My 17 ram 3500 actuator threw a fault code. I took it to bergstrom ram oshkosh because they should…read moreknow their product. The service advisor showed my how far down in the engine bay the actuator is and how many parts had to be removed to access it. I had a service agreement so the service advisor was going to interface with them to save me a lot of money. They replaced my actuator at a total cost of $4000 but my part was only $1000 because of all his hard work on the phone. I decided to try to bulletproof my 6.7 if one little part cost 4 grand. I replaced the turbo and my 4 thousand dollar actuator. My third/newer actuator was ordered with the 64mm turbo. My new mechanic removed the passenger side wheel liner, removed four screws. Installed the $700 new actuator in 20 minutes. My cost for the actuator was $700 and I suppose that bergstroms price would have been much less than that. My point is that markup on labor and parts at bergstrom is beyond what any reputable dealer would charge. Beware of the sharks swimming around in that dealership because 400% markups are not ethical in any industry. I wouldn't do business at this oshkosh ram dealer on a dare. Take your truck to any other shop in the area until they flush the rats out of this dealership. They certainly cant fix the dealership with bergstrom personel. If you look at all the yelp ratings for every bergstrom dealership you see why using yelp is a HUGE MONEY SAVER as it exposes the crooks in the automotive business.

I've always felt like I got a good deal on a very good, low-mileage vehicle that will last. Kudos to the service/detail crew as the used vehicles look brand new when I received it. The one time I did have an issue with the oldest vehicle I purchased, Jacobsen stood behind it and I had no issue getting it fixed under extended insurance I took out on it. These are the reasons I had continued to purchase from Jacobsen, and will continue to in the future. I entered the service department at 9:23 AM for my 9:30 AM appointment. I signed a document stating the price was estimated to be $203.30. I sat down in the waiting area. At 2:55 PM, I was notified by text and email that my car was ready and the cost was $590.16. Bergstrom provided me with at least 3 different cost estimates, none of which exceeded $315.00 the lowest was for $182.00. I was shocked at the final cost and the time it took for the states largest auto dealership to install their own OEM part. I told the service manager to remove the dashcam for my car that I did not want it at that price. He informed me that I would still have to pay the labor costs to install and remove the camera. I paid the $590.16 There is no possible way any reasonable person would believe that this OEM part would cost almost $600.00 given our communications. If I could give them less than one star, I would.

What an awesome thing to do, so cool I had to make an account to share! The vehicle was definitely priced reasonably as well, I miss the sport of haggling but I understand why they cut it out here.
