    Delicious birthday cake

Delicious confection bakery. Family owned business very professional and helpful. Very quick service we will return.

My first visit to Corbin's Confections was amazing. As a newly diagnosed celiac walking into a DEDICATED gluten free bakery I was speechless. The food is incredible and I highly recommend.

Ordered cupcakes from them and there was hair baked into the cupcakes. You can see it poking out of the lemon cupcake. Didn't get to try them so I can't speak on taste.

oh my gosh i had the best cookie i've ever eaten in my entire 14 years of living at this establishment. it was gone in seconds. the way the lady handed it over as if it wasn't going to b a transcendent experience for me. delectable soft inside with a crunchy outer rim. this brownie cookie was one of the best things i've ever put into my mouth. and it's gluten free??? absolutely insane. jokes aside, i've gotten my birthday cake from here almost every year since my celiac diagnosis in 2017. they do incredible designs and personalized cakes. their bakery items are delicious and the staff is incredibly nice. the bakery vibe is really cute and it's a nice cozy place to come enjoy some sweets. the one downside is the business hours, but it's completely understandable considering the fact that they are a family owned business. it's honestly a good thing that they're only open 11am-3pm because if they were open all day i think i'd become morbidly obese in a matter of weeks. anyways, this is an incredible gluten free and nut free bakery in downtown salem.

This bakery is a slice of heaven. All the cakes are beautiful and delicious, and the menu is fantastic, too.

Wayne, Kathy, and Shana are all a great family of bakers at Corbin's Confections. They all are wonderful, talented, and loving people. They always produce the highest quality delicious gluten-free baked goods, including, but not limited to pies, cakes, scones, sourdough bread, multigrain breads, cookies, donuts, or bagels. Order, come by, taste, and see! You will be back again soon!

Everything in here is amazing. Who would've thought things could be so good gluten-free. I especially like the chocolate brownie cookies.

It's a combination of many things: the soft texture of the freshly cooked dough, the sweetness of the glaze sugar reaching your taste buds, the savoring of the sweet amazing experience. So you can imagine how happy I was when receiving an email from Krispy Kreme wishing me a Happy Birthday and celebrating it by giving me a Free 6-count of their Original Glazed Doughnuts. For it is these little things in life that make the big difference in its joy. Today I went with my Krispy Kreme app to their doughnut shop in Northwest Roanoke, popular for its hot glazed doughnuts served fresh when the light is on, to redeem my precious birthday gift. I arrived when the light was on, and the excitement of the occasion had brought in the store a wave of customers waiting in line for the pleasure of purchasing and then tasting those one-of-a-kind Doughnuts. I invite you to view my photographs and video accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place, the process of making the doughnuts, and beautiful final products, the doughnuts themselves. When the time came, I had the privilege of having the store manager himself take my order and take care of me. By providing him with my phone number he was able to get to my account in the cash register so that I would get points for my purchase today, for besides my 6 free birthday doughnuts, I also purchased 3 Lemon filled glazed doughnuts. He had me scan my offer from my account in their app and then pay for the other 3 doughnuts with my Google Pay. I then proceeded to take them home in my pearl white Lexus to enjoy them there.

Owned and operated by Sue and Vivian, two lovely and very talented ladies with wonderful personalities, it is located inside of the Antiques & Collectibles Shop "Buy The Season," in Salem, Virginia. I arrived around lunch time in my pearl white Lexus and was able to quickly find a parking space in one of the spaces in front of the extremely large Antiques, Collectibles, Gift, Home Decor, and Furniture Shop. And if this wasn't enough, we can also include "Café." The Café is located in the right corner of the building with its own windows with homemade, red, checkered curtains, and vinyl banner that reads: "Apperson Café / Hot Dogs * Baked Goods." There is also another sign that reads: "Lunch Specials." As I entered through the main front door of the building, I received a friendly greeting from the people running the Antiques Shop. Then as I walked towards the Café the ambiance began to feel warm and cozy, just like those one-of-a-kind, local cafés. I was very impressed by all the homemade menu signs they had up and with one in particular that read: "Happiness is Homemade." The long, glass display case, was full of all kinds of homemade cookies and other desserts. They had sourdough bread loaves made by a group of Mennonites. And basically they had an American home-style cuisine menu, spearheaded by Special Hot Dogs, with other items such as BBQ Pork, Chili, Grilled Cheese, Chicken Salad, Tuna Salad, and homemade soup, among other things. Something very popular are their homemade donuts made from a special recipe given to them by a Mennonite friend. They make these Fridays and Saturdays only, and they are so popular that they always sell out early. I ordered a Chili Hot Dog combo with a glass of homemade lemonade, and chips. The Hot Dog came with toasted buns and were very wide and firm. One of the best Hot Dogs that I have ever tasted. The Hot Dog provider happened to be there at the moment, but they didn't want to reveal the brand name of the Hot Dog, I guess to maintain the exclusivity at their Café. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the quality of their food. Their homemade lemonade was also amazingly delicious and refreshing. They had a station with condiments that you could put on your hot dogs, as well as with macaroni and potato salad. Everything was so good: the cozy ambiance, the hospitable and friendly owners, and the freshly made food, that together made for a delightful dining experience and the desire to want to come back.

Conveniently located on 1 W Main Street, in the heart of Salem, Virginia, right next to the farmer's market, Lucky Cat Cafe is a charming buble tea and homemade gelato store with a cozy atmosphere and a wide selection of other items, such as ice-cream, coffee, hot chocolate, fresh sushi, mochi donuts, macaroons, and other sweet treats. They have a free parking lot and free street parking. The cafe is decorated in anime style with lots of posters and figurines for sale. As first-time visitors we were very impressed with the store's vibrant decor and welcoming ambiance. It is the perfect spot to visit with family or friends, to share quality time with while enjoying one or more of their delicious and refreshing treats. At the Lucky Cat Cafe we can find something for everyone. When we first arrived, an Asian lady who seemed to be the owner, greeted us behind the counter and gave us a warm welcome. She answered all our questions and invited us to look around the store. When I found out she was of Chinese origin I said "Xie Xie" to her that means Thank you. I also expressed my pleasure in visiting her Asian family-owned business and her appreciation for this was returned with a big friendly smile. Even though I had invited my friend here for a Gelato. As soon as he saw the Mochi donuts he ordered two, inviting me for one of them. I asked for the original flavor, and loved the texture as well of the flavor of the Mochi donuts. Then we went to the Gelato freezer display case, and looked at all the interesting flavors they had. My friend had a scoop of the Taro Gelato in a cup and zI had one of Mango, my favorite fruit. I asked for the bill and paid with my credit card. Tip was optional by clicking a spot in the payment computer. The Mango Gelato was so delicious. It was very creamy and refreshing, with just the right temperature. While eating the ice-cream at one of the round tables with my friend, I noticed the cleanliness of the place. When we finished with the Gelatos, I told my friend that I wanted to support this Asian family-owned business some more and invited him to a Buble Tea with Bobas. He had the Matcha Tea with Lychee Bobas and I had the Mango Tea with Mango Bobas. They were very good and refreshing and the owner appreciated our business. While we were there other customers came by for Gelato as well and to look at all the small figures they had for sale. In conclusion. I highly recommend this Cafe and Ice-cream Shop for their fresh, flavory, and refreshing menu items and their amazing customer service. They seem to enjoy seeing customers go to their store and make you feel right at home there.

The place is small but quaint, with dim lighting, a full bar, and a fun mix of music genres that keeps the vibe relaxed but lively. I ordered the Gregg Brady, and my sister had the Doctor Gozo, both made with 100% Wagyu beef. You can taste the quality immediately. I added mushrooms and grilled onions for a small extra fee, and had my BBQ chips that come on it, on the side. We shared the crinkle‑cut fries, which came with their incredible house sauce. The sauce was so good I asked if they sold it, they do not, but the waitress sent me home with some samples for free. Service was fast and friendly. The waitresses were dressed in black tank tops, black shorts, and black shoes, and every one of them worked with a smile, like they were glad you came. The restaurant entrance itself is handicap accessible, but the bathrooms are not, they're very clean but also very small and too tight for a wheelchair to fit inside. One of the coolest things about Jack Brown's is their Beer Club. If you drink 100 different beers, you become a "Notcher." If you drink 1,000, different beers you become a "Saint." On Saint's Day, Saints get all food and drinks free, unlimited, with no tab. It's a huge part of their culture and adds to the fun, and a loyal community. Overall, the food was phenomenal, the staff went above and beyond, and the atmosphere made the whole visit top notch. I will definitely be coming back the next time I roll through this part of town. How to Become a Notcher (repeat for the Saints) To achieve Notcher status, individuals must follow these steps: 1. Try 100 different beers: Sample 100 different beers to reach Notcher status. 4. Service was prompt and friendly, and for those so inclined, there's also a great selection of specialty beers. The atmosphere is fun and memorable -- the rock 'n' roll was loud enough to add energy but not so loud that we couldn't have a conversation. The decor is quirky and kitschy (think a skeleton on a bicycle and a chandelier made entirely of bras). The couple behind us also enjoyed their selections, with "The Elvis" being a standout. That said, next time I'm in Roanoke, Jack Brown's will definitely be on my list for a return visit!
