After my bitter experience at Honda up the street, I had the worst experience at this H-E-B. I thought the Houston Chinatown store was worst, this one in Clear Lake was the worst's worst. It made me think are all stores in Clear Lake are all bad. Because just 2 establishments right next to each other were bad. It was a small shopping trip. I found some good deals with in-store coupons. I scanned 2 coupons and it had a validation problem. The self check out attendant was able to clear it. But I can't scan the 3rd coupon because I forgot to ring it up. So, he came over and did something. After I completed the transaction and found no coupons were used. I asked him what happened to the coupons. He said they were already applied. I didn't have time to argue with him. After I got home, I checked my photos. Bull fuvking shit!!' Such a liar. I could have saved $3.50 with coupons. I'm not going to drive 50 miles to talk to someone in Clear Lake H-E-B for adjustment. I'm not going back to shop in Clear Lake anymore. After these 2 incidents, I'll skip to the next town or just do my shopping in Houston. I'm so angry. I still have to get to an H-E-B store get these figured out. read more

For 35 years, we were occasional shoppers at HEB, but preferred shopping at their competitor simply because they were closer to home; and that is four different homes in those said years. But, one day, that chain of stores (based in Cincinnati and has a K in their logo) really ticked me off, bad! Really bad! So, after 35 years of loyalty, we dumped them. BOOM! Just so I'm clear, we no longer buy groceries, we moved our prescriptions, and no longer buy their gas. WE SWITCHED!!! (insert soft, calming music) The Bay Colony HEB location is the closest location to us. As we have started shopping at HEB and discovering their layout, employees, occasional samples, fresh fill-your-own-bag of nuts, meat department, and amongst other things great music being piped through the speakers, we wondered why it took us so long to convert. I mean, it's not the #1 grocery store chain in Texas for no reason! So, cheers to all of you who recognized HEB for many years before us. I apologize that it took us so long to get here but thank you for accepting us into the fold (calming music abruptly stops). Now, move your basket!! I'm coming thru!! Disgusting, rude service from the girl with the glasses working 9-10 at night near the self checkout on Thursday night. I had trouble with my card working on a machine. I politely say, "Excuse me miss, my card isn't working." She rolled her eyes giving me a really rude, annoyed look as she came over. I say my chip doesn't work, then tries to scan it the second I say this. I say it again... Then she has the nerve to sarcastically tell me "The chip is right there..." I know what my credit card looks like. I never said it didn't have a chip. I said the chip doesn't work. Deplorable service experience on my first ever visit to this location. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with my neighborhood HEB. First, I love their floral department- I always find great deals on flowers and plants and they are beautifully arranged. Seafood counter guys are always friendly and helpful. I also love their tortillas, produce and bakery (mmm almond croissants and cannolis!) Now for the uglies- I hate, hate shopping there in person! Like one reviewer below said, the solicitors in the front are a hassle and relentless! The crew that handles curbside orders are a hassle as well- their big carts block the aisles making it hard to maneuver your own buggy when shopping and speaking of the curbside crew, they're great at time but sometimes they pick expired items or crappy produce. Customer service is great though, especially the curbside customer service phone line. They are quick to resolve any issues you may have with your curbside order :) read more

We were counting on HEB curbside Bay colony, I ordered everything else we were needing for our thanksgiving meal but they removed both of the green bean casseroles I ordered and other items, so needless to say we were short since we had 20 guests and the green bean casserole is my favorite outta everything and this is the first year I missed it and they called saying that the order was going to be ready earlier than I expected so my husband almost didn't make it in time. There are two H‑E‑Bs nearby, and this one is definitely superior to the other one. Their produce section is solid, and they have pre-made meals along with fresh sushi. They also have a good selection of wines - if you get 6 wines, you get 10% off. Their tamales are decent for the price, but if you have your own tamale source, this might not be for you. They don't have bean and cheese tamales. They do have good fresh tortillas. This is a busy and popular store due to its location, but service is good and lines are never too long. read more

When you choose to send your prescription(s) to this pharmacy, you are choosing to receive subpar customer service. If you aren't waiting in line for an extended period of time, you're having to deal with rude employees. From the tone of their voices to the way they answer the window or drive up lanes, they don't make you feel welcomed or valued as a customer. I've spoken with the pharmacy manager twice regarding their level of customer service and based on the results I'm seeing today, nothing has changed or been done about it. I will be moving my prescriptions across the street to either Walgreens, Walmart, Target, or Kroger, but I refuse to give my business to a pharmacy that doesn't respect its customers. read more

Because I want to tell the Yelp universe about a certain popular Hawaiian/Japanese dish I was surprised to find here. Poke bowls now join H-E-B's Sushiya lineup. I rarely make impulse purchases, but I couldn't resist buying a salmon bowl. It was worth the $11 or so price tag because the meal had freshness all over it. Aside from being tasty, it was filling as well. I'll go out on the limb and state that H-E-B's poke is just as good as the restaurant kind. H‑E‑B is my go-to grocer and 80% of the time it's delivery. So although I've had a couple of mishaps with that, this review has nothing to do with it since that is a 3rd party. As a tip if you want sushi delivered, they make it daily so it will not be available until after 10am. I wanted spicy tuna & didn't see it so I ordered the crawfish roll. It smelled & tasted fishy. Once I removed the crawfish, I really enjoyed it. It's a thumbs up for me but I'll prob not do the crawfish again. read more

I was going to post this review, but I'm getting aHEB of myself. I need to write it first. Amiwrite? Fairly typical but somewhat shiny and new HEB way down in League City. If you're down here there's only one thing you need to be doing, which is to go to Cha Boba and get some of their amazing drinks. Such as the Okinawa and the various amazing fruit drinks like Honey Lemon. As for the store - well it has a few issues such as the orange juice we bought here went bad after less than a day. But maybe that's what happens when you buy fresh Stuff. Prices are a little on the high side in general but they have good products, and pretty good produce, and I appreciate that. And your money stays in Texas even if this is a big chain now. Don't you love when big chains advertise themselves as little and local. Not that local! read more

Stiffed the delivery driver on his tip I love the store but recently i ordered delivery and when i received my email receipt the tip was zero. HEB states on their web site that there is a minimum tip of $5 or 5% of the purchase, whichever is greater. This guy got ZERO I emailed customer support and they said the tip couldn't be changed. I spoke with one of the managers who said it was a Favor driver and its their fault. I pointed out that HEB charged me for the tip, not Favor. I tried a second call to another manager who didnt even know about the minimum tip policy. There is nothing at checkout that indicates what delivery service youll get. I think these people dont care at all about the delivery drivers In these tough times they seem like they couldn't care less that the guy didnt even get the stated minimum tip, let alone the 20% tip I wanted him to have. I tried Favor which gave me a number to call. The number didnt accept phone calls. I emailed Favor and got a reply that the area where this happened isn't in their region. I can't do business with companies who treat worlers with such callousness and incompetence no matter how good their food is. read more

Awesome store with a huge selection of organic and conventional food, toiletries and a pharmacy. I was able to get most of the items I am used to getting in CA such a as kefir, mochiko flour, rice noodles and kombucha to name a few! Great place if you don't have a Sprouts or Whole Foods near by. I've shopped at this location for a long time and am disgusted with the ground beef i purchased there yesterday. Spent over 19.00 for roughly 4 lbs of 93% lean ground that had fresh red put around the outside of really dark meat on the inside. Ok never Ben to a H-E-B but now I wish they had them in Florida. This place had everything you could want in a grocery store. Large selection of anything from fresh salts to seafood. The pork potsticker were really good for being store bought. The parking was fine, but the price can't be beat I got food for two days and drinks and snacks and I stayed under $40. read more

Since moving to League city this has been my favorite grocery store and I visit it often spending a good amount of money here every week. The store is clean and I am usually able to get in and out quickly. The produce and meat are top quality along with a fantastic grocery selection. Though a new trend here has started that has gotten me to quit going to this store. There is someone trying to sell me something at the door every time I go here. I'm not talking about girlscouts or boyscouts fundraising, I'm talking some business wanting me to sign up for something. When I go to the grocery store I want to shop for my food not be harassed about signing up for something. The store manager here should think twice about letting these businesses set up in the doorway and bother every customer coming in and out of the place. Last time I walked in with a stranger and we both said something to each other about how rude and inconvenient it is to have to tell someone no I don't want to sign up for something. Then on the way out I have to go through this again. I give this H-E-B 1 star because I am forced through this every time I go there and now will not be returning to the store. read more

I'm not one to ever make anything about race because I, for the most part, feel that card has been so over played by now. But today I seriously have never felt so discriminated against by another human being. I stop by this HEB to pick up some groceries for the week. After I'm done shopping,I walk up to the front to pay. There are only 3 lanes open and so I walk up to the 15 item express lane since I probably have 20 items or so. Anyhow, as I'm walking into the lane, the cashier looks at me and my cart and says, "I'm sorry but this is a 15 item only lane..." I look down at my cart and it was obvious that I didn't have too many items. I even had one of the small carts for heavens sake... and I'm like really... she then tells me, "if your willing to bag items, I'll take you..." And I just walk away before I say something. Well as I'm standing in the lane right next to hers, a man, of another race wearing a nice polo shirt, with a cart about the same size as mines walks up and she looks at him and just say, "hi... how are you doing?" And just starts checking out his items like nothing. Didn't ask him to bag any items or anything. I seriously wanted to say something right then and there but I was held back from saying something. Honestly, I don't know if it was that I was wearing a baseball cap and a hoodie or the color of my skin... but it was just one of those moments that you want to make a scene but because of the world we live in today... I'd just be the loud Hispanic guy making a scene for nothing. So I bit my tongue, waited in line, paid for my groceries, and went on about my merry way... But you keep it classy HEB... you've got some great employees. I'm one that always says, don't let one bad apple ruin it for everybody else. I think if there ever came a time where I would have to move out of the state of Texas, I would TRULY miss having an HEB as one of my local grocery stores. No other store supplies my household and grocery needs as good as HEB can. The prices are competitive, the inventory and selections are plentiful, and they have great wine selections. Their wine is even cheaper than a place that claims to have "rollback" and guaranteed "low prices". Another thing I love is that they have some great store coupons. I've gotten plenty of free items and/or barely paid for things just from store coupons. Much better than clipping tons of coupons. I don't have that kind of time. Finally, Dickinson has bigger and better grocery selections than Ziggler's (is that place still around?) and the ol' Food King (definitely gone). I never mind it when requested to stop by this HEB by family members needing me to pick up beer, ice, grub etc on the way to Grandma's house. Since this is a new location, it's laid out pretty well and is clean - but busy. Unlike other HEB's I've seen, they have smaller shops within: jewelry, photographer ... kinda like what Wal-Mart has. The fact that this store is only 3 miles from my home is it's saving grace. Because honestly, WTH is going on at this store lately?? They rarely have any HEB Spring Water or Ozarka Spring Water in the 2.5 gallon size. They haven't had my cage-free all white egg whites in about 3 weeks (although, to be fair, I think there's a national shortage, but whatever). They have stopped carrying ALL organic string cheese. Old El Paso Stand 'n Stuff taco shells ... nope, they don't have those on hand either. Frozen organic strawberries disappeared from the store about 8 months ago and never returned. Who is doing the ordering here?? They have fallen down on the job. Kudos to the health food section manager ... this guy/gal knows what he/she is doing because they typically have my peanut butter Oh Yeah! bars on hand and hubby's Jay Robb Peanut Butter bars (probably because they are horrible and hubby is the only one who eats them). LOL!! I usually bag my own groceries because if I let the kids bag them, stuff is smashed by the time I get home. Does anyone train these kids on proper bagging anymore like they did when I was in high school?? By the way, why do they lock the southern-most doors at 8 p.m.? WOW, I LOVE THIS H-E-B. Coming from Kansas I was new to the H-E-B chain and didn't know what to expect. It is awesome! The guys who make the in-store sushi are so fun and very accommodating making special orders asap. The produce is the best quality I have ever seen in a store setting. It's almost like a good farmers market. Nothing rotten or not quite ripe. Huge organic section at a reasonable price. Plus their coupons they are everywhere even in house goods and cosmetics. It's very strange because all the employees I come into contact with are great and for some reason every so often I get a rude bagger. Never a cashier, associate, stocker, or cart pusher only the baggers. I tried the Gulf Gate H-E-B and it was gross, gross, gross compared to the Bay Colony H-E-B. It stunk bad was so dirty and cluttered I couldn't get around. I left without buying anything. read more

Normally I really like HEB so that's why I'm giving this three stars. The cashier named Dom decided to nitpick every coupon while I was in the express lane, so any attempt to disagree with him was squashed by the line of people behind me. The coupons were valid and applied to every item that I picked them out for as I am scrupulous about making sure that the items I choose match the savings. I felt extremely frustrated that he didn't take the time to help me save as isn't that the point of the coupons? He just glared at me like I was a nuisance and barely helped me bag my groceries. On a positive note, everyone else there was extremely helpful! I always attribute HEB with a great selection and very customer oriented employees that care. .Let's begin with I walked in the store was having a beautiful experience just walking the aisles and getting the things that I needed then I noticed as I was coming to the front area to actually go to the produce section and then come back and you know to pay and walked past the gathering if you will one of the store managers and or it could be assistant manager not sure but his name was Dylan red-headed Ginger adult male middle 30s he had a look on his face look like he ate two bad cans of tuna and had the business end of a cattle prod zapping him sour so I walked up to him and I said hey this dip is really good cuz I purchased some in-store dip with a coupon I said it's really delicious not a smile not a nod of acknowledgement like as if I were speaking to air nothing so I just left it alone and walked over to the where you pay at the counter and I met up with two young gentlemen in the early twenties Hispanic males one named Pancho and the other one named reynaldo neither one of them was smiling not at all inviting just sour and I started to feel my own energy just not right they were both what I considered to be rude for customer service as well as the manager himself now I'm immediately thinking maybe this store has a problem with patriarch BS because all the women were smiling and inviting and and just as nice as could be needless to say I'll never shop at this son of a biscuit HEB again I don't go where people are rude and they're one and only job in life while they are working here is good customer service that's it I'm a good person I'm a nice person I'm civil but when they're ugly I'm going to match their energy so there you go my review on HEB and I'm supposing it is Webster League City right off of Gulf freeway. So I rethought the situation. I will continue to walk the store just buy a dollar item and keep engaging them until they break character of rude ass hats.
