I went with my sister to assist her at a LabCorp appointment which she made for 9am…read more She checked in via their mobile app even though she waited in the lobby. We noticed several people taken in who did not have appointments. She then asked about her appointment at 9am. The receptionist told her she hadn't checked in and apparently this office doesn't use the mobile app or the scanner to check in. One checks in by making face to face eye contact with the receptionist. Apparently you have to be psychic to know this as there's no signage alerting a patient to their appointment process. Fifteen minutes after her appointment time, she was called in by a woman who didn't look like she was an employee because of her ill fitting smock. The woman who took her blood appeared to have slept in her clothes. After the blood draw, my sister complained about the customer service and the phlebotomist said, "Why do you come here. Don't come back." WOW!!! Also, this location in San Pedro is not very clean and presentable and is operated by equally unprofessional and rude people. I personally use LabCorp in Pasadena and have had excellent customer service from the office in the Walgreens on Lake Avenue. In fact, on my last visit there, they could not accommodate me as a "walk-in" so they directed me to a nearby Quest office that took me in immediately. My advice to my sister is to stay away from this poorly managed and maintained LabCorp facility in San Pedro and try Quest or drive to Torrance for better service. I can't imagine having rude and unfriendly people sticking a needle in my arm.

[Cons]: * No easy freeway access to this location and San Pedro is fairly off the way for most of the South Bay residents. [Conclusion]: Honestly I wouldn't mind driving out of my way to this location if I need more future blood draws.

I normally hate when I have to do lab work, but for my health and well being, I know it must be done. This office on 3440 Lomita, Torrance always complete my lab work with no problems. However, I had lab work completed today and the person who completed my lab work was the best I have ever had since I have been having to do lab work. She did it with ease and I felt nothing!!! I normally do not write reviews but I was so amazed at her expertise. She talk to me and made me feel real comfortable. I guess she notice that I was afraid. I was still waiting for her to put the needle in my vein until I look at my arm and seem she had already completed one tube and was on the second tube. She was awesome!! I wish I could get her every time I go but she assure me that all the ones who work in this office was great. Her name was Diane F. Well, I don't know if I am going to get Mrs. Diane F again, but I am going to really try to get her. If I don't get her next time, at least I know I will be comfortable in getting my lab work at this branch. She will definitely be on my "Christmas list". Also the receptionist at the front desk was very nice. Well, this is my Place from now on. N.C.

I had an appointment and no one told me that I had to pull out a QR code if I had an appointment only until after I waited 40 mins just to get a routine blood draw. They need to have a better system in place. There was a lady that told me I was on the list for the appointment--NO MENTION AT ALL about a QR code. When I approached the front desk lady after I had waited, she then told me about the QR code. All the meanwhile they have a stapled list of names of people with appointments. Ridiculous. They really need to give better instructions to their patients.

After waiting more than two hours, my husband was turned away without having his blood drawn because they claimed our medical insurance was inactive. That information was completely incorrect. I had seen the doctor the day before, had my blood drawn, and even picked up my prescribed medication using the very same insurance. I immediately called our insurance company, and they confirmed our coverage was active. Instead of taking a few minutes to verify the information with the insurance provider, the staff simply told my husband his insurance was inactive and sent him away. My husband even explained that I was outside and could have clarified the situation immediately, but no one made any effort to help. Now we have to return and go through the process all over again. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this location. The office appeared to have only three employees, and while I understand staffing challenges, the lack of organization, poor communication, and unhelpful attitudes made for a very frustrating experience. Patients deserve better customer service, better time management, and staff who are willing to verify information before denying care.

Don't rely on the doctor FAXing the orders to the lab. There is no front office staff so the fax just gets clogged with all the orders. Best is to bring in hard copies for them to process. You receive a text with a link the morning of your appointment. Once you arrive, you select the link and you are checked it. It alerts the technicians and they come out to get you. The electronic board shows up the number of people ahead of you. Those with appointments are prioritized. Very efficient, simple and easy. Great hours of availability but the early morning hours are the best. Ok, bye.
