Poor customer service!! They sold me a 1/2 gallon of milk that came out in chunks when I opened…read moreit. They refused to replace it saying that they don't know that the milk was bad when it left their store. The manager, Tim, said that I just needed to buy another 1/2 gallon of milk. The milk had an expiration date of 7/30/19. I bought it on 7/21/19 and opened it on 7/22/19. This is no way to run a business.

I would give them fine stars, but they lose one because the last time I was in there the man I presume to be the owner yelled at one of the sweet Mennonite young ladies who work there. I was standing well behind the counter looking at the menu. He yells at her thinking she's slacking and holding me up. I was simply taking my time choosing my lunch. Besides, he shouldn't be screaming at his help for any reason. They are sweet Mennonite Amish, for the most part, and are always a delight to talk to. Shame on him for treating them in that way. If I ever see him yell at them again, he surely will lose a customer.

We picked up some essentials along with a locally made jun kombucha and almond butter. Definitely adding this to our route for all future journeys to Michigan. First bite had everyone spitting it out in their napkins! It has a very peculiar and nasty taste so no one ate it. Returned to the store and was told that there would be no refund since it was bought on Thursday and not prepared til Saturday. Then she added that it was cut on Monday and should have been used sooner. She told me to take it with me since they didn't have a way to get rid of it. I told her it was HER problem and walked out. We believe to shop in our hometown and support small, independent businesses. This was a $15 lesson and a ruined family meal.

They post their sales flyer on their Facebook page each week. I came in wanting to purchase some steaks that were on sale. Based on how low the per pound price was, I wasn't expecting much. But the steaks were lean and looked really great. They have a large selection of Amish prepared foods. Lots of jellies, etc. I also was impressed with the large number of Walnut Creek spice blends they offered. I can't wait to try them. The store was very neat and well laid out. I was warmly greeted by every single employee. I will definitely be back soon.
