My go new in my new area. Large cheese shop, deli, bakery. Checks all the boxes. But the grocery is not what this review is about...it's the pharmacy. Feeling under the weather I went to Urgent Care on Wednesday afternoon. It was exhausting. So after they said they would send my prescription to Kroger I just went home, and would deal with that Thursday. Thursday I got to Kroger at 5 PM and stood thru a long @ss line....really really long and slow...and when I got the the window I was told that prescription "just arrived". Really? I just had a difficult time believing that. I was told it would be ready in 30 minutes, so I went to the back of the line again. 15 minutes later I wasn't halfway thru the line, and I'm still not feeling well. So I just left. Will be going back today to try to get this. If they tell me it just arrived in their system, I won't even be surprised. Need to find a new pharmacy here. ASAP. Please be very wary using Kroger's Instacart option for deliveries. My issue is not with Kroger. My issue is with Instacart that contracts deliveries with Kroger. My 'shopper' went shopping for herself instead of filling my order, charged my CC and though Kroger refunded me, there is nothing they can do. I reached out to Instacart, who had SEVERAL complaints about this person not delivering groceries, yet they did NOTHING about the complaints and let her keep 'working/stealing' from customers. I wanted her information so I could file charges of theft, and they wouldn't give it to me due to legal liabilities, but they did finally fire her. read more

I would do all my shopping at this Kroger if they carried everything I needed. The staff are always very kind and efficient And many have been there for years. Most checkout staff take great care in making sure my groceries are treated with gentleness and care even to the point of rubber banding those pesky egg and fruit cartons that pop open on the car ride home. Michael is a stand out rockstar! I wish I could remember more names (I'm better with faces). Every time I needed to see a manager about something my issue was resolved. Heading over to Pharmacy to give them the same rating! (Edit) Apparently there's no option for separating the Pharmacy. This is now my number one and only pharmacy that I use and it's squarely on the head pharmacist and the staff. Fast, efficient, great pricing and above and beyond the call on making sure that my refills are taken care of on time. To the point where I was switched from a 30 day to 90 day at a better price with an auto refill function that prompts my Doctor when I'm out of refills. read more

It's pretty rare that I go to this Kroger location because everyone else goes to this Kroger location. However, on a recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the aisles felt a little wider and I didn't feel cramped by other customers. This felt especially important during COVID, when some crowded days at the grocery can feel panic-inducing. The store is clean and this is clearly one of the more busy kroger locations, which means that they have more bells and whistles than the others. There's plenty of parking with lots of other shopping nearby (Michaels, target, etc.). The Kroger liquor store is also located in the same complex. Overall, this Kroger is pretty par for the course, but do expect this location to be busier than most! Stay safe and be healthy, NKY! read more

This store is walking distance from home and we get our prescriptions here which is why we end up here but I'm going to switch over to Walgreens. We stopped coming here because the parking lot is a mess, it's always crowded, and too often there's errors in orders which is a hassle you have to determine if it's worth going to customer service if an error occurs.. for us, u less it's over 5.00$ I'm not waiting... Yesterday we were at Petsmart and had a prescription to pick up so I saw all the clothes on sale... spent 30 minutes going through them to find things for my family.... I assumed we were getting a good deal... my mistake that I didn't read more closely... NOTHING I purchased was more then 52% off yet SIGNS everywhere stating 70% off--- oops. Up to 70%. I didn't have groceries so I noticed the error and bought only a tank top I liked for 9$--- not really a great or even good deal but I needed tank tops IF I HAD A CART FULL of groceries with my kids with me and ended up buying those I would have been really angry... at this point I just won't shop there again. Wow. This Kroger gets better and better. Many quality ingredients slowly make their way onto the shelves. I was happy to find that they support local small-batch makers and farmers. I saw Made by Marvis excellent jams on the shelf (straight from COVington) and I was blown away by the incredible rare cheeses selection right at the deli stand. The award winning goat cheeses, like Purple Haze, fantastic Tarentaise Alpine style cheese that was voted best cheese in USA in 2017 I believe. Finally, some delicacies like Pleasant Ridge Reserve (!!), Cavemaster Reserve Greensward, soft ashy Bonne Bouche, which will make any cheese plate a winner. Also, they upgraded the Liquor Store and have a bar there now! Wow! Great job Kroger! read more

Great place for your monthly groceries. The produce is quite fresh. The other sections are also having a very good quality products. Their own private labels - STO (Simple Truth Organic) and Private Selection products are great with very reasonable price. There is a bulk section but is very small and limited number of options. Although relatively it's better since the competitors Target and Walmart don't have any kind of bulk section at all. However, I have seen much larger bulk sections in Winco in Texas. So, coming from there, it is a disappointment. There is also a salad bar right next to the bulk section which has all kinds of veggies, fruits, and meats that go into a salad. The bakery isn't so great though. We tried a couple of things like cheesecake and Tiramisu and they were okay. There is also a pharmacy and walk-in clinic which is good. Generally, there is a little wait time involved in the clinic. The nurse and the rest of the staff are good. We have been purchasing groceries from here since last four months and are very much satisfied. The staff is good and quite supportive. On some occasions, we did come across 1-2 folks who were rude but otherwise, the people have been very supportive. read more

I always liked this store but had issues today. While the pharmacist was very helpful the staff in pharmacy was not. I live 30 minutes from this store and was picking up medications for my son who was released from the hospital today. I called before driving there to see if they were ready. I was told there were 4 total prescriptions but 1 would not be ready until the next day. I asked if I could get it from another location and was told I could call around and have the pharmacy call them. I asked the name of the missing medication when I arrived and was told I could not get that information as I was not the patient. I asked how I could call around if I didn't know the name of the med? I asked for the pharmacist. Long story short there were 8 medications and all were in store. Has I not been insistent I would have had another trip tomorrow and my son who is very ill would have missed some meds. read more

I had heard this was the Kroger of all Krogers so I was disappointed to find it didnt compare to some of my other fave marketplace locations! I think part of the downside is its not as new, so maybe needs updating or organizing differently. The selection was ok, but again not as good as compared to say, Amelia. The place was clean. This is re the Kroger in Newport plaza. I just wanted the sale price for Tide. I scanned the coupon, but my phone told me I had to sign in to my account. My account is so old, I wasn't able to do that, b/c my old email doesn't exist, and the two people I spoke to wouldn't bypass the coupon and give me the $4 off, and didn't care a bit that I was walking out unsatisfied and without the main thing that I went in to get. I told the lady at the u-scan "well, I guess I can't buy Tide HERE".... she smiled and said "ok!". the guy at the service desk was about the same, except he took my phone and tried to look for the app on it, and he didn't give it back to me, so I had to drive back there to get it. the A.I. on the phone was even rude, I swear! The lady at the service desk when I picked up my phone had a chance to keep me as a customer by giving me the coupon for Tide, (I hinted), but it didn't even cross her mind. I've been going to that Kroger every week practically since it's been open, but I'm done....I'll go to Bellehovue or Ft Mitchell. read more

I really love this Kroger. The salad bar is always great and the meats and cheeses are nuts. Love them. The seafood department is just ok but we live in the midwest so I can't expect too much. I wish the fresh organic section was larger and that all the organic products were in the same place. No more double coupons, has me questioning if I'll be back to Kroger. Granted, if you looking for atypical fresh produce, spices, etc... they probably have it, but for regular grocery shopping the prices are not so great. Last time I was here, I went to Target first and passed up purchasing several items, because I thought it would be cheaper at Kroger with the double coupon... then I learned NO MORE DOUBLE COUPONS - big let down. Lately for some reason there are boxes of product sitting on the floor; pallets of products blocking the shelves. And there is approx. 100 or more dollars worth of products on the floor under shelving. All this can be noted on any given time &/or day. Also they need to do something about the pharmacy. The wait has gotten really long over the last 4-5 months and I have heard multiple arguments between staff and customers about wrong dosage/medication. As a former nurse this is very concerning and makes me think long and hard about transferring my RX to another Kroger or another chain entirely. read more

My favorite Kroger! They are constantly updating the store to improve your experience, and the staff have been becoming more outgoing. Even though I might not look like I want to chat while I'm doing my weekly shopping, I definitely prefer a smile/hello over a grump face. Please keep this up Kroger employees! Keep an eye on your receipt, though. The prices marked in the store don't always match what it is scanned at check out. The employees are always willing to adjust during checkout, and customer service always makes it right if you don't happen to notice until post-payment, but it is still an extra hassle (and sometimes embarrassing when you have to ask for the adjustment while lines are long). Will gladly raise to a 5 star when this has been improved. read more

If you want to be heckled at the front door - go here. But I can tell you there are plenty of other grocery stores in the area I don't need to come here. They have these internet service providers that post up at the front door. Quite frankly? I came to get groceries and don't owe them a lick of my time. I enter the door and immediately start to peel right to the pharmacy... I'm probably 20-30ft away from them. He shouts "hi there!" Across the store. I don't acknowledge (because I'm really far away and I don't intend to get sucked into their spiel) and he immediately shouts "Oh you don't even smile???" Rude and unnecessary and unprofessional. I don't owe them anything and for him to shout that in front of everyone coming in is just embarassing and inappropriate. I didn't ask for that. That's the kind of shit dudes on the street say to you while you're walking into a gas station alone at night. On par with the other "nice" Kroger in Hyde Park, this one has everything you could possibly want (except a close parking spot ;), and more. The prices are great, selection is enormous and at times overwhelming. As this is a very busy Kroger, I recommend going at off peak times, either early in the morning or late at night. There are tons of self checkouts on both sides of the traditional registers. There are a few RedBox machines for those that can't find anything on NetFlix, Amazon, Hulu, or YouTube as well. Oh, and don't forget the Coinstar machine. You gotta cash in those lucky pennies somewhere right? And speaking of pennies, there is a US Bank inside as well (near the pharmacy). If you need a 5/3 bank, well, there is one next to the detached (only in KY...geesh) liquor store. Oh and their gas station has decently priced liquid gold as well. If you spend enough on groceries, you will get 10cents off each gallon. I recommend downloading their app to stay aware of any deals or promotions. Usually the Kroger brand is still cheaper, but if you are the type of person that needs name brands, you'll be happy. I felt the need to write a review based on the awesome customer service I experienced today at this Kroger. My review is for the cheese shop, I will update when I visit again ;) I came here today in search for delicious cheeses to make a meat/cheese plate to accompany a delicious wine I had just acquired over the holidays. I consider myself a foodie, but out of the 350 cheeses that Murray's had available I was lost. Staring at labels, and adding up prices in my head per pound, a woman named Cathy approached me, "How can I help you today?" I said, "Start from the beginning, and pretend I know nothing about cheese." She giggled and so we began our journey though the cheese department. She took the time to describe every cheese category, what was popular and the flavor profiles of each. I picked a few of my favorites along the way, and she even let me try some that I was on the fence about. When I got home and unwrapped them all I could not have been more satisfied with the ones we picked out. If Cathy did not have the patience and the kindness in her heart to take the time to talk with me I would have probably spent $30 on god knows what. There are still good people out there who are passionate about what they do, and Cathy at Murray's cheese in this Kroger is one of them. Stop by and see her! I was at this Kroger shopping during my lunch so I was in a Hurry. I over heard a manger being extremely rude at his employees. I was walking away Bc again I was in a hurry. As I was I over heard the same manager tell a young female employee that she had a nice ass. I was shaking and extremely disturbed. I came back when the manager walked away and she was stocking the shelf's and I had to ask if she will be reporting his comment. She stated she couldn't since since that was a manger and that this particular manager was always harrying employees verbally and physically. I emailed corporate but also letting others know to take their money else we're. Sadly this is not the first time I would've heard of the poor management at this location. read more

I'll admit, I'm more of a Meijer shopper, but when Kroger Marketplace opened up I found myself frequenting it more and more! This is certainly one of the biggest Krogers I have shopped at, and they have everything you need. They have a deli, two salad bars, fresh bread, a sushi bar, olive bar, and a cheese bar. There is a large selection of organic and vegetarian foods. Newport Kroger Marketplace may be big, but it still is attentive with customer service. The folks working at the cheese bar, deli, and seafood counter are all amiable and remember me from past visits. The stock is pretty well organized too. read more

This is a Kroger. It is nice, new and clean. Produce section is always well-stocked and attractive. There are a number of kiosks featuring sushi, cheese, olives and other random wares. Many fresh-baked high quality breads available. I have noticed no glaring holes in the grocery section. There is also a "home" section that has various furniture, draperies and the like. I have not been in the need of various furniture, draperies or the like while at Kroger so I have not ventured to that corner, but it appears to be a decent selection of various furniture, draperies and the like. Beer selection is awful for an upscale Kroger. Hyde Park completely embarrasses the Newport Kroger. We always thought that the beer selection was terrible because the Kroger liquor store had a good selection of craft beer. But, as we found out one evening when searching for an elusive IPA: nope. Sundays make for Charles Barkley-esque turrrrible grocery shopping as every single person in Northern Kentucky will be there. read more

Kroger Marketplace definitely moved up Kroger on my list of go-to grocery stores. It's new, clean, big, and has pretty much everything. It has a lot of organic food options, some lunch options, and a lot of checkout aisles and self-checkout kiosks. I probably still prefer Meijers because it seems to be cheaper and also has more non-food items (Target-like), but more importantly because it has a predictable layout. I suspect Kroger marketing purposely puts things in an incomprehensible order so shoppers are forced to wander and maybe pick up a few extra things. Fine. But I hate that even though I frequent this Kroger, I still don't entirely feel that I know where things are. Regardless, it's still the closest major grocery store and I will still go. I will like it even more when the Super Target opens, and when Kroger finally gets that gas station open! read more

Woah this place is big! You can pick up a sofa, milk, and sushi all in the same trip. Isn't that what we all want in our grocery store? Ok maybe not. But what I do want is fresh produce, friendly staff, and good prices. This Kroger delivers on all those! So yes, its a Kroger. BUT, they have fancy cheese, huge produce section that has consistent quality products, and decent naturals selection. Their cheese selection is my favorite reason to go. The cheese island is staffed and you can taste samples of anything, just ask! (and yes, I said cheese island..) There is a decent seafood and meats section where you can get steaks cut to order. The store is huge and has just about anything you could possibly need, even furniture. Since my dad no longer drives we have been doing weekly errands. Going to Kroger is not one of our regular stops because my sister-in-law Jean does the online grocery shopping for him and her family using the very convenient Kroger Clicklist grocery pickup. Although I have not personally done this there are a lot of great digital coupons for it. This day since he had left a few things off of his grocery list we went to local Kroger store. It was a short list of four items for him and just a couple of things that I needed. One of his items the Kroger protein bars without peanuts was out of stock. We found an alternative which made the time in the store a little bit longer. Taking advantage of the buy 5 save $5 promotion we saved a nice amount of money for such a small order at the checklanes. This is a big Kroger store with easy to travel through aisles and quick & friendly checklane associates. The bangers seem to be good at bagging appropriate things together. Also there always is an associate or two that we encounter while shopping that asks if we need any assistance. The parking lot here always seems to be very full to me. This place is so disgusting that somebody should make a Netflix documentary about it. I'm honestly shocked that people continue to shop here. The food quality sucks and the place is filthy. The last time I went there was a smell of a dead animal carcass in the back by the cereal. That incident was the last straw, and I decided I would never go back. This is my grocery sore of choice when my shopping needs exceed what one can pick up at Mayberry Foodstuffs or Findlay Market. Plus, I like to convince myself that since it is Kroger (as opposed to a Biggs or Meijer) I'm still supporting a local company and local jobs by doing my shopping there. With the exception of the limited stock Kroger on Vine street in OTR, this is the easiest to arrive at full size grocery store for downtown residents. And as far as Krogers go this is one of the nicer ones. Good selection of produce and meats, sushi, salad bar area, grab and go ready to eat dinner food, or the assembled meals that you just have to pop in the microwave. The standard fare also offers a good selection of different brands, and the "organic food section" is quite large. (Though I'm not sure how organic.) There is also a large health & beauty section, and even housewares. Overall, my go-to grocery store for convenience and selection for those larger shopping runs. read more

This is my Kroger. It is one of the new marketplaces and has a bit of a mega store feel. However, while they sell housewares and such, it is still primarily a grocery store, a decent one at that. They are missing a few items I enjoy but generally carry everything I need/want. I also find the pharmacy to be very good. It's nice dropping off a script and shopping while they fill it. A few tips. Don't go on Sunday! It's soooo busy! I'd rather go hungry! Use your Kroger gas points here, you can use more than 10 cents at a time. Check the meat at the deli, I've gotten dry, skanky slices more than once. Drink Big K, it's so good! Ha! read more

I really like this Kroger Marketplace store. Because they have fresh bread, that you can cut yourself, like we do in Belgium. Love it! Also the cheese stand is outstanding and the staff is great: they'll always be there to assist you but aren't too pushy either. I had to do some shopping and visit the Liquor Store at Kroger's Attendant Marlie was an absolute delight and made me choosing liquor and wines for a big event so easy and fun. The Wine selection and Liquor Selection was more than I ever had imagined. It was quick in and quick out since time was of the essence. Parking was right in front of store and let me say being by 3 major highways makes this store a must. Customer Service at its best!! read more

Having recently moved to Newport, KY from Western Hills area of Cincinnati, OH, I can not begin to express my total disappointment in this Krogers. Oh, it has all the bells and whistles...huge, well stocked, clean yada yada..but you might as well order you stuff on line and do a curb pickup. No one greets you. If you need help you must stand in front of an employee and stop them to get their attention. I am completely under the impression that the employees either hate their jobs or have been given instructions not to give customer service or engage a smile towards anyone. I have decided to give up on this location despite it being minutes from my new home and travel back to Western Hills Krogers. That store has the greatest employees in the country. Avoid the Newport Krogers if you have a personality. If you hate contact with other humans than this is the store for you read more
