Took my BMW in for a radiator issue. Original estimate was $2100. Picked up car and they sent me home with a bottle Of coolant that cost me $2100. Paid $140 for them to tell me what the car needed and I fact was incorrect. Should have gave me a final estimate for a complete repair job. They called me and said they wanted an additional $3000 which would have brought a total of over $5k. Took it down the street to valley European and they fixed me right away for $2000 car runs great please use Valley European. I miss Gene the old owner of Kruse Lucas. This company is a rip off. Recently we were having a problem with the software / sensors in our Mercedes and it was really making driving the car unpleasant with the constant messages. I'm a customer for 25 years ( 1978 for my Volvo to 2005 ) In March of this year I took my Porsche for an oil change and brake fluid change. The business is under new management now. These people starting with office , Mechanic and the owner Chris . Tabatha is very sneaky, make sure she explains everything they're going to do to your car . She put $250.00 extra on the bill without my permission. A new drain plug ($125) I didn't need . Additives like a can of fuel injector cleaner , an other can of oil treatment . ( $125 ) etc . All I asked was oil change filter and brake fluid change . Make sure you tell her, just that oil change and filter that's all . The mechanic must of had something in his back pocket that put 5- scratches on the drive seat . When I complained to the owner Chris he said that's common wear . Anyone could tell it was freshly made scratches . Went to get an estimate from a leather shop he recommended. After showing him the price $425 , he said he wasn't going to pay for it . He's obviously is not going to honor any repair any damages his employees do on your car. This new management should not have the name Kruce n Lucas , they are not worthy of displaying there names . I was very respectful when I complained my issues to the owner Chris, he just said, I don't wish to participate in any repairs. So people the shop is not what it used to be . I paid these incompetent mechanics $5,300 after they claimed to have "fixed" my BMW. After a matter of only a couple of days I had to take my car back in and it was just in and out after that. They took the time to do a full courtesy inspection, confirmed new brake pads were not needed, and checked a filled each tire to correct pressure. What impressed me was upon picking up the car, they took the time to walk me through accessing a service menu and showing me exactly how to run a brake burnishing procedure. EVIDENCE ATTACHED I would like to start off by saying how hurt and disrespected I have felt by not just Kruse Lucas as a whole but mainly by Tabitha (aka tabby). Tabby is the front desk receptionist who I have been seeing for the past 2 years for my oil changes on my Alfa Romeo. I am going to be completely transparent because I am not lying on this review and I will attach proof to prove so. I went in for an oil change and was told that my water pump was leaking. Me being someone that knows the bare minimum about cars, I informed the men in my life about this. (And this is important because me being a female, tabby was convinced she could fool me with her nasty tactics due to my lack of knowledge on such topics). I was quoted nearly $2500 for the job which was fine because I have warranty that covers EVERYTHING (parts and labor). Tabby gives me a call to tell me that I would have to pay the difference which was going to be around $700 because she stated that "warranty does not want to pay for the parts in full and they do not want to cover the Freon" This was a bit confusing so we contacted warranty ourselves. She also stated that the parts are back ordered by 2-3 months and that we would have to leave my car there. I asked her to email me the invoice that Alfa Romeo sent her just because I wanted to personally compare the two invoices and she states "I cannot send that because that is an in house invoice". Suspicious right? When we went back to pick up my car because we had decided that we did not want to fix the water pump just yet, Tabby says "oh so you guys are picking up your car after all... well Goodluck finding a place that will do it for cheaper" when not once had we been been rude to her in ANY way. Obviously she was mad and hurt that she lost out on extra money that should have not been there to begin with. Come to find out she up upchraging parts, labor, and everything else. We ended up finding another shop that got the part in 2-3 days and had my car ready for me today. She was also very rude when I had to call her again and ask her to cancel her claim with my warranty that way the new shop could put in a claim and she responded with "well to be honest I've already wasted time with your warranty so It will be a waste of time for me". And even after that I still stayed respectful and told her to do it within the next two days because I need it done. And what did I have to pay with this new shop? Only about $125 which was my deductible. So Tabby, if you're reading this review, please explain to me how we go from $700 to $125? And thanks for your Goodluck, worked out in my favor. It took 4 days to feel the need to write this dishonest and unethical experience..I own a Maserati Sports Ghibli with 26k mikes.. I made an appointment with Tabby/Tabitha she stated to me their usual protocol and if not followed they WILL NOT WARRANTY their work..their protocol recommends all 4 brake pads and rotators must be changed. I asked but if it's not needed with a car of only 26k why it's necessary? The day of appointment 9am came I was stuck at a property development investment meeting unable to attend the meeting I asked a close friend of mine to take my car for only an inspection he came through when I asked to give me a notice ASAP tabitha stated to him to leave the car and they will have an answer for me til around 4 pm. I asked, " why, the point of making an appointment was to Look and take my car right away she than proceeded to step away and quickly came back in 2 minutes stating " her foreman had looked at it and ALL 4 brakes pads and all 4 rotators will need to be replaced totaling to $3,230.16. I explained over the phone how this looks and how untrustworthy this appears. What I didn't tell them was I had taken it 2 mechanics I've had for 15yrs on my other vehicles but both told me they ARE NOT COMFORTABLE doing the work.. but the front brakes WILL. NOT NEED WORK..I'm saddened to report them for the dishonesty but with assurances that BBB will also get a notice. Recently, my son was stranded in Modesto due to engine overheating on his way back to LA. He is a young man who doesn't have much experience with car care. The folks at Kruse Lucas showed enormous care. They fit him into their day, and even took him to a Starbucks where he could hang out. Given the time, they were able to determine it was a leak, but were unable to find the leak. They taught my son how to check fluid levels and to add water to the system, and advised him on wait time for cooling, and sent him on his way. Further, they didn't charge him. I am grateful. I have a Jetta that has had several issues, mostly due to it's advanced 21 year old age. I first found Kruse Lucas Imports after I returned to my car in Fresno unable to start after having left it for a couple weeks. Well after a couple shops in Fresno could diagnose it but unable to fix it, I found Kruse Lucas as I live in Modesto, and they stated they would be able to replace my fuel injection pump. I had my car towed back to Kruse Lucas with AAA. They made the whole process was easy, as I did not yet have a rental car to drive back to Modesto. They worked with me around my crazy not 9-to-5 work schedule. They called with updates and had an online update system with ability to approve the work- which was easy and convenient. Then they worked with me each time regarding pick up- as I work past their closing time and was able to pick up the car. And they even washed it too!
