We loved our experience at Kreider Farms. Lisa was our guide and she was very friendly and she answered all our questions very nicely. The tour was interesting. We learned details about the history of the farm, we got a small bottle of cold milk which was perfect for the hot weather! We loved going up to the top of the silo. The view was fantastic. We took pictures there and we got a great workout going up! I totally recommend this place. If you are in Lancaster, make this tour part of your itinerary. read more

Interesting tour of a modern dairy farm. The tour guide (Lisa) and bus driver (Carla) were both very pleasant and knowledgable. Fun day.

We came here for a tour of the dairy farm. We met at the visitor center were we waited to board our shuttle to the farm. While waiting for everyone to arrive, we were shown a video on the history of the farm The farm is located a few miles from the center. There were about twenty people on our tour. Our guide was very knowledge and explained the milking process as well as the poultry farm. So many fascinating facts. We were able to get out and view the milking carousel, silo and nursery. We were each given a sample of fresh milk. Very interesting to see the inner workings of a farm. We love these kinds of tours and this did not disappoint. read more

I cannot say enough about me experience starting with the excellent customer service on the phone booking all the way to the end of the tour. When I looked on the calendar the date I wanted (which was my Birthday) was not available but when I called they said they could open the date but it had to be 10 people. I said I would guarantee payment of any unpaid seats. Luckily 6 other people made a reservation but it was so nice to have a small group! The weather was beautiful and warm, the tour guide was knowledgeable and funny, the driver was also very friendly! We learned a lot about the history of the farm. It was great so see the animals up close! I highly recommend this tour, only 90 minutes but so much fun!!! read more

Excellent guides led us on a bus tour to the into this vast farm, through the cattle barns and a walking tour through the milking house where we watched several hundred cows moving into, around the milking carousel, and back out to their barn. It was an impressive sight watching three employees prepare and attach the milking cups to each. We learned much about the hard work of feeding, milking and caring for the animals. read more

Customer Service is excellent, we had to make a time change and one person was not able to go, Debora helped us with everything, she is awesome! We went on the tour this Saturday (10-11-19). The bus driver and the tour guide were excellent! When we went through the nursery barn, we witnessed a cow giving birth, the bus driver stopped to allow us to watch, the guide explained it may take a while and we would come back. Went back and got the chance to see mommy cleaning her baby and nudging her to stand, it was terrific! I'll be booking another tour soon to take the person that couldn't go and of course so I can go again, it was a wonderful experience! read more

First time going. Had a great time with our 2 boys 8/10 years old. My son who hates farm smells did really well until the cow pooped but that's to be expected! Cool driving through the cow maternity ward. I was hoping to see a birth. Guide Craig was great, trolley was really fun to ride in. Milk was a nice touch, and the silo not for the faint of heart! This is a nice farm tour. Very nice and simply. You take a bus and see the cows. We saw a calfs birth. It was magical.

We loved our visit.. it was fun for the kids and we learned a lot. We got to see a cow in labor, and the kids were really excited to see the cows getting milked on the carrousel. I felt this was not kid friendly at all . First the bus driver was 10 minutes late. A schedule is a schedule. They wanted us their early, and he is late. No baby calf's for the kids to see or pet. Was just very boring and adult for a child. read more

I purchased a dozen Kreider Farms eggs and I was wondering why they tasted so odd. I thought I'd contact them to ask what they feed their hens, and this was their reply. "The diet is balanced and includes corn, soybean meal, canola meal, distillers dried grains and meat and bone meal" Sooo, I am glad I asked! Chickens are not supposed to eat corn or soy products, also, chickens are omnivorous, so need to be able to eat the following: a variety of plants, seeds, insects and worms typically found in pastures. By feeding corn to hens, like Kreider does, they hens bulk up fast. Corn feed provides more than enough calories, which causes the inactive chickens to bulk up quickly, but it's too low in fatty acids and certain amino acids, vitamins and minerals for chickens to thrive. Corn-fed chickens need antibiotics and hormones in order to thwart infection and grow quickly. Also, why are they feeding soybean MEAL? and canola MEAL? and bone MEAL? Oh, that's right, because they do not care about the health of their hens or the health of their customers who eat the eggs that these unhealthy hens produce. Kreider only cares about their profit margin. read more

Wonderful tour. A real teaching moment for our homeschoolers. Jeff, our tour guide, was very personable and made the tour quite enjoyable. My husband and I took a tour of the dairy farm and got to see how the cows get milked via machines. It was an eye opener and I felt a bit sad for the cows to see how they are kept together in such close quarters with no time outside.
