Three words... Krazy Coupon Lady! As I was aimlessly scrolling one night on Facebook I came across a post of a glitch going on at Kroger using coupons from the KCL app which allowed customers to essentially get many items for free. I did not believe it at first, but I tried it myself and I actually scored over $70 worth of food for zero dollars. I didn't have any problems at all from the workers so it seemed to have been something that was known and yet allowed. I do appreciate the workers for not rejecting the food, especially because in this economy anything helps. The layout was perfectly clear and I followed the app as it that told me where to find the items around the store. There were a few aisles that were recently changed so it did throw me off for a second and I do hope that management gets that fixed on their end. Overall, I did notice that Kroger has quite a bit of sales and discounts all the time so I would highly recommend checking out their Kroger app to clip coupons and save money. My photos are of their sushi selection, which go for $6 on Wednesdays. Otherwise, though, this is a pretty good Kroger. Parking is easy and plentiful. They generally have the normal sales on stock even on a busy Saturday afternoon and restock quickly. Sometimes the app is incorrect in noting the sizes in stock (like it'll say 3.5lbs of chicken thighs are in stock but you'll only find up to 2lb packages) but those are on busy days. The produce quality is acceptable - I buy the 3lb bags of mandarins on sale and about 25% of them are bland/overripe. The staff are generally polite. Solid option, definitely check the app for deals and whether something is in stock. read more

We regularly shop at this Kroger. We especially like the Kroger Pharmacy department at this store. It is outstanding in every way. Everyone in the Pharmacy Department at this location goes above and beyond. We think the pharmacy department in this store is far superior to Walgreen or CVS pharmacies. We especially like the pharmacy manager, Nho Nguyen. He is a special person, very caring and extremely knowledgeable. He has been helping us for over ten years. We have referred quite a few people to Nho and they have all sung his praises. read more

This Kroger is my neighborhood store, and I went in recently to ask if they had any extra boxes. I was told to check in the produce department. On my way there, I saw a woman wearing a red shirt and black pants with a name tag. I asked if she worked in produce -- she shook her head no, but pointed straight ahead in the direction she was walking. She walked through the double plastic "Employees Only" doors, and I stood nearby hoping someone would come out so I could ask about boxes. After waiting about five minutes and seeing no one, I walked to the door to get someone's attention. I saw a man moving boxes on a trolley, so I waved to him. He got the attention of the same woman I had spoken to earlier. She came to the door and, with a very nasty tone, asked, "What do you want?" I was shocked by her attitude. I started to explain that I was told to check back here for boxes, but before I could finish, she cut me off and said "NO!" and tried to shut the plastic doors in my face. If they had been real doors, I believe she would've slammed them. I was stunned by how rude she was. I waited a bit longer, hoping to ask what time would be better to come back, but she ignored me. It wasn't until the man told her I was still there that she came back toward the door and told me, "You can leave now." I opened the door and asked, "Does Kroger pay you to be this mean to customers?" She didn't respond. I then asked another employee for her name. He told me her name is Ann and that she is the manager -- something I could hardly believe given how unprofessional and rude she was. The employee even agreed with me, saying, "Yes, she's mean." I went to the front and mentioned the situation to two other employees -- both gave the same reaction and weren't surprised by her behavior. It's extremely disappointing. Managers are supposed to set the example, not bring the team down. At my workplace, we have zero tolerance for customer mistreatment. I'm tired of receiving such poor service that it makes me want to avoid shopping in person altogether. This store clearly has ongoing issues, and the management is part of the problem. Kroger, you need to do better. If your store managers don't want to be there or treat customers with respect, they shouldn't be representing your brand. read more

This Kroger has been here since I was little (and probably longer than that). The issue is you can tell. They need to upgrade this store bad! Unfortunately, it's not in the best area of Memorial. The store is surrounded by not so great apartments, a Valero gas station and a small strip center. The parking lot is awful, the grocery carts are all banged up and the inside of the store is not kept up well. The refrigerator doors are all wet from condensation, there's trash on the ground. I'm not very impressed with their selection of food and products. It's seems they don't carry what my regular store carries. Prices are okay and the service is good, but they need an overhaul big time. I do appreciate that they hire individuals with special needs. With all the advertising Kroger does lately, I expected the store to be nicer. Who knows... maybe this is all due to state of our current economy. read more

This long standing Kroger has had its best days behind it and supermarket really isn't super anymore. Even in comparison with other Krogers around town, the facility itself yearns for a facelift. Stuck in the late 90's, this particular krogers shows sign of aging in all aspects of the facility. Cracks on walls, floors and doors that don't fit quite right. Shelves with rust and dents are the norm on the corners of coolers/fridges. Either way, I call this Kroger location my "home" Krogers. I love its clearance section of meats/produce/dairy/breads area and everytime I am there, I get excited to see what has been marked down. I understand this is not for alot of people but I specifically come to this particular Kroger for this. Produce its good, and you can find the majority of your daily items where they should be. Is this the greatest Kroger there is? Absolutely not, but its good enough for what you and your family needs. read more

I usually don't go to unfamiliar grocery stores for quick grabs. But I've shopped at Kroger Stores all over Houston. I know their products and store layout. It was a hot and humid summer day on a Friday afternoon. I just finished shopping at ACE Hardware store across the street. I wanted something to cool me off. So here I come. The store is fairly clean. Customers are very diverse that represent this neighborhood (unlike ACE Hardware City). Produce and seafood departments were well stocked. However, men's restroom needed some serious attention. Not only lacking toilet paper, but mold growing on the neglected air vents above the sink can be seen. This was shortly after 4 pm, I could see last service was 10 am on the cleaning activity log. We are in this CoVid19 pandemic, their sanitation staff should come through more often during business hours. If the management doesn't care about the health and safety of customers or employees, I think it's better to change the leadership. read more

I have been going to this Kroger for over 30 years. Christmas Eve my husband bought a flower arrangement for 34.99. He threw away the receipt so it would be a surprise. Today 12/27 it's completely dead! I brought it back to store and wanted an adjustment or refund. The price tag is still on it. They refused to refund anything since I didn't have the receipt. Bad customer service. Save all receipts or buy flowers somewhere else! By the way it was an ugly arrangement! read more

I live close to Kroger and have shopped there for many years. While it is a good store in many ways, I will never buy meat there again. Tonight, we began to cook a special hamburger they had displayed in a case at the front of the store made with brisket and rib meat. It sounded delicious. We opened it and it smelled very funky, like it was bad and had been seasoned to mask the decay. It reminded me of other incidents at Kroger involving beef and items they sold that were obviously spoiled. The joke is "old meat cheap" which we feel applies to Kroger meat specials. I hope that they change but our experiences span over 20 years. read more

kroger I had the most disturbing shopping experience today, 8/8/2020 at 1 p.m. As I was paying at the service counter, with my phone using Samsung pay, I was told that I'm not supposed to come back because they're (Kroger's) is not supposed to accept that kind of payment. I tried to explain that I've been a customer for 5 yrs and it was fine. She told me "not to come back" exact words.  I was not very happy but I walked away and as I passed another associate, Roxy (not sure of her name) I told her what had happened and she looked confused because she has seen my face several times a week for years. She suggested that maybe that it was a service desk policy. So as I continued on shopping I happened upon the store manager (Tom??) and told him about my experience, he looked perplexed and told me to go on about my shopping and he'd go and talk with them. After checking out using the same method I have for years and was told not to come back  by Lucy, I checked out as I have countless times as  can be proven by my loyalty number information using Samsung Pay without issue to very cordial associates. I stopped by to talk to Lucy to see if she had been made aware that other methods other than Kroger pay are accepted at her store, she denied that she had ever said anything to the effect and basically was calling me a LIAR. As we were talking  another associate came by and interjected herself, Ninny. Words were exchanged and she as well basically called me a LIAR and that I was making this all up. Another associate also put her two cents in, but I didn't catch her name. It was a horrible experience. When I got home I called the store manager  as to what was going on and he did apologize but gave me no assurances that anything but a talking to will be done. He told me that Lucy was a fantastic lady that has never done anything wrong. So basically defending her so in effect calling me a LIAR as well.  So now I have to think about the looks I will be getting in the future when and IF I go to that store.  Supposedly "Kroger is committed to providing a great customer experience"  So what happens when a customer gets called a LIAR by several associates??  Where is that commitment?   I absolutely love shopping at Kroger and it breaks my heart to think about taking my business elsewhere. I have been a loyal customer for many years and if Kroger is really committed to great customer experience, then what about customers like me? I do not deserve the treatment that I got today. An apology from Tom is simply not very "great" especially after telling me how wonderful Lucy was that had called me a LIAR. It would be "great" if he would educate his associates better as to what form of payments are accepted as his store. I told him I was filing a complaint. He did tell me that this would go directly to him, so I asked him if he was telling me not to waste my time reporting the incident. So where is the accountability for the commitment?  If this is true and nobody is held accountable for my experience today then that commitment is fraud. Lawsuits have been filed for less. I hope that Kroger does the right thing and some type of reparation is made for today for the actions of said associates. I will be making inquiries with an attorney, in the meantime I await some type of response and that something is done to make amends other than a shallow apology from the store manager read more

I always shop here and for whatever reason the pickup is neglecting to pick fresh produce and each time I get expired or rotting groceries in one section or another. Today was the last straw. Someone actually grabbed a veggie tray that was sealed up with tape on one corner with all brown vegetables inside. The people who bring out the items are fast and polite but whoever is placing your orders in the cart are clueless and disrespectful to do these type of thing. I don't have time to simply bring back the items each time I shop, nor should I have too. I was unable to speak to a supervisor or management because my calls got disconnected or they kept me waiting endlessly. Bottom line, the pharmacy is the only great thing about this location for providing proper service. read more

I'm really disappointed in something I just witnessed at this store. While I was at self checkout, a woman was waiting for the man at the self check out station to unlock the formula case while holding her baby on her hip. As I was scanning my items, she spoke to him several times and he acknowledged her, waving as if he would be with her in a minute. I also waved him over and told him she needed his help. After I finished with my items, I asked if someone else could come open it. He got close to me and whispered, "I'm the owner, I have to watch," and then finally went and got the woman her formula. When I walked out, another woman commented on the situation, and informed me she had bought several cases of milk and he was watching her, which was why he wouldn't open the case for the other woman. This was disturbing to me as both women, the woman waiting for the formula and the woman who bought the milk, were Black. This was clearly an event in which the man was operating with prejudice, bias, and racism. The man was only watching African American customers with scrutiny, none of the white customers were being watched as closely. What a disappointing thing to witness. read more

My neighborhood Kroger is sufficient for most of my grocery needs. It's not the biggest store nor does it have the widest selection to shop from, but it gets the job done. Parking is usually easy and abundant. Produce and meats are good, except I don't see prime grade beef here (so I have to go to HEB if I want steak). Their bakery and floral sections have good prices. Prices are reasonable as long as you have their Kroger card, which one day I forgot at home and they so kindly scanned a community card for me. More importantly, they have the best people working here and that's why I love it. Everyone says hi with a genuine smile. Makes for a pleasant shopping trip! read more

The manager, Tom, is overmatched in his position. I have been going here for 5 years plus.. and even a hello seems complicated to him. If you look at the other Kroger's in the area ( a longer drive for me), they are all superior in service, products carried that the other stores carry, and cleanliness. This is just an update in regards to covid safety... went to Kroger's and initially felt really good about shopping on a Saturday. Everyone including staff and customers had masks. Then I took another look and noticed three different customers without masks and there was plenty of staff and the manager on hand so while their store announces required masks they don't do anything to enforce it. This is evident in that the three customers I saw none of them even had a neck wader or mask around their neck. One guy was lingering through the produce section while the manager was checking prices on a display right beside him. Makes u feel confident about your fruit. Another lady was walking around with her baby and no mask near the milk. the last lady was just cruising through the store. I feel bad that the Kroger's workers are out at more risk because of these customers. They don't have an option to work at home and it would be nice if people were considerate of their health and welfare as essential workers. read more

I love this Kroger. I work at night. I go there every night after work. Around eleven. The cashier, Tommy, is fantastic. Always puts a smile on my face when I'm in a bad mood or really tired. Most of the cashiers are extremely friendly and have great attitudes. The whole staff is very helpful as well. Tommy needs a raise for being awesome. read more

This is my neighborhood grocery store and I go to it at least 4 times a week. It's always very air conditioned, nice security guard, excellent customer service and never too packed. I can always find a parking spot and most of the time the one for kids. I can even half the time get the kid shopping cart. I like that my kids feel comfortable knowing where everything is placed. The sushi lady is super nice and I buy from her about twice a week. Prices are around the same as anywhere else. I'm actually planning on going in the morning again to pick up some quick items for a weekend event. Thanking this Kroger for being our friendly neighborhood store with great customer service. Continues to be the most customer friendly grocery store, after 12 years of personal experience. Wow, and I'm glad I can still be wowed by this store's nice, understanding & extra- extraordinary employees. From every department there is a smile and offered assistance if necessary. I've not had a single instance where I wasn't treated and spoken to with the most common of courtesy. The same employees are there much longer than other stores I have noticed, that in itself speaks volumes. I have tremendous appreciation for the pharmacy. Going above and beyond doesn't come close to being an appropriate description of how well they run things. They actually care and are nice all the time no matter what. Not the best Kroger I've ever been to but not the worst I've ever been to either. The staff isn't the friendliest, and the produce section was horrible. I picked up an onion and a swarm of gnats and little flies flew right towards me and the fruit and veggies. Staff just stood around like that was typical, wont ever buy produce from there. read more

This is embarrassing to say..... I go into this store at least 4 times a week. It's a smaller, older Kroger- I wasn't to jazzed about it when I moved here. What it may lack in appearance, it makes up for in personality! I moved away for 3 years and 2 workers still remembered when I moved back! I usually see the on duty store manager at least twice a week, I am always greeted and asked if I need any help.... And this may be shocking to believe, I am that person - that will say YES, I do. Decent selection in a small store. It is convenient for a quick grocery run, but doesn't have the extensive section or HEB or some of the other grocers in the area. They jack up the price of goods so you have to get a Kroger card. I don't really understand this, but it can also give you good discounts on gas and other store items. although kroger seems to be the ideal place to shop, i would rather not spend my money or my time in this one. i had came in wanting only a few ingredients for a simple breakfast. the grocery trip was fast and easy. Couldn't expect anything more, but when i had arrived home i found that the sour cream that i had purchased (that had not even passed its "sell by date") had already spoiled, which caused me an inconvenient trip back to the store. while choosing a replacement product i found that several other sour cream containers had gone bad, as well. the bottom line is if you are fine with shopping at a store that sells spoiled food, then this kroger is your store. read more

This Kroger Pharmacy is the best pharmacy I've ever used. The employees have been there for years and they always remember my name. They have never made an error and are always very friendly. When I phone in an order it is always ready. Would recommend this pharmacy to anyone. read more
