Oh, wow! Finally a mega-Kroger at Hilton Head where we don't have to wait through long lines on a Saturday evening check-in day and which has all the things we need to get our week started. We decided to get some hot food from the deli so we didn't have to wait hours for pizza delivery, and what a good choice that was! We got fried chicken, chicken wings, corn, turnip greens, tomatoes and okra, macaroni and cheese, apple cinnamon cookies, Woodbridge Chardonnay, and Curious Traveler grapefruit shandy, checked into the condo and had a feast! Whoa, what a nice grocery store!!! You can order your deli meat/cheese in the lobby area and pick it up when ready. Starbucks inside is great! huge store with loads of options. The natural section is large with good selection. The beer/wine area is fantastic. Prices were good. Will be back! read more

Went to check out with 4 items and grab a coffee at Starbucks. One of the 4 young ladies behind the counter, sortof asked me what I wanted, but it was difficult to tell because she did not look up from her phone, just kept doing whatever it was. They didn't have the drink I wanted - no apology or anything - so I ordered something different. At this point I had unpacked my basket and had my items on the counter. 'We don't have bags' she says, still not looking up. Okay fine! I walked out, totally disgusted. Employees should not have access to their phones while at work! And if you are at work, why don't you just do your job? Obviously there is a major lack of attention from the top down. This place sucks. Don't shop here. read more

The absolute best store! I spent an hour doing my entire shopping for the month. Between the coupons and digital coupons and the 5% senior discount I saved $76.94. Trunk full, spent only $106. I just had a terrible experience at this store. We are from out of town visiting. I was shopping with my 2 young kids (2 and 6 months). My eggs got dropped as I was taking them out of the cart. I asked the cashier if there was anyone who could go grab me another one. She said "no, you can ask him (pointing to the guy bagging my stuff), but we don't have anybody to do that". Then the guy bagging my stuff put a heavy bag right on top of all my bread. I said to him "there's bread in that, could you please not squish it". He didn't even say anything to me. He just moved the bag. I've never been more dissatisfied with a grocery store experience. Pay more and use the local publix. Much nicer employees! read more

I went into Kroger and it was the usual - people were lovely, the workers were kind, and the selection was wonderful. What stood out this time was that I saw a beautiful man by the name of Shayne standing behind the new bar they've installed, and I just wanted him to know he's an incredibly gorgeous human being. 10/10 recommend this Kroger. read more

Would give zero stars if possible With 3 large purchases over the last 3 mths service at checkout has been dismal. Bagged my own groceries twice bc staff was too slow and inefficient or just plain not present. At 11:19 a cashier wouldn't take care of me said she was closing tho she checked out 2 more people after me. Will not shop there again. read more

This Kroger is amazing. Prices are great, there's Starbucks, sushi (fresh and a variety), and a gas station (get a Kroger card to save on gas.. Today using fuel points we paid $1.55/gallon). Though the store was busy, there were plenty of people working and they have 12 self checkout lines (in addition to traditional lines) that keep things moving. The store also had huge displays with bargain prices beach supplies at the entrances. read more

Stopped in for a quick purchase and checked out in the self checkout area this evening. The little guy working that area needs an attitude adjustment...so incredibly rude to me and 2 others I witnessed while in line. Everything we purchased was fresh. The store is very clean and easy to shop in. The staff was very helpful. Its worth the little extra drive.one thing we didnt do was to order our deli items then shop. We ended up not ordering anything because our wait would have been about an hour. read more

The store overall is a nice and organized store. Although the service at the deli is very slow and is very frustrating. The lunch meat part of the deli takes forever and it seems like you are always waiting. The sandwich part of the deli has workers that are slow but make a good sandwich read more

Probably one of the worst 'high end' grocery stores I've ever been in. We went through the self checkout and the girl that was in charge of it was as rude as could be. We had a hold up on the register and we literally had to flag her down to come override the stop. She came over, didn't say a word, and fixed the register. She was too concerned with the conversation she was having on her cell phone to provide any sort of customer service. So then we get home. Bought 2 pounds of shrimp from the sea food counter. Start peeling them and notice a strange smell. The shrimp smelled like straight ammonia. My Dad called the store to let them know. He spoke to a guy at the sea food counter and then to a manager and no one seemed to care that they are selling rancid shrimp to people. Whatever. I will gladly go out of my way to shop at Harris Teeter from now on. They value customer satisfaction. read more

DO NOT USE CLICKLIST at this location!!!! In anticipation of our vacation, I stayed up until 12:00 am to be sure to secure a clicklist spot for the Saturday of our arrival. The order took several hours to complete and was for all three of the families joining us on our trip. It was a $600 order. I was so happy to secure our spot and finish the grocery list for everyone. On the day of our pickup, we received a call from Kroger asking if we could come 2 hours later to pick up our order because they were running behind. We agreed and completely understand when things get busy. However, they called back an hour before we were supposed to pick up our order and informed me they had canceled our order. They were backed up and understaffed and canceled just like that. No offer to pick it up later or on another day. I was not even able to access the grocery list through my Kroger account. There was nothing to be done and I had to call every family back and completely start from scratch. It was a devastating way to start our trip and the manager made no concessions or offer to remedy the situation. We would have been more than happy to pick it up on another day or later that evening but they completely canceled with hardly even an apology. Please, please do not use the grocery pickup!!! Crappy service and bad moods all around. 1/10. All of the check-out attendees had bad moods and a sassy attitude. Scanned our $1 grapes and made them $10 dollars and then refused to change them. Had to go to customer service and they had the rudest women working at the counter. She refused to help us until the reamed the lady who checked us out about getting the check-out wrong. Great fruits and well-organized grocery store. Don't get the sushi. We purchased and the rice in the rolls was hard, as well as the tempura flakes were soggy: which means the sushi was not freshly made that dat. We were disappointed. read more

MY daughter just got back from Kroger where she went with my granddaughter shopping for food. Rude employees, out of stock and several misdirections later she is home but highly frustrated with the experience. Weekend shopping at Hilton Head can be a challenge but in the middle of the week, we expect better. Our family stopped being "Kroger Shoppers" a long time ago but this was a good reminder of why. read more

It was nice to see store that I was familiar with down here. I'm from northern W.V. , and I think that this Kroger however, is a good bit more expensive than ours at home. Then again, we don't have the ocean in our back yard. The store was clean and orderly. Other than inflated prices, it was an average store, and will probably go back during our stay here. read more

Can I just start off by saying all I needed to go into this store for was party supplies for my little sister's 7th birthday, an avocado, and bandaids, and ended up leaving with rage, anger, and a crying 6-year-old. As I headed through the many many aisles I still couldn't find the party supply section so I decided to ask a worker. He proceeded to head in the opposite direction and even himself couldn't find his way around. Once we found the party supplies I was underwhelmed at the lack of materials, they didn't even have balloons or streamers. I headed over to the flower and "fancy" balloon section quickly picked out overpriced baloons and relized there wasnt even anyone at the booth willing to help me, so i walked over the customer service to ask for help, they called someone twice and 10MINS LATER a man FINALLY showed up. And even then he took forever to explain the prices and eventually told me they had run out of helium. He was generous and gave me a 5$ gift card which I tried to use at check out... the worker checking me out messed up the check out first of all and second, the gift card didn't even work and I had to wait for MORE for someone to walk all the way over and try to fix it and even then I couldn't use it. I insisted that they just forget about it and i would just pay with my card but she basically held me, hostage, until her manager showed up. I nearly missed my ride back home and left with melted skinny cow ice cream. Overall, -1000/10 experience I will never go back. Fuck Kroger, I should be getting 1000 in cash instead of a 5$ gift card. read more

Horrible service!!!!! While waiting to self check out, I walked up to a register that wasn't open. I didn't notice. The cashier that was working the line said, "that lines not open". I waited my turn for the next available register. When we were checking out the register required a cashiers assistance. When she came over to me, she asked me, "what's the problem?" I explained that my teenage daughter was assisting me and placed something on the bagging scale and moved another bag at the same time and the register locked up. The cashier said, "you need to calm down." My daughter looked at me & we both kind of giggled because we thought she was talking to the register. I then said, I know these things always go off on me. She then looked at me and said, "no, you need to calm down." My daughter and I were both completely confused. So, I asked her, excuse me? So, she thought it was necessary to say again that I needed to calm down....again! I have absolutely no idea what she was referring to. I was attempting to have a relaxing, fun weekend with my daughter and to be treated like I was a child? A poorly behaved child no less? Needless to say, I'm not too happy about it. Her statement and behavior was completely unacceptable & not at all what I am use to experiencing at my home Kroger. read more

Wow! This is a very nice and clean store, with very reasonable prices. The employees are also very kind and willing to help with their southern charm. If you need a quick bite to eat go to the hot food deli the chicken and BBQ is very good for a store, you also get two massive sides for just 5 bucks. read more

Terrible first and last experience. Way too big to navigate no help in site. Horrible customer service and they sold me 4 containers of ice cream that was freezer burned and bad plus over 3 months past expiration date.When I called and shared with management how disappointing both the experience and outdated products were the actually passed the buck onto the ice cream vendor as if it's not thier responsibility to police their own vendors and manage thier store. We come to Hilton Head every year and I was so happy to see that Kroger was coming to the area. However; both times we came here we received terrible service. One visit, I went to check out and a lady was walking away as I was approaching and when she saw me she just rolled her eyes and returned to her register. She didn't say one word to me the entire check out. She didn't even say what my total was, I just swiped my card. Another visit, we asked for a tank for our grill and we had to ask 5 different people before someone went to the back to get it. It ended up being too big and the guy that got the tank said "so your not getting it or what?" We asked to see it before we purchased it but they wouldn't allow us so we had to buy it, find out it was too big, then return it. We spent 30 minutes on an item that we couldn't even purchase due to the lack of response and willingness to help. I'm not sure if it is bad management or terrible timing. We ended up doing most of our shopping at the Walmart towards the end of the week, because even though Kroger is convenient, it's not worth the terrible customer service. read more
