The Raising Canes in Manhattan is a fantastic example of what each Cane's franchise should be. This restaurant is almost always busy but with how quick the service is it hardly feels like a wait. I recently visited with several friends and we were greeted with a line that was literally out the door. However, due to the quick service we had our food at our table within 15 minutes of walking through the front door. We each ordered a box combo and everything was incredibly fresh, hot, and flavorful. I feel that the value is generally good when going to Canes. Occasionally there are some questionably undersized strips but this was not an issue on this visit. Overall the restaurant was surprisingly clean considering the volume of customers and high rate of table turnover. I went through the drive thru. I have never tried Raising Cane's until today. In anticipation of hot crispy fries and hot flavorful, crunchy chicken, I opened the box to try the fries, they were cold and mushy. I then tried the chicken, it was luke warm and the taste of old fryer oil filled my mouth. It was disgusting. I did not go back to let them know because the fryer oil would still be dirty. Although the staff was busy, they exceeded customer service and cleanliness levels, making my first experience memorable. The chicken tenders were juicy and crispy but one had a piece of the silver skin that wasn't properly removed. That was my biggest disappointment, next to the portion size of the coleslaw, but the fries were crispy and delicious. The sauce selection offered was a single special sauce and ketchup, however; the addition of malt vinegar and hot sauce would be well received. Just tried this place and overall I was pretty impressed. We had never seen or heard of Raising Cane's before seeing this location, so we had no idea what to expect. It's a very simple menu with varying amounts of chicken fingers with fries, Texas toast, some dipping sauce, and a drink. Then two of the combos also include coleslaw. The sandwich combo I believe is just fries and a drink and they also have a kids combo available. The chicken and fries are made to order and come out hot and fresh. My husband and I both agreed that it's better than KFC. All the sides are interchangeable, so after reading the other reviews I thought I would need more sauce and ordered an extra sauce instead of the toast but I didn't even finish one sauce and I dipped every bite of chicken and most of the fries. So one should be plenty. The sauce tastes like thousand island with salt and pepper. I did try my husband's toast and I thought it was really good! Better than other places I've tried. Next time I will just get the toast. We also really loved the crinkle-cut fries. Fresh and slightly crispy. The meals come with a fountain drink or for an extra charge there's lemonade and bottled water. The sweet tea is great though! And our two meals were only $14. It was cold inside but we came prepared with jackets. It's a great little place and we'll definitely be back the next time we're craving fried chicken. read more

The breading and the chicken quality were really good! Super simple menu so better be good with what you get. No choices on sides or dipping sauce, but they were pretty good so I got over it. So here's the down side... the dining room was so cold I couldn't wait to leave. The chicken here is so fresh and juicy with a lovely crisp breading. The fries are very nice and the tea unsweetened and cane-sugar sweetened is very mellow. Garlic bread is a delicious surprise they add to every basket. BUT they don't have barbecue sauce! Only their Cane sauce, which is nice but my kids won't eat it. Went to this location in Manhattan, Kansas location at 329 E Poyntz Ave Manhattan, KS 66502 United States and got a caniac combo. I then began to have sharp pains in my stomach and within the next hour it was coming out of both ends. I spoke with a manager who told me there's nothing she can do and to call the health department. She then says it's probably something I ate yesterday completely negating the fact that I literally just ate their food. No empathy, no hospitality... Pretty good. The two times we've been they have gotten our order wrong. Which is a bit frustrating when the sauce is too spicy for your kid and you get home to find it all over his sandwich. Although there is a Raising Cane's in my neighborhood, I have never had the desire to go before. In the area where I was in Manhattan Kansas, I was right in front of the business when I decided I would go in and try it. First off the location is kind of weird. If you've ever been to Manhattan Kansas you know that it's clogged with all kinds of restaurants and shopping and cars. Raising Cane's building kind of gets lost in all of that. If you're not from Manhattan and you don't have your GPS showing you how to get there I guarantee you'll never find it. I just happened to be right in front of it when I decided to go in. First off the restaurant is fairly clean but as I walked in a girl working the counter with shouting orders to the back. This would make sense if you were in a bar where there was music and television going on at the same time and she had to raise her voice to be heard, but it was a little off-putting to hear it when there was nothing but customers eating in the dining room. So you can imagine how loud she sounded as I walked toward the counter. The menu is simple oh, not too many choices to choose from. I chose the sandwich combo. First the chicken itself. Being that it is chicken fingers, I'm not impressed by that. What I will say is that they were hot and they were pretty soft to chew and and not dried out. But it lacked flavor. A little seasoning would have been nice. The fries were blah. I don't like thick cut fries oh, so the fact that these were thinly cut I do appreciate however seasoning would help these fries as well. I don't know maybe it's the Chef Ramsay in me, but I'm all about flavor and although these chicken fingers or hot and fresh and very tasty it just could have been bumped up more with some flavor. Now open on Highway 24 East. This place is a fast food restaurant thats theme is chicken fingers and a simple menu. The good; Chicken fingers are good, fries are good, and they have a coke freestyle soda machine. The bad; parking is bad, parking lot layout is bad and restaurant layout is bad. The real reason I decided to do this review was to honestly complain about all the additional up-charges during my most recent visit. So lemonade is an up-charge then its an additional up-charge to get a refill. The special sauce is an up-charge for additional micro cups. I spoke to the manager on duty and the manager stated "I can just give it to you" after I asked what was the deal with all the up-charges. Im just confused as to why all the up-charges after I spend almost $40.00 on a family chicken finger dinner. It seems like they could provide me with a lemonade refill with no additional up-charge after Ive already paid an initial up-charge.
