A few days ago, one of the garage doors and tracking method failed. 24H Garage Doors LLC is refusing to honor the warranty, although it is only the 23rd month of a 5 year parts & labor warranty. They do not stand behind their work, and the technician that arrived to inspect the damage offhandedly said they didn't install it correctly in the first place. They were also extremely rude and disrespectful to both me and my spouse during the process of putting in a warranty claim, which they have yet to honor. I would halfway recommend them if they stood behind their work. But they do not honor their warranties, a poor business practice and a violation of the state laws of Connecticut. They also will give discounts on invoices in order for people to write 5-star reviews, so the good reviews you see online may not accurately reflect the company.

Interior design charge/work was unneeded at the end of the day. I don't need to be escorted to select tiles and lamps. They have much bigger gigs and didn't need our business for smaller rooms. Before we knew about the roof issue, we tried to engage them in further work but they said they were too busy. I suspected it was because I tried to negotiate what needed to be done because I had learned from the first experience that we didn't need all of the bells and whistles. I called Ed's and they told me they could come out to look at it, but because my home is now outside their service area (it wasn't when they installed and serviced my doors and openers in the past) there would be a travel charge of $75. I agreed and a technician was dispatched to my home to evaluate the damage. I was also charged for an hour of labor (about another $175). I was told someone would get back to me with a repair estimate but weeks went by without a response. I contacted them and I was told they would get back to me. I've waited nearly two months now and still never got a response. At the very least they could have just told me to go elsewhere for service, but instead kept me hanging. This is NOT the same company I've dealt with in the past.

He promptly and professionally repaired the door in less than 30 minutes. He noticed my other garage doors had screws missing and told me he could address the situation which would also help balance the doors. Initially I waived him off because of the coldness but he said it would only take a few minutes. In less than 20 minutes he tightened all the screws, replacing 5-10 missing screws, greased the joints and wheels, and then fixed a broken remote clicker. Upon his completion all three of my doors (one a large double door) were functioning smoothly and quietly. I was totally satisfied with his work from a quality and price perspective. BUYER BEWARE: I hired David Carr to build for 3 contracts…read more The Deck: I initially hired Mr. Carr to build me a deck. I was delayed in getting a permit to move in my new house due to continued problems with the back deck. The steps had to be torn apart and re-done because they were not built to code. First State Inspections turned it down several more times until everything was corrected (step height, railing spacing, etc). After some time, I was finally given a permit to move in; however, I was told I was not allowed to use the back deck exit, only the front entrance. He took apart the railings while he was rebuilding the steps and piled them up in the dirt in the back yard. It was a YEAR before he completed the railings. When he finally reinstalled them, they were all scratched up and stained from the dirt and stones. He would not replace them. He put the vinyl covered posts back up with new screw holes and the old holes he filled in with putty. Unbelievable!! I insisted they all be changed. He did change the vinyl post, but would not replace the scratched and stained railings. A board on the steps was not screwed back down. I did not catch this because the screw holes were there from his first attempt at building the steps. Someone fell going up the steps when the board came loose. I was lucky I wasn't sued. When he first started on my deck, it looked nice, so I hired him to build the front porch. Looking back, I wish I had waited to see this project through first because I would NOT have hired him for anything else. I kept all paperwork, including contracts, permits, inspection failures, BBB complaints, Attorney General's complaint, and a complaint with the Delaware Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
