Worst managed and staffed Krispy Kreme I've ever been in. Staff is rude and simply don't care. Donuts are not to standards you would ever expect from Krispy Kreme. Just unacceptable!

    The Case
    Lisa H.

I'd sworn off Krispy Kreme after eating way too many original glazed doughnuts back in the day but found myself at a KK recently. Oh well, when in Rome. This location of the North Carolina chain is just a little over a month old, and due to being right in front of the mall, has ample parking. You walk in and immediately see the donut assembly line behind a clear window, glaze waterfall and all. I was warmly greeted by a young woman who was very eager to help me. She even offered up some recommendations of her faves in the case. I ended with with a yeasty cinnamon twist and a cakey glazed sour cream that were swiftly served to me ($2.38 including tax). Both were fresh and sweet and went down all too easy. Oh donuts. They always taste good going down but just result in sugary regret later due to the lack of substance/sustenance. Tip: do not go to a Krispy Kreme when very hungry. There is a drive-thru in addition to the dining room. There are several tables and chairs, along with a small sofa. Even patio seating. Krispy Kreme is a family fave, with loads of little ones wearing the paper hats and gazing at the assembly line, transfixed. Cheap, sweet, and friendly. Can't complain.

    Free "Appreciation" doughnut ‍
    Reni G.

I don't have a problem with KK normally, but if you're going to do an "appreciation" day and give free doughnuts, please make sure they don't look like they were cooked the previous week and you pulled them out of the fridge just to clean it out. The doughnut in the photos is what I received as the free one. I ordered a 3 pack when I picked up the free one. The hot light was on and the ones I paid for were light, airy, and warm. I'm guessing they are bagging and banking the free ones. Should have checked before driving off. Glad I didn't get the free coffee as it may have been brewed a couple days before. In any case, I threw that disgusting "token of appreciation" in the trash were it belonged. I guess you do get what you pay for.

    Day old glazed donut
    Dalton S.

We went tonight while their hot light was on, ordered three blueberry cake donuts, three original glazed donuts, three raspberry filled, and three creme filled donuts, along with a caramel mocha frappé. They gave us the raspberry donuts, the glazed, and five creme filled. We had to ask for the blueberry cake donuts. The coffee was burned. The glazed donuts they gave us looked, felt, and tasted old.

Lobby is always locked. Drive thru severely slow. No since of regency. People pull out of line. The donuts I got were old and hard.

I suggest going somewhere else. No since of urgency. Lobby always closed. I have tried several time to get some for clients. The line takes forever and what I got today was old reheated donuts. The frosting almost nonexistent because it melted off. They tasted stale.

Tell me this doesn't make your mouth water...

I would give a zero if I could. My husband bought lemon filled doughnuts tonight. Not a single doughnut had lemon filling.

Fried green tomatoes- wasn't the biggest fan of pimento cheese, but if that's your thing I'm sure it would have been delicious. I had the strawberry / spinach salad. It was decent but a little too much dressing on parts and a bit dry in others. The biscuits were a star of the other meal. Sadly, no lattes... the only other bummer was that the waiter forgot my cocktail. He apologized when I asked for it... I know accidents happen

I believe it effected some of the flavors of foods that were boiled in it, too. Gnocchi had some of the same off flavor. In addition, some of the flavors just feel way out of whack for totally unrelated reasons. Sauce that the duck came in was thin and overwhelmed by honey. The risotto it was served with seems like it should be rich and homey. But despite a crazy amount of added dairy still tasted thin and flat. Can't tell you why. Wonky seasoning? None of the dishes reflected any familiarity with acid to lighten or balance a dish. Fried green tomatoes were pretty mid despite a quality remoulade and a bunch of pimento cheese. Ingredients seem like they're decent quality. Desserts are legitimately top notch. Everyone recommends the peanut butter pie. And it is excellent, though pretty obviously not long out of the freezer. The affogato Is legitimately fantastic. And I'm not even talking about the pageantry of dumping the espresso on the salt ice cream. The combo is legitimately satisfying, like a well-rounded creamy candy. The plates are funky and cool and beautiful. The staff all seem like they're 19, attractive, and gregarious.

She made sure we were taken care of, was very clear and knowledgeable about the menu, gave incredible recommendations, and was also thoughtful in celebrating my boyfriend's promotion to Captain in the Army! The ambiance is really sweet. Whether you're here on a date, catching up with friends over a nice meal, in the mood to watch some sports, or celebrating a special occasion, this is your place! There's a sweet vibe going on with some music in the back, but it's not too loud where you can't hear your own conversations at the table. The food? Chef's kiss. They have a rotating menu, I think depending on the season/time of year, but they have some consistent all-year-round items on the menu. I first came here on Valentine's weekend with my boyfriend, and absolutely loved it. Couldn't stop thinking about their truffle parm fries, nor their milk and cookies- finger licking good. This time around, we got the Farmer's Daughter (which made my usually anti-veggie boyfriend absolutely love btw), half-dozen Gulf Coast oysters, and fall-off-the-bone lamb shanks. This is the kind of place you go to where you won't be able to find these dishes just anywhere. It's uniquely delicious, and I genuinely think you can't go wrong with what you choose! My boyfriend, a coffee connoisseur, also loves their French Press Coffee! Thank you Lucy's, for always such a great experience and for fantastic food.

Let me start by saying the building is beautiful and the atmosphere feels like a nice restaurant. Also, the cocktail menu was definitely curated by someone who knows what they are doing. The appetizer Barrotta cheese was the best part of the evening. With that being said, the entrees were lackluster and small. Our food came out lukewarm at best and honestly seemed like not a lot of thought went into them. I know that this restaurant is supposed to be upscale, but I don't think I should pay 55$ per persons meal and still leave hungry. Also, the staff needs training. The whole time it felt like they were concerned with fast turn over and nothing else. Part of upscale dining is that the price of food and quality of service is more important than turn over time. Generally speaking I will not be back to eat here again.

Ming House, Ming House…read more.. What started with a missed-left-turn going Southbound on South College turned into a voyage, crossing a sea of flavor poured into this Earth by the Ming House cooks whose names I am not worthy of uttering. Upon my arrival, I was greeted and kindly seated by the employees. The booth cushion, soft yet firm, immediately evokes memories of my father's arms carrying me as a child. I must snap out of it though, because those days are behind me and now I'm at Ming House, reading a menu which is stupendously diverse for a Chinese restaurant in Auburn, Alabama. On the menu I'm seeing a host of Chinese favorites, some Japanese, and even Vietnamese. Though I'm no simpleton; I think to myself, 'impossible'. However, after being presented the beef Phö I ordered as a test (a cry for normalcy? for life to return to its mediocre state?) I am left speechless. Like the scene in Ratatouille, I am sent back to my childhood- no, my grandfather's childhood, his memory of tasting Phö for the first time- and then back to reality. Incredible execution of this dish. The steak skewer appetizer I ordered, albeit a little pricey, was absolutely banging too. After reading my words, it should be inexorable that you will go to Ming House the next time you crave Chinese Cuisine.
