They close at 4pm on Thanksgiving. I called before leaving my home and the automatic msg says they close at 4 pm. I knew exactly what I needed and it would be inside of the store for 2 minutes exactly. I arrived at 3:50 and the manager locked the door telling me that they were closed. No more customers are not allowed inside after 3:30. I told her that 4pm is 4pm. This makes her incompetent and poor at customer service. And this is exactly why I went from a person that grew up shopping at krogers. To a person that does less than 1% of their shopping needs with them. Her name was Elias or Celeste or something like that. When I called back at 3:59 pm, she had the nerve to tell me that she was sorry. No, I dont want to hear sorry. You are not sorry. And with so much competition in the area. I can see exacrly how companies lose marker share and eventually fold. There are a lot of formerly big store chains no longer in this area read more

I was in the area and needed some medication and other items, so I stopped in here. They have a very large selection of supplements and OTC medicines. Checking out via self-checkout was easy. This was a decent shopping experience. read more

Kroger has skyrocketed to the top of my preferred grocery chains list since transplanting to the south. I've averaged one visit a week in the past month, and that's pretty huge for someone like me who loathes food shopping. But this place is awesome! The layout is nice and open, and the aisles don't feel cramped like at some other markets. The deli counter is always snappy, and they offer a bunch of Boar's Head meats and cheeses. Plus they have Ukrops baked goods, and I've finally tried the rainbow cookies as of today. Wow, wow, and more wow. Upcoming cookie addict right here! The pharmacy is great too. I haven't had prescriptions filled there, but they did help me find iron supplements (they were behind the counter) and even ordered my Muro 128 eye ointment so I could pick it up the next day. I'm not a planner but I rely on that stuff for my eyeball's wellbeing, so their efficiency was SUPER appreciated. I've learned the layout now, and it feels like I've been shopping at Kroger for years rather than months. One thing I'll note is that the time I picked up the Muro, the checkout lines were insane. I was relieved when I could pay for the ointment and a few other groceries at the pharmacy. Otherwise, that would've been a long wait! The other times I haven't had issues with checking out. I do now know they prefer paper bags to plastic, so I'll just choose them when given the option moving forward. read more

I'm really not sure where all the complaints are coming from for this Kroger. I don't recommend coming to shop on a weeknight between 5:00-6:00pm because that is when it's at its busiest, but even then I can always find a parking spot no more than halfway down the parking lot and check out in reasonable time. I've never had any issue with products being out of stock or bad service. Prices are competitive if not lower than all the other grocery options in the area, including Walmart and Target, without needing to brave Short Pump traffic. There's a large produce section, deli, prepared foods, and bakery as well as all the regular canned, packaged, and dairy, and household products you'd expect. If you go towards the left hand back part of the store near milk and eggs you can find half-priced fresh baked bread and pastries approaching their sell-by date, and they're always good for a least another week. The prepared food, including rotisserie chicken, comfort food sides, and even sushi are very high quality for a grocery store. I'll be moving soon and I still plan to come to this store. read more

Failure of a re grand opening. Let's start with dirty store, rude employees, bad veggies, and many products not having barcodes. Self check out guy snatched a potato from me and told me to go clear across the store to get another because the label and bqrcode was missing from it as it was a single wrap potato. He could of took 1min to key it in but said no. NONE of those potatoes had barcodes but some how that was my Fn fault. Back to publix I go. Atleast they don't hover over you and have self checkout cameras to ensure your not stealing because you scanned to fast.... now when you scan to fast like a box of cereal an alarm on the screen goes off and shows you a recording like your a criminal. I usually go there at least five times a week because everything is easy to find for me. Since 2018 this Kroger is my everyday shop store. There was no doubt that this store has the worst employees in the seafood section. Most of them are very rude. sometimes they refuse to sell products. If they don't like your face they will not come to you immediately. They keep you waiting and show a weird attitude so that you leave. If you don't leave they will come to you after a while and say I'm busy with inventory or something so I can't help you at this time though it is still open. self-checkout also has problems. They are totally not helpful. read more

Kroger generic sudafed out of stock, yet another example of this store being poorly stocked with common items. Employee proceeded to explain that it was in high demand right now... well that is why the store should order more to meet the demand. The cards on the shelf that you have to take to the pharmacy to pick up the sudafed should match the available stock. There were at least 5 cards for the generic out on the shelf - it doesn't make sense for the customer to pick up the card expecting they would have it in stock only to find out they don't. 1/2/17: not only do they run out of grocery stock, they don't even have paper bags for the groceries! read more

I had a craving for some chicken salad and krogers salad bar always has some rotisserie chicken salad that is tasty and delicious... Well.. That wasnt exactly the case today... I almost left upset when I didnt see it on the bar... But as luck would have it.. They had it in the cold case already in containers... The day was saved!!! I grabbed some stacys pita chips to eat it on and a arnold palmer iced tea and drove home as fast as I could to enjoy my lunch.. Lo and behold... It was exactly what I hoped for... Sooo good... Since mid-March, the staff at the Kroger at 9840 W. Broad have been attentive and courteous. Shopping carts are being sanitized each time as I enter the store. The checkout belt is cleaned between each customer. Store staff are wearing masks. This has not been my experience at other Krogers. when I've used on-line shopping, staff have been timely and attentive. Selection of fresh produce hasn't gone well, but otherwise my order has been complete. I commend the manager and his staff for their work to keep the customers safe. I will continue to shop regularly at this store. read more

It's definitely an older store and I'm used to the Staples Mill Road location, but it has everything you need, the employees were nice, and the store was clean. After a couple of stores closed near me I decided to give Kroger a try; this particular Kroger. I have never had a more poor experience shopping in my life. Everything seems to be expired and if you do not check you'll get it home and you'll find out it's been expired for days if not weeks. They don't seem to have most major brands and you definitely do not want to try any Kroger brand. My recommendation would be to drive at least 50 to 100 miles out of your way instead of going into that disgusting shit hole. I am so tired of buying expired food items and I don't have time to take them back but now I'm going to make a point now I will be returning $15 worth of merchandise I Purchased from there. Understaffed, shelves are always bare, poor selection of meats (assuming there's anything on the shelf), the produce is very hit or miss. Crowded anytime you go there. Doesn't matter the time or day. I typically enjoy going to Kroger, especially this location. However I feel incredibly unsafe going to Kroger these days and seeing a large section of Kroger being set up like a bar--every seat filled, no space between tables, everyone maskless. I don't understand how or why this is allowed. There are plenty of open bars available to people who want to enjoy that. People who want to shop for groceries shouldn't have to be subjected to the danger of infection these bar settings cause. There are plenty of other grocery stores that have drinking areas set up that aren't in use currently because those grocery stores respect the fact that we're living through a pandemic. I'm Incredibly disappointed that Kroger has decided that safety isn't a priority to its grocery shoppers. read more

Kroger always has a good variety and competitive prices. I am a particular fan of the vegetarian section. Their produce at this location is limited however and the food in other aisles seems extremely picked over. I have had to go to Martins or Walmart to get everything on my grocery list simply because they didn't have it in stock or what they do have was the last of the bunch that no one wanted. For example, I went out for baking items the week of Christmas and everything was gone. No white chocolate, no sprinkles, only gel icing left. Idk if they just aren't anticipating the needs well but this has happened to me several times now. But other than that it's a very large store with a friendly staff. read more

Been shopping here for a long time and it has gotten progressively worse, with the exception of the Customer Service desk and pharmacy. I was over there yesterday and it was the final straw. I got most of what I needed, but trying to dodge store personnel got frustrating. Narrow aisles and the employees were always in the way. Stocking should be done after hours or at a time with few customers. Adding to that, Something I buy on a regular basis, the 8 pack of the store brand of Slim Fast, called Slim Rite that I like better, was no longer on the shelf. The Final straw was at check out. There was one woman in front of me ( at the time only two lanes were open ). She unloaded her cart and the guy scanned her items and I had put all my refrigerated and frozen stuff on the conveyor as that was all the room there was at the time. It never moved. Her stuff had been scanned and she had paid, but nothing was bagged ( No Baggers ). Next thing I know, the Cashier is gone and I asked where he went and nobody really seemed to know. He comes back and piddles around some more. My stuff is getting warm and thawing out in the meanwhile and the cashier is completely oblivious that there is some one else in line. While I was loading stuff on the conveyor, a girl came out and opened another line which she has done before when things needed it. I know and have dealt with here and the other guy and like the both of them. They have been there for some time and do a very good job. I am standing there waiting and the cashier is doing I don't know what, but what he wasn't doing was bagging that lady's stuff and getting her out. I blame the total lack of any competent management for this sorry state of affairs. If there is a manager they are sitting somewhere well out of sight on their sorry dead ass and doing nothing. I have been in retail management and you can't manage sitting on your ass in an office in the back somewhere. You have to be on the floor where the customers can see you and where you can observe what is going on. In all My years of shopping there I have only seen a manager once or maybe twice, I think. It took them a long time to finally get rid of a Deli employee that should have been gone a lot sooner. She was just plain lazy and just putting in time on the clock without really doing anything. I do like the Pharmacy and they have really gone all out to help save money on prescriptions. The girl at the Customer Service desk is also very good, although I don't deal with her all that much. Getting in and out of this location feels like an accident waiting to happen. Not only is the traffic light busy but there are too many blind spots. Also this place doesn't come close to the other locations within 5-8 miles. It needs some renovations or just a rebuild. The customer service is good but the professionalism of some of the staff needs work. The produce, seafood, and meats are a let down. The only thing I like about this place is if I'm at SAM's club and I don't want to buy too much of something I can go to Kroger. But I really think hard about going to this one. read more

Went here today to pick up some fresh produce and I must say their prices are a little up there but I'm sure they have some things cheaper than other grocery stores, I'm just to lazy to bargain hunt. Also I used to think martins/ ukrops had the best birthday cakes but I have recently discovered what is now my new go-to place for last minute baked goods! Had the worst grocery experience of my life yesterday. There was a man walking around the store asking people to pay for his groceries. At the register, I politely asked for the manager. As I was waiting for the manager, I saw the guy and pointed him out. At least four other customers in line said they had experienced the same thing. When the manager (Mike) arrived, he proceeded to tell me that I was as much in the wrong as the guy walking around the store soliciting customers. Short of an apology, I will NEVER return to this store at 9480 W. Broad St. I would encourage anyone I know to avoid this place. The physical plant of this particular Kroger needs work, it always feels a little dirty in there (bad lighting?). But what makes it a good spot are the employees. They are the best, always with a smile and a good attitude. Special shout out to Sal and the two guys who are always working in the frozen foods -- three gentlemen who make shopping here a pleasure. Sal does the coffee and cake on Tuesday mornings and he makes each customer feel special and welcomed. You guys rock! read more

The entrance to the store is narrow. It barely fits the shopping cart to get into the store. Getting out of the parking lot can also be a challenge since this Kroger is right next to a Sam's club. Other than that, this feels like any other Kroger. Large selection with very reasonable prices. read more

One star is being generous. This store has gone way downhill in the past several years. There is absolutely no attention to small details here as the store is constantly in disarray and messy. I don't frequent this store, but when I do it is usually out of common items. Additionally, lines are ridiculously long and slow moving. This is not the place to shop with kids as I've seen numerous times kids going off the deep end waiting to check out. My last experience was the icing on the cake: the cashier in my line left to go help a customer, leaving the bagger just chilling there. He's nowhere to be found for 5 minutes. He comes back, asks someone else to help the customer, but then gets interrupted by the cashier in the next lane asking for his assistance. He leaves again. So yea, disarray. Another experience was with garlic bread in the frozen aisle. Got home and was ready to take it out when the whole loaf fell right out. Wish I had realized when I bought it that one end was already cut open. How do I know it was cut? The cut was perfect, not torn. How could this be like this? Like, another customer opened and returned it and was restocked? Certainly I'm making an assumption, but that's trifling! Anyway, glad there's competition nearby. read more
