I saw a Groupon deal advertised for a dermaplane facial. I called to make sure I could get an appointment before I purchased the Groupon. The woman on the phone stated that she could fit me in same day and that I did not have to purchase the Groupon and that she would just honor the price in person. I figured that would be preferred for them as they wouldn't get fees deducted from Groupon and I wanted to support a local small business. I came on time and only had to wait a short while before I was seen. The facial itself was fine. I was left alone for a long time with my eyes covered and face mask on without being informed about the length. It wasn't super relaxing because it's not really a spa-like environment and just in a salon so you just hear everything going on but it wasn't advertised as such so that's not really a negative. I do think that the esthetician should explain each steps they were going to perform and also have a form or a conversation where they discussed allergies or restrictions. I am use to that at procedure most other establishments to avoid negative reactions and experience. My only real complaint is with the check out process. I was charged and extra $4 because I paid with credit card supposedly due to "credit card fees" because I didn't have enough cash on me. They did match the Groupon price but I should have just purchased the Groupon because I ended up paying more for the service due to the extra fees than I would have otherwise. I think that was not fair and not explained well. Unfortunately, I would not be returning. The staff was nice and I did not mind my facial but I would recommend the staff be more transparent and informative. read more

I got a dermaplaning treatment and lash lift done here a while back, and unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. During the dermaplaning, my shoulder was burned -- something I wasn't even informed about at the time. The scar is still visible. As for the lash lift, it barely lasted -- definitely not worth the money and damaged my lashes for some time. In hindsight, I would recommend going to a licensed professional or medical spa for these services. The unprofessional vibe. I purchased a coupon on Groupon and booked my appointment, only to be refused service when I arrived. I drove an hour to get there, waited 20 minutes, and then was told they wouldn't honor my appointment because I booked through Groupon and they "only make $20" from it -- even though I paid much more. They said I should have called them directly, even though I followed Groupon's instructions. This was extremely unprofessional and a complete waste of my time. I went in for hybrid eyelash extensions, but my experience was disappointing. Throughout the appointment, the lash tech kept talking to her coworker, which was distracting. She had to raise her voice to talk, and it was uncomfortable since she was working so close to my eyes. Midway through, she informed me that she wasn't going to do the hybrid set, which was shocking because that's what I had booked and paid for. She didn't even give me the hybrid lashes but still charged me for them. My lashes started falling out almost immediately, and they look terrible. I've had lash techs before who might get a little glue in your eye, but at least the lashes last for weeks. Not this time. I spent $139 for something I didn't ask for, and despite their assurances of doing a good job, they did not deliver. Save your money and avoid this place. read more

Let me start off by saying one of my good friends recommended this place that she gets her lashes done. So I went in to go get my eyebrows done $540 later with $100 tip mind you. One eyebrow was different from the other way off that I got many people telling me that they were way off so I called Kris the owner. I had to wait six weeks for a touchup now when I called, they told me touchup was included. FYI it was not. I learned that after I was done with Kris retouching my eyebrow because it was her error. She did not think that anything was wrong with them. Of course she wouldn't as she was done. She asked me how I would like to pay told me it was gonna be $100 for some thing that she messed up in the first place, I walked out, did not pay the hundred dollars because I believe that was her error not mine. She also harassed my friend with three phone calls in one day asking my friend to talk to me and she wants her hundred dollars she is not getting that hundred dollars from me for her error. So make sure before you walk into this place. You ask lots of questions so you're not hit with the fee that you thought and you were told you did not have to pay. I uploaded a picture here so I can show you that my eyebrows were not twins yet the owner Chris didn't think anything was wrong with them. Shame on her if this was me and my client came in and this is my name on this clients eyebrows I would be delighted to fix them for free as she should have, but this money hungry woman wanted her hundred dollars so bad she could take that hundred dollar tip. They called me telling me I could go in earlier if I wanted since they were pretty much free the entire day, but I couldn't so I just went in at my scheduled time. There was only one lash technician and she was running around perming my lashes and doing another lady's lashes and kept leaving me alone with my eyes glued shut for long periods of time. The front desk receptionist also kept hovered over me(?) not sure why but I could literally hear her breathing over me. The lash technician also left the perming solution for longer than necessary on my lashes, and there are so many that just broke off. The left eye looks ridiculously ugly and I can't fix it, and the perm on the right eye lasted 1 day before starting to lose the shape. I've gotten many lash perms before, and this was the most unprofessional. She didn't know what my appointment was until I reminded her in the chair, and she never bothered to ask for what shape curl I wanted. read more

The place is clean and workers are sweet. I showed my lady a picture of what I wanted for reference. The lashes were a Glam set with a few Whispy lashes in between. She told me she knew what to do. When she was done I looked like I had a mascara set on. I was so bothered but just wanted to get out. I paid 120$ for lashes that I was not happy with. My bottom lashes were getting stuck too and I felt like they were being ripped out. The place was clean for the most part but the beds are all open and next to eachother for everyone to see you. Definitely not satisfied with the turn out. My eyes are puffy and itchy and now have to go to Lash Lab to get them removed. read more

Super annoyed, I got my lashes done yesterday and more than half a of my lashes have fallen out. I spent a total of 108 dollars for these lashes and they didnt even last 24 hours. Never again. My lashes rarely take the full hour, but even when they do, they look amazing. I've gotten so many compliments on them and I love them. Well...I booked an appointment for a 2D Gorgeous Fill. The owner asked me to come in early, and I did. However, I waited 30 minutes and got seen at my original time. The tech rang me up for $215. I was blown away because the price was much higher than I expected to pay. The owner told me that I booked a refill, but I needed a full set since I was not wearing lashes. I should have got the option to upgrade or walk away. It was tacky that the owner did not tell me upfront that she was upgrading my service. read more

i went to the kris lash location in east brunswick a few years back and i thought the prices to be decent compared to other salons in the area. i only got one or two fills before i let that set of lashes fall out but i really liked the way they looked at the time. i recently visited their east windsor location and had a much different experience. i'm not sure if they are run by the same woman but the customer service is terrible. i got a full set done by kris and had gotten 6 or 7 fills before finding another studio to go to, and not once while i was getting my lashes done by her did she act as though she knew who i was or recognized me from the times i went before (i got consistent two week fills). i wasn't expecting her to address me by name, but she would ask me every single time if i had an appointment as if i was a new client and she'd never seen me before. also on more than one occasion i had to wait a considerable amount of time after my scheduled appointment before being serviced - one of the instances she was giving herself a blow out... it was insane. she was pretty rough when applying the lashes and didn't use the fan after she was done so my eyes would burn when i would open them. i went for a while because of the price (they are much less expensive than a lot of other salons) but decided to eventually go somewhere else because i was willing to pay more for a better experience and service. read more
