I was not expecting the kind of aesthetic that I walked into. The salon is well lit, but not too much where you feel like you look ill in the mirror and it has such a cozy feel. Everyone seemed nice and welcoming. Mallory was waiting up front for me, greeted and introduced herself and then set up her station. We then went over the color I was looking for and type of cut. Not only did she take into account what I actually wanted done, but she explained everything and let me know why a certain decision was being made over another. She is currently an apprentice so her mentor came over to check on us a couple of times but she was doing great and barely needed guidance. One downfall to EM is how expensive the Davines shampoo and conditioner is. I will say the Davines brand is expensive but totally worth it; it smells amazing! I think the pumps should be included when you purchase something so expensive. Also, I cannot recommend getting makeup done for special events here as I got my makeup done for my sister's wedding and was not satisfied. I feel like the makeup artist went too light and made me look more pale than I really am. I was super frustrated because I mentioned to her a few times how I wanted it to be a little darker and I'm not sure she caught on. I also did not have enough time to go home and take it off and redo my makeup so I had to wear that makeup for my sister's wedding and wedding photos.
