This place is Texas Sized! It's not quite as cool as some of the other, newer HEB Plus stores, that have the HEB merchandise, or the HEB BBQ. But it is big- lots and lots of samples- a gigantic seafood and butcher section. The prices are always reasonable, and be sure to check out the clearance section over in the personal care section for the dirt cheapest prices. This store is laid out a little differently from other HEB Plus stores, with a different frozen and fresh refrigerated food layout. I do like the big Texas Beer section in the middle of the store. Parking is easy- it's a huge store, with a huge parking lot. A gas station is in the parking lot with some of the cheapest gas prices in the Katy 'hood! In the front of the store, they were boiling up crawfish! Be sure to ask for H-E-Buddy - he's always giving out Buddy Bucks. read more

I'm beyond disturbed by how I was treated at this HEB! I was at the fish department getting some red snapper and I picked 3 out and shortly after decided I wanted to swap 1 of the 3 out for a bigger one. The guy that was helping me had not started cutting the third fish yet so he swapped. He weighed the bigger fish I choose and I noticed the price on the scale said $37.97lb so I double checked the price of the red snapper and the price showed $13.97. At this point the young man had to call his manager to adjust the price of the swap so I asked the manager is the snapper supposed be 13.97lb or 37.97lb. He said oh he rung the wrong price and then he brought it to the young man attention. So as the manager (Asian guy, I didn't get his name) was adjusting the price of the swap, I simply asked can you all make sure the other two fish were rung up correctly? The Asian guy gonna get rude with me yeah yeah we fixed it, you can check it you can check it...it's fixed. WTH...no you don't have the nerve to be rude to me and I was about to be charged double the price then I should have been charged. I have the right to ask. And he keep talking some smart ish to me, instead of apologizing for the mistake...this man suppose to be a manager of that department and he being rude to me in front of his associates. Ain't this a B. I complained to store manager but you know what the way I was treated I feel it warrants a review. So I hope your corporate office see this and matter of fact I may just call corporate the way I feel. read more

Time for a little HEB love. It's not so much to store but what it stands for - friendly, and support for the community. But I digress. This is the HEB Plus. Essentially if you need it, it's probably here. Flowers, bulk foods, freshly baked goods - had to pass on fresh Key Lime Pie, fresh sushi - had to leave that behind too. We did get some fresh & warm flour tortillas to take back to NM with us. As we checked out another cheerful face made sure we found everything we needed. This review is for the crawfish only. The crawfish had a good flavor, but they had the texture of mush. They were either over cooked or were the bottom of the barrel leftovers. For the price paid you would expect something you could enjoy and not having to throw away 85% due to broken, gooey and frankly inedible crawfish. read more

HEB Plus has gone under a major makeover. Departments have moved around and expanded. Gone is the huge electronics section that was in the middle of the store. Also the chef's case is gone. Now expanded are housewares, healthy living, flowers, wines, cold prepared foods, deli and cheeses. Outside there are plants or BBQ/grill related wares for sale. Every now and then, there will be cookouts out front too. Like during Hatch Chili Season or crawfish season. It's a nice store to shop at. You can find all sorts of international food stuffs. Not quite the abundant selection that Fiesta in Katy has, but nonetheless pretty nice. The produce section is ok. If you decide to shop in the morning, everything has been nicely stocked. The hot chili pepper section is not that great. The variety is limited. There's also always freshly prepared guacamole and a little produce section for the little ones. In this bin, kids can leave 25¢ for a banana, orange or an apple. The meats are so neat. The butcher counter features the best cuts and freshly ground meat. You can find a few game/wild meats here too. Like rabbit and bison. There is a little bit of everything for everyone. The makeup section is nice. They also feature Chi products and sulfate free shampoos. The skincare items they carry are reasonably priced too. Whatever the season, there are a few aisles dedicated to the appropriate selling items related to it. Like summer, Halloween, Christmas, Valentines etc Every weekend, the sample ppl are out all over the floor. Making food and sometimes they have wine too. It gets pretty crazy during the weekends and if there is a major holiday coming up, plan to shop ahead of time. This place sometimes isn't well stocked during peak times. There have been a few Saturdays in which the dairy, bread and baking sections needed to be desperately restocked. There is a RediClinic inside of this HEB if you need to see someone for urgent care or general checkup. Also, a cell phone repair store. Overall, it's a good store with great prices. read more

HEB is where I go now when it comes to getting grocery meats and vegetables. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are also good, but they don't carry the inventory that you find at HEB. I would give this place 6 stars but five is the limit and anyway they lose a point for my having to put up with the commando parking and traffic situation out front. As a parenthesis, I have been struck twice in the parking lot while walking. Once by a cart boy who pushed a train of carts into me. Newton was right about Conservation of Momentum. I love to shop at HEB and I was in this area and needed to pick up a few things. This is a HEB plus store so its larger than most of their locations. If I remember correctly they even sell electronics including TVs. They never disappoint with their samples and the area where they cook different meals for you to try out. They are arranged in pretty much the same order no matter which one you shop at. I always like to buy my meat from here. There are locations throughout the city so no mater where you live there will be on close by. They will always be my grocery of choice. read more

I stopped by real fast to purchase a case of Beer, I went to the register and a cashier by the name of John was working, he greeted me then asked to wait while he was cleaning the conveyer belt. He continued doing that and kept me waiting, as he with carelessly continued cleaning the belt, I had to move to another register, and the John continued cleaning the conveyer belt. Is this really the customer service HEB promises? Hire people that serve customers not idiots that don't know that me and other customers are why they receive a check. I'm being nice with a 2 star because I've shopped her since 2008 but over the past month/month in a half this store has gone downhill! Maybe they are keeping coolers cold enough? I don't have the time nor should I have to let them know every week of spoiled and expired items, I have had lunch meat 8 days past expiration, milk 2 days before expiration and tasted horrible. I now have a new milk this time and it expires in 5 days and it tastes horrible (organic fat free) another lunch meat expires in a week but tastes disgusting! Shred cheese molding that expires in April! The worst is the bag of H‑E‑B chicharones that expired 6/2023! I received on 2/6/2024! Yes I've gotten my refunds HOWEVER not the tax I paid for these items. And honestly it's been every week with something and I'm done I just can't keep having to deal with not being able to enjoy food or produce (that molds in a day or 2) anymore especially when food prices are so high and my time taken away from having to get my refunds is beyond hit it's limit. read more

Not a rating on HEB but for the tech repair shop in there. Gave my laptop for a $60 hinge fix but instead broke the screen and GLUED the hinge instead of replacing it. He only accepted cash and gave a sticky note as a "receipt". Shows how illegitimate this business is with it not appearing on google maps or yelp. Would have returned it and asked him for a refund but the guy gave me a sticky note, knowing he'd act oblivious to the repair and disregard the refund. read more

COVID-19 Review. I want to applaud H-E-B for the lengths it's taking recently to keep their customers safe. This is by far my favorite grocery and I now feel safe to shop and not be I fear of being exposed to the virus as everyone is required ro wear mask and social distancing in place in the store. Also I notice the price on mead protein was cheaper to help their patrons during this crisis as many are losing jobs and still need to feed their families. Forcing me to use their cart during covid19 pandemic when I brought my own bag seemed crazy at first, but I did it. I didn't want to risk touching a cart, even if I cleaned it or they did. But their cart creates social distance space in front of and behind me if another person is using one. It doesn't cover my sides, but I applaud their effort. Stickers on the ground 2m apart leading into a single entrance and limiting store volume, working around the clock to restock with an immanent, voracious contagion threat...above and beyond. I guess they could close inside and do only curbside once this becomes locally overwhelming. Hopefully that instead of closing completely. This particular location always has more varieties of produce, like consistently more types of oranges for one. Also more samples, fancy ones, like they had a Spanish table once with a plethora of charcuterie board goodies including premium meats, cheeses and aged Andalusian wines. H-E-B in general has unique items I can't get other places like frozen ready to cook french baguette, hash browns unseasoned (most places put spices like garlic in them, no thanks). And it's just about the cheapest fresh stuff anywhere bc of course it's local, so better quality and price. No wonder it won best grocer in the country. read more

I went to this HEB to find some beef for Christmas dinner. Paid through the nose at $14/lb for the Natural Cut NY Strip and it was awful. To say the least it was embarrassing for us while we watched our guest chew it to death. It was loaded with sinu that you couldn't see from the outside. I am very disappointed in this location. They are always out of stock on many items, when I inquire with the store associates they always answer with and "oh well" attitude. They were out of zucchini and yellow squash yesterday, I asked an employee about checking the in the back for more, he was very dismissive with me with his answer. It was apparent that they were restocking produce and they couldn't be bothered with helping me. I also inquired with several employees who were standing in a group near the check-out lanes about the seafood counter closing so early in a busy day and they too were dismissive about my inquiry. This is a perfect HEB for the suburbs - that is it's large, has a gas station, pharmacy, and they even made the news a few months ago because some guy thought he might have Ebola and decided that rather than going to a hospital ER, he would go to this location's Redi-Clinic. If that doesn't give you confidence about them, I don't know what will! Seriously though, before this HEB opened, there was no other grocery stores around - there was no Wal-Mart down the streets and the closest store was the Kroger off of Grand Parkway. They were open after Hurricane Ike and as much as I make fun of Katy (for good reason), they were a life saver that week when I stayed back in Katy. 100% true story: They did go a little overboard with their grand opening (around 2006) however. I remember I got an invitation in the mail talking about shuttle buses and such and chuckled to myself that HEB would send out an invitation. It's only a grocery store, right? I'm not the crazy one here thinking it's not a big deal. Then on the afternoon of the grand opening I saw that traffic was nuts, their parking lot was full, they had cheerleaders, bands, traffic cops, etc. etc. so I thought to myself, "surely the average Katy resident wouldn't just go to that unless they were really giving away some good stuff!" and so I thought what the hell, let me go see what's going on there. It turned out, it was like most other new HEB's except there were people dressed like they were going to a Hollywood movie premiere. All the people who had moved into the new Seven Meadows subdivision had put on their best outfits and go the family to go sample cheese and sausages. We love this HEB. We drive from West Houston to visit this store. They have a number of great tasting stations and a great wine selection. The Cooking Connection team is one of the best in any HEB (and I've been to dozens). The layout is easy to navigate (unlike the Memorial one) and the store is clean. read more

If I could give this store a negative 5 it would not be enough to compensate for the rude disrespectful racist way I was treated by one of the people who work there. I had tried to speak to the manager about a product they sell and 3 messed up take out orders .I called, emailed, and finally went into the store. No answer, no response .So I left him or her a note. As I had no paper I wrote on an empty white card board sign .Then a big guy yelled at me I was damaging property. I stopped said I was sorry. I went to pick up some medication at the pharmacy and was told by a very sarcastic pharmacy technician by the name of Ricardo that the blood pressure medication which was medically prescribed was a maintenance medication and would not be filled until the next day. I don't know since when a pharmacy technician dictated which medication is more important! I love to shop at HEB. Be prepared for this location though. It is a nightmare to try and get into. They only have one turn in coming from Grand Parkway and the lights are not timed very well for all of the Katy traffic. They do have a really large parking lot so I've always been able to find a place. At this location I usually park far away and just walk. The store is always clean and lots of workers helping and handing out samples. I've always been able to find everything I need and the layout makes sense. I usually make it a point to shop here on a Monday, its still pretty packed, but not as bad as a Saturday or Sunday.This is one of the nicer HEB's I've been in, which would explain why they are so busy! read more

I just used the curbside pick today and I LOVE IT!!!! The guy working there came out before I had even put my car in park, brought out complimentary cookies, verified my order and was very friendly as well! He loaded up my trunk and I was out of there in less then 5 mins!!! Then when I got home I was actually a little surprised to find that everything was exactly what I ordered and even the produce were perfect! I have to admit I was already preparing myself for some kind of oops, but no! Perfect from beginning to end, I am definitely doing this from now on!!! No more searching for a car cart to keep the kid happy, no more spending too much because I found the clearance shelf and no more dodging those horrible birds that poop all over my car! read more
