As far as Kroger's go, this location is fairly well run. Which is something I don't often say about Kroger. The aisles were free of stocking obstacles and looked like aisles The staff was extremely helpful. The store layout made sense. Not handy for me, but I've been a few times over the years if I happen to be nearby. Consistently good experiences. Seems small in a way, but it's pretty big. I'm not a big fan of Kroger in general- too expensive, sometimes limited selections. Never do my whole shopping here. But for convenience runs, checking to see if they carry a brand others don't, etc., it's fine. I ended up with one thing I was looking for and one impulse buy (on sale.) Self-service so I never dealt with staff. Decent parking lot for a Kroger (some are wonky.) Pretty easy to find stuff inside. read more

I regularly visit this location because the layout is better than the one on Bethel. I never wait long or really at all for the self checkout and I can always find what I need. I shop at Aldi more now, but I will probably always buy my produce here because I buy the lunchbox-sized apples. They always have a good selection of kombucha and fresh baked goods. If you ever come in the mornings on weekdays, they play music. It's usually oldies or old country, which I LOVE. Not sure who puts on the playlist but it makes for an enjoyable experience. read more

This is a nice Kroger that offers all of the usual sections one might expect: floral, fresh produce, meat/deli, frozen goods, dry goods, basic home and paper goods, liquor, a pharmacy, and the like. The store was clean and had a good selection when I visited. The staff is friendly and helpful, and there is a nice large parking lot. read more

I'm so impressed! This location is not only clean but is STOCKED! Anything you need is there. It's not overpriced as I expected from a Kroger in Upper Arlington. The sales associates are a pleasure. Unlike some Kroger's in nice areas, I didn't feel watched as a Black woman. One particular associate in the Floral section, BJ, was pleasant and helpful. I didn't want to leave! I plan to make this my regular Kroger especially since it has ClickList. I am not happy with the Pharmacy however. Though everyone was nice and helpful, my wife had just come from getting surgery and needed meds quickly, I was quoted 30 minutes and I received the meds in a little under an hour. It was unfortunate since I really like the location. I might keep my meds at the Hilliard location and shop at the UA location. Or maybe I will give them another chance!! Over the years, Kroger bakery products have been getting worse & worse. Recently I bought their cheese cake, it tasted so sweet; like candy. Even the Walmart one is better. Just your average neighborhood grocery store. They do have a good variety of wares and their take away options are solid. Unfortunately, their produce can be improved and they could lower the prices. Shopping at Kroger should be like a regular grocery store and shouldn't have to cost an arm and a leg. There are two Kogers in the area, this one a larger type meant to capture some of the 'Whole Foods' market and one just five blocks away on Bethal. I think it is actually a Kroger's Marketplace though this listing was up before it expanded. As mentioned, this is an expanded Kroger with an added emphasis on farmer's market and organic fare for the northern UA crowd that can not be found on Bethal. Similar too but no where near the size of a Giant Eagle Market Garden, here can be found expanded selection of wines and beers, gormet pastas and mushrooms, a premade pizza department, health drinks and minerals, and expanded deli and bakery. The signs say they buy produce from local farms where they can. The prices are comparable to the GE giant and more easily found, though they don't stock everything. Though it is large everything is orderly and findable. Of course every Koger is laid out differently, which gives them an uniqueness but also an inconsistency store to store. Form versus function in a supermarker venue. Kroger is not known for super customer service and I won't say that it is like Trader Joes or anything, but I find the clerks here more helpful than those on Bethal or other Krogers in town. The prices are affordable and a Kroger card can save you money and gain you gas perks. Although I have never been, they also have a mini-clinic that seems clean, roomy but private. So they bring us Seniors out for our special shopping hour at 7:00AM. Why? The store has not been restocked with anything, no paper goods, very little and no meat products, produce about half stocked. I could have waited until noon for this disappointment. Also I noticed a lot of under 60 people in the store so this was not a special event. read more

The Henderson Road Upper Arlington, Ohio store is decent (I haven't been shopping there long, so my opinion may or may not change over time), but the NOISE is god awful!! I live not far behind this Kroger, and it has some sort of industrial fan type noise that sounds like a Huge Industrial truck or loud clanging/grinding noise DAY AND NIGHT! Multiple people who live near me have said the very same thing, so IT'S NOT JUST ME. I have never heard this kind of noise from a grocery store before. Ever. I can't even sit in my living room without this constant noise driving me nuts! I have to play the radio constantly to try to drown it out. Great store. Pharmacy is wonderful and has a drive up. They recently renovated and the store is great! Good prices. Great customer service and I always see a friendly face! I highly recommend! I use the Kroger app regularly to get event more savings! I drive 15 miles to go shopping here and get my prescriptions here. read more

The management at this Kroger is so friendly! This store is is always clean, well lit, and stocked full of product! There's another Kroger on down the road, but this one is better by far. Update on 4/17: I wanted to edit my review. Sadly, this store has new management. It's honestly gone downhill. Long waits at deli and seafood counter, employees seem unhappy and irritated. They sell rotten meat, have no employees working so there's no customer service (pay employees more to offer incentives), rotten fruits and vegetables, don't accept Apple Pay (in 2021) always running out of produce, and a lot of times only have one lane of self scanners open causing huge lines. I do like Kroger, but each store is a little bit different. In comparing this Kroger to some of the others I have frequented, this store simply does not stack up. Even though it is a big store, their selection seems to be a bit off. A few weeks ago, I went for some specific items from their sale ad, but I couldn't find the variety of the sale item I wanted. For example, they had Almond Breeze on sale. I wanted the sweetened vanilla. Couldn't find it. Didn't even see a slot for it. This happened with several items. They had the product, but not the variety of the product. I had about 10 items on my list, but only came out with two. I went to the Kroger on Bethel and found all the products I wanted. Also, the staff there is not as friendly as some of the other stores. Once I was using the self checkout and an item rang up incorrectly. I showed this to the attendant who removed the incorrect price and left with the product. I said that I still wanted the product, but at the correct price. Apparently that would be too much work to do with as I was told I'd have to go to the Service Desk and talk to the manager. I suggest traveling the extra mile to the Kroger on Bethel who not only has most varieties of the products they have on sale, they have much better customer service. read more

Some of the staff are nice but man, the bosses are so rude! Some of the people there are just so completely full of themselves. They treat other empolyees like trash and as a customer, I always got the impression that they only tolerated me just for my money. Always wearing a fake smile and it was just so insincere. When I would go shopping to this store occasionally, I would see the management yelling at the empolyees and I would feel so bad for them. They are so mean! I would never want to work here. I might just start shopping somewhere else because the management at this place just makes me feel bad. It's an unhappy place to shop and probably even worse to work. Generally not a Kroger fan... long check out lines and slow moving staff.. today was no different, however, what compelled me to post this review was that when shopping at this particular location I had to go two separate places in the store for wine and beer. Literally wine is on one end of the store while beer is on the completely opposite side.. they're essentially bookends in the store. Who in the world planned this? This is a buyer beware on Kroger pharmacy Henderson Rd, Upper Arlington. They made 3 mistakes in one month on my family prescriptions. (1) they said medicine x is not covered by Mom's insurance and there is no generic -- there is a generic and the insurance did cover it (2) I told them to cancel one prescription and fill one and they gave me the wrong medicine at the counter, sealed up in a bag and I had to call and go back to get the right one (3) they told me to wait while they finish medicine Y and when I came back they said the manufacturer discontinued the medicine. On my way home, I ordered the same medicine by phone from Express Scripts. Of course, I will not use them again, too bad, I like the grocery store. This is 100% accurate, by the way. read more

The Kroger sold so many expired and disgusting produce. I found rotten vegetables that were molding and had flies buzzing around it. Many vegetables were alright but a select few were disgusting and made me distrust the freshness of other produce. In the frozen section, I was sold expired frozen meat. It was not several days expired but rather several months. This is not an uncommon occurrence either since I throw out about 1 item per 2 weeks due to expiration way past sell by date. the meats were awful as well. They sold beef that was 2 days past expiration and although I did not purchase any, it was scary to think someone might've if they were not being careful. Additionally I found several yogurts way past expiration being sold. This is so common that I often throw out 2 yogurts a week since they are either expired beyond belief or have 1 day left to finish. Lastly the deli department was selling turkey that was a month past expiration and I often find packages of ham that are super puffy full of air as if it were full of bacteria. It didn't help that it smelled rancid before opening the plastic packaging. Honestly this trip was the last straw and unless I am super busy I would rather go to a different Kroger or Meijer because this is ridiculous and I don't think customers should have to be meticulous about checking expiration dates or be sold products that are months past expiration. This Kroger is not a safe place for consumers!! TLDR; Kroger sells things months past expiration all the time! read more

Over the years I've had issues with this particular store including them selling expired items (which is still happening to this day) and rude employees one of which actually pushed me out of the way so he could stock a shelf I was in front of and then proceeded to laugh when I said excuse me. But more recently I have had to deal with the replacement night staff that watches the U-Scans. I work 2nd shift so I head in late some nights and this past Saturday I went in and was checking out at 12:55. I had 2 items that didn't scan at the sale price so when I called for the attendant I was greeted with an extremely rude "well I'll give it to you one this time but I don't have the time to go look at the tags because we're closed". Odd since they close at 1:00 but apparently 12:55 is closed as well. Also she only gave me one item than scanned wrong and told me she couldn't do anything about the 2nd item unless I came back the next day. This wasn't the first time I had an issue with this particular employee's rudeness but I'm officially done with this store and Kroger overall I think. read more

This may be the most disgusting Kroger in the city. Until the last year, this Kroger catered to Arlingtonites and had a better produce section and was more "quaint" than the Bethel Kroger, a few blocks away. That has all changed. The Bethel Kroger has been updated with a better produce as well as organic section. The Henderson Kroger is trashy at best. On my last several visits (I always give several tries), I have had to carefully check expiration dates. ai even had some cottage cheese that had expired three weeks earlier. The fomer helpful employees are gone, either replace by trashy and rude customer service or high schoolers that park themselves in produce in a group and care less if customers can not get past. The shelves are no longer kept stocked and the place is just plain dirty..... I'm done here. Bethel Kroger, Giant Eagle and Marc's can have my business.
