Decent produce, although none of the local focus I remember from Appalachian Krogers up in Virginia and that state below it on the west side. Ok bakery. That isn't saying much in Atlanta from what I've seen. And gluten-free resources, including Udi's. Parking seems to suck even with the massive complex's lot, as does surviving the drive into and out of that complex. I'd give away my tricks, but I want to keep them for myself. read more

This is the Kroger where I shop, so I'm here regularly. It's cool. I really don't have any complaints except it can get pretty crowded and I just want everyone to move out of my way. It's clean and the employees are friendly always. I find Kroger to be less expensive than Publix if you have the Kroger Plus card. However, Publix has higher quality items such as meats. You had better check expiration dates at Kroger if you know what's best for you. I've seen some yucky stuff...the shame! I love the deals they sometimes have like the 10 for 10. The best thing about Kroger is the money you save on gas at their pumps. Great incentive to shop. read more

I prefer Publix overwhelmingly over Kroger, but you can't beat this location's hours - it's open 24 hours. They have really stepped up their game in this store compared to other Kroger stores in the area, the deli and produce area has one of the best selections I've seen. Edgewood Kroger is a busy store, it's always hard to find parking, once you do you can generally get in and out quickly if you are ok using their self check out - they have three isles of self check out machines. This location has horrible customer service, but this is typical at Kroger. I find their employees act as though its a complete inconvieince if you ask for help in the store and as one reviewer noted they almost never have a smile on their face. This is an above average Kroger in terms of selection and layout of the store and it's open 24 hours, this is my go-to store when Publix is closed. read more

I am in love. I am so use to the not so pretty and maintained Kroger's in metro Atlanta. This one has remained nice over the few years it has been open. This Kroger is Publix like. It has a huge fresh veggie, fruit, food bar, deli, bread, and hot food section. I love that part! The store is big, isle could be wider though. Always a pleasant shopping experience at this Kroger. It feels a bit classier than the old Murder Kroger on Ponce. It is rather crowded though around 5-8pm on weekdays so I would avoid around these times if you want to maximize your efficiency/time. Pro-Tip: just park on the far side of Target and take the short stroll down to Kroger through the crosswalk. You avoid the headache of dealing with people going in and out of the store blocking cars in front of the store. read more

I have never been a fan of Kroger, but by-gollie I love this one! Yes the parking is freaking terrible no matter what time of the day you decide to go. It's clean, and it doesn't have that "kroger" smell (like a piggly-wiggly). My ex is a Publix snob, but I have gone into many a Publix with empty baskets in the produce section, and browning greens. It took some getting used to the layout, but I'm getting a little more effective in not going up and down the same rows a million times. Good old Kroger. I think this one is the busiest one in the city with the highest amount of revenue. 1. Plenty of parking and it has your typical selection. We usually come here for simple items and pre-made rotisserie chicken. 2. Since this shopping area is so popular traffic may be an issue during peak hours and we know how fantastic Atlanta drivers are during those times. Watch the road rage. 3. Don't expect much for service because as is the norm in most supermarkets the employees aren't trained that well, especially when you ask for special order meat cuts, etc. 4. It is very clean so you're safe on buying fresh items. read more

The store is new and has already been renovated once since opening and offers a great selection of food at good prices. This is my staple grocery store. I live in Grant Park so it's like 10 minutes away and the selection is outstanding. The plusses: I am able to go in the AM when they open, so yes I am spoiled in that regard. Restocking of dry goods takes place on monday am, and meat and produce are majorly re-stocked on wednesday am. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with the staff. The deli selection is great,and this is the first store I've seen with a computer to enter your entire deli order, then swing back to pick up all of your stuff in 20 minutes or so. GREAT organic and natural food selection, ethnic foods as well. minuses: The parking is truly horrendous on weekends and PM rush hour times. If that was truly the only time I was able get here, I might not even bother. During these times, the crowds are unreal. You spend as much time bumping into other carts and excusing your self as actual shopping. I have heard customer service horror stories, but again, none personally. Overall, I frequent the place and will continue to. The convenience of being right next to Target and Barnes&Noble is a hug draw for me too. I recommend!! read more

This store has been a mixed blessing. It's in a dense shopping center with plenty of retail available, but the management of this store is either oblivious or simply apathetic to customer problems. The bad parking design choices during the building of this complex haven't helped. (There is 2-level parking available, but the second level should have been built for the Kroger, not the Target.) The only saving grace of this review -- why it's not 1-star -- is the pharmacy department, which is absolutely *outstanding*. They are on the ball and have always been fast, responsive, and (almost disturbingly) friendly. For the rest of this text, let me share a letter I gave to the pharmacy department, after years of getting lip service from the general management of the store. While it did trigger a response from the corporate office, the store's GM has not done anything to address these concerns. I will not go into this store anymore if I can, at all, avoid it. ===== August 24, 2015 Dear pharmacy staff of Kroger #461 Caroline Street, Thank you for your great work. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to come to this location any longer, as I no longer feel safe entering the retail store. Your store's management has decided repeatedly that customers' (and employees') safety is of no concern to them. Regularly, the front sidewalks are crowded out by various products (spring plantings are the worst), forcing patrons to walk through vehicular traffic to get into and out of the front doors, and causing foot traffic jams around the exit doors. In fact, just yesterday, a line of chained­-up bascarts blocked fully half of the pedestrian sidewalk, with no building permits, emergency vehicles, caution tape, or guide signs explaining why. I was told by a member of management that some sort of resurfacing was going to happen soon, but that sort of thing does require (by law) caution signs or indications to prevent customer injury. These intentional occlusions of frontage walking space are patently illegal under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and may well be illegal under local fire code ordinances. I have brought these issues to the attention of store management on many occasions, and have been summarily dismissed every time. I have also been ignored by regional management, when they have been in the store to observe operations. Further, I have sustained multiple minor injuries thanks to blockage of walking space, being forced to walk into traffic, bascarts locking up in the brickface paving,* and other issues which I've mentioned to management only to be ignored. I'm a very accepting person by letting these injuries go; many others would certainly have made a much bigger fuss after all the bruises and bumps I've sustained here. All this leads me to fear how many other safety violations are lurking in this retail store. (* Yes, I'm aware that the brickface paving was the development company's design choice. Brickface paving is never a good choice for a grocery, as it mercilessly rattles bascarts and the products in them, and it should ideally should be replaced by asphalt.) If I actually had the stamina to do so, I'd detail all my experiences to corporate C­-level management. However, given the apathy endemic to this store's management team, at this time it's easier for me to choose an alternative and leave the Caroline Street complex behind. Maybe, by putting this bug in your ear, someone will finally pay attention. Most importantly: None of this reflects badly on the pharmacy staff. You've been professional and completely aware of problems, and you've been honest to my husband and me when problems arise. You've always fixed those problems with no hassle, too. I'm pretty surprised by the length of some of the reviews for this Kroger. What is there to say? In my experience, the store is never out of stock of what I'm looking for, the pharmacists and pharm techs are nice and helpful, there are way more lower-cost store brand items compared to other grocery stores, and they take rain checks for out-of-stock sales items, for crying out loud. The only thing I can see people complaining about is the fact that parking is nonexistent on weekends, but it's just as easy to avoid these high traffic times and/or stop caring about getting a "good spot" and go on with your day. read more

Love shopping here! They offer a great vegan/vegiterian selection which is definitely awesome. They have a huge beer/wine selection which is very convenient. Their produce is very good and the employees are always friendly and willing to help. The parking is a bit competitive but definitely worth it for all that Kroger has to offer. read more

My husband and i shop frequently at this location. The only "complaint" we have is waiting for the electric cart as my husband cannot walk any distance without pain. I understand that a few people take the carts home or sometimes the wait itself is tiring, as it has been an hour before we got a cart a couple of times in the past. The female security always looks out and gets one for us whenever she can. As far as the employees we've had no problem with except for one that was a little too "friendly" with hubby but i took care of that and no more problems since. read more

I am basing my review on the entire Kroger experience, which is over a span of two days. Last night, went shopping, awesome sale, clean pristine appearance of displays, most items in stock. Saved $46.00, my husband felt like a rocks star. Unfortunately he left is phone in the shopping cart. So 15 mins later, we arrive home, realizes his phone is missing, immediately calls store. Wonder night manager, told him the phone was turned in, it would be placed in the safe, and we could come to the store at 7am and the manger could verify the phone was his, and we could retrieve the phone. Simple right?! Nopooooo... of course not. We get there early, no coffee at lunch counter(Which seemed odd since the location used to have a Starbucks on site) We wait, and wait, none of the "Customer Service" people asked what for , nothing. The employees concerned were stock people, the wonderful baker and deli employees. So after 45 minutes, two co managers, a bagger an some lady standing behind the customer service counter some one tells us now the wait will be another 20 minutes. I could not believe the lack of concern, dialogue, or just a sense of order being displayed in those moments. So i ask the lady,( now keep in mind... no one is wear name tags, let alone properly groomed hair or shirts tucked in to pants) when the manager is arriving, and what the protocol for lost or returned items was. She goes nuts. So I ask, why are you yelling at me? she says, well I am being attacked. I say asking you a question you should know as the head cashier is attacking you? It was comical..... Finally she makes us wait another 10 minutes.. and magically arrives with the phone. Did not ask for id, nothing. Then I was told she cant know everything that happens in the store. So my question was, so why are you holding a note explaining the situation, who the person was who would be arriving to get the phone.?! I digress.. this was a simple situation that could have been an awesome customer service above and beyond moment. Instead, I was really disappointed in the lack or regard for themselves, the store, and moist of all, the most important aspect of all retail.... The Customer! read more

I hit call attendant and she didn't even budge, she just pressed continue. Worst customer service on the planet. There is a reason I don't shop at this specific Kroger location. 1.) I go to the Starbucks counter to request a Grande Italian Roast- the girl says "We have Medium Roast Pike Place." I said "I don't understand- the sign says you're brewing Italian Roast slso. May I have that?" The girl now with a major attitude says "We have medium roast. The Italian hasn't been brewed yet." Ok fine- not a big deal. I ask for a Tall Pikes with Soy Milk. She gives me the Pike's and I ask her for the Soymilk. With an attitude again she says "Oh. Well I'll have to go get that." (With major attitude). At that point it was taking everything in me not to tell her what I think of her attitude. I ask for skim, and she gives it to me like it's a chore. Never again. I go to grab a few groceries and go to the self checkout where next to me is a lady who is having problems with the self-scanner (they can be very tempermental). The girl working the self-scanners- same attitude!! Like we're putting her out by asking for help!!! She starts talking to the woman at the self-scanner like she's an idiot. After that I left because their customer service desk wasn't even open yet. Kroger is very big on Customer Service- I get great service at the Briarcliff and Ansley locations but you can forget the Caroline St one! Attitude central there. It's a shame, too, because it's a very nice store. The employees need attitude adjustments and a lesson in politeness. Never again. read more

Let me start by saying we just moved to the area and I'm in search for my go-to grocery store. I had my first trip yesterday after work (4pm) and yikes, I would rather shop locally then go back. I'll make it short and sweet... Pros: Convenient to us Friendly staff LOW prices Unique selection Cons: Parking lot is like a zoo Store was packed with people, hard to shop Crazy guy pacing service counter looking anxious Cops were called while I was there for some issue and Creepers were creeping I just didn't get a good feeling at all while shopping here...if I ever return, I won't go alone. I would rather pay higher prices somewhere else. I will continue my search... I lived in the West End and would love to go to the Edgewood Kroger's because it offers so much more than many other Kroger's. My goal was to move in the area because of the plaza and Kroger's! Since I've been here the illusion of being such a great store is a thing of the past as far as I'm concern! This particular day I was standing at the customer with food from the deli that looked until I got home and tasted the cooked to death Pork Chop and I wanted my money back with no hard feelings. I know some people would have loved a well well done Pork Chop, I'm not that guy! People were behind the customer counter, Moving & Doing a lot of nothing to help the people in the customer service line! One lady was trying her best to accommodate the counter as more people lined up, she was failing to serve the people. I was looking at a manger showing people which line was faster instead of getting behind the counter to help the lady who was in the weeds! (very busy) I said as loud as I could hoping the traffic manger to hear and come help! Instead this Ebonics Speaking Cashier Said loud enough for me to hear," Don't he know we be busy on the 1st of da mouth! I can say that I to spoke Ebonics until I read a book...as a child! Anyway! I said do you think I care about the date! And I Asked Why are you talking to me way over there? A older employee made her shut the heck up by saying Erin hush! Erin should have been fired for jumping tuff with a customer! Being the only grocery store in the neighborhood gives them no right to treat a customer with anything but courtesy! P.S. Small little Kroger, a little on the dark side. They have limited supplies but staff is nice and accommodating.Its beside a target which is convenient in case they don't have certain items. As this is the closest grocery to my house, it is my regular staple food venue. I haven't experienced the dirtiness or rudeness that Kaitlin L. speaks of but I will say that the non-cashier (usually nice) staff are about as helpful as a swimsuit in the desert. On a recent shopping trip, my wife asked for the location of pesto - no one there had ever heard of such a thing (is pesto that exotic?), nor did they try to find someone who might know. Also, at least in the evening, the produce section is completely picked over and may even be missing very basic fruits/vegetables. Honestly, the most redeaming quality of this Kroger is actually the wine selection. The store carries quite an array of good boutique wines as well as the usual suspects - actually a better selection than several wines stores in the area. read more

This is the Kroger where I'm usually doing my main grocery shopping at. I love it! It's huge, very clean and in the same shopping center, there's a Target, Ross, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble and other smaller retail stores. It even has a deli! I usually go on weekends and while there's usually a crowd when I go, I'm never standing in line for a ridiculous amount of time and if I am, its because there are still idiots out there that don't know how to use the self check-out machines (c'mon really?). There's plenty of parking and the selection is great, very comparable to a Publix. I actually like coming here rather than the Publix on Ponce because it's more spacious and I don't feel like I'm going to bump my shopping cart into a display as I'm going down the aisles. This Kroger makes me like grocery shopping. :) read more

I probably pass three to four Kroger's and numerous other grocery chains to cone to the edgewood location...they just offer a larger variety of gourmet items. The downsides of this location being that its always packed with people..its hard to navigate the cart thru the masses of shopping carts and sometimes they run low on basic items. But, the store and service is always great! read more

Their employees are a lot nicer than any other pharmacy counter I've ever approached and they're willing to help explain all prescriptions clearly for us laymans. I really like that there is a drive thru and weekend hours. These features are no different than any Walgreens or CVS, but I like that I can spend the short wait (usually no more than 10 minutes during non-peak hours) shopping in Kroger's revamped produce section. Big bonus: super cheap generic prescriptions. I have been paying between $25-35 per month for orthotricyclen birth control for years; Kroger has a $9 RX for it (WITHOUT insurance!) The ONLY reason this isn't a 5 star review is because I had the Death Flu in January and had to get several prescriptions filled the day it snowed. The pharmacy was extremely busy and I was told that there would be a 45 minute wait - which was fine - so I said I would come back later to pick it up. After spending an hour fighting God-awful traffic because everyone panics when there are 3 snow flurries, I returned to pick up my prescription, only to find out that they didn't have it in stock and would take 24 hours to get. I was pretty frustrated because I felt terrible and Kroger wasted my time when I could have just been filling the RX elsewhere since they didn't have it. The tech's only response was, "Well, we called you over the loudspeaker to let you know, but you never came to the counter." BECAUSE I LEFT THE STORE, LIKE I TOLD YOU I WAS GOING TO DO, RATHER THAN STAND AROUND FOR 45 MINUTES WITH MY THUMB UP MY ASS. YOU HAVE MY PHONE NUMBER ON FILE! hrmph Anyway, I took the RX to another pharmacy and had it filled right away so I didn't have to wait 24 hours. It really wasn't that big of an inconvenience; the entire situation was exacerbated because I felt like Grade A dog shit and having to make an extra trip in spastic Atlanta traffic was rather frustrating when I just wanted to be home in bed. Could have been avoided with a simple phone call, but whatevz. /rant I still love them. read more

Love It! I love the Olive bar/Salad bar and the Asian Bar is great!. The staff is VERY friendly & helpful. The girl at the cheese section is extremely helpful, (if you are having a party and you need a quick & delicious appetizer, ask her, she knows whats shes talking about) I use to go to the Ghetto-Kroger or (Bad Kroger as know arounnd EAV) down Moreland, but after going to the Edgewood Kroger I won't be gracing The Ghetto-Kroger with my presence anymore! I dread going to this store - terrible parking and the customers can be a bit crazy due to the clash of demographics near the store location. There are a few polite/helpful employees, but there are also a few too many rude, careless, and inefficient store clerks who can ruin a person's entire day just because they are getting ready to "go on my break...". Oh yeah -too many people and not enough room in that place; the produce is hit or miss, but the prices are low, that being said sometimes I have to bite the bullet and just go.
