I love hot showers as well as anyone, but this was ridiculous. We weren't getting any cool water coming out. -scorching hot! It felt like my eyebrows were singeing right off of my face. I have no idea how my spouse could stand it. I was yelling obscenities every time I had to stand under that shower head. I assumed it would be an easy fix, but nothing in my life or house is ever simple and this shower was no different. I wasn't thrilled to learn that the only way to fix this problem was to cut a 24x12in hole behind the toilet and replace the entire shower system, but after a couple of weeks with scorching hot showers, I was ready to accept what must be done. Unfortunately, it took a month to get the parts in. Not Brad's fault. Blame Grohe. But by that point, my esthetician was even yelling about what it was doing to my skin. Despite the looooong wait, Brad was great about keeping in touch. He promised that I would be at the top of his list when the part came in and just like he promised, I was. It was a smooth process once the shiny new hardware was in. In and out in a day. Very professional. Informative. All positives. In the end, it was a painful 2K price tag for more tepid water, but the pain of that was quickly forgotten the moment I finally had a curse word free shower. read more

Brad was asked to return to fix a problem that was not fixed during the first service visit. He charged us a second time $150 service fee plus parts to fix one of the original problems with a toilet. He was here about 10 minutes to fix the leak. We questioned him about the second service fee and asked him to please work with us because the problem was not fixed the first visit. He reluctantly offered to take $10 off! Really? Really?? We value everyone's time, but in this case we feel Brad was not willing to work with us at all! We would not recommend Marquise Plumbing because of Brad's unwillingness to reasonably reduce the service call or eliminate it because of the situation. This handling felt really wrong and unprofessional. This handling is NOT the way to keep a customer or to gain new ones. We will NOT hire again! read more

I called Brad about a plumbing quote I had received from another plumber. Brad got back to me very quickly and verified that water heater I was quoted on is good quality and the price I was quoted was very fair. Brad was extremely nice and informative, despite the fact that the information he gave me meant he wasn't getting my business. I was grateful for Brad's honesty. Update: I remembered the previous interaction and ended up using Brad when our ejector pump failed. They replaced our pump and everything was good. A year later the sensor failed on the replaced ejector pump, it was under warranty and Brad came out to replace the sensor charging for labor only. Another year has passed and the sensor has somehow seems to have failed AGAIN. These things happen, not that big of a deal. But I've now called Brad five times in the past week, leaving three messages and still haven't gotten a call back. Very frustrating when this sensor should still be warranteed. I had an excellent experience with Marquis Plumbing recently. Here's my story: My double sink in the kitchen backed up and I ended up borrowing a 50 ft rooter from my uncle to clear the line. It worked! Well, it worked for two days before the kitchen sink backed up AGAIN. I thought I must have had a serious problem so on a Sunday night I called Marquis and got a hold of Brad. I spoke with Brad for nearly 30 minutes and he walked me through the issue logically. I thought I must have a MAJOR issue with my home's main line and would need to have a professional come out and clear that line from the house to the city sewer line. Brad asked me to check my toilets and bathroom sinks to see if they had any issues - they did not. Brad explained to me that I must have dislodged some "grease" (industry term for all the crud in your pipes) when I used the rooter and it blocked up the kitchen sink again. Made sense and seemed logical to me. Brad suggested I try again and borrow my uncle's rooter and this time run it a while - then after a successful run with the rooter, and putting the kitchen sink p-drip and plumbing all back together, I was coached to fill up both sinks with super hot water and let them drain. The hot water would soften up any of the remaining "grease" (like warming up cold bacon fat) to make it run smoothly down the main line. IT WORKED! It's been over a month and no issues. I asked Brad if he did any other plumbing work (work I can actually pay for) and he said he does everything plumbing related. I need all my toilets replaced and I know who I'm going to call . . . the honest guy on the other side of my phone call when I needed a little guidance. I contacted Marquise Plumbing based on a recommendation from a neighbor. Our upstairs toilet started leaking and of course hubby was out of town and couldn't look at it. I called Marquise Plumbing mid-morning and the owner, Brad walked me through a couple things to check in case it was something I could fix myself. I appreciated his willingness to help me resolve the issue without automatically spending money on having him come out. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bigger issue and he arranged to stop by that afternoon. Brad arrived on time, was very knowledgeable and friendly and was able to fix my toilet in very little time. He cleaned up everything after completing the work and did an outstanding job. I had already setup an appointment with another plumber, who charged a service call fee, which I wasn't happy with, but I also figured Marquise would charge this...so I didn't call Brad back. Brad then followed up with me the next morning - and I was impressed by that level of follow-through from a plumber. He was able to email me a quote later in the day to replace our broken washer pan and install a battery backup sump pump - which I thought was for a reasonable price. Ron and his team at Marquise are excellent. We initially contacted them to help us remove an existing tub enclosure and to install a new bathtub. They were very quick to respond and set up an appointment time for us. While here performing the work, they were courteous, super friendly, and worked very quickly and efficiently, even hauling away the old tub enclosure for us. A few months later, we found ourselves with an unrelated emergency sewer backup. We panicked and called a big name plumbing and drain cleaning company. They gave us an extremely high quote for our issue. We called Ron to get his opinion on the issue. He was able to come out almost immediately and quickly diagnose our problem, and set up a time to do the repair. He saved us at least $1500. Our sewer line had severed from the house at the foundation, so repairing it required digging 4 feet deep, and about a 4 x 4 foot square in the very front of our house. Ron and his team worked hard to save as much of our landscaping as possible, and to leave as much of our yard as untouched as they could. We couldn't be happier with their work. If we need ANY plumbing service in the future, Ron will be the first and only person we call. He cares about his customers and his business. His service and prices are truly unbeatable. read more

Firstly thanks to all of you who have reviewed Brad cause I got to tell you I was not disappointed. Called him in the am and like his voice mail said in an hour he called me back, 30 mins later he was in my home taking a look at my sump pump. He quoted me a rate for the pump and the battery backup and had all his rates in a well cataloged folder. We agreed and he left to get the product and an hour later back. He explained everything to me and how it worked and what he was doing etc. It's kinda amazing how he gets down and dirty cleaning up stuff that I do not think anyone else would have cause really you don't see some of the stuff buried under the water. 2.5 hours later he was done and cleaned up and out the door. We just had an awesome experience with Brad of Marquise Plumbing. We had been planning to eventually replace our 40-year-old bathtub, but had to do it sooner rather than later due to a plumbing leak. Brad came over right away and was able to fix the leak at a reasonable price (saving the ceiling in our downstairs bathroom from further damage), and then credited me for half of it when he installed our brand new tub a week later. I called and set up a 2-hour appointment window with Ron Ross. He called just before the start of that window to give me a better estimate of when they would arrive. This awareness of customer service continued throughout the job. Being retired, I ended up talking to him through most of the job. He's an interesting and well-spoken guy. Ron and his helper showed up on time, assessed the situation and went to work replacing two, leaky 30-year old outside spigots. The replacements were top quality as was the work. The next day, I ran water through the spigots for two hours and then checked both inside and out. No leaks. So, what does that show? Well, not much in itself - sweating joints is plumbing 101. But the joints were all at right angles and, while the inside shut-offs that they added in the crawl space could have been oriented in any direction relative to the pipes, they were neatly horizontal to the ground. As they say, each job is a portrait of the worker. And as a customer, I could not have asked for a better portrait. And when it came time to settle up, he used an iPad and email, not paper. It was nice to see a company keeping up with technology, maintaining customer service and doing good work. So simple, so rare. I would call Marquis again without hesitation. read more

I can't say enough how outstanding this company is. Recommend does not go far enough. This was by far and away the best experience I've ever had with a plumber. By way of background, my story begins the night before I called. I walked down to the basement to see significant standing water (not weather related nor a problem that had occurred previously). The next morning I called Marquise Plumbing with little to no insight other than the obvious "I got water where it shouldn't be." Ron, who took my call and personally came to fix the problem, was able to give me a brief assessment, based on only my extremely limited knowledge, to allow me to make the informed decision on what next steps may be necessary. Later that very same day, Ron arrived at my house not only on-time but in fact BEFORE he initially quoted me to according to my availability. Not only was Ron prompt and professional he was also a genuinely good guy. When he arrived he went straight to work and assessed the problem with more detail. After nearly an hour of service Ron had diagnosed every problem, even those I did not initially discuss on our call, and provided me with comprehensive and affordable (in some cases FREE) solutions to those problems. On the main issue, however, he informed me would not be fixed permanently through what he was capable of doing because it was not a plumbing issue but rather a septic issue as a result of severely grease clogged 1940's catch basin. Instead of just giving me a quick fix that would fail in a week he provided me with real expert insight so I would not be misinformed or overcharged for the service I actually needed. It was at this point that, though he had already assessed my issues, confirmed them through some testing and had spent, and explained them to me with demonstrations that Ron stated to me that he does not charge for unneeded services and that his consultation, because of his inability to amend the issue, would be FREE OF CHARGE. In his words, "I don't operate like that. I'm not that kind of guy." Not only that, but because he referred me to different industry, he will effectively be turning down my business. It is this level of honesty, integrity, and customer service that differentiates companies in this space. Where I have been charged 300 dollars before for things I could have done myself, Marquise chose not to take advantage of me and instead provided a WOW customer experience.
