded me of my youth. I will most definitely be returning. read more

The dining room is somewhat dated but in good condition and very clean. The food was great, especially the tomato on the burger as well as the onion rings. The counter person was friendly and knowledgeable about the food and made good recommendations for the best burger. Glad we didn't try Sonic-we've never found their food very good and by far Kreamy Kup beats them, hands down! read more

Counter service here was awesome. Very friendly. Restaurant seemed clean although just a little outdated. The food was actually just Soso. Seemed thawed from frozen. I wasn't even sure if the hamburger patties were fresh. The main draw for this place is the ice cream. It has an amazing vanilla flavor and is incredibly creamy. My sister got the chicken and thought it was pretty good although the sides were obviously premade as well. My friend got a butterscotch sundae and the server spilled ice cream down the side of the cup. She reached down under the counter and picked up an old sponge to wipe the cup off with which was kind of gross. Probably wouldn't come back for the food again but definitely the ice cream. read more

My family came for ice cream and we weren't disappointed. My husband ordered a brownie sundae with butterscotch topping, my daughter ordered a chocolate milkshake, my son ordered a chocolate cyclone with peanut butter cups, and I ordered a chocolate cyclone with brownie. They were all rich, creamy and delicious. The dining room and the women's bathroom were both clean, and the kitchen smelled exactly as it should, like a yummy diner. The interior decor is old and charming, and you can tell this place has been around awhile. Oh, and the employees were friendly and task oriented. As soon as the orders slowed, they started cleaning. If we ever return to Wamego, we'll come back again for dessert and probably a Reuben or some broasted chicken! read more

Holy cow, this was probably the worst restaurant I have ever been in. Where do I start? Setting: The place smelled like an old crawlspace filled with dead rats. The booths were beat up. The menus looked like they hadn't been changed since 1984. Service: I love it when someone makes me feel like I'm putting them out just by coming into the place they work. The service was unfriendly, slow, and the prices on the food were WAY too high for what we got. I would have put up with all of that but... The food: Possibly the worst food I have ever had in a place calling itself a restaurant. My cheese steak tasted like dog food heated up in a microwave. The onion rings tasted musty, HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN? My wife got a rib eye sandwich but they must have aimed a little off because she said it tasted like liver. I noticed that most people who came in ordered ice cream, maybe they can do that well I wouldn't know, I ate a couple of bites of my disgusting garbage food and went to the McDonald's next door... Not that I love McDonald's but after eating this trash drinking straight stomach acid would be preferable. read more

Perfect little greasy spoon in a small town. Every time I have been, I have seen the same regulars, old farmers in their overalls and dusty hats sitting at their table drinking coffee and having ice cream. The rueben sandwhich is very tasty, but I must rave about the Broasters Fried Chicken. It is probably the best fried chicken I have ever tasted. They make it fresh to order, so you may have to wait a few minutes, but I garauntee its worth the wait. The ice cream and shakes are delicious, and its a cozy small town retro feeling place to sit and waste an afternoon. read more

I love the chicken philly. Kind of pricey though. The decor is very old fashioned, like from the 70's, but that only adds to the experience. Best ice cream around. If you love great fried chicken, order the Broasters Chicken with a side of cold slaw. My wife and I order the eight piece with a large side of slaw. Total price is $14.03 and we get two meals out of it. The chicken is to die for, and in my opinion, puts KFC to shame. Yeah the place is bit old style, but we always we our order to go. If you want some good ice cream or shakes for desert, you should get them here too. The service has always be great and courteous. read more

I was there yesterday with my wife, and went through the Drive Thru. We placed our order, and it was read back to us correctly, but we weren't given a total price at the speaker. We pulled to the window, after paying we waited and eventually received a bag with part of our order in it. A few seconds later somebody came over to the window to ask if we received our drink, we hadn't. It took them a few minutes to pour an iced tea while the food that we did receive got cold. After receiving the drink, the window attendant acted like that completed our order. We informed her that we were missing part of our order, and what the items were. She proceeded to tell us that the order taker, who read back the order to us correctly, neglected to actually put in the order or charge us for those items. She said if we still wanted the items we'd need to pay for them. We mentioned that the order taker is the one that messed up, we'd already paid, and our other food was getting cold by this point. They insisted that we pay for the extra items that they neglected to ring up if we wanted them. The original order taker apologized a few times but made no offer to replace our cold food, or comp our missing items. So we paid for the missing items, and again waited while our food got cold to receive the missing items. read more
