You know when you arrive at a hotel after being in a car for 8 hours, and you put that card key in the door and you're just not sure what to expect? You slowly open the door and whisper to yourself "okay, what did I pay for?" Well, the Sleep Inn in Middlesboro is one where you open the door and say "I ROCKED THIS RESERVATION!" The room is beautiful. Really, if this hotel was in Nashville you'd be paying $200/night for it. It's a luxury stay on the KY-TN border. We (me, husband and son) were so comfortable and relaxed in the room that we ended up just ordering some pizzas and having dinner in the room, rather than go out. Prior to this stay we had spent two nights at two different hotels - both with horrible beds which made our backs ache for miles and miles. The beds here? Wonderful. Soft. Comfortable. Restful. The front desk staff - pleasant, nice, smiling. The breakfast area was great, well-stocked, and lots of variety (I posted some pics.) If I ever go to Middlesboro or to any of the surrounding areas again, this is the ONLY place I will stay. Some Tips The hotel is set back off the road. The driveway up to the hotel is in between a Hardee's and a Holiday Inn Express. There's an 84 Lumber there, and the hotel was built way behind it. This is a dry county. So if you're planning on going out for drinks, or purchasing something to take back to your room, you can't. So, plan ahead if you'd like an adult beverage.

Never been here before. The first thing I noticed about this hotel were the cute statues on the driveway. The front desk attendant was friendly and kind. We are diamond members, so she have is waters and a choice of snacks. They also had fresh made cookies in the lobby and hit coffee and tea! Each room has a cute little balcony outside with chairs. I walked onto the balcony, and I was greeted with a most beautiful view of a fog covered mountain with a lake in front! ! I had to take away one star because they don't put hair conditioner in the rooms! By the time yiuvreslize there isn't any, you're already in the shower. This decision obviously wasn't made by a woman with long hair. So sadly, I couldn't wash my hair for fear of not being able to comb through it after.

Courtney and Travis made sure we did not miss out on our fresh cookies. Only complaint was the old dank scent which is simply the age of the Inn. But when every parking space is full and the tables are full of families eating their breakfast and smiling you must be doing things right.

This property was clean, comfortable, and offered free breakfast. The service was great - the front desk staff was attentive even though we checked in past midnight, and the breakfast staff the next morning was very welcoming. The hotel room itself left something to be desired in terms of style and art, but again, a Hanpton Inn looks the same no matter where in the world you are. Definitely a great place to stay if you find yourself in Morristown.

She uses it as her communication device. Unfortunately, it's no longer under warranty/insurance. It showed the hotel as its last location , using find my iPad. We called the hotel, left our number. Called again this morning, asking if there were any updates? Staff tried to be helpful, but had our number copied incorrectly. Stated they hadn't been there in a week. They'd check with the assistant manager and housekeeper named Jasmine. We called back an hour look after asking if there was an update, as we were traveling and were three hours away. Staff stated the nobody had reported anything and Jasmine and the assistant manager weren't in. I asked if there was any way to check with them to see if this device had been turned in? She put me on hold and then said the manager was checking the housekeeping office and the room where we had stayed. She also said he said to use the find my iPad location. I said the last location shown was their hotel, before it shut down. Needless to say, he reported back that it was not found. Lesson learned. After years of being very diligent, double checking and triple checking, before we leave a hotel room, we goofed. We thought we had put her pink mini iPad device, which she uses for communication, in her backpack. We didn't. The bigger issue is that there are staff members who work at this hotel who didn't hand this technology in to the front desk. Travelers, be sure to watch out for your belongings!

We were towed to the TML, where we met Patrick, the posterchild for what every business owner and service professional should strive to be. As soon as we were settled into our room, he drove us to the local grocery store. When we mentioned that our room didn't have a coffee maker, he brought a new one to us, with a bag of coffee packs (unopened). The following day he drove us to the local U-Haul lot and waited for us to make sure that the box truck and vehicle dolly we rented had no issues. We were treated like we were the only customers on earth. The room was clean. Granted, it wasn't the same room that other fancy hotels have, but there were no insects, no mold, and a new heat and air unit that kept us very warm. It was the best sleep I had had in a week, and the night before, we had stayed at the Inn at Christmas Place in Pigon Forge. The Tazwell Motor Lodge had a more comfortable bed! The water was hot, the free HBO was entertaining, and the local pizza shop delivered to the room, and was delicious. If we ever have the opportunity to be in the area again, and need a room, the TML is a no brainer! If you find yourself there, do not hesitate to meet one of the best people you will ever run across, and enjoy an authentic slice of how customer service used to be, PURE GOLD! *backroads... stupid autocorrect
