Ron & Randy's expertise and honesty sets them apart from the rest and I have not even had my car serviced from them yet! Recently, my long-term car services company referred me to Valley European without hesitation to assess and repair a cylinder issue on Mercedes GLC 300. Their original manufacturer diagnostics tool identified the issue and nailed it. More importantly, they informed me that Mercedes has known this issue for sometime and based on my mileage I should have no issues getting it replaced by them. They had the knowledge and the insights in advising me how to approach it, make sure to get all my service records and let them know that Valley European has already diagnosed the issue. They have excellent partnership with the local dealership due to their expertise. Ron ordered the parts for me, yet he was only happy to let me get this approved through the dealership, and didn't charge me for the diagnostics either. It certainly was a big expense job! I have a 1967 Volvo 122s and I was looking for someone who could help me with this European classic. Ron of Valley European is himself a connoisseur of old Volvos and willingly took on my car with its problematic starting issue. On the same day I took the car in he had the fuel pump replaced and had the car was humming like a kitten. A couple of weeks later I had a similar starting issue and I took the car back in. Within hours Ron had fixed the issue which I was so embarrassed by...loose wiring at the starter. Ron did the work FOR FREE, then pointed out a couple other things that I could do myself (replace the battery, change out a gasket / thermostat / hose with the coolant system) without encouraging me to buy the stuff from him or pay for his labor. As you all probably know, this level of integrity and honesty is harder and hard to come by, and Ron (along with Randy) have it in spades. I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to have a local expert in vintage Volvos that is also honest to a fault, is beyond competent, is extremely efficient, and is truly a pleasure to do business with. read more

My VW Golf had some major problems. It was difficult to find a shop to do the work required. The engine needed to be pulled and various parts put in, transmission was leaking, plus I needed the aircon serviced. The friendly professionals got my car in immediately, ordered needed parts, which took a while, and kept me updated. I waited a couple months to write this review to make sure all ran well. The folks at Valley European did an excellent job! I live in Sacramento now but it was worth the drive to Modesto, and anything major mechanically happens to my car I'll again take it to Valley European. read more

I got a really good impression from both of them and felt comfortable and confident they could take care of a few issues with the car. They BY FAR exceed my expectations. Hands down the best interaction I've had at a shop in a long time (ever?). They clearly and honestly walked through everything they did on the car and showed me several things that the dealership diagnosed that they would have gone a different (and less expensive) way with. Took my 1995 E320 to Valley European Automotive. Brought all the maintenance up to date. Then went through the car, transmission leak, new head gasket, drive line joints, differential gasket & seals and some serious wiring problems, excellent work all of it. Fact: Not too many shops in the area I know of willing to take on classic cars these days. Most either don't have the desire or technical knowledge or even patience to take on the challenges. Well, Ron and his crew possess all of the above and proved it when for a few visits of my daily driven BMW 2002 was handed over to give it some much needed 'love' only caring hands and minds would deliver. After speaking with Ron, whom is both an avid european car owner/enthusiast and genuinely kind person, I felt confident he would take great care in repairing and upgrading my car. On just a few visits to make some improvements to the driveline and ignition system, the car runs and drives better than it ever has!! At least in my ownership. I was so impressed with it's performance, I made the decision to drive it to LA just a few days after getting it back. As expected, it ran flawlessly. When I was referred to Ron, and I actually spoke to him regarding what I had endured the past several days and explained my level of frustration, he was so confident, not cocky, but confident, that he could help me ..... because that's what he does. I was taken back a bit because my anxiety level decreased and I actually believed him. I was pure frustration, emotional and running out of money because I was left holding the bag ....trying to make right someone else's wrong. Mind you the mechanic I used briefly didn't want to deal with my situation.....but Ron was like tow your car here and let's see what were dealing with. He got me in that day...when I arrived at his shop. I was really impressed with his shop and his crew. He was so calming, explained what we were dealing with....what the process was going to entail and discussed cost. Of course car problems aren't always cut and dry and other issues tend to arise.....of course that means $$$$$. He kept cost low because he knew this was an unexpected cost for me...but on the flip side he needs to run his business.....his bread and butter. His crew is very knowledgeable....and explained things to me when I would ask my many questions. I was concerned about getting home and they said not to worry they would take me home and pick me up when car was ready....and that they did! They picked me up on Saturday...and come to find out ..... they don't work Saturdays....but they did for me, to get me back on the road so I could get back to work. (after missing 4 days) I can't say enough wonderful things about Ron and his crew. They saved me that day and I am recommending Valley European Automotive to anyone who wants a mechanic they can trust and who will empathize with you and your situation...
