Just visited this kroger, and I will not be returning. On my way out i counted SIX (6) employees with their mask either completely off, or not covering the mouth and nose. The employees also seemed to be goofing off, and playing around on shopping carts. During the COVID-19 pandemic this is NOT okay, and it is very clear that this location does not care about the safety of themselves, nor others. I do not reccomended anyone who is worried about catching this virus to shop here. read more

I enjoy the wine selection at this Kroger. This is a huge location with more varieties. Plenty of parking and well lit at night.

This location was amazing when it first opened. Friendly staff, super clean, and great selection. We bought our groceries here, used the gas station, and filled every prescription at the pharmacy. I don't know what happened, but in the short time this location has been open, the quality of everything has plummeted. The staff looks miserable, the customer service is rude and unhelpful, the facility is dirty and sticky, and the pharmacy staff is awful (with the exception of a younger black guy who is always awesome and friendly). The tipping point for me was honestly the service received at the pharmacy a few days ago. The black lady with short hair has a way of making you feel like a drug addict/dealer (not the only person I have talked to who feels this way). Corporate really needs to step in and make some changes. READ YOUR REVIEWS! I will be switching over to HEB. read more

Just went into this "Barker Cypress" location and used the self check out. The keypad that you use for paying wasn't registering my alternate ID, so I asked the lady Sharon who was working that area for assistance. She immediately came over with an attitude!! I let her know that I've been using the same alternate ID for years and I made 3 attempts before seeking assistance. She made a remark as if I was lieing and didn't know what I was doing. So I told her never mind and she walked away. Once I made my purchase, I told her she might need to go home and that I was reporting her behavior. (Verbatim) She said I am going home at 2 o'clock so what, and that she hope I call the news people too! That's when I took my phone out and took her picture, which you can see her posing nonchalantly, with the I don't give a hell about my job smirk. Great selection. Often has things that I cannot find at the HEB on Fry. Clean and well organized. DIP clothing line is awesome. I even came across a great deal on a kitchenaid mixer. I didnt buy it...but went back and it was gone. They deli staff is awesome and the butcher is accommodating. Nothing bad to say! read more

I absolutely am thrilled to live across the street from such a wonderful Kroger! Not only is it nice and beautiful and clean but it's the people that work there that make the store! One lady in particular her name is Carolyn McGrewery, she is an assistant manager and she is so caring and so friendly all the time! She did something really special that no one else would probably ever do! She saw me admiring the ceramic Halloween pumpkins outside! When I passed by her I told her I just love those and asked her if they ever run them on sale! She said yes they do at the end of the season and I said yes I know about that sale because by the time I got here when I got off work they were all gone! And she said which one do you like and I showed her the one I liked and it was a beautiful big one and she said I'm going to give it to you for for a special price and the price was unbelievable! I had told her I was trying to find one for my grandchildren and then she did that so I could get one and I just thought that was above and beyond the call of duty! There's also another Young girl that works there by the name of Latashia Mcleary and I'm probably also spelling her name wrong but she's always in there at night time when I come late! She is really the sweetest person and is always so kind and so willing to help me in anyway when I'm trying to scan my groceries which by the way I'm not good at! so don't be trying to hire me Kroger! Lol! Anyway like I said the store is beautiful and they have a great selection of everything! The store is nice and offers many great things but the aggressive incidents I had with the clicklist lady just ended my patronage here. Complained to store management about the months of bad experiences and he doesn't care. Situation never handled. Go to HEB on Tuckerton and Fry or barker and 290, where the employees like their jobs and they have everything you need and more! read more

This place is hugeeeeeee. Wonderful selection and good prices. Love the organics/natural foods section. Only complaint- the salad bar selection is terrible. I'd say a 1 on a scale of 1-10 in comparison to Whole Foods salad bar. Fresh sushi though! You can even ask for customization. Love the Starbucks as well. read more

I've gone to this Kroger once a week since it opened even though I live a couple of blocks away from the one at Hwy 6 @ West because that one is a complete rat hole. I always liked this one until they started remodeling it recently (after only being open 4 years!). It looks like they are downgrading it by removing the really nice olive bar and some of the gourmet items I always bought are nowhere to be found. Some of the fancy pickles that used to be kept refrigerated are now just stuck on a shelf. It seems they just started placing items randomly throughout the store. Hopefully after it's done they'll restock items I can't find now. Don't want this place turning into Food Town. Shopping is not very fun so I like going to a nice store when I go. read more

I found this Kroger somewhat by accident and I am so happy I did!!! I have been shopping at this location for over a year and is now my grocery store of choice! I have always found the staff friendly, helpful and truly interested in keeping me as a customer! They have ordered products that they did not have on their shelves to add to the permanent product line and even lowered a price permanently when I mentioned that I go to a different store for an item due to price! I really enjoy this Kroger but it has a few flaws that keep me from rating it 5 stars. I really like the selection and the location, it's pretty great but the issue is that the associates who are on the floor to help tend to hide away. If you're looking for a product, good luck! This is my main grocer. It's massive! And has everything I need to check off the weekly items on my shopping list, and then some. The checkout lines are never long. And if there is a wait, nearly every time I've been there, a new register is opened quickly. My daughter especially likes the "ankle killers"... sorry, the mini baskets for kids! Decent organic selection, sushi, and food samples on the weekends are a plus too! read more

Really terrible customer service! The little girl (tohaj)that checked me out tried to snatch the coupons from my hand and got mad when I held on to them! After I sorted them out I gave them to her and she laid 2 on the counter and said these don't work and proceeded to talk with her friend on the other register- I asked her why and she huffed and started trying to find the items in the bag- she looked and started punching things into the register. She was so mad she laid my receipt down and turned away. I did get credit for my items but why should I take that- I called the manager Thomas and half way through my complaint he started talking to someone else! I told him that was rude and he said "what do you want me to do for you sir" very rude. Don't think I'll be going back- too many other choices. read more

I love coming here; it is very convenient since I am a resident of Towne Lake and it is not even 5 minutes away from where we live. I love how clean and big it is! I recently moved to Texas from Arizona and this was my first impression of a "Kroger". I was very pleased with the location, the prices, the jewelry store, the selection/products, etc... HOWEVER the staff there is ridiculously immature. There seems to be a lack of management and that is a shame. I often see young workers playing around, on their phones, laughing chasing each other around the store and simply acting like kids. Management and employees made me rate this only 3 stars. This was a really nice store when it opened. It has been my go-to store. I absolutely hate the remodel. The re-org of the store has made it frustrating and tiresome to find what you need. The new layout just makes no sense to me. I think my husband and I both circled the store a few times looking for the bulk nuts section so we could by some fresh ground peanut butter. We finally found it at the front of the store and the machines were "out of order". The customer service is lacking here too. When the checker (Crystal) makes no eye contact and doesn't speak to you the entire time, it does not speak well to their hiring choices. I have grown tired of dealing with the constant out of stocks by 11am on a Sunday, bad customer service and horrible new layout. When I went to get gas, the card readers were not working. Finally, an article came out today saying a subsidiary of Kroger was no longer going to be taking Visa and that its likely all of Kroger will follow suit. Well I use my Visa exclusively so I can collect points. That is just final thing for me. I am moving my business to HEB. read more

Nice selection, affordable, regular sales on products I buy. Very friendly staff- the seafood guy even got a lobster out for my 4 the old to look at up close. Only problem is the baggers. I worked at a Kroger while in college- we were required to watch a video about how to bag which I recall thinking was ridiculously basic. I think the employees here desperately need to watch that video. The first time I left with 25 (no joke) plastic bags for less than a full cart of food. Most of them had only one item. Now I bring my reusable bags but they can't seem to look more than two inches in front of their faces- they just pack the next item in line- frozen food on top of warm, apples on top of bread. I now group the items together when I go, but they still can't get it right. If I wasn't trying to corral two little boys, I'd bag it myself. Oh yeah- in house Starbucks (always nice treat while shopping) and LARGE organic/natural foods aisle. International foods could use more choices there especially the non-Chinese Asian food (Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, etc), and could not find any middle eastern offerings. read more

Nice store, really big sometimes I can't find what I need so its definitely not an "in and out" kinda store. The produce department is horrible any leafy greens always have brown on them the zucchini was all destroyed with very little on shelf, what's with the multi size of everything just to charge more? Avocados very over priced for the hard not ripped product. I will not be going back due to the lack of produce quality and over charge I will stick with HEB. read more

I don't usually do comments and reviews with grocery stores, but I have to make an exception here. I lost a bag last night that held some very expensive oil and things for a recipe I needed to make. I was worried about going in with nothing but my receipt and good word. But this Kroger handled my issue WONDERFULLY. I wish I had gotten the girl's name that helped me, but she dropped what she was doing to help me. She gave me wonderful customer service and was so kind and considerate to me. Awesome Kroger store. The background... We were new to the neighborhood, tried the store on 529 and Barker... two cashiers on duty at 8:00 pm on a Saturday night, both taking their time, having conversations with other employees. Tried one more time, similar experience. Next up was the Kroger on Hwy 6 at West. They were better, but not much, still nothing like our excellent customer experience at West and Beltway 8. We were about to give up and commit to making the 20 minute drive to our old store, then a colleague told me about the Kroger Marketplace on Barker and Tuckerton. WOW! Friendly associates, good teamwork, great deli workers (always get a smile!) and the deli has a ticketing system, order at the terminal, shop and pick up your order after you shop, excellent butchers that know how to cut special cuts (Standing Rib Roast, etc). The store also has "Click-it" service if you are in a hurry. I understand that the previous manager had issues, poor teamwork, sub-standard employees, but they have it under control now. Clean bathrooms, engaged employees, etc. I'm loving it. read more

I really love this Kroger because they have everything and I love the samples (lol) but I suppose people don't like it because of the staff.. Personally I haven't had any major issues with them so I'm okay. I can tell that a lot of them are new and young so I guess that's a given... But anyways, I like this Kroger because of the Starbucks, the large toy aisle, how it's close to Bank of America and that it has a really nice gas station. I used to always go to the HEB a little further up, but I'm hardly ever there anymore and I don't feel safe there either (women getting their purses snatched). I would like to try their food but I always end up at Kroger after 7 so by that time they stop serving dinner haha. I also really like how the aisles are bigger so you don't really have to work your way around people much, or bump into them. They also have cute little carts for kids :p read more

I have been going to this Kroger since opening day. At first the employees were attentive. I guess time has allowed that service has deteriorated. Today I went to the Starbucks and the guy behind the counter took my order. A Carmel Ribbon Crunch. He stated they could not make it. I questioned because his response was in the tone that he did not care. He could not serve me this order. Then he stated they could not serve coffee drinks. I stated Starbucks had no coffee? So I ordered a Cream drink... After all I was ordering it for my daughter. OK Starbucks had no coffee in a Market Place Kroger. Don't they have a full isle of coffee? I called into the store and the guy I spoked to sounded stoned and clearly didn't care that they aren't doing anything right. I will never shop at any Kroger's again after the experience I had with this location! The click list employees don't care and don't even know what they are doing or what is going on! They literally brought out my groceries...walked around with them and left them in front of my car and start bringing out other orders. Finally after a 30 minute wait after he done spoke to me 15 mins in and told me they were waiting on a few more items... I asked him how much longer?! He said isn't your name so and so, I said yes. He said these are your groceries. Mind you it's the same one that have been just sitting outside for the past 15 mins. I told him to just cancel my order and he literally just walked away. Great customer service! Your people truly care about the customers...what a joke! HEB will have my business from here on out and I will be sure to tell my neighbors, basically my whole extended family since we all live in the neighborhood! Anyone that will listen! read more

I was grocery shopping with my four month old twin girls today and accidentally checked out in the 15 items or less lane. The cashier brought it to my attention over and over again and I apologized like four times. I don't feel like I should get any special treatment because I have the babies with me but I also don't think it's necessary to keep mentioning it. Before I left he said "by the way you've done this before" (checking out in the express with more than 15 items) and I said "I don't think it was me, I usually shop after 9pm" and she said "you have" in a snarky tone. He even made a comment about how he now needs to look up produce codes since I had fruits and vegetables. None of the other lines were long and the one man behind me was very nice and he want in a hurry at all. It was my first time being a new mom taking my girls out and this is how I was treated by an employee of kroger. Shame that a nice new store has such rude employees. I think I'll make the extra drive to HEB so I don't ever grocery shop and leave feeling humiliated and on the verge of tears. read more
