I avoid this kroger for multiple reasons, but i was forced today to due to having a shipt order at this location, they had no checkout lanes out but self checkout, i went to the self checkout which i do sometimes especially at some locations that's all they have, is self checkout, but nonetheless the young man who was attending the self checkout i was at, was all over the place, stood there waiting for assistance for some time while he helped everyone who came after me and then when it came to me, he told me i wasn't suppose to check out my shipt items there and then walked away, left me waiting for longer while he helped out customers after me, finally said something he goes it's busy, i go well you need to help your customers who's been waiting first, he proceeds to come and take the order and then asked him to take the tax off because that's the whole reason i needed assistance and i get my receipt and he didn't take the tax off which caused me more grief then the order was worth. cashier name was Mark and mark definitely needs a lil bit of coaching!!!!!! I've been coming here for 3 years and I've always had a great experience! Friendly, helpful staff in every department other than the pharmacy. The pharmacists can be a bit rude & act like they wish you weren't there, but it's the cheapest place with my insurance and good rx. The store is never out of anything I'm looking for (AMAZING, since my husband and I both work 50 + hrs /week and can't come to the store more than once every 10 days or so...). It's almost always busy in here, so try to avoid the 5p weekday rush! There are also ALWAYS stocking carts throughout the aisles which can be a bit inconvenient, but like I said above, at least they're never out of anything! read more

I basically use this store mostly for their prescription department because I live nearby making it quite convenient for me. With some exceptions, I prefer to do the bulk of my (grocery) shopping at other stores in the area that I find are more suitable for me. I would have given this Kroger 4 or possibly even 5 stars were it not for the fact that the employees here are surly, rude and uncaring with zero personality. I will add though, with some exceptions. It's a large store so the selections are very good. And, when an item is on sale, it's usually priced very well. read more

Although this Kroger is conveniently located no more than 5min away from where i live, it's very disappointing!! I went there on a Sunday (apparently a bad idea). They were completely out of chicken broth, chicken breast, (which were the main ingredients i needed to make tortilla soup), and many other things! I am quite disappointed in their produce section as well. So i usually end up having to drive further out to different grocery stores. The employees are always very nice and helpful though and the huge self checkout is a plus. I really believe this kroger would be better off with a change in management because they seem irresponsible and apparently high. read more

The person checking me out was very nice and showed person in bakery and instead of fixing they gave him an attitude about it and told him I will bring you the icing you fix it then! I went into Kroger's to pick up some "snacky" stuff for a party that I was going to, and was disappointed in their selection of prepared foods. I ended up opting for some hummus from the olive bar and some crackers, when what I really wanted was some cooked shrimp and a veggie tray. No matter. This is a pretty average grocery store, carrying things that grocery stores normally carry. You know what those are, right? I don't have to go into it? Good. They also have a deli counter with meats and cheeses, and a Starbucks coffee bar, for you caffeine addicts who can't make it over to Mudsmith. Parking is easy, and the parking lot is well-lit. I probably won't make this my regular grocery store -- Sprouts and Trader Joe's have that well in hand -- but I can imagine it being convenient for a late-night run (they are open from 6am to 1am) once Sprouts is closed. read more

I went to this grocery store for the first time this weekend - it was a Sunday night around 5 p.m. I had a fantastic experience! It was clean, organized, not crowded and just a really enjoyable time. There were fresh samples in the produce area (fruit, veggies, even sushi!) that I really enjoyed. There was also a nice selection of organic or regular food options - so you can get a little bit of both, if you'd like. And the employees were very nice! From the ones grabbing my cart in the parking lot, to the samplers to the bag handlers - they even unloaded my cart and put everything onto the rotating belt for me. This location is fantastic! We actually got lucky enough last week to stumble upon the wine section reset and grabbed some ridiculously fantastic bottles of wine for even more ridiculously low prices. In general though, the service has never been any thing but genuinely fantastic every time I've been there, and I do go pretty frequently. Everything is pretty easy to find, which is not always the case in grocery stores. The variety and selection is vast, as well. They even had ring pops when I was trying to put together something for my bridesmaids. I looked everywhere at other stores and couldn't find them, and they were just there at Kroger! The parking is never an issue there, and the lot feels pretty secure. It's in a pretty good location, and it's easy to get in and out of the lot since it's not right at a busy intersection to get right out. If you need to go left on Haskell, it's easy to get out to the light to do so. It's also close to a gym, a bank, a Target, and another couple of shopping centers, so you can get a lot done on your trip to the grocery. For a grocery store, this place is pretty nice. I had no idea it existed even though I work a few miles to the south. I always thought most everything in this area was a little sketch, but this Kroger and the very closeby apartments and LA Fitness are all new and very nice. The parking lot is also brightly lit which made me feel better about stopping by at night. They have your typical grocery store fare, though it seems cleaner with some additional products and a more thoughtful layout. They even have half gallons of freshly squeezed orange juice without any extra crap in it, which I thought was pretty cool. Not a huge selection of prepared foods, though that doesn't bother me. Produce was really well organized (which rarely seems to be the case at most grocery stores) and it looked very fresh. It also appears that they have a loft area upstairs where you can sit and enjoy your coffee and use the Wifi, which is nice. It's a little reminiscent of Central Market in that way. Everything else was in line with what else you would expect from a grocery store. Will stop by in the future if I need a few items on the way home from work. read more

Twice I had an issue with Maria in the bakery. Both times, no manager was to be found. I've written emails to corporate and this store and no one wants to be bothered with it. Never has anyone contacted me. The last time I was in this woman kept starting an argument with me while wearing her Kroger outfit, claiming to be a customer. The selection is awesome for most of the produce and organic products. The store is very clean well organized. However, the checkout lines are awful. The cashiers have attitudes 99.9% of the time. I never see any of them smile and they are always on their phones. I honestly feel when I go checkout I am inconveniencing them. Last time I went the girl bagging the groceries forgot to bag some of the items, which I had to go back to the store for a second time. Plus the checkout girls don't know how to bag groceries to save their life. I relive that scene from Zoolander, when they are looking for the files in the computer, every single time I ask for paper bags. Also, I'm not sure how many times I've filled out the form to get a Kroger plus card, but they have yet to place my phone number in the system. Lastly, not to be overly picky, is it to much to ask to get paper bags with handles? read more

They honestly don't even deserve one star. The service here is so bad. As I write this, I'm standing in the "Guest Care" line, where me and four other people have been waiting for over 10 minutes. I've asked multiple times for someone to help, their system includes knocking on a door until someone feels like coming out. This is the second time this has happened. Every time I've been here, someone has asked for a manager, so I'm going to guess that I'm not the only one that is having issues here. If you can go somewhere else, do that. If you are doing anything outside of grocery shopping and are okay with self checkout, they also regularly don't have normal lines open, go somewhere else. read more

This new Kroger is great. Granted it took over the spot where my favorite money theater was for years but I haven't gotten over that. The area definitely needed a good full service grocery store. I will be curious as to how it is after a few years but it first few months have seemed great the few times I have been. Good selection of fresh produce, clean and nice. read more

My last visit, and I do mean last, less than a week ago, was horrifying... All shopping carts were in the parking lot, smell of burning refrigerator motor when you first enter, dirty floors, dirty disorganized dairy case, poorest overall product selection, "employees" going through the motions and wearing whatever they want which may or may not include a company uniform, closed deli department, including a sign saying not enough staff, crappy quality produce, some of which had very low stock and showing many produce bins in beed of cleaning, get near the meat/fish department and there's a profound smell of something rotting. And finally two "security" guards socializing with relatives, friends, and employees. Did I mention the place needs cleaning, including the checkouts and glass covers of the UPC readers? Have respect for yourself your hard earned $$ and patronize Tom Thumb nearby, 2727 Live Oak Street! read more

My only main complaint is the parking. I guess because it shares a parking lot with a gym and an apartment complex? It's a lot smaller than a few other Kroger's nearby. Don't even know where to begin. Twice we've bought two bags of shredded cheese, only to find when we open it, it's gone bad, in spite of distant expiration dates. First time we thought it was our fault, but then it happened again--the very next visit. We also bought some tortillas and within days of buying them noticed there was mold had taken over, even though they last weeks when purchased--the same brand--from other stores. Also, green tomatoes, we bought a bunch and about a third of them had little wholes where little bugs/worms had clearly left their mark. Since green tomatoes have a leafy covering, you don't realize this until it's too late. This again we chucked it up to our fault the first time around, but the second it happened again with almost half of them being bad. All of this happened within 2 visits, and both times we had to leave without purchasing tomatoes because their selection was visibly horrible. One of those times we also refrained from buying from the ugly onions, but the second time we were in a time crunch and ended up buying two...when we got home to use them, they were bad to the core, we couldn't even pull the ugly layers off and use the inside. Just horrible, clearly nobody cares about the quality or freshness of the food. read more

The curb-side service has gone downhill significantly in the past months. The store either needs to hire more employees to manage the increased demand due to COVID or provide better training. Wait times have increased significantly to the point that you have to return and come back 45 minutes to 2 hours after the designated pick up time. Yesterday, I arrived at 7:30 pm to pick up my items. After 5 minutes on hold, an employee informs me that the order is not ready (despite their app reminding me to pick up my order an hour prior). She tells me it'll be an hour and a half wait. While frustrated that this was not communicated to me before the pick up time, I understood delays happen, especially now. I return at 9:15 pm only to be told that they stop providing the curb-side service at 9pm. I told the employee that this should have been communicated to me when they told me to return an hour and half after 7:30. Today, I return to pick up my groceries for a third time. I watch the delivery guy haul the cart to every car parked in the designated area and speak to each customer before finally figuring out he should look at the number written on the paper in his hand which clearly states to take the groceries to spot #5. After getting the groceries and hauling them home, I discover half of the order is missing. I refuse to go back a FOURTH time to get the groceries that should have been ready 24 hours ago. I will not be returning to this location as they clearly are incapable of handling the increased demands placed on them. read more

My bread completely smashed my milks were just thrown into the trunk(shocked they were not busted) a handful of things were missing and 15 mins later I was called to say 1 item wasn't given to me. They might as well have given me a completely different order! What's the point of this? They pick out the absolute worst produce possible and if they can't find an item they say screw it and just say they were out which is bullshit! I will never do this again! read more

So, today I had to take a moment and broke out into tears in the middle of Kroger at Cityplace in Dallas. I had been shopping and was about ready to check out when I witnessed their loss prevention officer harassing a woman based on her appearance. The woman had a couple of dollars in her hand and was wanting to purchase a drink. She scrounged up enough money for the drink and was heading to check out when the loss prevention officer told her she HAD to pay for the item immediately. Whether she was still shopping or not. She proceeded to guide this woman to the self checkout and force her to pay (which the woman planned to do anyway). The loss prevention officer THEN proceeded to follow this woman as she went to the lounge to sit and enjoy her cold beverage on a super hot summer day. Then proceeded to sit and stare at her and gossip to employees at the Starbucks within this Kroger location. I WAS HEATED and couldn't believe my eyes. We found a manager, Billy, and explained the situation to him. He proceeded to try to use a PR firm written excuse that the loss prevention officers do not represent Kroger. I stopped him right there. Dead in his tracks. Kroger, a large corporation, contracts these loss prevention officers from a company in order to protect their assets. They do not hire them to harass any individual they feel does not fit the mold of someone with money. The politically correct corporate excuse I was given did not sit well with me. Neither did any of the managers rebuttals. The loss prevention officer is a contractor that, while on duty at your establishment, DIRECTLY reflects on the values of your company. Moral of the story, never judge a book by its cover and Kroger at Cityplace needs to get their shit together. I was in the store an hour and never once was followed and harassed to pay for items immediately after grabbing them off the shelf. Needless to say, I put everything back. read more

Since moving to the Knox/Henderson area I've been hard pressed for a grocery store that could offer the wide selection that I am used to finding in a full service store. But then the beauty opened up and I am in heaven. It's got the deals and ethnic stuff that I would go to Fiesta for. And the organic options that I would go to Sprouts for. I'm sold. read more

This Kroger store is the absolute worst store when it comes to customer service/check out. Clerks don't even acknowledge you when you check out. Baggers don't speak to you either, however they banter and carry on conversations with the cashiers as if you are not even standing there. And there is one checkout clerk that insist you put your items on the belt in certain order. If you don't she gets upset and starts slamming your stuff around. Others will yell at you from other checkouts and order you to come to their lines. Not in a nice customer friendly tone. They speak down to you. Self check out is no better. Half the time there are errors on the system. The am "kiosk clerk" is so slowwwww and she acts as if you are annoying her when she finally arrives to correct the issue with the machine. The store itself is fine, and the OTHER store employees are courteous, helpful and professional. On a positive note, there is a Starbucks inside, however the baristas there are AWFUL! Customers deserve better. Just take your business across the street to super target or go up the road to Central Market and Tom Thumb. Pros: good produce, meat market, salad bar Starbucks inside Cons Bad customer service at checkout and front office Starbucks baristas are the worst I have ever dealt with. My experience with this store is mainly mornings and early afternoons. Perhaps pm side employees are better trained. Reviewers need to make sure they specify when they go to this store most often with regard to their review. read more

WORST Kroger, actually grocery store seriously ever. We live a block away so unfortunately stuck going their over the last 2 years and it never seizes to disappoint. Expired bread, milk, only self checkout opened majority of the time with 1 person helping (lines are out the door). Deli staff are never in any kind of hurry and consistently rude. In my opinion, while this is a gorgeous Kroger, Kroger in general is just alright. If you take the time to peruse you can find some deals. A lot of brand name stuff is $1 or so more than it is at other grocery stores. I visited this location to make some photocopies. I had been getting them for ten cents a page and on this particular visit the employee behind the desk said they were a dollar a page. I was appalled. I asked why the price changed and she said it was because when they got the printer they didn't really know what they were going to charge but now it's been decided it's a dollar/page. That doesn't make any sense. I was going to give this location 2 stars just for that but I'll leave three because sometimes you can find a good deal or two here and I do shop at the one near my house... read more

I don't know why I do this to myself. I stopped in to grab a few things, namely some fresh produce. I don't get how a grocery store can be this unkempt. Every fresh ingredient I bought had something wrong with it. The oregano was browning when I opened the package and only a few sprigs was usage (you couldn't tell through the packaging), and half my garlic was bad once peeled.
