Basically, the doctor puts a stent in her leg(s) to increase lower blood flow. Dr. Peter Lin, the cardiologist, was the doctor who performed my mom's procedure. According to my sisters, who met with him prior, including my perspective, is a wonderful doctor. The procedure lasted about 45 minutes, and the recovery was approximately two hours before getting released. Yes, my mom is an outpatient. Dr. Lin is very confident in his job... thus helps reduce my mom's fears. His equipment is up to date, and the whole office seems very clean, including the front desk. The nurses are friendly and professional, always ready to lend a helping hand to the patients. The only "whoops" I experienced at the medical office was front desk guiding me to the wrong patient resting inside a different cubicle. I didn't know either until I heard my mom talking at the other side of the recovery room. Yikes!! Well, they were all wearing masks and covered up. LoL.

The staff repeatedly gave us incorrect appointment times, made us wait for hours, and then claimed we didn't show up rather than taking accountability for losing my father's stress test results -- twice -- and then never followed through on sending him a heart monitor they said was crucial. When I called to follow up, the office manager didn't even know what I was talking about. This wasn't just inconvenient -- it was negligent. They never took accountability nor contacted us to check on him, which only reinforced how careless and uninvested they were in their patients' well-being. We've filed a formal complaint with the Medical Board of California and have been assigned an analyst for further investigation. Patients deserve care that's organized, accountable, and safe -- not chaos. If you care about your time, your health, or your loved ones, I strongly recommend finding a different cardiologist.

He appreciated how knowledgeable Dr. Sharma is and treated him for a sinus infection other doctors couldn't figure out although he was being seen for something else. I was referred to Dr. Sharma through a smattering of good luck, and my interaction with him…read moreresulted in something life changing for me. My podiatrist, Maurice Masliah, since retired, suggested at my last appointment with him that something vascular could be going to cause my recent increase in foot problems. A brief history of my chronic pain: I have suffered from chronic hypersensitivity in both feet since I was a small child. I could not stand for more than 5 minutes without burning pain in both feet. I would roll onto the sides of both feet to take the pressure off the bottoms of my feet. I was diagnosed with several things over the years, including neuromas (for which I had surgery in 1984), flat feet (various orthotics over the years), plantar fasciitis and finally mild sensory peripheral neuropathy, which resulted in my taking various SSRI medications enabling me to hike, ski, take walks, and provided me with more time on my feet before the pain would hit. Recently the pain had increased so much in my toes that I was once again, completely controlled by pain and severe discomfort. I had a 45-minute tele-call with Dr. Sharma, during which I regaled him with my lengthy (I'm in my early 60s) health history, and various treatments I had had. He suggested several tests, which I completed to rule out a rare heart condition that could have caused abnormal result in the vascular test I had done at Dr. Masliah's office. He also suggested I may also have Reynaud's in addition to the neuropathy, and he prescribed Norvasc. Within days of taking the Norvasc, the toe pain disappeared, and my overall foot pain continued to recede. We spoke again to go over the heart test, which was normal, and he suggested mild compression socks, as well as a prescription for nitro cream and Gabapentin. I haven't tried either of the latter because I am scared of the symptoms, but the compression socks and the Norvasc have been a game changer. So much so that I can now stand and have a conversation with a neighbor, outside, standing on hard pavement, for 20 minutes, without pain. I have been able to take longer hikes, and have tired achy feet, which compared to my previous pain, is like walking on air. I have suffered from this pain for 80 percent of my life. I am now 62 years old, and I have actually managed a 9.6 mile hike (working up to 12 miles!), which would have been completely unthinkable for ALL OF MY LIFE. I know this is probably not a typical review for a vascular cardiologist, but it comes from my heart (pun intended). To have been limited by chronic foot pain for 50plus years and now be able to do the things I am doing is a miracle.

Please forgive me, Doctor if I got the wrong Dr. Balacuit, but I don't think I do. It has been a long time and who really knows the first name of doctors anyway? LOL If it is him, I went to this doctor for a general yearly check up for my first visit to his office. Although this was years ago (before Yelp or the internet even), I still remember this guy. I expected him to ask me a lot of questions during this physical. He should have drawn blood, checked my prostate, checked my urine, etc.. All that was done by him was that my blood pressure was checked and he checked my chest with a stethoscope. And he checked my reflexes and shined an instrument in each ear. That was it! When I complained about it not really being a thorough enough yearly exam, I remember he asked ME what else I wanted him to do! He is the doctor. WHY should I have to tell him what to look for? And... he didn't even ask me very many questions at all. I tried to be nice, but I felt I was being cheated out of a proper yearly physical! I went to him primarily because his office was just a few blocks from house. I thought I would give him a try since my doctor was retiring. Dr. Balacuit is Filipino. I usually get along with Filipino's very well. BUT NOT WITH THIS GUY.... He had a bad attitude right from the start in my opinion, almost instantly argued with me and didn't seem to know what the heck a physical should be like. I was really upset. I only get to have ONE physical a year and this guy, I felt either didn't care about my health or he didn't know what the heck he was doing. The worst part is that he argued with me almost immediately. That is very unprofessional and uncalled for. He must have been overly sensitive back then, because he probably heard the same complaints frequently. You can go see him if you want to, but as for me, friends. Forget it! I have NO desire to go through that again. In reading the other reviews, I see now that he probably hasn't changed much, because there are a lot of the same type of complaints listed here. This was my experience. I don't know, maybe he is nicer with other patients and acts more competently. These are just my opinions and observations, which I am entitled to have. :) I hope this helps Yelps readers.

Post op 7 months now…read more I had been trying to establish post op care with a in network bariatric surgeon but it was such a big headache. I asked to get my labs checked and they couldn't even get that right. I reached out to Dr. Doraiswamy after 3 failed attempts. I explained the situation and he quickly got back to me to say not to worry, he will order labs and schedule a phone follow up to review labs. Same day, I got my telehealth appointment scheduled and labs emailed. I went to quest that weekend and got the done in preparation for my call the next week after Easter. Dr. D asked how I have been doing and reviewed the labs. B was a bit high so he recommended reducing to every other day. Vitamin A low but may choose to supplement in diet or via over the counter vitamin. We set some achievable goals with bumping up my exercise to focus on type and duration. I have another follow up call in 4 months. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. D. I am doing well 7 months post op/45 lbs down. Eating has normalized (my new norm). Occasional nausea which he explained to avoid drinking with meals. This will cause that weird funnel overflowing effect which will cause nausea. No other side effects that I have noted. This has been a very comfortable journey thus far. He has been a stellar surgeon before and after surgery. I am so happy I can still follow up with him throughout my journey to a healthier me. If you are contemplating any weight loss surgery, I continue to highly recommend Dr. D. He is the best! Also, special thanks to the office staff for being responsive and efficient with scheduling.
