It was not supposed to be such a BEAUTIFUL DAY, according to the weather forecasters…read more We got there as one was boarding, and getting full. We decided to wait 20 Minutes. We started about 9:30 AM, and our first Guide, NAMED JACK. He had been a disaster/guide for some 10 Years. He was very, very good. When we walked on, there were two orange cones on the two front seats. We had waited to sit in the front seat!!! As we boarded, JACK just sat on the benches, not noticing my walker!!! I finally got the front seat, but my partner stayed seated behind me. GUIDE JACK took us as far as Seaport Village, but interesting enough, at the stop before, he had us all share our stories. NICE TOUCH. We wanted bagels at SPILL THE BEANS, but at 10 AM they were OUT OF BAGELS. Ridiculous. I don't remember the name of the Driver/Guide, who took us from Seaport Village to Coronado. In Coronado, we walked to the Hotel del Coronado. I first used the RR, beautiful white marble. I then took the metal elevator in the lobby to the Second Floor, and went out the balcony. We, My Partner and I, met up again the INTERIOR COURTYARD. We left the hotel to walk to GELATO PARADISO on Orange Avenue. On the way there, we saw the famous L FRANK BAUM HOUSE, the writer of the Wizard of Oz. It is a yellow house. UNFORTUNATELY, they did not know how to use the COUPON in the OT Trolley Brochure. Other than that, the GELATO WAS DELICIOUS!!! I had Raspberry and Lemon. We took the OT Trolley back to Old Town. We had one last Driver/Guide, NAMED LUIS. He was very thorough, but very matter of fact. We returned to OLD TOWN, 2 Hours after BEGINNING!!!

It really is a great way to get a lot of information about the city. The trolley is hop on/hop off - which means that they stop so that you can get off the train and go do whatever. It probably stops anywhere you want to go anyway (Balboa Park/Zoo, Coronado, and even the Midway), so you might as well do it on a guided tour! These tours are all professionally done and the drivers are safe and friendly. They've got daytime tours and evening tours - in San Diego, they've got SEAL tours and night time City Lights and Ghosts and Gravestones tours. We did the Holiday Lights tour a couple of years ago (the *only* thing I didn't like about that is that it was a sing-a-long, but that made my sister happy so it made me happy). I highly recommend the Trolley Tours! Thank you for reading my review.

After a quick and easy walk through customs, Uncle Jose met us right across the street and got the day started smoothly. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel comfortable right away. He guided us through a mix of local shops and restaurants, then gave us the flexibility to visit the spots we specifically wanted. We made our way to Puerto Nuevo for lobster, which absolutely lived up to the hype, and of course stopped at Restaurante Caesar's--the birthplace of the Caesar salad--which was a highlight of the trip. Uncle Jose took great care of us throughout the day and made the experience easy and enjoyable. If you are able to walk across the border and walk back or take a $10 shuttle back into the US, ask for Uncle Jose a warm and knowledgeable local that will take great care of you. Highly recommended if you're looking for a fun, safe and stress-free Baja adventure!

From the moment we met him, we felt SO safe, taken care of, and genuinely welcomed. West's kindness, professionalism, and deep love for the area and its people truly stood out. He was always ready with helpful tips, local recommendations, and a warm smile--not just for us, but for everyone we came across. He went above and beyond in so many ways: arranging an extra driver to help with our luggage, assisting with last-minute errands, and even being our unofficial group photographer before events. Traveling somewhere unfamiliar can be a little nerve-wracking, but knowing West would be there to drop us off and pick us up made us feel so much more comfortable. His presence gave us peace of mind, and we were able to enjoy ourselves fully knowing we were in such good hands. If you're looking for someone trustworthy, kind, and incredibly reliable, West is your guy. We're so grateful for everything he did for us and would recommend him a thousand times over!

I can't remember her name but she was an older lady who have done tours for many years with other companies before. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to assist with almost everything. Personally, it was just for experience for me so I can say I've been to Tijuana. There's nothing to do and not much to see other than statues. If you want to see what's across the boarder, I think this would be a great experience. The shops that they recommended did do nothing for me. Dusty leathered goods and a pushy sales woman which I can honestly respect. I enjoyed my 2 authentic tacos that was included in the tour fee and I purchase a margarita. Sadly, I found an elderly woman hair in one of my corn tortillas that I bit into. other than that, everything was good. Be mindful I said good not great

I visited San Diego for the first time at the end of March with my boyfriend. Since we just had a…read morelong weekend scheduled there, we wanted to maximize our time to sightsee as much as possible. I found the scenic tour through San Diego Ride & Tours on TripAdvisor and booked it for Friday, March 27, about a month in advance. The cost at the time was roughly $80pp. The meeting spot was about a 10-minute walk from our hotel, which was convenient. Our mini van was full and the group was a great mix of friendly folks from around the country. Jim was our tour guide, and my boyfriend was so pleased that he bought his book online when we got home. He was genuinely interesting to listen to and is definitely in the right field. The tour took us through Little Italy, past expensive homes on a hill, to La Jolla's Children Pool where we saw seals. We spent about 12 minutes there before heading to Mt. Soledad for some pretty views. We spent about 12 minutes there as well. From there, we traveled to Old Town San Diego for a quick visit - again less than 15 minutes, which permitted time to do some light shopping and that was all. We drove past allegedly the most haunted home in America as well as Heritage Park's Victorians. After that, we headed to Balboa Park. I think we had maybe 15 minutes there, which was just long enough to know I wanted to return on my own (which we did - multiple times). From there, we went to Coronado Island. I think we had 20 minutes tops there, which provided time to see the Hotel Del quickly as well as the beach and some famous folks' homes. We passed by the Gaslamp Quarter and some cool murals on the way back to the meeting spot. Traffic did impede our times at each spot. On TripAdvisor, it said the stops would be longer - La Jolla - 20 mins, Old Town and Balboa - 25 mins each, Coronado - 30 minutes. Since all of us on the tour mentioned not having set plans afterward, I wish we could've gotten slightly closer to those times as it did feel rushed to me. I think they should add a disclaimer on TripAdvisor explaining that times at each location will be cut if there's traffic. Another reason why I docked a star is that the tour was advertised as having waters and snacks included. One bottle of water was provided once the others on the tour asked about it. In terms of snacks, Jim plucked some fruit off a tree for us in Old Town. It was tasty but I guess I was expecting more in way of snacks. All in all, I had a really good time and was able to see more in a couple of hours than I would've been able to see on my own. For that, the tour was worth it.

Not only that, Roxane went above and beyond to help my wife and I choose a romantic spot for our wedding anniversary dinner. After speaking with Roxane, and all she knew about the city, we ended up changing our hotel reservations!!! The new hotel we stayed at based on her recommendations was above and beyond! Thank you so much Roxane for making our trip to San Diego an unforgettable experience! XOXO ~ Mike and Michelle
