He sells the red and white Fairport sweatshirts that everyone in town has, but he also sells new-old-stock clothing, shoes and accessories. He's a salesman from another time, he will often compare his prices to Sibley's, McCurdy's and B. Forman Co. Any Rochesterian would know that those department stores have long since closed... Not Mr. Barranco, those stores are still the major players in the Rochester area and he's doing a service to you by offering his items at such low prices... (which they are). I'm amazed at how he has managed to stay in business for so long. I'd go on about all the great treasures you can find here, but you're just going to have to see it for yourself; it's a total time capsule. For many years, he didn't have a card machine. Since he was cash only, I remember trying to explain to Mr. Barranco that I had to run to the ATM. He was confused and said "the bank isn't open on Saturdays." He was concerned that I was not going to be able to withdraw the money from my account. On a recent visit, I was surprised to hear that his older register broke down and somebody sent him into the 21st century. He now accepts cards, but it takes him awhile to figure out all the space age technology before him. I love this place, he seems to have an endless source of great vintage clothing and his prices can't be beat! Every visit I make to Fairport is accompanied by a requisite visit to Barranco's.

They only supply a few versions/sizes of each piece, which is nice since it feels like you're getting a one-of-a-kind piece. The space is attached to Thimble Tailor so during busy hours (post-work) the changing room can get crowded with folks trying on their own clothes to get tailored and others trying on clothes from the boutique as there are only four changing rooms. It wasn't bad, just some people had to wait. Most of the brands were new to me, but Fatima hand picks what's featured in the store so I trust. Also, they're beautiful, quality made clothes so it's nice to add some newbie items to my wardrobe. It's a lot of gorgeous flowy tops, knit sweaters, great tailored jeans/pants, patterned skirts and dresses. A good mix of classic, but trendy items plus some professional wear, along with jewelry, clutches, and handbags. I keep tabs on their Instagram for new items in stock and pop over when something grabs my attention.

They didn't have exactly what I was looking for, but I'm super psyched to have discovered a nearby alternative to Dicks. It's a small-ish store absolutely PACKED with gear. Everything you need to play lacrosse, soccer, and an entire wall full of paddleball -- which apparently started in Rochester, who knew? If you told me Valenti Sports was the preeminent paddleball shop in the world, I would not question that. Since this place has an obvious focus on sports that are popular locally, I was a little surprised that I didn't find anything for disc golf. I'll just leave that one hanging out there in the Great Suggestion Box That Is Yelp. Definitely a great place for outfitting an athlete, but lacking typical gifty stuff -- such as lawn games, toys, jerseys and team gear. Several (non-pushy) salespeople asked if we needed help; this seems to be a place to go when you're on a mission -- "I'm looking for soccer cleats" or "my daughter wants to try out for the lacrosse team, what will she need?" We didn't grab anything during our visit, but I'll be back -- I am in want of a pair of indoor soccer cleats. And a soccer ball. And some athletic ability, but I'm afraid they might be fresh out of that.

The famous Rochester Flower has popped up on their shirts that hang from the walls on the insides of the store, along with a few other designs and logos. They carry mens tanks, tees, and hoodies. They also have women's fit tees, and a few off the shoulder long sleeved shirts as well. Most of their apparel (tees) are $25 a pop, but they have a current deal where you can buy two tees for $40 (a ten dolla discount!). The owners of the store seem fun and quirky. I hope this place does well.
