Kroger Marketplace was on the way to the Lake and a convenient stop for fruits and vegetables. It is a big store and we used a shopping cart while the lovely missus found an electric cart fully charged. It didn't take long for bananas and blue and black berries and green grapes and cucumbers and celery and packaged spring mixed salads and tomatoes to hit the cart. Fresh pineapple and Fuji apples and navel oranges and mandarins will be healthy snacks. Yes, there is more ... cheeses and yogurt, ground LaVazza coffee and to keep hydrated we got bottled water. Kroger is a great store with clean and wide aisles. It was a self check out pleasure having done our shopping at this Kroger, and also seeing on the paper receipt that Kroger contributes to the Outsiders Animal Farm & Sanctuary. read more

Good Checkers but HORRIBLE managers that want to justify their jobs by randomly moving items with brainless intent making it harder for customers to find items. Additionally, they have the aisles so crowded with extra displays it makes it difficult to navigate the aisles without making some one aggravated or knocking something over. The managers are creating dangerous situations in the aisles that will cause accidents. If this was a nursing home or some institution with actual tough inspections they would be fined all over the place for all the trip hazards they cause!!! read more

I like my Kroger clean. They have really good food obviously love getting my sandwiches from here. Service is awesome as well. Everyone is always happy to help. On multiple occasions 'Courtney' in the pharmacy has been rude and generally I'll-tempered to not only myself, but others waiting patiently once they reach the counter. Doling out medication/advice takes a certain type of empathy she clearly lacks. Management: some individuals are just not capable of dealing with the public in fast-paced environments. Employees with personality disorders are better suited with a broom in the warehouse, not customer facing roles. read more

I had a totally new experience at this location. I also found out all Krogers are not alike. Definitely not alike. Before you even get in the door you can see that things are different here. The store almost looks like a Walmart on the outside. They had tons of summer merchandise sitting outside on sale at deeply discounted rates. I walked in the door and to the right was a little section of nothing but handicap buggies. Wow it had to be at least 20 of them neatly arranged, fully charged and ready to go. I might also mention they were brand new. Kroger why can't we get these in your other locations like Greenbriar, Old National and Cascade. I select the store that has the greater chance of having these buggies. The entire store is just beautiful. From the deli which is really a cafe restaurant, to the wine section....that has more than 6 aisles to the aisle that has nothing but single refrigerated cold drinks in an entire aisle. The biggest thing that is different here is the fact that there is a clothing and shoes section. Not some little rounder of clothes but aisles and aisles of clothing. It gave me the vibe of it being an Old Navy. Everything was neat and in order. I would love to see that in the city locations. read more

Having never been to a Kroger that sells clothes and shoes, I think this is the best Kroger I have ever been to! This Kroger is massive. It's almost overwhelming how big it is inside. It's clean, bright, and fairly organized. They seem to have good quality as well as good quantity food. Their produce looked fresh, and the items that I bought were indeed fresh. Everything looked well stocked. The staff is friendly and helpful. It took me a very long time to wrap my head around the fact that there was a clothing section, though. I thought I had walked in to another store. Again, I've never been to a Kroger with a clothing section before. Not only did they have a lot of options in their shoe department, they also had name brand shoes such as Nike, Dr. Scholl's, and others. I couldn't believe I was carrying groceries while trying on shoes inside a Kroger. Give me some time and I will get used to it. Now it's going to take me even longer to go "grocery shopping," Lol. This Kroger also has a gas station, but it's located near the shopping center entrance, right off the road. Parking lot is also big. There's a Starbucks inside as well as a separate Starbucks shop in front of the store. read more

Unbelievable how huge this place is. The Kroger's I am use to going to was only a grocery store. This location is a department store with a grocery store blended together. For those who know about the store called Walmart up north. Kroger's is just like that. A beautiful place that has so much to offer. Clean, well stocked, helpful employees, what more could you want!? A clean bathroom, that would have been cool. I docked a star for that. We are staying at a nearby lake house for the week and visited a few times. I like Kroger as I grew up in MI and that was my main grocery store for yrs. I was happy to visit one here in GA. I love their rewards program! It's April of 2021 and some people, me included, are wearing masks. I wanted to surprise my wife with grilled salmon for dinner and I went to my local Publix in Dawsonville. They only had a couple of pieces. Even though we avoid Kroger like the plague, I went in. Just a note. I haven't been in Kroger for a couple of years, because it is a totally disgusting store. It is even more disgusting than the Walmart across the street. Kroger is disgustingly. The employees are Walmart rejects. I went to the seafood department and all the fish looked like it was there for weeks. As usual the "employee" that was supposed to be there was not any where in sight. I went to customer service and had a horrible conversation with the employee, Lynn. She was one of the reasons that I avoided the store. Her bad attitude has gotten worse, if that was possible. I asked to speak to a manager, but was told that there was no manager available. After a long wait, a so called person in charge came to the desk. Not only did he not care that there was no one in seafood, but he didn't care that Lynn had the same nasty and sour attitude. I guess he didn't notice, because he has the same attitude. I guess Kroger doesn't realize that there is something called "CUSTOMER SERVICE" Called the store manager the next morning. The mystery is solved! The store manager should be cleaning toilets in Walmart. Avoids this store. read more

So I guess if you want to get the virus, you can go to Kroger in Dawsonville. We recently leftlet went to that location today and went thru the self checkout line. As we stood there and watched several customers go thru, we noticed that the area was never cleaned. We asked for the area to be cleaned when our turn came up and got a nasty look and a nasty comment. We cleaned the area ourselves. We reported the incident to a manager and was told that they are trying not to clean as much as they need to because the cleaning solution is messing up the equipment. We thought that everybody should know that Kroger doesn't care about the public and they will tell you so. It is a shame when Walmart is better than Kroger. read more

This best is by far the BEST Grocery Store in all of Dawsonville. Been shopping there since 2018. Friendly Atmosphere. Very Helpful Associates. It's Better Than Any Walmart out there. I'd rather shop here than anywhere else to get my essential's. I like the selections of Meats, Dairy, Frozen Veggies, Snacks, Can Goods & ETC. I Wish We Had A Kroger's In Dahlonega lol. Shopping as good as it gets The first time we walked inside the Kroger Super Center Marketplace in Dawsonville we had to walk around in total amazement of everything they have to offer, the size of the store, the hospitality of the entire staff, the well stocked items and the cleanliness of the store. We had not seen a Kroger like this before. We had been loyal Kroger customers until moving to Nashville, TN where the stores were overall in constant disarray and the staff went out of their way to ignore you. We thought we would see if this new Kroger was anything like what we liked about Kroger from before. WOW!!! This is the Kroger we knew from years ago on steroids. Walk inside the door and you are greeted by a warm, personable staff member. There is never a shortage of shopping carts available and they are clean. As you enter the main store it is huge, well lighted and large wide isles. There are always people stocking shelves any time that you are in the store and seldom will you find anything out of stock unlike our past experiences where shelves were stocked over night and not again until the next night. The stock clerks are friendly and helpful as they work. Produce: The produce section is constantly being stocked with fresh vegetables and the quality is always great. You never have to look around for a plastic bag to put your items in, they are always well stocked fully. The selection is huge, reminds me of growing up in Central Florida and going to the farmers markets where everybody brought their food to sell The Bakery is amazing and we try to walk past quick. Fresh breads, rolls, and other delicacies put out all day in bags that steam from the fresh breads inside. But as you leave the bakery you are in the fresh seafood department and your will power weakens even further. Who doesn't enjoy fresh seafood? No you have already passed the cheese shop, the delicatessen and the wine shop on your left but you are entering the meat department. Beef, Lamb, Veal, Chicken, the list goes on and on. I could fill my shipping cart with a full load of red meats and be happy. But, I have to keep my wife happy and my cardiologist so I pick wisely and then head to the organic section of vegetables. This store has absolutely everything you can want or need. From the groceries, offering name brands to the Kroger brands at discounted prices, * DAIRY - The dairy section is filled with everything you can need from simple cows milk to non diary Soy or Almond milk along with everything in=-between. * HBA - Forget CVS or Walgreen's, Kroger now has everything you need right in the store ans even have a full pharmacy and staff, So you never have to leave the store and earn fuel points on your medications. CLOTHING - Imagine going to Walmart and finding somebody who wants to help you find that special item you are looking for or give you fashion advice? Once you walk into the apparel department at Kroger you will have two, three or more people assisting you. Showing you how to save money with their coupons from that weeks flyer and more. CHECKOUTS - We had something we had to purchase at a grocer/department store across GA 400 on the same day. The place was packed, no shopping carts inside, and they had both of their checkout open out of the 50 that were there. We walked into Kroger to see it crowded but not only got everything we needed and then some but every single checkout line was open and there was no wait. They're grocery pick up sucks it's always understaffed idk why I even select a time for when to pick up my groceries when I just sit there and rot in my car forever waiting on my stuff to get home and find a bunch of wrong or damaged crap in my grocery order. This is a huge Kroger and has not only good but clothing and small electronics as well. For me to is too big and overwhelming so I use the click list. The click list is amazing. I love sitting at home or anywhere and doing my shopping then picking a day and time to go pick it up. They load it into the car for you and let you know if they had to make any substitutions. If they make any subs they usually upgrade you to something better and charge you the price if your original item since the sub is over organic and more expensive. For this this is a time saver and I don't have to go into the store that I find to just be too big. Also fill out the surgery for the people who fill out your order for they get points to use. read more

I must say right off the bat, I've never really been a fan of Kroger. Since they opened this location a few years ago, I do come here from time to time. The store has almost everything you could ever need or want. The only draw back is it's so big, you get lost looking for that one or two items you came in for and spend way too much time in there. The food court is nice with a wide variety of different types of cooked meals to choose from. They should install "you are here" maps throughout the store and designated areas for shoppers to stop and talk to each other without blocking the aisles. read more

This Kroger is very spacious and clean. However, to me, it wasn't a friendly shopping experience. The employees seem distant like they didn't want to help. Even leaving, normally someone will say thanks for coming but that didn't happen. Or maybe that I was one of the very few minorities in there in what seems to be a nearly white town. Kroger gas station is a fraudulently taking and holding your money. My 17 yr old daughter went up there on Monday and got $30 worth of premium gas for her Kia. Upon looking at her bank account Kroger froze up $125.50. Upon calling Kroger because she needed this money for another purchase they said it was her bank that has the hold and it should go back at midnight. Next day at 2 pm I call again and they said it seems high and they will check into it. Day 3 talked to a manager at 8pm the third day he said they can't check into it for 5 days. Money still missing from acct. They are stealing people's money. Keeping it in an acct to gain interest. This is theft. Be careful using Kroger for your gas purchases. I've written positive reviews about this store before, but today was a bit different and deals specifically with the deli staff. I was stopping in to grab a quick snack and a meal for later at work, so I didn't have a lot of time to spare, maybe 10-15 minutes. I stood for a full minute at the hot bar (chicken, etc.) and was completely ignored. I moved to the pizza section. Nope; the one guy working in that area was doing some cleaning and avoided eye contact. The employees in the cold section (salads, etc.) were chatting amongst themselves, but , to be honest, I wasn't really interested in cold stuff, so I moved on quickly. No one seemed to even notice that I was there for the full 2-3 minutes that I was at the different counters. I gave up and chose Taco Bell instead. I will still shop here- I actually like the produce section very much, and have had good interactions with employees before, but this points out to a shortfall in either staffing or training. read more

The pharmacy is the lone bright light in this huge mega store. Pharmacy is well run, well staffed, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The rest of this store is a jumbled mess. It's unorganized and confusing. In the majority of grocers I have shopped in as you enter the first thing you see is produce. No so here, but why? The Who store is confusing and difficult to navigate. Checking out is just as discombobulated. It's slow, poorly trained and I adequately staffed. I'd sooner eat a live chicken as return to shop in this store. read more

The loss of one star goes to the produce department, the super Walmart has better selection and that's sad. I was super excited when this Kroger opened and made it my go to grocery store, however I have become progressively disenchanted with it. Their initial response to covid was inept with sanitizers although they improved. Some of the product placement is bizarre(paper towels and napkins being different areas, snacks in different places, etc). Even after shopping there for quite awhile I still struggle finding things, and not because of its size. For such a large store their selection is very average. They seem more intent on selling clothes than groceries. Obviously a bigger markup on clothes because they are constantly pushing clothes sales. The stores out of stocks have always been high and seem to be getting worse. Tried to get frozen peas three times in the last 10 days. Kroger brand out every time and they had no frozen peas at all once. Cart corrals frequently packed full, especially on the weekends. Been a loyal shopper because of price and convenience, but seriously reevaluating my choices. read more

Go early in the morning to avoid crowds (COVID-19). Full cart 230.00 not a single cashier line open. Asked if a line could be open and got a rude response. Took me 30 mins to check-out bc the system kept having problems. Attendant stood 2 ft behind me the entire time, so much for distancing. Watched person after person with full carts frustrated and angry trying to check-out yet no line open. This store does so much business and yet they can't open one line early in the morning. I placed my order for pickup at 9am this morning to be picked up between 6pm-7pm. I received a call at 5pm asking me to arrive at 7pm because the order was not ready. I arrived at 7pm and waited one hour and 15 minutes . I phoned the store after 45 minutes and was told several called and had the same complaints and the manager would come out to speak with me. The manager didn't come out. There are only 2 associates working the department. 10 items including toilet paper, water, cat litter, ham sandwich meat couldn't be substituted. read more

This has to be the worst grocery store that I have shopped in! Plain and simple they offer the best ad each week but have no product when you go to shop the ad. I had shopped this store since it opened and it has gone down hill stead ally since that time. There is no longer any help on the front end cashiers and packers. The meat dept could not keep a special on the shelf to save their lives. Store is poorly run by management and they need to spend some money on hours so customers can get help. Prices are incorrect and they give me a refund but I never knew if they fixed the problem or not? May be the customer after me got beat but does not check there bills. On another note all this jumping through hoops to get a discount? Most people have no idea they did not get the deal they where looking for? Check your bills people and head to customer service...... Lots of employees walking around. Those shopping for online orders are rude and will run you over if you are in their way. Need to do the online shopping early in the morning or overnight. Also need to train some of these extra employees to operate the registers so the lines aren't always so long. read more

Kroger has really put its customers to the back of the line over them trying to get out of debt. Raising prices and waiting in line to check out at Express lane for 20 plus minutes. Very few registers open. I do not recommend this store. read more
