WHYYY DOES THIS PLACE HAVE TO BE IN INDIANA?? We live in Minnesota. We were on a trip when I saw a billboard for this place. I was hungry for something not greasy fast food, and was drawn to the idea of snagging a deli sandwich while here. I did not expect the sheer incredible variety of food goods available here. Every aisle we browsed was like an exclamation of pointing and going "ooh!" I wanted to buy SO MUCH absolutely delicious looking stuff (especially the fruit-topped cheesecakes, pastries, and cookies... drool), as well as the various ingredients and spices and sauces and pickled veg. They had a huge pop-it-yourself popcorn selection, for example. Tons of pasta shapes. Even milk of many flavors in reusable glass (if only the world could go back to that sustainable model!). The worst part is, I only got a couple things, fully intending to stop again on our way back to Minnesota. But we left for home Sunday, when it wasn't open. It was a foolish error on my part indeed, one which I will likely never live down (until we come back out this way, and you can bet your ass I'll drop at least a hundo in here, maybe two!). The sandwich, which I did get, was quite large and I ate half then, half later. It was cool and yummy, and I appreciated the many options of bread and meats to choose from. I also grabbed a fancy bottled soda. They have an indoor seating area so you can munch inside, or there's tons of outdoor seating as well, because they have lots of their pieces on display for you to custom order! I legit wanted to buy one of their loveseat swings (complete with a fold-out cupholder in the center). They had a lot of color options available, many quite vibrant! Besides many varieties of furniture (made of reclaimed plastics in tons of fun colors), they also sell whole-ass sheds and barns and stuff. Genuinely cool. I can't lie, I'm pretty tempted to somehow get one of their loveseat style porch swings (they even come with a fold-down cupholder). Fun decor on the inside like taxidermy, with a high ceiling and wall art. The bathroom is in the back (it was a bit difficult for me to locate at first) and was clean. All the employees were friendly and helpful. I'd probably shop here weekly if I lived nearby, so it's a real shame it's nearly nine hours away! read more

It's a great store with fair prices. The handmade sandwiches are out of this world good, and the selection of groceries is impressive. The staff is enjoyable and always so helpful. I would give them fine stars, but they lose one because the last time I was in there the man I presume to be the owner yelled at one of the sweet Mennonite young ladies who work there. I was standing well behind the counter looking at the menu. He yells at her thinking she's slacking and holding me up. I was simply taking my time choosing my lunch. Besides, he shouldn't be screaming at his help for any reason. They are sweet Mennonite Amish, for the most part, and are always a delight to talk to. Shame on him for treating them in that way. If I ever see him yell at them again, he surely will lose a customer. read more

Wow! What a fun stop on the drive home from Michigan. Thanks to everyone for the reviews and photos that led us here. This Amish store offers a variety of produce, cheese, bulk food items, Bob's Red Mill flours and grains, kombucha, frozen meats and more. We picked up some essentials along with a locally made jun kombucha and almond butter. Definitely adding this to our route for all future journeys to Michigan. They also sell a variety of carpentry items like benches, swings and sheds. There is a nice eating area off to the side for made to order lunch sandwiches and ice cream treats. read more

On a stretch of highway with seemingly endless options for fast food, this was something different! I stopped in when I was solo road tripping to and from Grand Rapids, Michigan from Indianapolis. I needed a lunch stop where I could also stretch my legs. I had seen signs for harassment food, and decided to give it a try! It was only about a two minute drive off the highway. I'm very much worth it! Here's what I loved: -Super clean bathroom -- it's a one-stall situation. So don't stop w/a bus load of people! -Aisles and aisles of local food, with several other brands peppered in. -Fresh baked goods that looked sooo good! -Delicious, large, freshly made deli sandwiches with nearly every type of meat, cheese, and condiment under the sun, including fresh veggies. I ate mine in the car, thinking that this was exactly the type of sandwich my grandma would've made... generous amount of toppings, and a great deal of precision. -So many fresh cheese options! - Lots of seating outdoors - Plenty of non-food merch to purchase (whisks, spatulas, etc) - A big ol' parking lot to walk around in if you need to stretch your legs or walk a dog. - Really good looking ice cream! -A huge selection of bulk grains, seeds, etc for you homesteaders :) I will be back. We drive from Michigan to Indiana every Christmas, and finally got to stop here for lunch after they got raves from relatives. Its a very cute place run by the Amish, off US 31 in the middle of nowhere, lots to like! It reminds me a bit of Cracker Barrel, you can buy things in the store section, baked goods, jams, etc. The deli counter is where you order up your Deli sandwich, prepared with care by young Amish ladies wearing proper attire. I had a Deli Roast Beef on homemade Wheat Bread with pepperjack cheese, chipotle sauce, and jalapenos, very good! Served with chips and a cookie if you wish. This place is the real deal, nothing franchisee about it, despite my Crackerbarrel comparison. I have to think my money spent there is supporting some Amish family/families, so I feel good about that. Check it out if you are ever out that way!! We will stop again, I am sure. read more

We decided to stop at this store after seeing all the billboards on 31N. We would have never known about this cute store without them! There was an assortment of groceries and delicious snacks. There were also fun gifts and a deli. My favorite purchase was the mint milk from local Crystal Springs Creamery! We also enjoyed the homemade soup. The employees were super nice too! This is an excellent stop when you are traveling on 31. Just a mile off the highway, well worth the slight detour. There is a deli counter where the friendly employees will make a sandwich to your order with homemade bread and your choice of meats, cheeses, toppings, and condiments. You can also order a salad, they will make it fresh with your choice of ingredients. You can shop for homemade breads, an assortment of cookies, candies, Jams, jellies, spices, Amish cheese, pickles of all kinds, fresh produce, farm fresh eggs, and many other items. One of my favorites is the Buckeye candy- a delicious chocolate peanut butter confection. There is even a variety of gluten free products. Employees are super friendly and helpful. 5 Stars are not enough Stars. Harvest Moon Deli made the best Ham sandwich I ever tasted in my 72 years! My sandwich was on amazing Sour Dough Bread with real horseradish and loaded with Ham for only $6.49. So Good. Harvest Moon didn't have any Indiana Sweet Corn so they directed us to a small Amish Produce Stand. It was only 1/2 mile north of Harvest Moon and on the same road. All their produce was natural and fresh picked that morning. Yummy! I never realized Rochester Indiana had a sizeable Old Order Amish Community. My next trip to that area of the world will include a side trip to Harvest Moon and an un-named small produce stand. read more

This little hidden gem was a short jaunt off highway 31. We stopped in for a quick lunch. The food was fresh and delicious and very affordable. We had a ham sandwich on sourdough bread. It came with chips and a cookie for $8.95. You get to choose your meat, cheese and bread. Chips are either plan or bbq. We had one chocolate chip cookie and one white chocolate macadamia nut. If we come back through this area again we will definitely stop. Sure beats fast food! read more

While heading north on State Road 31, if you're tired of the same old same old eateries, like I was, here's the place. Freshest salad I've had to date, combined with courteous servers and staff and a clean, well organized store to shop for all kinds of goodies to carry home or further up the road. I bought the wheat bread and chicken salad to go. My husband and I used the hotel toaster and ate the entire loaf for breakfast... lunch... in... lol, 2 days! And I'm unashamed to admit it. It was that yummy! The plan for the trip home is to stop again and... well... we'll see how greedy I get after I see all those loaves of bread. I'm thinking it will FREEZE just dandy. This is the best place to grab a sandwich from. Homemade bread sliced meats and cheese to order and fresh veggies and lots of condiment options. And if you get the boxed lunch it comes with chips and a homemade cookie there's usually a line but it is more than worth the wait. Amazing food and customer service what more could you ask for ? We have always gone to Harvest Moon for fresh produce, meats, and cheeses. They have wonderful staff and service is always amazing. There is a little delhi area where you can order sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. There is also a drink bar where you can order tea, floats, coffee, etc, along with ice cream! There is booths inside where you can eat, and you can sit on the tables/swings outside that are for sale. They also have toys, baking supplies, and a peanut butter station with ground beans for your coffee. read more

Stopped here on way to Michigan. The deli makes the best sandwiches. I had balogna and cheese. Hubby had ham and cheese. The bread is so incredibly fresh. By far best bread I have ever had at a deli. We bought some jams and the Carmel popcorn. Both delicious. Took the giant homemade cinnamon rolls to our destination and wow those were amazing. Must stop! read more

Either way, if you're on the road and hungry, I recommend taking the 2 mile track off the highway for a deli sammich instead of going to the MacDanald's or whatever down the road. This is an Amish outpost of Shipshewanna type goods, from furniture to groceries. Their hours are shorter than I'd wish and I only did it justice for 30 minutes. Their food prices are reasonable and it's a great privilege to bring their bulk products (jellies, grains, spices, powders) or their cookies & cakes, made with care, home. They sell ice cream, fresh veggies and other items. They are friendly and speak with kindness and care. read more
