It's not the first time I had bad experience with the Kroger's customer service desk. I bought a bottle of Kroger brand heavy cream this Monday evening. I spent hours and made a birthday cake with the cream for my husband that evening and then found out the heavy cream had bitter taste and ruined the whole cake and the special family night! I went to return the heavy cream, explained the issue and suggested them to check the shelf to make sure nobody else will experience the same issue. Obviously they did not care, and did not apologize... They always had bad response for returns even it was absolutely not the customer's fault! Do customer deserve more than just getting the several bucks' refund? What about all the time and efforts and more caused by your bad products? Not a sorry, not a good face...? read more

This is my favorite Kroger Market place to come to. It is far more better than the Oakley location. It's super clean, everything is organize and they keep everything stocked up. This location has it all....clothing line, liquor store (separate building), Fifth Third Bank, and a little clinic. We were looking for a particular item in the seafood section. They were quick frozen meals for our dinner. They had plenty! The other locations had very little selection. I also noticed that their produce section is fresh and was admiring the sushi station. I couldn't believe how much dinner kits they had to choose from as well! The imported cheese is huge! Man... I wish I lived closer to this one because I would come here more often. I went in to grab some gum and use the bathroom quickly and was surprised when I entered. I was greeted upon entry and this has to be one of the cleanest Krogers that I have ever been in. I was able to locate an employee who kindly showed me where the bathroom was. She was super friendly and I wish I had gotten her name. The bathrooms were clean and I was able to locate the gum and a couple of other things and checkout quickly. Our cashier was super friendly as well and I made sure to leave him a compliment through the Kroger site because I was blown away with everyone working here. Offer coupons for "4XFUEL POINTS ON GIFT CARDS EVERY WEEKEND" Store signs shows exp. 8/27/23 and rec'd email with same type of coupon exp. 9/4/23. Now the sign at the store gift card kiosk shows scan a QR code. As I cannot afford a cell phone "tough" luck. Received an email coupon showing same offer with expiration date of 9/4/23. However coupon cannot be found on the kroger.com digital coupons. Tried live "chat" and they do not have a clue! Tried speaking in person with the customer service manager at the store and she was also clueless. Next step is try store manager. read more

It's not particularly insightful to say: avoid during peak hours (common sense). The main issue is that it's the cleanest, "safest" large-scale grocery store serving multiple Cincinnati/ NKY neighborhoods. Example: I bypass the Corryville/UC Kroger coming here from Walnut Hills when I want to do extensive grocery shopping. Should there be a large, downtown Kroger for all of the newly popularized urban neighborhoods? Probably. Until then the Newport Pavilion Kroger is a great option. read more

This place is absolutely enormous and could be overwhelming. We stopped here last night. Hubby put gas in the car while I ran in to pick up a couple pints of ice cream for our drive home to Dayton. When you Gas up, make sure to put your rewards number in because you might get some money off! The frozen isles are all in the middle, back half of the store. I was happy to find a large selection of Graeter's! And while they do carry Homemade Brand, they were completely out of the flavor I was looking for - Peanut Butter Oreo. Obviously, that one is quite popular and they should order more. The prices here are good - you can usually find a sale or a coupon on the app. I chose to use self check out. There was no line on a stormy Sunday night. And when I needed help using a coupon, it was taken care of quickly. read more

This place stays busy at all hours! Testament to good location, store variety, and friendly staff. They have a sushi counter inside which is nice (if you like that sort of thing). I rarely run into something out of stock. They have a ton of self service stations for check out (I am still arguing with myself whether those are great service or no service) and regularly keep several cashier lanes open. This location does have a kroger gas station in the front lot if you like to use your reward points there. I generally use them at shell ( but they limit you to 10 cents off at a time) read more

Step #1...be war ready. This Kroger Marketplace gets incredibly busy at usual grocery store peak times (ex: Sunday afternoons and after work). Get your mind right before you come inside. If I have to do a lot of shopping, I try to come when I know it won't be super busy. I would give what times I've figured out are the best times but I can't give my secrets away! Seems like most people who shop here tend to think they're the only ones in the store. People rarely say "excuse me", will cut you off with their carts and race you to check out lines. This place is NOT for the faint of heart. The selection in this Kroger is great. They always have what I need and always offering new things which I really appreciate. There is a deli, bakery, pharmacy, Starbucks, and sushi counter. Really everything you could need in a grocery store. My experience with the pharmacy was terrible. The people who helped me weren't nice and acted like I was bothering them by coming to get my prescription filled. When I got there, the lady at the counter was on the phone and a few steps away from the window. Totally fine. I patiently waited for her to get done doing what she was doing. When she ended her call, without moving any closer to the window to stand in front of me she shouts, "What do you need?"....well Hello to you also. When I came back to fill my prescription and waited for my turn, the first thing the girl says to me is, "Date of birth?"...does no one at the pharmacy say Hi? Hello? How are you? If I'm asking for too much pleases let me know. There are always a lot of staff manning this location, and that makes a lot of sense considering how busy they get. Being that there are so many people around, it would be nice if they asked you if you needed help finding things more often. I often see what I assume to be higher level managers at this Kroger. It might be some sort of training ground. Who knows. They have a GREAT system in place: things are stocked, it's cleaned, it's well manned, etc. I think they could put some time and attention on training their staff on how to be nice or more pleasant and helpful. I love Kroger Marketplaces but this location is by far my least favorite to shop. My last critique is for the Click List shoppers with the semi truck versions of shopping carts. Please stop cutting people off and running people over with those huge carts. I know they have a job to do but they could be mindful of other shoppers. read more

Great place for your monthly groceries. The produce is quite fresh. The other sections are also having a very good quality products. Their own private labels - STO (Simple Truth Organic) and Private Selection products are great with very reasonable price. There is a bulk section but is very small and limited number of options. Although relatively it's better since the competitors Target and Walmart don't have any kind of bulk section at all. However, I have seen much larger bulk sections in Winco in Texas. So, coming from there, it is a disappointment. There is also a salad bar right next to the bulk section which has all kinds of veggies, fruits and meats that go into a salad. The bakery isn't so great though. We tried a couple of things like cheesecake and Tiramisu and they were okay. There is also a pharmacy and walk-in clinic which is good. Generally there is a little wait time involved in the clinic. The nurse and the rest of the staff is good. We have been purchasing groceries from here since last four months and are very much satisfied. The staff is good and quite supportive. On some occasions we did come across 1-2 folks who were rude but otherwise the people have been very supportive. read more

We had originally thought to go the path of least resistance for our wedding flowers, but after getting a quote of nearly $1000 for a small order of wedding flowers, we sought other options. I am so grateful that our venue recommended that we check out Kroger's florist services. Erica was an absolute dream to work with. Her communication style lets you know exactly what she has in mind for the designs and she was so patient guiding us through all the decisions. Her hands on approach and exquisite creations came in at under a third of the other florists we considered. The flowers lasted for weeks after the event and were so fresh on the day of, they were practically busting with vibrant color. It is rare to love your vendor this much, but Kroger made our wedding flowers as least stressful as possible. Go check them out!!! read more

Huge! Can't find anything & just when you learn the store they move everything. I HATE this store! I can't for the life of me figure out who buys their clothes at Kroger. Just stop and stick with what you know. This location is a grocery store, a restaurant, a clothing store, a shoe store, a doctors office, a bank, a jewelry store and a great place for the addicts to hang while waiting for their dealers. I spend way too much of my life here. I will keep it short. You can buy a couch or a rotissere chicken. Both are nice. Prices are a little high on home/pharmacy items but duh, don't buy that stuff here. If you are coming for fresh produce they have a nice selection. Please note: if it is not fresh or stocked ask one of the many produce people to go get you something out of the back. Trucks come in often and there is usually fresher stuff back there. I especially recommend it with onions. The ones I buy are sometimes already turning icky inside. The salad bar and soup is nice if you need a quick lunch. read more

Granted, if you looking for atypical fresh produce, spices, etc... they probably have it, but for regular grocery shopping the prices are not so great. Located on Newport's new Pavilion Parkway - known locally as "the folly on the hill" - this Kroger fails on many levels. Since its opening my wife and I have been unable - on 8 separate occasions - to find the produce we want and would expect a store of this size to stock. 3 times they didn't even have fresh cilantro, nowadays a common ingredient in many dishes. Each time we have driven to the much smaller and far more decrepit Krogers in Bellevue and found what we want there. There's all kinds of wrong with that. The layout is also very wrong, the pharmacy and toiletries located seemingly miles away from everything else. This is doubtless based on some kind of crappy 'customer flow' research from a clueless marketeer but it doesn't result in our family wanting to shop there. The liquor store is also located in its own building, across a roadway containing a drive-thru and very isolated... to the degree that we have never felt compelled to go in there. Generally, Pavilion Parkway has been REALLY badly thought out. Every exit to the main road is fraught with danger as they have either been located on blind corners or electric boxes and/or gas pump signs have been placed to undermine visibility of the oncoming traffic. Just to add insult to injury - especially for the residents of Bellevue - there are NO pedestrian walkways on the outside rim of the development, nor are there an easy way for people on foot to cross the main road. The other day I saw a woman with a kid in a pushchair heading to the Target store who was hampered time and time again trying to negotiate traffic. In the end I was forced to stop my vehicle out in the middle of the road - gaining the wrath of fellow drivers - so she could get across safely. This whole complex has not been built for pedestrians, even though it was built in the middle of a residential neighborhood. We try and shop at any of the stores - not that there's many to worry about - as little as possible. EDITED 1/10/12 TO ADD:- Well, obviously the Pavilion Parkway complex HAS encountered several vehicle accidents since its opening because they have now installed 3/4-way stop signs at the primary entrance/exits. This does seem to alleviate some of the problems, although my own experience is that some drivers tend to ignore those signs and STILL don't stop on the through road, so continue to be wary! read more

I'm updating my review for the Newport Kroger Marketplace...and I'm sorry to say it isn't an improvement. I ran over to this location on my lunch hour from Covington so that I could get some items for dinner at my in-laws. I also thought since I was going to be shopping over lunch, that I might as well get something to eat in the deli line. So...it's Wednesday and this place is literally crawling with people and activity. The "chef" stalls were active, samples everywhere (like it was Saturday) . That's not a bad thing, I can eat my weight in cheese cubes and chips and dips, but it doesn't make for an efficient trip because it's not just ME eating my weight in cheese, it's a lot of folks. I ordered a sandwich from a woman behind the counter making what appeared to be a catered sandwich tray. She was pleasant, but you could tell that she was busy, so the pleasantries were minimal. When I went to the register to pay, there was noone there...but I did notice that there were about....5 people standing around in the back, chit chatting, most of them in "chefs" coats. A female (in a chef's coat) asked me if she could help and I advised that I wanted to pay....and then she gave really dark, ugly stares to the women making the sandwich trays and didn't move an inch--later I saw one of the "chefs" ringing someone out, so I'm fairly certain she could have done it, but she seemed very self important. One of the ladies (who was actually WORKING) came over to ring me up and I went on about my business of attempting to navigate this very ill planned store. Unlike the other Kroger Marketplace stores, where the pasta and Italian sauces are in or located near the "International" foods, the pasta and sauce in this store are mixed in with cookies and snack crackers. Because that makes the most sense. I spent 5 extra minutes reading signs to direct me to the pasta. When I finally got the pasta/sauce? Stockboys. 3 of them, to be exact. Never speaking, but standing completely in the way so that you can't possibly reach passed them, whirling around you with crates of sauce, etc, setting them down to your left, right, behind so you end up almost tripping. I swear, this store is SO off my list. I'd rather pay more and go across the street to Remke! read more

This Kroger Marketplace is a beast. Sometimes, too much of a beast! They sell everything from produce, to table linens, to decorative bathroom accessories. You name it, this Kroger probably has it. Actually my sister and I make jokes when we can't find something, we immediately ask, "Did you check Kroger?" The produce is always fresh! And I have a love/hate relationship with their deli ordering station. YES! If you didn't know when you walk in you can order from this nifty little machine that will get sent to the deli folks and they will have your order waiting for you when you are done shopping. Great in theory, horrible in execution! Every time we have used this it has actually taken longer to get our order, and seriously I shop for at least an hour. Another tip: avoid this place like the plague on Sundays unless you want to punch a baby. But overall a great Kroger, and one of the biggest for sure! read more

This is my Kroger. It is one of the new marketplaces and has a bit of a mega store feel. However, while they sell housewares and such, it is still primarily a grocery store, a decent one at that. They are missing a few items I enjoy but generally carry everything I need/want. I also find the pharmacy to be very good. It's nice dropping off a script and shopping while they fill it. A few tips. Don't go on Sunday! It's soooo busy! I'd rather go hungry! Use your Kroger gas points here, you can use more than 10 cents at a time. Check the meat at the deli, I've gotten dry, skanky slices more than once. Drink Big K, it's so good! Ha! read more

This used to be a great store! However, not any more. Yesterday I waited with two other people at the bakery and we were all totally ignored. So I asked Pam if there was anyone to wait on me and she told me she'd be with me shortly. She finished up what she was doing and waited on me. It was fairly obvious she wasn't too happy about it. The man who was waiting saw another employee walk around the counter with a cart of breads she was going to put on the shelves and he asked her if she could decorate the big cookie he was holding with someone's name on it. (He had been waiting quite awhile as well). She didn't seem terribly happy about it either! The deli is always the same way. You wait to be waited on and then they give you an attitude if you dare ask a question about anything. Currently the store is in disarray as they are remodeling or something but the deli and bakery have always been like that. I'm not sure if it's new management or what but the employees are unhappy and rude! I guess I'll go back to Whole Foods. Kroger needs to figure this out though because eventually people will figure out other options. I'm buying more and more from Amazon... read more

The Newport Pavillion Kroger Marketplace is another one of those enormous Krogers that sells jewlery and coffee tables alongside bananas and lobsters. The produce section has disappointed me a few times. The last time I was there looking for garlic, I had to sift through a basket with almost no garlic left that was filled with the papery garlic skins. Nobody could just go ahead and throw that out? Bonus points: there's a liquor store not-quite-adjacent. The downside is you have to trek over there for a bottle of wine, though beer is sold in the regular grocery section. They also have a Murray's Cheese, which is another major bonus point. Unlike the mega Anderson Kroger though, there's no in-store tortilla-ria. The perfect Kroger would have a Fifth Third, a liquor store, a Murray's Cheese, AND fresh tortillas made on the spot. I'm still waiting for that Kroger. The furniture section seems to be always completely empty. I kind of wish my grocery stores would just focus on selling groceries and maybe a clove of garlic or two, but that's just me. Fantastic grocery store: it always has everything the fiancee and I want and need. The prices for food and beverages are very reasonable, the pharmacy is well-stocked, and when I need to get home furnishings, well, they sell those, too! This Kroger is a proper grocery store, so, yes, you may have to actually walk through the store for a few minutes to get what you need. It's not a quick-stop grocery, so don't expect to walk in and be faced with everything you need as though it's a 7-11. read more

One of the newest Krogers around, and they pretty much have everything you need. Large selection of fresh produce, enormous deli, sushi, cheese shop, bakery, prepared foods, ethnic food aisle, organic foods, butcher and seafood (though i dont know how often they get their seafood in). They have a large beer selection in store, and a liquor store with everything else next door. My only complaint is that i wish they'd carry cavatappi, watercress or broccoli rabe (1st world problems!) It's a possibility that they carry them, but i just overlooked them b/c the store is huge and there's already a giant selection of everything. Some of their more speciality items can also be a little overpriced, $5 for a ball of fresh mozzarella is about $2 too much. They also sling furniture, jewelry, books and other stuff that may or may not interest you. Basically they have everything you'll ever need if you're making anything from Apple Pie to baked Ziti. 3.5 stars gets bumped to 4 read more

I have a love-hate relationship with the Newport Kroger Marketplace. On one hand...they have EVERYTHING. I mean it...furniture, air filters, bookcases, fine jewelry, a pharmacy, dishes, a Starbucks, groceries, a little health clinic (supposedly--the place is so darn big I wandered around looking for the clinic for 15 minutes and finally gave up). So, while I can't see myself ever buying jewelry there, or a sofa--it's nice to know that if I need a replacement coffee carafe or know it's there. And on the grocery side--they have a fantastic deli and wide, well-stocked and well-lit aisles...so I know most anything I want will be there. For those of you in the suburbs, that might seem like a no-brainer...but the closest Kroger to me in OTR doesn't really have much of what I regularly need, unless I need hot sauce or white bread or processed food (that's another rant I'll save for later). On the other hand...all this convenience comes at a price: it's not convenient. There is no such thing as "just running in to grab ___". If you go here, it's a LEAST a 20-30 minute endeavor once you hit the parking lot. The sheer amount of space you have to cover to get anything is exhausting. I'd rather go without than to go there for just one or two things (especially milk--that's about 3.2 miles from the entrance). But on the whole...though I'd rather shop at Findlay, if I need stuff that Kroger sells, this is a pretty excellent one. And, now there is a Target next door--you can take care of business all at once! read more

This Kroger is one of the best in the Cincinnati/Northern KY area. However, the worst part of this store is the parking lot and surrounding streets. Stay alert and watch out for all the crazy bread and milk shoppers driving at 40mph through the parking lot to snag a spot close to the door. This store recently added clothes and whatnot that has turned it into a more Walmart/Meijer hybrid instead of a simple mega grocery store. Basically, everything you could want under one roof is available (except wine, liquor, and beer which are in a separate building due to weird KY liquor laws.) The Starbucks inside this Kroger is almost an afterthought. It is located right by the customer service desk and not enclosed on any side so it is rather noisy and distracting. read more

I love this place. I had previously gone to the smaller older Krogers untill I found this one. This Kroger Marketplace is way way better than any smaller kroger. I spend way too much time at the cheese island. Their cheese section is staffed and you can get samples of just about anything! Also, they have a cold good bar at the cheese island which has fresh hummus, and an awesome selection of olives and other goodies. The store layout is well done and I have never seen a kroger with this much furniture for sale. You can't go wrong here. read more

My dad currently gets his groceries with the clicklist with the help of my sister-in-law who adds them to her list and then picks them up. However a few months ago when a few items where left off his list we added Kroger to our errand list. This is a big store with a large parking lot but it was difficult to find a spot near the front of the store. For a week day it was fairly busy inside the store. We got a cart and started shopping. Although I find this store a bit overwhelming in size my dad seemed to know his way around pretty well. We found the protein bars, yogurt and the 95 percent lean ground beef. The employee in the meat department was friendly and helpful. Our cashier was cheerful and efficient. You can find almost any grocery item you want here and much more. For such a large store I did not see any big differences in the produce and natural foods areas compared to the more medium size stores that I prefer except the self serve bins for choosing and weighing our own amount of specific items. Kroger Marketplace is my grocery store of choice in the Cincinnati area. That being said I still feel there are several key outages that prevent me from rating it a 5 star. I have been shopping at the market since it opened and I have noticed the selection & variety of produce has decreased over time. However, as the variety as decreased, they have increased the amount of organic selection. I also find that I have hard time locating a member of the staff that is very knowledgeable as to where specific items are located in the store. In general, I like the store layout. With the Marketplace concept Kroger sells everything. I am most appreciate that the main grocery areas are grouped together and I can avoid the other stuff. This allows be to efficiently stop in and get my groceries with ease. read more

The good thing about being flexible is that I don't feel bad about changing my mind. I was skeptical about the new Kroger, given its size and the fact that I'm a Remke girl. But it's great. Wonderful, even. I really can find everything I want, anytime. I've even found Christmas presents from there, in July. Sweet. I will say I'm still a Remke girl if I only have a few things to get and if I don't want to waste time. Remke is also generally the place I go (besides my garden) for fresh produce. But Kroger has risen to the Remke challenge, and has fine produce, pretty good meat and pretty much everything in between. Still skeptical about the Kroger card; I saved $62 dollars yesterday on $150 worth of groceries. Did they jack up the prices on stuff to make me feel like I'm a freaky bargain queen? Jury's still out. But since I practically see the store from my house, I'm lovin' it. read more

Would have given zero stars if possible. Do NOT order a cake for a special occasion from this location!! They did not have the cake I ordered for a retirement party a while back. This morning, they didn't have the Princess birthday cake that was ordered for my granddaughter's birthday party. Somehow, orders just get lost. Very disappointing, and no one there seems to care. Pretty nice Kroger. Has a wide variety of prepared foods. I travel to Newport for work and I often come here for dinner (salad bar, pizza, sushi) instead of having to go out to a restaurant alone. Can't speak much to the service as I usually don't interact with the employees but I've had nothing but good experiences here! I was the only person waiting at the Starbucks customer counter for over 2-3 minutes and the barista working was busy with another customer but however a young man with a Starbucks apron blonde hair tattoos and piercings was sitting on his butt in the cafe area blatantly ignoring the counter. I love eating organically when I can, and I am also a huge fan of trying new cheeses and produce, so Kroger marketplace is my new favorite stop. Since Jungle Jims and Whole Foods is a bit of quest in terms of distance for a NKY girl like myself, I find comfort in knowing I can go to this store and find most of the things I need when trying new recipes or just refilling the cabinets. Best of all, the fromager is extremely knowledgeable and will offer a sample of what you are viewing if you are unsure if you will like the end result. The olive bar is also great if you are into that type of thing, and the rest of the selection is typical of any other Kroger, although sometimes I can find more hard to find items like rare diet snapple flavors and the like. Prices are the norm for organic places, and yes the cheese can run a bit high but if you have been to a fromager shop you will soon decide the prices are actually quite reasonable in comparison. This is also a great store for those who have special dietary needs, such as gluten free/dairy free/weight loss surgery/etc. as they have many foods in the organic section that will meet your needs. Did I also mention there is a sushi maker on site that makes fresh sushi each day and will prepare, to order, what you want? Ohhh yeah... :) read more

Excellent produce department chock full of fruits/veggies as you would expect. Great seafood/meat department. They do some prepared foods but I can't comment on it. Nothing flashy but definitely clean which is all I ask for. Oh and samples on the weekends. Lots and lots of samples all over the place after 10am on Saturday. They've recently expanded to included things such as clothes/furniture which is odd but is likely the result of direct competition from Meijer or Target. This location has an on-site pharmacy, jewelry store, US Bank, Wine store, gas station. As long as the shelves stay stocked and aisles clean, we're in. read more

Go very late at night if possible to avoid crowds. This is a very busy store. It's in a very congested area with lots of traffic and other stores all around so I try to go late as possible.
