Their produce & meat dept is the worse! A lot of bad stuff being sold there. Bad, over-ripened fruit; brown salad bags;dark grey colored ground beef that I saw on sale for, $12.99 in the back where the meat is on display. Those two Dept's need to be cleaned up. Galveston location seems to take more pride in their store than, TC. It's like we are living in the poorest, most ghetto looking town in Texas. Ah yes the Texas City, TX Kroger. Any Kroger is good. My fav one is a 30 minute drive away from this one down on an island. But this one is a decent one. I can't put a finger on anything specific I like about this location. But it's a good store. It doesn't have as extensive of a selection on things as say Galveston or League City Kroger stores. But even so, Kroger never fails. read more

Never, ever communicated with me after I endured a head wound in the Galveston store, because of flaws in shelf displays in the area that f packaged dry pasta. LIABILITY. They'd rather a disabled woman veteran as n languish, th as m check to see if there was a single thing their store ir corporation could do to assist. At the very least, 90 minutes after I was injured, I was supposed to have an appointment with a physician at the Texas City veterans clinic. The taxpayers paid for that wasted appointment, since there wasn't enough turnaround time to c as McElroy it and explain that it was because of a head injury caused by a defective food display in the Galveston Kroger. This is my second attempt at corresponding with you in regards to the draconian conditions at the Texas City Kroger store. To refresh your memory - I was a part-time employee in the bakery department. I started working for Kroger in December 2023 and voluntarily terminated my employment on June 10, 2024. I never had any issues with being written up (it is odd that Kroger resorts to this practice before any verbal counseling or redirection but that is just one of many poor management practices at Kroger) until I gave notice that I was leaving. I gave a month's notice in order to be available to cover for other bakery employee vacations, and since giving notice I have been written up twice in one week. One write up was for not following "tortilla standards" (which no one is aware of) which I was totally unaware and the other one was for not filling tables correctly - something else I was never trained on. It is absolutely unbelievable that Kroger employees - your most valuable asset, by the way - are treated with blatant disrespect and at times downright meanness by so called managers. It is safe to assume that this occurs because they (store management) suffer no consequences for treating people so poorly as upper management/corporate types apparently condone these practices. It is not unusual to see employees in tears at work due to excessive browbeating by managers (who are for the most part uneducated - high school graduates at best - and have had no training in good management practices) who refuse to address them with even a modicum of respect as well as refusing to adequately staff the store in order to preserve profits and management bonuses. Their behavior is reminiscent of the tyrants who ran the sweatshops in the early part of the last century. It is very odd that in 2024 any corporation, especially one like Kroger, would choose to model themselves after such a not only much maligned but also failed system of management. I am hopeful but not too optimistic that raising awareness of these deplorable management practices will effect positive change for those still unfortunate enough to be employed at Kroger. I am fortunate in that I did not have to work but I will never forget the horrible plight of those left behind to suffer at the hands of the most incompetent, mean spirited people I have run into in many, many years. You all may want to heed some of Sir Richard Branson statements - "Train People well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to". "Take care of your employees and they will take care of your business. It's that simple". "Loyal employees are assets - NOT LIABILITIES. Of course, Kroger's mentality and priority - corporate greed. It's a nice store and has pretty much everything what you need for basics. Clean and stocked, alive environment. I don't get such a low ranking of this location but I would definitely recommend it. Compare to H-E-B parking lot theirs is very spacious. I hope they took care of "that roach" and insects issues in general after that review has been posted. read more

This pharmacy is so bad I got home and checked online to make sure they gave me the right medication. 1. Turned in RX at about 3 pm. They said they (3), would be ready about 4pm the next day. 2. Went to pick up at 4:30 the next day and they didnt have them ready. 3. Came back to pick up (3rd trip), and they wanted to charge me $1000 for a medication I've been taking for 25 years and never paid more than $30. (of course I didnt get that one 4. Next day went back to pick up the RX to have filled somewhere else. (4th trip) I've been filling my RX's at medicine man but they are closed now. I moved here from Galveston and never had trouble with that Kroger pharmacy. I guess I'll go back to Galveston I have to question a pharmacy that is so unprofessional and just didnt seem to care. BEWARE! Check your medications. I really didnt even want to give them 1 star. read more

ordered groceries on the Kroger website for delivery. when the groceries never came I called the Texas City Kroger (delivery store). A very rude employee said it's not their problem. she said it's on the website that orders go through instacart. I called instacart and they said they had no record of any order and that since it was placed on the Kroger website and my card was charged through Kroger that I needed to talk to Kroger. I called Kroger again and had an even ruder employee yelling at me that it's not their problem and she was sick of telling people. She connected me to the manager that turns out to be the first rude person I talked to. she said I'd have to call the corporate offices, that are closed. so at this point Kroger has stolen $120 by charging my card and not delivering any groceries. read more

So I have multiple issues with this location. For one about a month ago I was in the bakery and about to grab a donut from the glass case, I grabbed the tongs and was about to put one in the bag when I happened to notice something moving, I looked down and sure enough it was a roach that was still half alive. Eww! The other issue I have is that the store is supposed to be 24 hours and they seem to just randomly close. I normally get off work late so I stop on my way home. The first time they had a sign on the door that they had to close early for maintenance, which I completely understood, but it has happened about 4-5 times now within a 1-2 month period. Today when I stopped I pulled up to the front and sat there for a second and I could see an employee right by the door looking at me, well when I finally got out of the car and walked up to the door then they motion to me that the store was closed.........not quite sure why you couldn't have told me that before I got all my stuff out of the car, turned the car off, and walked up there. Then as I was walking back to the car I see another car pull up and the person gets out of the car, I said hey the store is closed, and the person said "oh it's ok, I work here" so then I ask them why does the store keep randomly closing? And they say "oh probably a cashier called in"...........if that's the case that's ridiculous, I saw multiple employees just hanging out and standing around by the door. read more

This isn't a bad store at all. I went in there the other day, being I was in the area, and wanted something. I walked in and albeit it was around 11:00 AM, I was greeted by assumedly an asst. Manager, Manager, produce person, and other individual as they were greeting everyone good morning. That's a nice touch, I thought, as I made my way around, happy to find what I wanted. Folks you have to consider this is an older Krogers and if in future its disparaged for being disheveled, or chaotic, keep in mind its at the center of a main drag, business center, and industrial area, That's quite different than the east or west LC Parkway ones. Also, its head and shoulders above the Galveston one -short of help, poorly stocked, and disheveled(and I mean before their recent renovations). read more

I was in here on Friday and had a bad experience. I found a few items that were on sale that I had coupons for so i purchased them with no problem like numerous times before (at this location and others). I drove home 12 miles to get these other coupons that I knew I had to purchase lipsticks from the sale bins. When I returned to purchase the lipstick the cashier rang them up and i handed over my coupons. The coupons would not go through cause the label on the lipstick was ringing up for an eyelash curler (all 3 of them). So the manager comes over and says they do not accept coupons for items on sale! I just purchase something 20 min prior with a coupon from the sale bin! If the items where labeled correctly I would have had no problem!! The manager was rude. I asked if he could show me the corporate policy saying so? He told me he did not need to show me anything. WHAT I SAY GOES! very rude for a manager to say to a paying customer. couponing is a hobby of mine and to be treated like a common criminal when you walk in with a binder full of coupons pisses me off!! I have written in my complaint to corporate. These managers should all follow corporate policy not choose to when the feel like it. read more
