Waited in line for 1 hour on Saturday night! We ended up leaving without even ordering.

I have not eaten at a crystals in a long time. I was traveling so I stopped at a Crystal's Gainesville Florida. I have to say the service was good, but the food was total trash. I used to love Crystal burgers and now I have to say I will never eat another Crystal. The meat looks like mystery. Meat is pale doesn't taste like beef. It's just nasty. The burgers are wet like they've been sitting and the place wasn't busy so they probably were the tater tots nasty. Don't bother to go spend your money there because you're just gonna be disappointed. Sorry that Crystal's is spelled incorrectly, but I was using voice text to do this. read more

5/26/2025 my wife and I visited this location and ordered through the drive thru. Having never been to Krystal we had a question about the corn pups. After asking if they were corn dogs the lady taking the order gave us a sarcastic remark thinking we should know what corn pups are. We left the line and never ordered. Will never return. Better than expected! I needed a quick lunch and went through the drive thru. I got the Krystal with bacon and cheese. It was hot, flavorful and just the right size for a small appetite. Soda was nice and bubbly Fries hot and crispy. Cannot complain! read more

Today's lunch is brought to you by Krystal or some people call it "Krystal's" lol. This fast food restaurant is a sister restaurant of "White Castle" which can be found in others states. Today's menu choice was the #1 Combo 4 Krystal Burgers w/ Cheese and French Fries and a Sprite (large). I went through the drive thru and the lot appeared to be clean and the line was moving pretty fast. The person who took my order was pleasant and my food order was correct. If you don't mind mini burgers then this place is for you. Their square patties is a signature style for this company which make it a local favorite. The fries are a thick cut, not much flavor with it but it taste like a normal fry indefinitely, and not too salty which is always a plus in my book. They do not have a chip reader. They do not accept Apple Pay. If your card doesn't swipe properly, they refuse to enter the number in manually to pay for things. So they just literally refuse your service. I have used my card that does not swipe well for over a year around town in Gainesville at countless places. A lot of places have a chip reader, which is something that's been around for a decade. Now, a lot of places have Apple Pay, which is something that has also become fairly common practice for many retailers and restaurants. And there are a couple of places, that enter the number manually, because they have yet to upgrade to the 21st-century and installed chip readers. But this particular restaurant refused to accept money and just shrugged when I asked what I should do. I'm pretty sure there was a Manager there as well doing the same thing basically refusing to offer solutions or any kind of help at all or maybe even explaining why they haven't upgraded the Restaurant's payment system in decades Just overall unhelpful, uncourteous staff and management. Not to mention the fact that when you're pulling into Krystal, you're already truly scraping the bottom of the "I need something to eat right now" barrel. Going to Krystal is nostalgic for me because I used to go whenever we went to visit my grandma in Florida. Nothing has changed since then! The burgers tasted just as I remembered. They were fresh and the buns were soft. Perfect amount of onions and the cheese was melted perfectly. We went back another time and tried the chicken sandwich and that was good as well! I see many negative reviews about this location but I must say, this has to be one of the best locations I've gone to in a while. Living in Texas, they're non existent. Every time we come to Florida, it's a must we find a Krystal burger restaurant. The food was so fresh, there was a woman who greeted me with a smile and eagerness to take my order when I walked in but my husband had already ordered. I later found out she's the manager. If I'm not mistaken this may be the only Krystal I've been to thus far. I didn't grow up with Krystal burgers nor White Castle so mini burger drive-thrus are still a bit of a novelty for me. This is the perfect place to go to satisfy late night cravings. The burgers and little Chiks are great. Fries are decent. I haven't tried any of the other food. I've only been to the drive-thru. Haven't been inside yet. The service is friendly but slow. Slooooow. At least 95% of the time I've been asked to pull around and wait for my order. Longest wait has probably been 15 or 20 minutes. It's usually at least a 5 minute wait which is strange for a straight up order, no special requests. This seems to be a bad habit in Gainesville. Too many fast food places make you pull up and wait. Defeats the purpose of a fast food drive-thru, in my opinion. read more

Worst Krystal I have ever been in. Filthy inside and out. Got one senior breakfast for $3.99 and they charged $.70 for a "choice of drink" that supposedly came with the meal. Husband got the $4.99 breakfast with no drink and was charged $5.99 because she rang his up as a combo and then she added $.30 for tater tots which he ordered but did not get. Fortunately we were refunded $1.30 but it's not enough to come back. Employees should be cleaning food droppings from under tables instead of sitting on counters and horsing around!! First and foremost, this Krystal is old and it shows, both inside and out. That being said, I have only ever experienced good service when eating here. The drive thru can be a bit slow if someone in front of you order massive amounts of sliders, but the inside section is fairly quick. It's a fast food slider place and if you're expecting more than that, you're at the wrong place. The sliders are good and cheap for big packs. It's the closest thing we'll get to White Castle in Florida, so get your fix here. read more

I love sliders, but this store is badly in need of some new carpet and furniture. The people working there were very nice and worked as fast as they could. You must remember that some of the orders preceding yours might be for 24 burgers. We got 12 burgers and two fries and soda. The burgers were standard sliders and quite good while they were still hot. The fries, though, tasted as if they'd been fried in very old oil. I couldn't eat many of them before abandoning them. We had a few burgers that we stupidly brought to our hotel room and stowed in the fridge. Even stored in the fridge the smell of them woke me up in the middle of the night. I had to get rid of them in a bin outside the room and even then, the smell stayed in our room for two days. First I want to start by saying I never review anything negatively because SHIT HAPPENS...but this is the 3rd time I've been craving those lil bites of heaven that are the krystal burger....and this is the 3rd time that the service, food, and cleanliness was just horrendous.....the store itself smelled horrible , you couldn't eat inside there without vomiting..the cashier was on the phone while taking my order which was disrespectful enough...not to mention getting my order wrong because she wasn't listening to me...it really sucks because it's the only location Gainesville has left....needless to say never again will I attempt to fulfill my craving at this location again....ps also spent a small fortune on food that was inedible read more

Ahhhh Krystal....like the friend who's always there for you. This place is open 24/7 and pumps out some great tasting different fast food. I am a White Castle fan...but since I'm south of Murfreesboro, TN (White Caste's southern most store) this works well in a pinch. KNOW THE LINGO: I always order my Krystal's "off the grill". That means they just come with Onions. This Krystal has always been consistent albeit a little slow. I always go inside to get my fix. The drive thru just takes too long for my liking. Also, the frozen coke's here I'd skip. They're not the best and not even close to 7-11 quality but then again, you don't go to Krystal for that do you? read more

Tried going to this location yesterday and was told "our system is down" around 4amish, I told myself "okay that's normal, sometimes stuff happens" so today I called the location around 3:50 before I got off work and asked if their systems were up, they said yes so I pulled in around 4:15 and was told over the speaker "sorry our system is down for 30 minutes" so I said I was the one who just called and that it was strange that your system is down around the same time 2 nights in a row, right after I said that the system somehow "started working again, what would you like to order?". I've worked fast food, I understand that "our system is down" is code for "we need a quick smoke break or need to catch up on cleaning/prep work" I totally understand, but at least show the courtesy of saying that over the phone so I don't go out of my way to drive to the location after work and have to be confrontational just so I can order. Then when I finally got the food 15 mins later,the fries were old and stale and I was missing my chili cheese fries, at this point I was just frustrated and drove off, I hate leaving bad reviews but dang they did me dirty. read more

We really can't resist those soft steamed buns with the minuscule amount of meat inside. It's really the perfect bun-to-meat ratio. I have seen "Krystal's" for a while but never had the urge to try what I suspected was a nasty burger. Sorry, but I never heard anyone proclaiming that they are giving up all other fast food burgers for the glory of Krystal's. However, I have been dying to go to a White Castle for years and heard Krystal's used a similar technique, so yesterday, there I was, driving on through the drive-thru by KMart on Newberry... Their menu was full of fatty combos and I had to ask if they even sold just single sized Krystal's burgers. She said yes, at 79 cents a piece (these are bite sized burgers, for those of you unfamiliar with the place.) I got two and 30 seconds later, I had paid and was done. They are about 2.5" in diameter and consist of a large, fluffy, steamed bun (yum!) and a thin beef patty with onions. The kicker that makes this different from White Castle (so I know via the frozen packs at Publix) is that Krystals comes with a pickle and mustard. No ketchup, folks, let ye be warned! It was a tad too mustardy for me. It was filling, but having a sweet tooth, I craved either ketchup or less mustard. It was worth the cost, filled me up, and I sort of wanted another one an hour later with the taste of the last ones lingering... I'd go back again if I really craved it. read more

Soooo gross. No I don't expect this place to be a five star restaurant because it is of course fast food. BUT I do expect a corporate fast food chain to enforce rules like sanitation!!!! I went to the restroom while my boyfriend stood in line to order.... and I knew my craving for a Krystal burger was shot down. You can tell a lot by the staff by the restroom.... iJS! No soap.... checklist wasn't checked and bathroom was gross. Thank god he didn't order yet.... cuz he was still waiting with only one person in front of him. People behind the counter didn't seem to motivated and now I know if they went to the bathroom they didn't wash their hands... how with NO SOAP. I told my dude and we both walked out. I let the other 2 people in line know.... ugh eat at your own risk! Stopped in on our way home to central Florida. Decided to go inside to get out of the car. The woman taking our order would just randomly walk away while taking our order. It then took them about ten minutes to take my payment because they are so unorganized inside. My food was ready before I even paid. Then with two cooks just standing around in the kitchen it was discovered that they never made my wife's food. They told us we could sit down and they'd bring her food to us. I watched as her order was made and then given out to the drive through. I know this was her order since we had ordered well over 20 minutes earlier. When I went up to get her meal refunded they had just come out. This place has serious management issues. Friends of the manager came in while waiting for our food and all the employees stopped what they were doing to talk with the friends. read more

I got 5 completely different burgers, none had pickle and some had mustard. All were old and stale. And they want to raise the min wage to 15 an hour.? We got the worst service ever. It took a long time to get our order and when we did it was wrong and cold. Said something to the person at the counter and they acted like we were bothering them. I have been a regular breakfast customer for about 6 months and overall it has been a good experience. They offer a southern express breakfast that is really good if you get there very early when the eggs are hot. It comes with your choice of scrambled eggs,grits or hash browns, bacon or sausage, toast or biscuit. With the price being under 5 bucks you really cant go wrong for the money. And then to top it off, we were ordering our food at 2am while traveling and needing to stay awake. So we order Coke to which the guy tells us they're out of both Coke & Dr Pepper!
