Today was rough. In anticipation of the holiday I was running around all day stressed out and had just about had it. You'd think that a trip to Kroger the day before July 4th would be the final straw. Fortunately for me, thanks to two fantastic Kroger employees, that simply wasn't the case. Cleisy and Blanca consistently show up day after day with an attitude and disposition that is simply infectious. They're so upbeat, caring, and always more than willing to do whatever they can to help make your day better. Truly solution oriented women providing authentic customer service. Came in for a popular item that was showing multiple available for delivery on their website and instacart. I couldn't find it so I asked an employee if they could look up an item. She insisted on saying where it should be instead of doing a simple search on the handheld device she was already in possession of. I went back per her instructions, took a video for her to see then she said oh ok well I guess I should look it up. The item was now pulling up out of stock. I asked her as well as another employee what days the trucks come. No clue. While I understand there are various departments there's a clear issue with not wanting to be helpful happening in this store. Owned by Kroger Moore, Kroger Rabbit and Kroger Federer, this is a popular grocery store way out in the west suburbs. It's way out in the middle of nowhere where Bissonnet meets Highway 6. It's a good store for certain things that other places don't have and some of the locations are open really late, but the prices are very high and much higher than Walmart - and definitely higher than HEB as well. Just bought this simple truth plant based queso dip today. Unfortunately after eating over half I glanced at the expiration date and see it's almost three months out of date. So I stop by the grocery store to pick up some peanuts and bananas for my dad at the late night snack. Found the peanuts easy enough as always, but when I went to the banana section and I was interested in grabbing the on sale organic bananas come to find out the organic bananas, and the conventional/generic bananas were the exact same, I worked at a grocery store before and even if you're out of organic bananas or conventional bananas, you shouldn't mix where you put both of them. Just saying someone not paying attention may grab what they think are organic bananas but I really D conventional bananas and be spending $.12 more like I said they were on sale but still it's like come on bro just leave the shelf empty read more

Is this the best Kroger? No. Is it better than the Kroger that we live by? Heck yeah! This Kroger has a decent selection. We appreciate the on site security each evening. I always enjoy the Buy 5 save $5 sales at Kroger and this Kroger has a good stock of applicable items. They also prepare for the exclusive Friday and Saturday sales that Kroger has. I don't always need all of the extras that a larger Kroger offers, and this Kroger is more than capable of fulfilling the role of your neighborhood grocer. read more

If possible, I would give 0 stars. They advertise steak and then don't have any; that can happen, but at least apologize and try to substitute something else. When I asked about that, a manager named Gonzo (!) was so rude. No apology, no effort to give any customer service. When I filled out my survey and requested to be contacted, never heard a word from anyone. HEB and Randall's just scored a customer. So much for trying to support a neighborhood business. read more

No one here is helpful. Came here for a money gram and the cashier tells me that they don't do it here even though just last week I did, all the signs say they do. What just happened? Seriously, what just happened? This nice, well-organized, clean and well-stocked Krogers with convenient diagonal parking (see how I get the details on spat? ;-)) is convenient for me had a tortilleria but not anymore (or maybe I had been dreaming - it's been a year since I've been here anyways). And now, in the middle of the store, I felt like I was walking into a Barnes & Nobles - not a Krogers, thanks to the pretty extensive magazine and books section that's quite unusual for a supermarket. I didn't give this run-of-the-mill grocery store 4 stars (and yes, it's very run-of-the-mill) because of the lack of tortilleria or for going bookstore-ish - but because of the first sentence in this review. The only reason I'm giving it a good score is because a bagger named Carlos. It was pouring out and he walked everyone to their car with his umbrella. Even a lady in a wheelchair. He was soaked but he was amazing. As far as the store goes I would have have zero! they don't honor their own coupons on their app. When asked to speak with a manager, she/he didn't want to come down. Went into the store to do an Instacart order and during self checkout one of the employees there kept hovering over me and watching my every move. She kept rearranging my items, watching my basket after I expressed I didn't need assistance. At one point she stood right beside me watching me scan my items, then she kept asking if I scanned this and that. I had to eventually show her my receipt so she could leave me alone after I got fed up. I was extremely uncomfortable and she made me feel like I was stealing or something. This is the closest Kroger to my house, but now I avoid this location because of my experience. Yes it's ur job to make sure people aren't stealing, but to pick on one person without any valid suspicion is wrong and that's how y'all lose customers. Y'all need better customer service. read more

The selection and cleanliness of this Kroger's was great my only problem was I believe his name was Michael in self checkout. Was not very pleased with his service, instead of just helping me at the checkout by quickly putting in his credentials it could have been better but instead I was told everything I did wrong. This Kroger did not carry any bird grit. It does have mealworms, though--something I found ironic since mealworms are a treat while grit is a necessity. HEB had bird grit (non-colored, from granite, and loaded with vitamins and minerals). HEB has a better selection of bird food. From now on, I'm going to drive further out of my way to either the Sugar Land or Bellaire/Hwy 6 HEBs for last-minute items. I liked that this Kroger was organized inside and not crowded. I also liked that its healthcare products were located on the right side of the store close to the entrance so that sick or mobility-impaired customers wouldn't suffer too much getting health-oriented supplies. read more

It's definitely ghetto if you're used to whole foods quality, but if you live in the area it gets the job done. No complaints ~ its not fancy. Don't come expecting cream of the crop produce and gourmet deli and bakery. Just keep your expectations basic and you'll be a-okay. There is a gas station. read more

Whoa... why is the first thing I see when I walk into Kroger a cop? I wasn't sure if I should feel safe that he was there or worried that Kroger felt they needed his presence. The store had lots of unique manager specials and overall I was happy with it... it was almost a 4 star Kroger, but... I had to wait in line forever! I know it was around 11pm on a weeknight, but with 4 self scans open, and people with carts full of stuff... why not open an express only line? FAIL! I am a fan of Kroger, but not this dingy location. Carts wander around the parking lot like lost children. I have literally never seen a single cart getting collected by one of the many teenage employees that couldn't look less interested in their jobs. No employee has ever greeted me or spoken to me in the store other than the fine gentlemen of the meat and seafood department. They are the good ol' boys you expect to see at the market, with fun stories and great suggestions. They earn this location the extra star, and should all get promoted to corporate trainers. The cashiers range from mute robots to the extremely bored...if you are fortunate to catch an open lane and not just the Self-Checkout machinery. What is the point of having weighted bagging areas and ID checks if the staff just push the accept button all the time everytime? I actually did put an item in my bag before scanning, and the employee just hit the accept button to allow me to continue without bothering to even look over. They have one excellent cashier. Went today to store at Hwy 6 and Bissonnet in Houston. After spending 1.75 hours and $142 I was leaving the store. Trying to get cart over the threshold and then heard a weird noise and my cart completely locked up. Thought the wheels were stuck or something. Leaned in the door and a nearby cashier said someone would come with a key. She knew exactly what was going on. So now I am wondering what the heck is wrong. A young man came and I asked him what was going on. Said he didn't know which was a lie because it is his job to unlock carts. I got back to my car and called the store. Lady in customer service said something about locking carts when they think someone is stealing. I said I just paid for mine. My stuff is all bagged up. Why did you choose me. She mumbled something about where the cart hits the door space or some baloney. Or the system screws up and sorry. I called the customer service number on Kroger's website and made a HUGE complaint and I expect an explanation. I have never been treated that way in a store ever. I am furious and never going there again. I should have turned around and returned every sorry item. read more

ahh krogers, you and i go back. back when this krogers use to be open late, it was a nice clean location, welcoming customers into a good store. ever since the different parking lot robberies and car jackings (yikes! be careful when you go at night!!) they close a bit earlier now, and well. its not the same. the place seems kind of run down, there is a sushi bar and the usual stuff is there. however the staff in the bakery/deli area can be rude (i asked where i can find pate for my crackers because they are usually placed next to each other but now its not anymore, and the lady tells me "well how should i know?" .... well ma'am you work here, and you work in this deli area. so you should know, you buffoon!) anyways, i digress, this place just lost stars for rudeness and cleanliness. my mom (who already has a bad back) actually slipped because of random clear liquids on the floor that wasnt visible until you stand in a certain way for the lighting to show it. she slipped twice and luckily caught onto the railings of the frozen things so she didnt fall all the way (lucky for krogers! thats a lawsuit waiting to happen!) so, be weary of the parking lot, be warned about the rude staff, and always be careful walking about because there is random slipper shit on the floor that you cant see that will cause you to slip. read more

This isn't for the overall Kroger itself because the overall Kroger is actually really good. They have great customer service and the layout of the store is well organized and really good. This is for the employee named "topher." Me and my mom shop here at least once every week and every week it's smooth, we have great service, a good checkout, but today our bagger "topher." Was absolutely disgusting. His attitude, his behavior, was just plain RUDE. He disrespected my mom and when we had a question.. a simple question he returned it with sass and attitude. Customer service desk is never adequately staff. (The line could wrapped around the store and there's one person working the desk and no management in sight) You're forced to use the self-checkout, because there are not enough cashier lines open, usually only two. They have great buys, but it so frustrating to go this store. Not to mention uncollected shopping carts littering parking lot. This store does need better management. read more
