I recently stopped by Fresh Market looking for a seafood salad I had tried at a friend's house during Cinco de Mayo. My friend kept calling it a seafood dip, so I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for. I was genuinely impressed by how eager everyone was to help. Employees from multiple departments worked together to figure it out, and we eventually discovered it was a seafood salad thawing in the back. That level of customer service made a great impression. I've already been back since that visit. I've always shopped at DeKalb Farmers Market or Whole Foods, but Fresh Market has unique products, a smaller and more enjoyable shopping experience, and excellent service. Lately I've been focusing on eating healthier, so I don't mind paying a little more for higher quality food, especially when it's paired with such a great customer experience. I won't be coming back after what I witnessed today regarding food handling and sanitation. I ordered chicken wings, and the employee handling my order did not change gloves before preparing my food. Instead, she grabbed a pair of tongs that had been sitting on the counter with visible sauce residue from another food item still on them and used those same tongs to pick up my chicken wings. It was incredibly unsanitary. I have no idea how long those tongs had been sitting there, what foods they had previously been used for, or whether they had been cleaned. The employee herself seemed unsure which tongs to use, which only made the situation more concerning. I also observed another employee repeatedly handling food without changing gloves. He was in the back cutting and preparing meat, then helping customers, touching the scale, touchscreen, and other surfaces with the same gloves before returning to continue handling the meat. Gloves are supposed to prevent contamination, not transfer bacteria and residue between food, equipment, and customer-contact surfaces. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I've noticed these sanitation issues at this deli. I've seen similar practices on previous visits, and it appears to be an ongoing problem rather than a one-time mistake. For the prices customers are paying, basic food safety standards should be expected. Cross-contamination and improper glove use are not minor issues, especially in a department handling ready-to-eat foods. On a positive note, the fish market on the other side is consistently clean, professional, and appears to take sanitation seriously. The difference between the two departments is very noticeable. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and provides additional food safety training for staff. What I witnessed today was unacceptable and left me with very little confidence in the cleanliness and food handling practices of the deli. read more

This was my first time here, and it's such a cute little grocery store with lots of local finds. I went on a Friday, and the hot plates were $8.99 for one meat and two sides. I think that's a pretty good deal. The food was good, and the guy working at the hot plate station was friendly. read more

The worst meat department when it comes to service!! I was hesitant about going there for the 3rd Saturday in less than two months!! Prime time of the day for shopping around noon and no butchers available!! Always an excuse!! Butcher caught in traffic is the lie that has been used for 2 of the attempts to get prime rib roast!! Today I was told the butcher had been in a fender bender and couldn't get there!! I addressed the issue with the Store Manager who said he would look into getting the issue corrected!! I plan to call their corporate office as well. Maybe time to shut this store down!! I left once again and drove to the Roswell Rd. store! IF YOU ARE BLACK DO NOT SHOP HERE AND IF YOU DO CHECK YOUR RECEIPT. It is not the way we dress, it is not how we approach people, it is none of that. I'm so livid that I'm writing this in the parking lot. I bought a couple items and two of them were apples and habaneros(which we all know can be hard to find sometimes so I tried this store). He didn't ring my apples up properly. What he did was ring my apples up as habaneros. We love to say it's a simply mistake but it never is. I told him " Hey, you didn't ring up my apples, it says my habaneros are 2.16 lbs". He proceeds to tell me oh no those are your apples. With this being said, my apples weren't on the screen and if those are my apples, where is the weight of my habaneros? I knew the apples weren't 4.99 per pound (price of habaneros) and I asked him if he was sure he said yes. So I pay like a good samaritan and go check the apples, which are 2.49 per pound. I come back no less than two minutes and I tell him he rung up my apples as habaneros, he tells me no. We all know and especially the worker as well that 3 habaneros would never be 2 pounds( for reference they were 0.37 pounds). I have worked in a grocery store and the habaneros will never be next to the apples button, there's no way to mistake it. They are not even close alphabetically nor the same category of produce.I say it again and then another employee got involved and told him to call the manager. He proceeds to act innocent and even says twice " I didn't ring up apples at all" in front of the manager as if I grabbed apples and put them in my grocery bag. I had to interrupt and say that you rung my apples up as habaneros. He then tried to say he did it by "accident". He had full knowledge of what he was doing but me being a young black man, he believed I am not intelligent. I promise you it'll never be a mistake especially if you bring it to attention and they stand on it. I seen other reviews about them being racist and it is 100 percent true. If you need something fresh please find a place that accepts us and not places that tolerate you or treat us like they treated me and many others here. They don't deserve our money. read more

You are paying for the 'fresh' & specialty items, however worth it per your budget if you can adjust. I saw a dollar or so upsell on some Vegan items as well as other products I wasn't familiar with. I bought some pre-cut organic veggies (I rarely do this) & they were pretty fresh - price point a little steep yet worthy for the convenience. The meat, seafood, sushi, cheese, olive bar, bakery, bulk item sections are well maintained with easy access - again a small increase on the price point. The allergy-friendly inventory is impressive. TFM also offers nice size aromatherapy, floral, wine/beer areas. Employees on the floor are welcoming & helpful while tidying up the departments with the same good service by the cashiers. it's funny how their security guard arbitrary profiles black people who enter the store with a bag. I've been a loyal customer for years and was giving them my business even during covid. Today I was told to leave my tennis bags on their couches in their waiting area, under insuation of possible theft! I have seen so many other people entering with bags! I really enjoy this store location. I frequently buy the Little Big Meals and I like that they allow you to mix and match the ingredients now. I've never had an issue with parking but a few months ago, there was a restaurant/club across the street with super loud music. Sometimes the sale stickers are left up after the sale ends which can be a bit confusing. It's also pricier than Whole Foods sometimes so I don't do my main grocery shopping here. Overall, it's a great grocery store if you sign up for the emails that tell you the daily deals. read more

Tonight my friend went to Fresh Market to purchase some gluten free crackers for me. Unfortunately, both the brands he got were awful. Him and I went back to exchange them for something else. We got crackers and tortilla chips. When I got home we opened the bag and once I had my first bite of the chips, I noticed they were extremely stale. I looked at the bag and noticed they are expired!! By over a month!! We looked at each other in disgust. I would understand if these chips were a few days old or even a week but over a month?? That is unacceptable. Especially with how expensive this store can be. This is the 3rd time Fresh Market sold me food that was spoiled. The snack mix $4.50 was stale and the oil was rancid. The sell by date is listed 3/7/24. It's December and they are saying this opened product is good until March. I was disappointed to see that the recipe for the chicken salad has changed. What use to be visible chicken chucks is now grinded down..Terrible mouth feel, and there is most definitely ground bone fragments like the ingredient disclosure list. It has been awhile since purchased bc last time I purchased the salad it was spoiled. Fresh Market is the only chain other than Ingles that sells old food at a premium price. It's too bad they once had really good rotisserie chicken salad. It's now called roasted chicken salad $11.99lb total crap. read more

It is interesting how a place that brought organic and fresh ingredients to many American cities seems so behind the times in today's world. Relative to the competitors that are quickly expanding, from Sprouts to Whole Foods to Trader Joe's, alongside local stores, the quality and selection at Fresh Market is very subpar. As an example, finding a tasty and ripe tomato that is organic is nearly impossible here. There were no Serrano peppers today. Butter lettuce was nowhere to be found. The cilantro has been brought to nearly freezing temperatures, making it lose its scent and flavor. Local produce or meats are few and far between. Seafood is hit or miss, the shrimp were not fresh. During today's visit, the gentleman cutting the cheeses did not even use gloves and kept just wiping hands on the jeans. Wines are overpriced with a 20-30% markup. This was likely the last visit here. In the realm of increased competition of healthy food stores, Fresh Market appears to have a tough time securing a spot. read more

The people who work here rock. Unfortunately, the food is not fresh! I've been shopping at fresh market for years, but recently noticed the produce and premade foods have really lacked quality. This location didn't have basil, tasteless corn, the lemon orzo salad which used to be my favorite tasted spoiled, and the one type of fresh mozzarella they did have was spoiled (I realized this when I got home). The quality of the food is so bad it almost feels like this location is about to go out of business. It's really disappointing to spend so much money on food that's supposed to be high-quality and receive the opposite. Ice cream. Icecream. Icecream. Icecream!!! So I'll stop screaming, just long enough to tell you to GO. Go to Fresh Market now and get you some Graeter's. I am a huge fan of ice cream- the really good kinds (though, honestly, how much ice cream is ever bad? It's like pizza. You know what I mean) - and Graeter's is my new fave. It is one of those $6-ish pint brands and TFM has ALL the flavors; you can find some at Publix and more at Whole Foods, but this Fresh Market location seems to have the most. The main two reasons I love Graeter's: the unbelievably creamy texture; and the chips. They make a number of "chip" flavors- vanilla, mint and black raspberry being the most common. The chips can only be described as thicker pieces of the DQ chocolate you get in a dipped cone. The taste and the texture are the same but Graeter's chocolate is often found in big ol' chunks throughout the pint. 2016 became the Year of Ice Cream for me (hey, I was sick and getting well for a long time and ice cream helped) and Graeter's smooth, chocolate-pocked-vanilla-ness was always gold-star worthy. Totally worth nearly $15 for a couple of pints to enjoy on a Saturday night. read more

No longer loving my former favorite store. I have like the specialty feel to this market for years. But over the last year this store slipped so much from what was a place of delight for me to the point i'm getting disappointed each time i enter the store. Almost every time i shop here it pick up some Roasted Chicken Salad. I just love the distinct flavor. The salad was terrible and not the same at all. It seems one by one, my favorite items in this store have disappeared or been replaced. In my last 10 times the wonderful Rosemary, Sea Salt bread had huge holes in center, often making at least 1/3 of the loaf unusable as sliced bread. At $4.49 per loaf i expect much better. Most of the great bakery desserts have gone away. The soup area is not maintained leaving me uncomfortable to buy any. The Olive bar is never labeled right. I could go on, but now i'm disgusted. I'm not sure whether it is just this location or the whole company. But I'm finding little reason to return. read more

The Fresh Market has a neighborhood market feel to it. The parking lot is much smaller than traditional grocery stores; it's about the size of what you'd find in front of a drug store. That means I can always find a good parking space pretty close to the store entrance. In addition to groceries they sell flowers, greeting cards, gourmet candles and wine. My favorite part of Fresh Market is the bulk candy aisles. They have assorted chocolates, jellybeans, fruit flavored candies and nuts that you can bag and weigh yourself. Or you can buy them pre-packaged in clear plastic containers. They've got some great candy options for those snackish moments. Minus 1.5 stars for sticker shock at the register. I would shop here more often if the prices weren't sky high. read more

This Fresh Market location is super convenient for lunch or for a quick grocery run. It's less than a 10 minute walk from my employment and has a lot of options for lunch. Sandwich wraps, deli sandwiches, sushi, snacks, soups, and other food items available. I usually opt for the sandwiches, soups, or sushi. Bik is the man for sushi! He'll hook you up with spicy mayo sauce for your rolls if you ask. He makes them fresh daily. Other than lunch items, they also have a great selection of flowers, fruits, juices, vegetables, snacks, and baked goods. Store is laid out nicely and you can easily locate anything you would need. Random fact: In the seafood section is where you'll find spicy Cajun crab dip. In case you're allergic to crustaceans, it's made with artificial crab meat; still check the label though. It's the perfect snacking option for me. For office parties, anything from the bakery is a win, even the spicy Cajun crab dip. Staff is attentive and helpful. Facility is kept clean and all areas are nicely lit and stocked. Exit off to the side of Fresh Market for easier access to going south on Peachtree Rd. Be careful with parking here to go to any of the medical offices close by. They will boot you. read more

After leaving Whole Foods, this Fresh Market was kinda disappointing. My daughter and I were on a quest to find foods for a party I was talked into throwing at the last minute, and we also wanted a quick bit to eat. For some reason, maybe it was just late in the day (almost 6pm)but nothing in the hot food section looked fresh. We went with the baby back ribs and the mac and cheese, both which were passable, but then at this point so would a sandwich from Subway, and the sandwiches would have been $15 dollars cheaper. Also, the flowers looked a little wilted. Mabye if I hadn't just walked out of whole foods 5 minutes before I came here, I wouldn't have noticed all these little things... We also got a few items from the bakery, two things that irk me is when a store clerk repeats everything I say....I ordered a carrot cake slice, and a cheesecake slice, and he repeated it 5 times before he put them in the little plastic thingy. The cashier didn't greet us..or say anything else just began ringing up the food...and when I asked her where are the forks for the take out food, she just pointed and never said anything to me other than to tell me the total of my purchase. I like coming here during the holidays. The smell of cinnamon, spices, and everything nice provokes a homecoming feeling. Usually upon entering, you are greeted with stands of pretty, colorful flowers. I usually frequent the hot bar. The staff here don't look like they really want to be there. I usually get gruff service. However, I still like getting the meal deals. Today, there was the $7 deal for one entree, two sides. The entrees were the cheapest items on the bar though.. Meatballs? No thanks. You can try a sample of the sides. I like maybe 15% of the stuff I've had and tried. Since the entree is already fattening, I prefer a healthy side. Most of the sides are loaded with carbs or cream though. The high quality of the produce remind me of Whole Foods. Expensive, organic, etc. I would visit here only if it's convenient and I don't want to think too much about where to eat. read more

The fresh market is not the place to go if you are on a budget. However if you can afford it once in a while and it is close to your work then why not. I work very close to this location and man almost everything I really like. Maybe one or two things in the bakery I didn't care for but anyway. This is my heaven they have gluten-free bread they have almond milk they have energy bars they have peanut butter bars they have seltzer water and the sparkling water order also the people are very friendly the people who work in the sushi area and In the bakery are really friendly as well. I'm about to go there and pick up a fruit tart and one of their natural juices and watch either a lecture on YouTube or some Netflix. Hit me up guys! read more

Love this place! I wanted to commend the security guard monitoring the front entrance. He takes our safety seriously during each opening. He's consistently is working everyday and follows protocol. Recently, he got BASHED by customers who didn't want to wear a MASK. This is great behavior or treatment for anyone who passionately protect us. Please write a small comment in THE FRESH MARKET box. I love shopping here as they have such diffferent intent items than any other grocery store. I would be here a lot more but $$$.

I love this place! The seafood is delicious,and so are the prepared desserts. I was a little disappointed by the selection of sides available on NYE, but was so happy to see 2 for 1 lobster tails. Oh. if you like brisket, they always have it and they usually will weigh it after they remove the fat (if you ask). They have a great candy selection too. I found Kid's jelly belly jellybeans with all of my favorite flavors. They also have a great selections of items in bulk too. The wine selection is nice, but it is clearly more money than Publix or the YDFM. The staff here is very friendly and always willing to help, which is nice. I know this sounds weird, but I love how they have 2 entrances, one off Peachtree, and one off a side street with a light. It makes needing to make a left turn so much easier. read more

I'm not sure but I think this location used to be further north on Peachtree near what is now Sports Authority. I love this location and it is colorful, warm and inviting. It's hard to describe, but when you walk in, you feel welcomed. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but I don't agree with the general perception that this place is more expensive than Whole Foods. In fact, I would suggest there are certain specialty foods - candies, dried fruits, baked chicken, etc. - that are cheaper here than other places and are definitely of higher quality. P.S. Came there about 1130 to get some food and I got to say is the worst customer service I've ever had.I kept asking questions from employees it was ignored not buy one before different employees like as if I didn't exist so I politely told the cash register I will no longer be needing to purchase.The fresh market was a convenient option for me to do that it's only across the street from my job I'm a healthcare worker but instead I will politely get in my car and drive a mile down to Publix instead. Fresh market is awesome. Aside from the large price tag associated with every single item in store I will openly admit that I love it all and will pay for certain things when necessary or wanted. I won't shop here for milk bread or eggs but I like it for a chocolate croissant and Greek yogurt in the morning. Some fresh sushi or shrimp salad (my fav, very good) for a quick snack or the endless supply of candy. They have one of the largest displays and offerings of chocolate covered anythings, jelly beans of all colors, raw sugar, nuts and licorice. The saltwater taffy is great and I love that it's individually wrapped considering I like ONE flavor. The seasoning rack is huge and they have great selections of spices and herbs that aren't typically offered in a grocery type store. Good nick-nacks and pretty bouquets up front. They even had peonies last time I was there that were gorgeous and made me want to throw a dinner party. I like the calm atmosphere and good vibe of the overall place. Good variety of high quality groceries, for little higher prices obviously. I come here frequently and I like the store but there are a few things they could do better. For example, the deli counter has rather unfriendly and slow staff. Also, some of the things (sides, entrees, etc.) they offer in the counter have been the same for many years and I think many of us have gotten tired of them. Also their pre made sandwiches and wraps are bland, use sub par breads and lack creativity! Turkey and swiss (for $7) is just not that interesting, sorry. This is the reason I stopped going there to grab a quick bite for lunch. Also, how about offering to make the sushi to order around lunch time so it won't get cold in the cooler? This is simply the loveliest market. They have excellent prepared foods in the deli section. Great fish and meat selections. Tasty baked goods. The tart is a favorite of mine! Wine selection is good with great prices. I have a hard time leaving without picking up an orchid. The have a great selection! It is so calm and peaceful in this place.
