She advised us that the plumber coming out would let us know the difference in price from the quoted price she gave us over phone of 940.00. The plumber came out and informed us he could not complete job today and needed to discuss with his supervisor and get back to us with an updated estimate. We were then told we had to pay a CALL OUT FEE of $140.00. WE WERE NOT INFORMED OF THIS WHEN APPOINTMENT WAS MADE. NOT ONE COMMENT ON THIS UNFAIR CHARGE. Training needs to occur with the scheduling as this is NOT good customer relations. THIS SHOULD BE CONVEYED TO THE CUSTOMER WHEN CALLING. What is painfully apparent is the gross negligence in the decision to utilize a disconnected employee to conduct a vital inspection. Had proper discernment been applied, it would have mitigated the associated failures. This inspection should have been completed following the Veterans Administration Minimum Property Requirements, not the pencil-whipped document submitted for closing. The representative of your company assigned to conduct the VA-required inspection submitted a notice of resignation from your company before executing the contracted inspection. The associate disturbed a few inches of the topsoil to give the appearance that the inspection was completed, violating the minimum property requirements. This further demonstrated that there was zero motivation to exercise proper discernment to do the job correctly because the associate's mind was already moving onward with their new career path.   If done correctly by a qualified and dedicated professional, the inspection would have identified the crushed pipe under the sidewalk and never passed the rigid requirements of the Veterans Administration's inspection outline.   Therefore, the VA inspection would have failed, shifting the required repair to the property seller before closing on the property.  You and your co-workers unearthed the 8-foot concrete lid of the septic tank that day to gain access, graphing in an access portal afterward to conduct the inspection properly. Your co-workers identified additional failures in how that inspection was not performed correctly and shared those findings candidly with my wife. I question, do they work on commission and keep all the extra margin $$$$ I understand making $ and don't blame anyone however this was outright taking advantage of us! So shop around and get many quotes for your plumbing job.

I had one zone that for years was not working properly. I called 3 companies. The first was the orginal installer back in 1998. They said too many heads in the one zone, I said you are the ones that designed and installed the system. They said maybe water pressure dropped over the years. So they removed one of the heads in that zone. It helped but not 100%. They said it was the best it would get our water pressure must have dropped. The only way to correct it would be to install a pump to build up pressure. I called company 2 they looked and said it was a tree root issue, do to the neighbors trees. Did not have the tool with them to check were the blockage was. Said they would need to come back. Instead they called me with a quoted of $2000 to run new lines. I asked what about looking for the blockage? They said it would be a waste of time. Not satisfied I called John's sprinkler system 708.349.3522. They came out worked on the system for about 2 hours. The first thing the techs (Julio and Jeff) found was a head was cracked. The system worked but not 100%. They looked and found a leak in the line by another speaker head. They dug it up and repaired it. The pressure is so good now it was spraying the house, the neighbors yard and our shed. They adjusted all heads and spray patterns. The system works like new. I highly recommend John's sprinkler system.

He didn't have anything else to say so I asked him how would they reinforce it? How would they slope it? I think this guy was a salesperson who probably never did concrete work. Then I had to bring up the subject of stairs. I work during the day and this guy is wasting my time with his lack of sales skills and knowledge. So then he goes to his car and write up an estimate for $4,400. Congrats, you are the highest bidder! On the estimate form it says something like "Material prices go up in June, labor prices in July". This is to motivate you to sign now. He offers no information about whether or not the company is registered with the village. He wrote on the form "Customer gets permit", something we didn't discuss. I ended up hiring Caesar Garcia Concrete Solutions from Cicero thru Home Advisor. Saved $1400 with them. True professionals. Forget Vander Veer.

Szabo's plumbing was my only hope, Branden and Tony came 2 days ago, as all Szabo's plumbers they were very polite and respectful to the property, listened attentively, complimented the contractor's work, studied all plumbing system of the house, pointed at a possible culprit (industrial grade utility sink), adjusted the sink faucets' position and the problem was instantly solved!
