Ok, seriously I was reminded yet again tonight why I avoid doughnut places like the plague....it hit me right in the gut. The damn hot now red neon light lured me in along with some gently aggressive nudging from some girlfriends. I stepped in for the first time ever to a heavenly sight am smell....fresh donuts on a conveyer belt, freshly made, still hot with icing oozing on seconds of being drenched on.... i can't even. I paused and hesitated and ummed my way through deciding which half dozen I wanted and the friendly cashier at the front offered to make my gf and my purchase much more affordable by charging both of our half dozen boxes as a full dozen bc the discounted price was way worth splitting the cost. The dozen cost $10 - ish including taxes whereas the half dozen was $8.99 plus taxes. Good looking out friend!!! And then my first bite into the still warm all time fave glazed donut that was literally pulled right off of the conveyer belt...melted in my mouth like the best of em....seriously... I was incredibly disappointed with my latest visit to the Krispy Kreme on N. Person Street. My friends and I went downtown to grab some donuts and they informed us, rather rudely, that they were out of the traditional glazed donuts that are their staple. They then told us that they would not make more for two whole hours. Yet, the machine started up ten minutes after we had ordered, paid for, and eaten the donuts that we had not originally wanted. The employees were rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional towards us when we were ordering and were very unaccommodating towards us. Then, to top things off, they were not up front about when they would make more glazed donuts. We would have gladly waited ten minutes for those hot donuts. Overall, a VERY disappointing experience. We WILL NOT go back soon. read more

Saturday night. Thought it would be hopping. Conveyor belt wasn't running. They weren't offering as many doughnuts as they used to but were pushing carrot cake doughnut in July. Banana pudding doughnut was good and they're fake Munchkin dough holes were good. I just don't understand if they are a bakery why they wouldn't have all kinds available. What a sad store. I love Krispy Kremes just not this one. So we came to Krispy Kreme to get donuts, water, and retreat from the heat outside. We got our donuts and the lady had an attitude (while getting out donuts) then we ask for 4 cups of water and you'd expect to get ice water being that's it's 92 degrees out and no ice. Well, that's the last straw I mean if you have slushies and iced coffee you can give us so ice water. Other than that there were pretty good donuts but the greatness of the donuts does not compare to the rude attitude of the workers. read more

I was super impressed with the service provided here. My boyfriend and I were trying to decide what donuts we wanted to fill a dozen box and so the employee asked if we had tried the new Hershey Gold donut and when we both said 'no', he gave us one for free to try. This place is awful! The person whom is supposed to be working the window is very unprofessional. She attempted to take my order in the drive thru and her speech was horrible. Management needs to go through the drive thru and become more acquainted with the quality of workers they have representing their team. We are from Ohio where the best you can get are the KK in the grocery store....we have moved here to Raleigh and when we were driving our convertible around last weekend in the warm weather, we searched for the store and to our delight the HOT sign was on. You have to take the kids in to see the donuts being made on the conveyer belt and being slathered with the hot sugar coating. The place was packed and the girls behind the counter are experts at filling the boxes as fast as possible. Of course our dozen quickly turned into 2 since we also wanted cream filled , jelly and banana cream pie donuts, too! If you are from the north, the chocolate covered cream filled are a great sub for our "creamsticks"! I had to take pics of us in front of the store for my friends, after all it is March and we had the top down at Krispy Kreme!! read more

Born and raised in the Winston-Salem area, otherwise known as Donut Country, Krispy Kreme was a hometown treat. I toured Krispy Kreme as a little girl in a Brownie Girl Scout outfit. I'm happy to report that if you visit the Krispy Kreme off Peace Street in Raleigh, little has changed since Brownie Girl Scout days. While I may no longer wear a patch-clad sash, I still marvel as I look through the glass at the simple process of making something so amazing that it pleases the entire world. All cultures and people love fried yeast drenched in sugar. I usually head to Krispy Kreme at night with friends. When the Hot Donuts Now sign is lit up, I know my night just got a whole lot better. One is all it takes for me. One sugary, melt-in-your mouth, pastry perfection. The clerks at the counter always try to up-sell from a half dozen to a dozen, "for a dollar more." I don't recommend the dozen. Get the small batch. Savor them while you can scarf them down before they lose their buttery warmth. I play a game: Don't let the sugar get hard. When Krispy Kremes are at their best, the sugar won't flake off on your mouth, clothes and hands. But if it does, there's no harm in licking the sugar from your fingers, or having a sweetheart kiss your sugar-coated mouth. If you haven't been downtown to Krispy Kreme, go directly to Peace Street. Do not pass go. Go directly to the neon sign. On the way, pray to the donut gods that the Hot Donuts Now sign is illuminated as you pull into the crowded parking lot! read more

Just left this store, which I have visited hundreds of times without incident. The young man waiting on us was impatient and rude. I have never been treated like this here, and was with my teenaged sons, one of whom had autism. No patience, no help, no "thank you," barely a grunt out of him. My son asked about drink sizes, and he would not say anything except small, medium, and large, and rolled his eyes when we asked for clarification. Apparently spending $30 means nothing. If I could give negative stars for horrible service, I would. read more

This is the absolute WORST location I've ever visited. I've been here twice and both times I've waited an insane amount of time for hot donuts. The first visit I arrived at 6:15pm, no hot light on- so I waited and waited and waited. 30 minutes later, still no hot light. I walk inside and they don't even have the machine going. By this time it would have been another 30-45 minute drive to wake forest to get hot donuts and just didn't bother getting any at all. Went to dunkin. This morning I tried again. Arrived at 8am and waited at the drive through voice box for over 10 minutes with nobody answering and it's 35 degrees out with my window rolled down trying to get someone to acknowledge me. There was someone in front at the window in their car just sitting there on their phone, and someone behind me that wouldn't move. I was furious. By the time I got answered, I ordered, and pulled up behind the car that was still sitting there. Just to see that they only had 2 dozen donuts... how does that take 15 minutes? I didn't even want the donut anymore and I was running late for work and I just drove through right behind them. I will NEVER visit this location again. read more

We came here to get some donuts because the Hot button was on. There were flies all over the place. Somebody commented on this and the reply was they won't land on hot donuts! We bought a couple where we didn't think had any flies landed on them. read more

Don't get me wrong - Krispy Kreme is clearly superior to Dunkin' Donuts. Every single time you come they will deliver a solid product at a low price point that the independent shops can't match. But, it's still a chain and obvious when you taste some of their offerings that they are artificially flavored. Some of the donuts are also too sweet for my liking. read more

Not sure who owns this particular Krispy Kreme, but this location on Person Street is not the same as it used to be in the past. It seems that every time you want to order hot glazed doughnuts, they do not have hot doughnuts. Seems employees do not care and not sure about management either. It clearly states on the website that hot doughnuts are served from 6p.m.- 10 p.m. Also, very disappointed that most of the time, doughnuts are not fresh. I'm better off buying them at the grocery store. Will NEVER go back to this location! read more
