While visiting Columbia for work we decided to get seafood for dinner. I'm not a big seafood person, but I went because the team wanted seafood. This place is small and clean. The parking is metered. Luckily I didn't have to pay because it 8pm. You have to go to the counter to order. We were greeted by the staff. She was very pleasant and patient with us. The food was delightful. I had the fish and chips and the chicken wings. Everything was seasoned well. Although it was late we weren't rushed. They made us feel comfortable. The young ladies were friendly and helpful. Fast, fresh seafood in a fun setting. Got messy fast and forgot to take pics, but the plate of food brought out was impressive. Two of us split the crab & shrimp dinner platter, adding a second crab cluster, corn on the cob and subbing the sausage for extra potatoes) and it was around $30 each + tip. There was more than enough food for us to take home extra potatoes (soooo good) and leave extremely satisfied. I told my mom about this place and had to take her the very next weekend. Absolutely AMAZING. I come here at-least once a month with my mom during lunchtime. I always order the Crab + Shrimp Platter which comes with a crab cluster, six shrimp, corn, potatoes, andouille sausage, and a boiled egg for around $19 I believe. It's 100% worth every penny. The crab is always perfectly boiled and easy to crack. I usually get cajun butter with my boil and it's perfectly seasoned. I HAVE to lick my fingers afterwards every time. Another great thing about Krustaceans is how fast the food comes out. We ALWAYS receive our food within 10-15 minutes of ordering which I find insane. Such a great place! read more

Ate there for the first time yesterday. The first thing I noticed when I went inside was that there was zero "deep fry" odor. You know the smell I mean - the, "oh yeah, they sell deep fried food here." I had shrimp, fish, fried and a red velvet waffle (which I bought to share with my friends). The food was fried to perfection, light, crispy, delicious! The shrimp was so well done that you could literally eat the tails. Usually I am not a fan of waffles, but the red velvet waffle is now a personal favorite. The most flavorful waffle ever. The service is second to none. Well, Krustaceans packs this fish with FLAVOR and is fried to perfection. The fish is tender and not dry. The coating isn't too salty but is so good! If you want sauces don't be afraid to ask. They have ketchup, tartar and hot sauce. There's plenty of seating and you order at the counter, take a seat and they bring the food to you. They have a daiquiri bar! I had the bayside platter, it was loaded with shrimp, crab legs and potatoes with a huge sausage and corn! So flavorful without being salty! My wife had the chicken wings which were some of the best we ever had. Waffle was amazing with a unique flavor. Oh yea the the swamp juice!! This is easily the best seafood in Missouri. I cannot express how pleased we were with the food and the service. The employees are genuinely happy to have you there and make suggestions from their large and amazing menu. We got way too much food for the two of us, but we wanted to try a lot! The breading on the fried fish is so flavorful. We also got a platter with crab, shrimp, corn, potatoes, etc. There are several butter flavor choices and we got the lemon, but I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. The only thing I would change is for them to make their own tartar sauce in-house. But the food is so great, you don't necessarily need it anyway. Well worth it and we will be back! read more

Tried this place during Columbia'a Restaurant Week 2022. A find. Walk in and order crab, shrimp, Cajun sausage boil. Within moments the steamed seasoned crab legs, shrimp platter arrived. Seafood moderately spice ( I can't handle the hot stuff) but you can get it hotter if you like it. Piece of corn on the cob, hard boiled egg, eating on top of boiled potatoes. Everything swimming in buttery broth. All cooked to perfection. A roll of paper towels on each table because it gets messy cracking crab and shrimp. One plate was plenty for two. They have beer available, but we opted for water. Price a little high but sharing a platter was more than enough for two adults. Cost before tax and tip $40. You could easily take this home. Entrees prices higher and lower, we stayed in the middle. We love crab and it was excellent. read more
